Did you really just push out a patch without fixing, or EVEN MENTIONING the bugs preventing you from crafting Nevermore. I really hope this is just not written in the notes. Ridiculous if this has been a week and a half now of not a single word on this subject.
Why would a patch mention the things it didn’t address? Why would you expect that every bug important to you is important to everyone and deserves greater priority? Why would you want them to hurry fixes, rather than properly troubleshooting the root cause to make sure they don’t recur elsewhere?
I am a harsh critic of ANet’s communication — in general, I think they could do much better. However, I reserve my rhetoric for those situations in which ANet is truly dropping the ball or missing an opportunity to do better. There are always going to be bugs and ANet is never going to be able to address (never mind resolve) them all. They will fix collections, but there’s no reason to expect that every patch will resolve the issues for any particular collection, no matter how prominent.

Also, since you are clearly uneducated on the subject, I will enlighten you. When the different teams and devs fix things or add things for the patch notes, those are written in code. Another person in charge of typing the patch notes we see on the forums receives said list, and they decipher it, and they take what they think is important to summarize. 90% of the time, things go skipped by unintentionally and not listed on the public notes. Not only does this happen every single patch, but anet themselves have described this exact scenario and apologized if things are missing from posts because of it.
This patch, the one from TODAY had a fix for one of the Nevermore bugs, which was not listed in the patch notes, so I really shouldn’t have had to explain myself there, but moving on.
I expect them to fix it because:
1- I paid for this expansion for this weapon only
2- legendaries were announced to release BEFORE 2014, and that didnt happen
3- they were then announced to be coming out with Hot – that didn’t happen
4- they were announced to be delayed because they weren’t ready, and would be 2 weeks late- that DID happen, but with bugs preventing you to progress
5- 3 days later they fixed said bug, only to find out there are more which still prevent progress. It has now been 11 days with NO word on this subject, not even a “We’re aware” post.
If you think this is just me, or a minority of people then you are beyond ignorant.
Why do I want them to take their time instead of rush? Well the model has been in the game for over a year that we’ve seen, plus they had 3 years to work on these. BUT EVEN if it’s still not ready, I would prefer a post on it, rather than complete silence, even after a patch is pushed out 1.5 weeks later with no fix.

I know that some of you were thinking that we’d be releasing updates to fractals today, but that was not the plan. There’s still a lot of stuff coming in December — this is, after all, only the 1st of the month

Just like new legendaries in December a few years back? Two years later after being delayed and delayed there are only 3, and only ONE is possible to make due to bugs. It’s been 10 days and no response or acknowledgement. Your “hold tight” holds no assurance. This company is beyond horrendous with communication.

Nevermore IV;
The Friend of Rabbits required event was disabled (as far as I know) when bundles were deemed too confusing to new players, as the New Player Experience (NPE) were introduced back in September 2014’s Feature Pack. This event has in other words not been active for over a year, and you chose to include that in the Nevermore IV collection? That quite simply blows my mind.
Danador also does no sell the Friend of the Pups trophy, but rather the Friend of the Hounds one, which is said to be given from doing the event that occurs. I assume it gives the Friend of the Hounds if you don’t purchase it from Danador before doing the event, as I have seen someone link having 2 Friend of the Hounds. I purchased mine before doing the event, and the event rewarded me with nothing for the Collection. This should have been a easy hotfix to replace the wrongful item on the Heart vendor btw.—not sure what’s taking so long.
_Not progress blocking bugs, but worth mentioning;
Friend of the Owl Spirit requires you to fail up to two events, before you can start on a four-event chain that will grant this item. For one, the description is wrong and the two Owl trophies are switched around. Secondly, you don’t get the item on defeating the Svanir Hunters (after failing the Beast event, then the Shaman event), but rather after going through defeating the Hunters, then escorting Ulgadis as she mends snow owls, then escorting her again to defeat the Shaman, then helping her destroy the totem, at which point you finally get the trophy.
The bigger problem is the need to fail an event, in a rather heavily traffic’ed lower level zone. Not forgetting that it needs the first event, to be completed, in order to get the other trophy. That creates problems with players needing the event to fail for one trophy, and players wanting to do the event to get the other trophy (besides the numerous people just going through doing the event, because it’s an event). You are creating toxicity and animosity among players when one side just does what the game has been teaching them, to complete events, and another side doesn’t want it to be completed. Those who needs the event(s) to fail, get overly frustrated with the players who come through and won’t listen to any sort of plead for letting the current event fail. I had to wait until 4:45-5:00 AM in the morning to be able to do it. That’s a ridiculous requirement. And then there’s the direct grievers. The “trolls”. Like some, admittedly slightly funny in name, “Never Getting More” character that camped the events last night and completed them just out of spite to the 10-12 players standing there wanting and asking for players to let it fail so that a four-chain event can start.
You really need to rework these stages of the Collection(s). It takes the “in Guild Wars 2, you are happy to see other players” (which is not really always the case with poor scaling on some events, but anyways—) and turns it into the complete opposite. You start resenting other players and want them to go away. Some people deal with it better than others. I tried to ask nicely. Other players got really frustrated and started cursing out the players who didn’t want to listen when asked to stop. I don’t want to see that in Guild Wars 2. Don’t make the “friendliest MMO Community” do a 180 because of a poor design decision, please. It should be obvious how easy it is for people to be destructive and for them to grief on a setup like that as well.
I know this company has a thing for completely ignoring players, but I can only hope they read this. It’s beyond ridiculous to the point where I HONESTLY believe that the two legendary weapons out of the whopping three released are bugged intentionally as a stalling tactic.
First they delay them past the 2014 date, and then 2 years later, they announce it will be with HoT. Then they say the weapons will be delayed 2 weeks into the pack along with raids. Then they are completely bugged to the point of not being able to finish, including an event that hasn’t existed in 5 months. OK. Not to mention they have said LITERALLY NOTHING on this and have been ignoring everyone, once again.

