then you’ve still got the same problem, I run condition with staff and S/D, so I spend 20 in death magic for the 20% CD reduction and greater marks skills.
I still get forced to hear “MY MINION!” every few seconds after killing an enemy because of the kitten horror dying, I still have enemies in PvP ralling off it, but then again, the second minor makes up for it all, because having extra toughness for 5 seconds AFTER THE ENEMY DIES is so very helpful, right? (especially considering when I’m going to be in a fight with more than one enemy, I’m going to be trying to stay away from them, not facetanking the zerg)
You are preaching to the choir here, I’d love to see changes to the traitline because the majors are pretty attractive. And yes, hearing my character say something minion related every other minute is kind of annoying.

So I, for one, am super glad he is playing the necro.

I don’t doubt that the number of commander’s is going to grow and grow.
There’s a new bunch of commanders that popped up on my server, at one point there was 4 on a single map. I think it confuses the new players greatly because they have no idea who is who.
At minimum I think there should be a “favorites” system so players could put a mark on the commander they like, so on their own mini map, the commander they favorited has a different color than everyone else.
My problem with a drop-down for the commander is that, the icon itself doesnt not represent the experience of the commander. I’d like to see the red and green as more of a “progress bar” as well. A commander that’s mostly blue is likely to be a new commander, while a commander that’s half red half green or all red/green has been playing wvw for a while.

My biggest beef with the Commander system is not that it can be earned in gold, but the fact that as many people get the icon, there’s no way of telling who is more experienced than the other, who is trusted by the server.
Here’s my suggestion to the icon. And for the display icon itself only, I want a revamp of the mechanic to more of a warband just like everyone else
How possible it is, to implement the following:
1. For everyone with a commander icon, the icon starts blue/costs 100g or w/e Anet decide to change it to.
2. For every certain number of PVP kill, the icon turns slowly RED. (Red color creeps in from the right side of the icon) Therefore people who likes to play offensively can follow a commander that matches their playstyle.
3. For every fort upgrade, repair, ding on defense events, the icon turns slowly GREEN. (Green color creeps in from the left side of the icon) Therefore people who like to play defensively can follow a commander that matches their playstyle.

4. The brightness of the icon increases with a kind of vote/+1 system. Where the player can right click on the commander icon and “like” a commander. Say you need a minimum of 1000 "like"s to have the faintest glow and 10000 votes or something to get the brightest glow around your icon.
What does everyone else think? I don’t know if it’s even do-able, but it’s something I’d like to see to improve upon the current system.

Plague form is pretty good in wvw. I wouldn’t go lich in wvw because that’s just asking to get focused. (Look! Giant green thing!)
With wells we are pretty good at keeping enemies off choke points and walls.

I hate how the developers seems to think the DS is OP… yes it’s a bit of extra health, but unless you go 30SR, we just get knocked around in it = x=
If you get stunned in DS, you better hope it’s not a theif or warrior on your kitten because they blow through DS in less than a second while you are CCed.

Problem is a lot of MM QQ about how it would make their build unviable. So I guess Anet would have to try to balance without shafting the MM.
and yah shrouded removal is kind of awesome. I also wanted to play around with Reaper’s Protection… since we don’t really have any good CC counters besides plague signet.

Harro~ I feel like the 2 major issue that plagues the necro (har har) in terms of balance and viability are the following:
1. Scaling
I feel that a lot of our issues has to do with scaling For example, a full 30 points in the blood line gives about 10~20HP per hit. Keep in mind with 30 points in blood we’d have around 25k HP… the heal here is not scaling with vitality/healing power. (not to mention the 50% more heal trait is bugged, scaling issue here as well I suspect, but the new patch to vampirc should make it betterrr?)
The damage of Feast of Corruption is another example, I feel like it should be doing a lot more damage when the target has like 8 conditions on them vs. none. I’m not saying we should be doing warrior-level damage with our auto attacks, but if you look at the damage of heart seeker when the target is at 20% health and at 100% health, and the damage of Feast of Corruption when the target has no conditions and 7~8 conditions, you can clearly see the scaling issue there.
I think MM suffers from this issue quite accutely. Even the elite summon feels quite squishy at max level, for the damage they were doing anyways.
2. Utility/Trait pigeon-holing
We only get 1 F-key function, and that is the deathshroud. Everything else is pushed into utilities. I feel that MM gets so shafted by this, and other builds feels very… one-dimensional due to this as well.
Then, because MM are so shafted, they have the entire minors of the Death Magic line dedicated to them. It ends up pigeon-holes everyone, because minors shouldn’t be depended upon the utilities you take. I don’t see why we can’t have F2 be a sort of “summon/shatter” for a reworked minion… that way everyone can utilize a game mechanic that brings more variety into our gameplay.
Here’s how I envisioned it to work, discussions welcome:
F1 Deathshroud
F2 When passive, summons bone minion that has less HP (max 2) when you kill something. Pressing it explodes the bone minions. There’s no cooldown, but you can only summon more when you kill something.
and for the love of all things unholy, make sure enemies can’t rally off of our pets!
Some of you might say “That’s OP!”
No it’s not.
Consider this, many of us cries for a bump in weapon damage. Warriors easily hit 3~8k depending. While that 2k~2.5 was the highest burst for me (not traited for power but all my armor/jewel is power/toughness) So having minions has a F-function that can shatter/explode do about 800~1k damage once in a while adds to that much needed dmg output bump we need (esp for power builds), while also adding to the variety of the gameplay. One more thingy to press, yey!
What does condition build gain from this? well… not much besides some extra dmg and……….. something to freakin hit the environment/structures with, since those don’t bleed and are usually a pain in the kitten for condition builds.
What does MM build gain from this? Extra utility slot!
Some might say “that’s not worth losing jagged horror over!” or they rather take the cooldown on bone minion instead of having it be summoned on some sort of condition. But I think the utility slot is worth it, you have so much more to play around with when you don’t have all utilites devoted to pets.
Lastly, it kind of keep in line with the whole dark theme of necros, raising dead things from the ground etc.

