Hello my lords of the 4 elements,
i fell in love for d/d ele, and wanted to know if, and if yes, how the elite spec will change our nice d/d cele ele.
I understand Roy wants us to test befor juge. But im pretty sure waiting toll BW3 and get tons of negativ feedback there aint the sollution. I mean we now have an utlity skill “Pain absorbtion” that will only block that utlity slot. Cmon, who wants to get the conditions from your team, but you cant get them cleansed off by yourself? And there is no positiv side on this.
The changes on skillag were nessesary after the nerf, but the energy upkeep makes me thinking we lost the old nice, mechanical good thought malyx. I can understand missplacement is very strong, and I dont want it back. But the hole machanic was thought through well. Fitted nice lore based with malyx, and was very unique but still Not op or smt. It had its skillcap high and thats what the game needs anyway!
Im Not ammused with this… Condition Mainstream Crap you call malyx revenant now. Id rather play my necro now.
Lets hope so, i would be very disappointed if they just decive us like this.

Having the same Problem. I payed 100€ for not testing at all?!
Cant create a new Charakter via double click, and the “create” button on the bottom right is greyed out. Cant test any of the cool anouncements you made!

how do we do now the best DPS possible for our profession? I dont wanna hear “We got nerfed”, i wanna hear what weapons, what traits and what utility/heal/elite skill now our best bet is.

Nice number-messuring there, i like it alot! Hybrid will not be vailable i think, for condi dmg you need to focus only on that, and power is the same with 3 stats maxamising dmg there.
some dps-meter mod would be awsome after 23 of june to see what is doing more dmg.
Just work with what we have got. thats what we have to do anyway. and the “tourch” traid is also good for non tourch skills.
you can have so nice synergys with on block and on aegis end. i know thats not everything, but at least something to start of.
i also think that 20% more dmg in our symbols is not the best, but after some weeks we can see how good it realy is
Okay, than use both. maybe that will work. im still thinking that traid is disinged for hambow dragon hunter guards
Where do we get nervs? I dont see any problem for us in PVE.
And in WvW we are still top, at least in zerks.
Spvp we have our roles, and they are still our roles. nothing new here, but nothing bad either.
Just keep calm and think about GS Zeal+Honor. PVE thats very good , bc NPCs dont go out of symbols often, and they do evrything we need.
Man as a guard you block a lot, just think about focus 5 (i assume you use a focus as offhand bc you want to do burst dmg in 1v1), shelter and your F3. free bruning, also more dmg on burning is nice. best option there.
ok if you think you dont use an offhand GS/Hammer/Bow or Mace than put out Symbolic Avenger and use Shatterd Aegis. Thats also a very good trait, since as power guard it can crit for around 3k i guess.
Ok with an IDC empowering might wont be the best, but it also support yourself. and have tons more endurence isnt bad in 1v1 situations either, bc you dont TANK dmg this way, you AVOID it. thats exactly what you need if you cant take dmg in your face with zerker builds.
and thats not everything honor gives you.
guard will be very potent in 1v1’s, even better than now.

Here you have a build with Zeal / Valor / Virtutes.
Hammer / GS Medi Guard. Just look at it. So much synergys in it. Shatterd Aegis is such a good trade on power guards now, bc it crits for 3k dmg. just think about this in groops, you can give it to your m8’s as a stunbreaker, and the moment it ends, you also get retaliation. the enemy will hurt himself so much, and you didnt even start doing your dps. i feel like this will be a nice build

This is Radiance / Zeal / Honor
Just use the new elite shout for more team dps, also deffensiv support. in utility use wall of refelction bc its nice for lots of sitiuations, and 2 shouts, maybe retreat and the protection shout. heal shelter bc its good, or the heal shout if more groop support is needed.
Thats my perspectiv, zerker gear, power support guard will rock the new meta. and it will also still use zerker, so no new equip is needed.