Description: All of the Aetherized Nightmare skins do not have the glow that they are supposed to. Which is quite sad considering the amount I paid for all of them. Daggers are the worst.
I have spent an absurd amount of gold on the staff, two daggers, a focus, and a scepter for my elementalist, only to find out that either the preview for all of these weapons are completely wrong, or the weapon itself is bugged. Either way it is quite disappointing. Screens included

You clearly havn’t played with anet long enough to know that word is the most mystical of them all.
Its a bug that happens when you come from wvw to pvp. Said this so many times..
saying it more times doesn’t make it any more right than you think it is. It’s not true because if it were you would have seen THOUSANDS of legendaries in pvp already. Also when the bug does happen, it’s just the aura that follows you, not the weapon, the footfall, and the weapons effects. There is an exploit to bring it over that very very few know about.

You’re proving the point of OP. We join tournaments to be serious and competitive, not laughing. If we wanted to be 12 years old and laughing at people falling and abusing a completely broken map we would be playing minecraft.
You can swap weapons from the hero panel when this happens and it will fix the bug and allow for regular switching afterwards.

It’s truly sickening that anet is doing this to us players intentionally. I am born and raised in Brokeback Mountain, Wisconsin so I am very acustom to the wildlife and nature. I feel that anet is purposely not implementing the moose as a ranger pet because they are homophobic and severing all ties with the movie Brokeback Mountain. I have made multiple characters trying to simulate the look of a moose but it not the same. I wish to see the fury of my moose ram the enemies nice and hard, but I cannot. Anet this is disgusting and horrible of you to show such hate and ignorance to your paying customers. Please consider making this happen or I will be deepy and truly depressed.

You assume the unlocked skills are stronger than the current ones.
If any, new players don’t have as much choice, which they dont need anyway, there are enough skills and traits to choose from atm.
Whether or not it makes the players stronger or not is irrelevant. The point is that PvP is it’s own world and should be treated as such. PvE is based on unlocking skills and working to get stronger gear and skills. PvP is somewhere where someone can come into the area and literally be on the same standing point as anyone else other than looks. Those of us who only play to PvP are already forced to do the ridiculous PvE quest every time we make a new character (more times than you would think) just to PvP. Now on top of this each alt or new character we make will need to unlock all the other skills to have the same build diversity, which is not a good direction for PvP.

