I’m looking for advice on a p lve gear build for an engineer. I do solo a lot,, though not always, I use two pistols, and I’ve been playing around with my traits and general build to find what works best.

I’m just looking for possible advice on gear or link to another post that gives advice as I’m sure this has been asked before.

I forgot about Abaddon and his fit. As much as I’ve read I still wasn’t sure if jack, jill, or their uncle bill could do the things that our characters do. It makes sense that everyone has some magic essence, but whether they have the aptitude to tap into and use that essence makes a lot of sense.

Something I’ve been curious about classes within the game world. Obviously, virtually anyone can become a stereotype warrior/soldier. They pick up a sword and shield and do their thing. Along the way maybe they enlist, are taught in another fashion, or just learn all the other skills that we can perform in the game. The same may be said for someone like the engineer, they learn to wield a gun and build things. Perhaps the thief is included in this, as anyone could ideally steal something and learn to be sneaky.

But what about all the magical classes and professions that require something more than what we might consider an average trait or skill? Can anyone learn to be a mesmer or learn to cast spells?

I don’t mean to disregard any of the classes from this, and they are included. Can anyone learn to be a mesmer, knight, templar, engineer, ranger, etc? Or is this one of those things that your born into?

Any good Pve dual pistol builds; skill, trauts, and gear suggestions?

I’ve been trying some things out, but thought I’d see what some other Dual Pistol builds everyone was using for PvE?

You an solo HoT, some classes make it easier than others. I know that I can solo almost anything short of the champions, elites, and the normal things you cant solo in vanilla GW2 with my Engineer but not my Ele.

I just wanted to update this and say that I did give the Engineer a shot, used my level 80 boost on it because I love the Engineer and it just fits my play style really well. I haven’t had any problems.

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times over, but recently I discovered how much I like playing in the silverwaste. Theirs more of a challenge and it has some decent payoffs, at least ive had some good one so far. This is however with my engineer, Im not a huge fan of it with my ele.

All that being said what is your favorite area to play in.

Compared to other moms there isn’t a lot of racial to class pros or cons is there. For example there isn’t anythi g like slyvari have a 10% bonus to all magic attack damage versus charr don’t have that racial feat

Thanks, I hadn’t even touched the Necro yet, which is odd as I played the Necro religiously in GW and for some reason never tried them here. Honestly, I got caught up with being able to play a Charr when I bought the game.

I’ll give it a shot tonight and see what I think.

So I gave engineer anot her shot and I’m liking it more than before. I haven’t dropped any tomes of knowledge or my level 80 boost on it yet but it may be my new class.

Putting that aside I do solo a lot of the time and I’m really into the lore and story line so that’s my focus. I love doing the world bosses and events and I like the idea of doing damage but I know from experience that I’m not the kind of person you want to tank or be the pull for any major battles. I’m better of doing damage and getting out of the way than keeping it off of people. With my elementalist I found that I can pull the attention off others when needed but I lmnot a tank for sure. I also know I’m not a healer, I want to still be in the battle, not that healers aren’t I just know that isn’t my type.

I recently got my first level 80 toon, a Human Elementalist, and run double daggers. Love the class and the only thing I wish I had done different is made her a Slyvari. But no big deal there. I also have a level 62 Engineer, which I have mixed feelings playing. The class is cool but I’m not in love per say.

I would like to get a second toon, well I guess a third toon, that I’ll actually level up and play, like my Ele. Which might you suggest. Just getting peoples opinions.

I think that only certain people would wear ancient armor like this.

One, the people who don’t know any better — i.e. Charr hide armor around a/the Charr, thus this could cause a problem. Some wet behind the ears kid in his ancestors armor. Whoops his bad.

Two, the people who hate or dislike the Charr still. Like those that are bigots, those who follow the old ways, or that are simply don’t care about offending.

Three, ceremonial armor for special occasions.

Personally it was a desire to play the Charr from GW 1. They may have been villains, depending on your view, but they were interesting as a race and part of the game, as well as the fact that ArenaNet gave us just enough information about them to make them mysterious in a sense.

I just got the launcher to start working. I haven’t been on in awhile so it’s patching now, so I don’t know if I’ll have any more issues. BUT at least now it’s patching.

So I’m not the only Mac based player having this issue. But my client is essentially dead to me. It loads up and gets stuck at the pre-login screen. Nothing from what I’ve read seems to fix it. I attached a screen shot of what I get.

I’m hoping AreaNet is working on this, they tend to be trustworthy when it comes to getting things in order for their games.

I’m having a similar problem. The separatist are stuck at 85% and the iron barracuda is stuck at say 25% health, every time I get to that area. After 30 minutes of trying to do the quest I gave up, because it just keeps going and dosen’t end.