The scoring system needs overhauled. It needs to reward points based on how difficult an objective was to take(IE if they defend it again and again then it is worth more when captured), points need rewarded for successfully defending, kills should give tiny fractions of points that add up, killing siege equipment should give points, etc. Basically a system where if there is no one to defend then it isn’t a complete blow out. There are flaws with this system but it at the very least is better than the current system.

I don’t believe the asians, aussies, EU players should be punished via population caps.
I don’t believe they should be restricted to play.
I don’t believe their points should worth “less” than NA players.
HOWEVER, the current way points add up DEVALUES the contribution of NA players, because in all fairness they have the hardest resistance.
So I believe that the only way to make 24/7 battle fair is to:
1. Have part of the points be a 15 or 30 min tick. Have the other part be added instantly.
2. Give points for every player killed.
3. Give points for every siege killed.
4. Give points for every successful defense (same 2 min tick as event) to encourage holding objectives instead of flipping them.
5. For every tick of successful defense, it adds a bonus to the offensive team’s tally when the objective was finally taken.
and finally…. SWITCH THE ORB BUFF WITH OUTMANNED BUFF!! (and possibly make the outmanned buff more powerful by how much one side is outnumbered by. Say t1 effects when outnumbered by 25, t2 effects when outnumbered by 50, t3 effects when outnumbered by 100)

I personally think the other downed state (besides mesmer, theif, and guardian) should be buffed up to par with those classes.
Why? Because ANet already said that the downed state is an opportunity for the player to rally up before being dead dead. It should annoy the players trying to stomp as much as possible.
I think it would help if that fear becomes aoe, that’s frankly all the buff to it we need.

I think SBI and ET proved their point (that they can beat HoD) during the weekend, I myself slept super early so i can wake up at 4~5am and fill in our weaker shifts. There are a couple of people I see on TS doing the same. Fact is that we can’t do that during the week, but it just mean we need to recruit more offpeak players so eventually we can be a strong 24/7 server.

They are clearly throwing the match so the coattail riders would transfer off to the new #1 server, therefore lowering their 3~4 hour que at primetime. It is a very clever tactic, but I see right through it you evil mofos!

Well during the week, most players cant stay up late/wake up extra early to play during the offpeak hours.
If you looked at mike’s chart, HoD got very even coverage throughout, while ours falls off significantly during the week.

On Topic! I feel that because the lack of stability or stun break, DS is not exactly a game changer. A warrior/thief/ele and even ranger can burn through it really quickly.
At least make Doom AOE or something, if im a cloud of death, I should instill fear in the hearts of my enemies around me! not just the one person!

I’ve been advocating making the pool smaller when it is untraited, and scaling the pool better when it’s traited.
Or making the cooldown longer (12 sec?) but have it break stun. (Our stun breaks are pretty bad atm… cept plague, which is brokennnnnn)

Well if they are distributed via events, it might be easier to make them a currency item (gained along side exp karma and gold at the end of the event, automatically appears in your bag).

Another idea when outmanned: Deploy a cattlepult at your spawn that will shoot you to a random location in the zone (that is not directly on top of a capture point). This will make organizing a little difficult but cattlepults are fun and it stops spawn camping.

I dissagree there. I think the PVE in this game is awesome. This is my opinion though. I like to play pvp and pve. GW2 is awesome at both. Its not solely about PvP Guild wars is from lore not because its a mainly pvp game.. Thanks for reminding us that server transfers r being cancelled or at least put on a 24 hr limit. Though I was dissapointed at first not being able to switch servers to rectify any bugs in pve, i understand why they have done it and anything they do to stop the exploiting im behind 100%…
I think PvE is pretty fun too. I do apologize on not elaborating my point:
in any game theres 3 kinds of people:
1. People who PvE only, can;t be bothered to PvP
2. People who enjoy both to various degree
3. People who never steps foot into PvE if given the choice. (quite a lot of people I know from GW1 never PvEed)
So right now something that affects PvPers exclusively (high population ques) are affecting the enjoyment of the 1 group.
But from another perspective, the 1 group is negatively affecting the enjoyment of the other 2 groups as well: on certain servers (read: IoJ), on certain NA times, their server population is still FULL, so nobody could transfer into the server… yet their que for WvW is low. Meaning there are people online to prevent more population flowing into the server, yet there are not enough PvPers for the WvW maps. This is affecting the enjoyment of PvPers who want to tank up in WvW.
If we had a PvE only server, maybe it would help. I don’t know.
But right now WvW affects bonuses in PvE, so it draws more all those three player groups to the servers participating in WvW, even if one of those groups doesnt participate in PvP.

I rather they lower the CD for the staff fear and inc it to 2 seconds. Doom can stay the same duration since it’s semi-spammable.