They’re introducing more long-term rewards as they are taking this away. Right now you have 1 long-term goal that will take you perhaps 2 years to finish (Dragon finisher). They’re introducing MULTIPLE long-term goals for you to work towards.
If people would actually read the post and stop skipping over things that are said maybe they’d understand. Hell, I’d rather have MULTIPLE long-term rewards than just one. Not sure why everyone is so kitten about it.
or you have nothing in pvp to worry about? maybe if YOU read you would notice that the ranks will be eliminated. SURE I would love to have multiple long term goals but if that means I lose the one that the only reason I played the past year and a half was for, then kitten no. That’s like me suggesting to add more classes into pve but to do that we erase all of your current characters and gear. Pvp rank is all we have had since launch so this is erasing any progress we have ever made. Take all your gear, all your gold, all your level 80’s and present you a finisher. Pretty sure you wouldn’t be happy either.
If you cannot figure a way to make peoples currents ranks fit into the new system equally, THEN DO NOT TAKE OUR RANKS. I have played guild wars since the first game, and this is the most disappointing thing I read. I have worked for my rank and so have my friends who are 60+ and you plan on taking away all of the past year and a half’s work replaced by a kittening finisher. I sincerely hope anet has mistaken their calendars and think this is April fools.
Removing ranks from the game is a terrible idea. I know myself included with many friends are considering leaving the game if this change is implemented. We have been playing pvp since launch and are proud of all our ranks, and now we will no longer be able to work on it, and all we have to show is a finisher? Jokes. On top of that you’re making the gear we earned through high ranks available to everyone from pve who did nothing in pvp. Great job on destroying the gw2 pvp community or what was left of it

I am a very enthusiastic pvp’er and while I understand that changes are needed, I fail to see a single reason removing rank makes any sense. This is one change that will cost the game for me if it is indeed implemented

Make sure we let it be known it is also causing Gw2 to crash completely. When you come back, is when the 15-30 seconds of freezing and rubberbanding begin. Region is NA. ONLY happening in Foefire for me, and would be nice to have it disabled from the rotation temporarily

There are multiple threads stating there is lag, so I thought I would make one for the Devs to see the reason. The only map that is doing this right now is Legacy of Foefire. It becomes unplayable and occasionally gives a crash which then asks to do a diagnosis on.
same for tournament queue in pvp.

Note, you can have someone pull you into the playhouse even without touching the Vorpp achievements yourself (assuming they have done it). I can’t say whether this opens the pavilion to you afterwards, though I suspect it does.
Thank you for this tip, however exploiting (in a sense) should not be required to play content that was noted to stay until a certain date. This patch was full of miscommunications
We were told that the gauntlet and it’s challenges (Liadri) would remain until September 3rd, however now there are other events overriding this. The only way to get back to finish Liadri would be to grind through all of Vorpp achievements and PvE zerg in order to finish in time for another attempt and the gauntlet. This is 100% a forced grind because they took away something they promised would remain until we finish this new content beforehand.

The skins are amazing. However I’m fairly certain this is a April fools joke, which is disheartening because we now know that the design team is capable of making great skins, even if they had to be legendary status, but we are left with lackluster and boring skins.
Blame all of the ones who used 100 nades and SO abused it in spvp. And if you were one of them, QQ more and farewell

Recently (today) I have been hearing reports and I have also experienced myself sever lag followed my several disconnects on this map. Has anyone else been experiencing this?
I recently was on my asura and was playing around with a Box O Fun and I received the dance move perk. One of the dances was actually the dougie and I laughed my kitty cat off. Anyways, If these dances were available for purchase in the gemstore I’m sure you would have plenty of customers!

Are there perhaps just multiple thieves? Because it’s pretty challenging to do this on a moving target even with infinite initiative.
Anvil Rock has a thief wolfpack and they’re pretty scary when they run 5 deep. Especially when they mix sword+dagger with dagger+dagger. Pretty much nothing can escape if they surround you.

This is just getting annoying. I am from Isle of Janthir and there are MULTIPLE thiefs in Sanctum of Rall who are hacking to win. They will backstab you, and instantly (and I mean instantly) go back into stealth and repeat this hundreds of times, no matter how many people there, or no matter how many times they use it. idk if they are using the skill cancel to bug the cooldowns or what, but when they are able to take out entire camps in seconds, it needs to be fixed Since A-net doesn’t allow us to post screenshots or names, and there is no report for hacking there will be nothing done about this unless I post, and I’m sure nothing will be done here either.

As a dedicated Mesmer I know how they work and I know what does what…. While in LA I like change my dye colors and make many clones by the dummy. While doing this I need to use decoy because when I use deceptive evasion, the clone created attacks the wrong dummy and it looks stupid.
I don’t know if you just haven’t been in a situation that you noticed but this is not broken, it is working as intended from the getgo.
Also it has been stated by a dev, but I will re-state it. The delay has been there since beta and I know this because I used to ask myself why it would delay. Maybe the update made it more obvious to you because people posted about it, but the rampage was started by one mad kid and was fed to the angry Mesmers to become a mob. There is no additional delay to phantasms.

I’ve played a mesmer exclusively since the game was released. I wonder how I made it all the way to Dec 3 without my Berserker being ONE-SHOTTED BEFORE HE GETS AN ATTACK OFF – and now it happens REGULARLY. I reported the bug within minutes of logging in after the Dec 3 update – it was that obvious.
I can only assume you’re the one who hasn’t played a mesmer – else you’re not using phantasms, and certainly not a Berserker.
Anet BROKE the mesmer. Period.
lol calm down kid. I don’t see how they are broken as I am in wvw and spvp on my mesmer everyday and I still never lose 1v1’s and I provide great team support. And I have a legendary weapon on mine, so that is to show I have spent loads of time on it. It’s not broken, maybe for someone who smashed buttons and didn’t incorporate skill into a fight it made it more difficult, broken? nah
Just spent an hour trying to partake in WvW events. While defending from the walls of a fort I felt 100% useless. My phantasms just explode the second they’re spawned. Utterly frustrating feeling so completely useless. I am not a melee class. I do not and cannot withstand any sort of beating as I use deception and evasion to survive.
I posted an additional bug related to clone creation on the bug forums but it quickly disappeared to page 3 within a few minutes.
Clones are attacking their nearest target when created now and not who I have targeted. Deceptive evasion is now officially broken for PvE/WvW and to a lesser degree PvP.
If my clones and phantasms can’t attack the targets I am setting them on because they are incapable of attacking before exploding or refuse to attack the target that I have selected PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REMOVE THEM. I am sick to death of the baby steps being taken for a class who’s core mechanics are BROKEN. Other classes may function with bugs and broken skills/traits but their CORE MECHANICS are not broken and they are able to enjoy game-play unhindered and but not wholly unplagued by their issues.
I thought I could live with the delay. I was wrong. It’s not even manageable in pvp now because players just swat at my illusions and poof they’re gone. My only recourse is to use entirely ranged phantasms if I want to use mesmer now and hope that some random aoe or projectile doesn’t kill them before having been some use.

Our group wants to run Arah, which paths aren’t broken since we dont want to waste our time.

… to keep it in line with our general policy of not having a blast finisher in the same weapon set you have a combo field….
I’m curious about this, Karl. Lots of professions have a blast finisher in the same weapon set as a combo field: (Guardian Hammer + GS / Necromancer Staff / etc). I think this functionality is largely why these weapons are so useful, and think that if you have a general profession policy against it that you should revisit the policy. In my humble opinion, I think the reason why many weapon sets across professions in general are so bad is because they lack finishers entirely. Consider Necromancer Axe, Guardian Mace, and so forth and how these are largely considered inferior to other options.
I recognize this is the Elementalist forum, but you talk a lot about general profession policy, so I think this is an appropriate concern to voice.

Why you don’t fix the fact that on Fractals if someone dcs cannot re enter in Fractal?
We’ve got people working specifically on this issue, it has turned out to be much more complicated due to the way fractals are implemented than we hoped. We’ll have a fix for this soon as it’s tested enough we think it’s clearly solved and doesn’t cause any other issues.
We are at least a week and a half away on a fix for this, possibly longer depending on how long it takes to test it properly, we wouldn’t want to deploy anything that makes the issue worse!

Did I really just read someone representing for A-net say they will test something? YEAH RIGHT. Just like you spent so much time “testing” if temple of balthazar stopped bugging (bugged since Auguest 18th, or since launch) or “testing” the mesmers izerker (who now does 75% of damage and has a 1-2 second delay after cast making them useless)…… I have lost faith in you completely as a gaming company so stop filling the community with lies.
i love to see bug fixs more than i like seeing other content. so im thinking it was a great update. i’m always afraid that if they release too much stuff and not fix whats needed they put bugs on bugs. you know what that leads too super bugs. id love to see content come every two months with a hugs bug fix in the month between