you can use 2 Weapon Sets. And why Honor no? Empowering Might without ICD? Here some calc form that_shaman trait line thingy. just look at it and see how nice we can zerk things down. #synergyisstrong
Okay thanks! That was just a try to get as much condi dmg as possible, to show out that condition damage will be more than only vailable on necros.
on the other side i hope my ascendet zerker armor wont be useless now, because power necro is so much fun to me.would be a shame to wait till the reaper to use this one again :/
Hello my fellow Guardians!
I am SO exited about the new Elites and the new Traits! We have an offensiv shout elite skill now, traided with 24 sec cd. In dungeans and fractals we will be mandatory: Just think about Zeal/Radiance/Honor Guard. Zeal & Radiance for DPS, Honor for reduced shouts and empowering might! it also gives us some nice endurence regeneration, to make it even more a piece of cake! Now we bring “Wall of reflection” and some shouts for defensiv support, and “Feel my wrath!” for offensiv support! We also get fury via traids, what means we have good critical chance, and crits gives us and our allies might! We bring everything whats needed in PVE:
Condi Remove (3 times, also converted into boons), prejectile reflection, might (tons) , heals (our doghe roll, maybe with our new heal shout) and still do 4th best dps!

i want to discus a generall quastion about necros today. With the changes to condition damage, the new traitlines, the new movement … oh nervermind we dont got any leap.
however, what do you think is/will be better to do the most damage possible?
A Condi Necro, in Sinister gear to get the most condi dmg ingame possible with our nice curses minor grandmaster trade?
or just the power necro with now 3 grandmasters vailible?
or maybe some kind of hybrid build, maybe sinister/zerker mix. Keep in mind reaper could have some chill as a damaging condition, while he whales the enemys with his giant scrye.
I have a feeling, that Condi Necros now will be meta for us. We can apllay lots of poision, bleeding and vuln in PVE. With Sinister Armor we have Very high condition dmg rating, cause it has Preci and Condi dmg, and that Minor earlier mentiont converts 13% preci into condi damage aswell, also the scepter trade for longer condition duration and even more condition damage.
They said, after a certain point (i guess they said 700Condi damage in the blog post) the condition damage will be higher than atm, because the scaling is changed for bigger numbers above 700. ATM without 13% bonus form preci form that minior we can get 1,6k condi damage ( http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQJArNAA-TxRAABA8AAET5HT7PEq6PGcCAIUPQbKBDAgAMzyMAG6QH6QH6QbmzcmzcmzsUAPqsC-e here a link, thats without 300 points from traid line, with rabid and runes of the undeath.)
So with 25 stacks of might, a fully stacked sigill of corruption we have 2,6k condition damage. As a necro with lots of poision and bleeding tools we should get the most dps out of this.
That are just my thoughts. WHat do you think? I know those numbers are saying not as much atm, but i guess its nice to know, be able to have 2 stacks of bleeding for 33 sec deal 11k dmg to the enemy from Blood is Power. Dont forget it also gives might to nearby allies now!
I feel like we will deal insane damage to bosses in PVE with our conditions soon, and im very happy about that.
Guys, as a fellow Necro i have to say: dont cry so much!
Consume Condi was just so potent, bc it was/is atm one of the best healing skills in the entire game! In a balance patch its a MUST that they nerf that good skill. And to be honest, im happy to see the didnt change any numbers at all from that skill. Just think about no vuln on cast, but less heal. You would not use it anymore (if the numbers are very low).
Now it has tradet less cooldown than befor, still cleanse ALL your condis and applys some vuln. That not the end of the world.
The new signet of vamparism seems also very potent. In DS it heals, and just 3 enemys with DS4 means tons of HP and good Lifeforce, still avarange DPS and some staing power in a teamfight.
The well is… well not my go to option. for spezific situations it might work, but its not that kind of support we bring to WvW or dungeons in the first place. also sPVP not very useable.
i dont like the minion AI in gw2, so i dont talk about that bloodsack of minion what is supposed to be a healing skill. Its just a bad joke, some1 who realy hates necro’s must had the idea of this skill. but we have other options, so its just waste of hero points if you wanna get the flesh golem.

On Warharn/dagger ill switch air with energy, bc staff is for ds and loosing the bonus dmg on crit is smt i dont wanna loose.
okay spectral armor. doesnt it disapear the time i enter ds or will it stay? if it stays, it would be awsome.
the dmg while downed also helps me getting up with 1, and atm im often down.. it feels stronger than might on ds1 since im not using hoelbrak runes anyway

Here is a generell topic about Power necros in Spvp/ Tpvp. Im using this power necro build for 2 days now ( http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQNBmQDbkjmWarpx4GOcTcLUQHADwLEVGQ9bkGRLA-TJBFwACuIA12foaZAAPBAA ). I guess this is meta.
I need some generell tipps for this, besides not stand in the middle of teamfights.
- What is strongest rotation in lich form?
- What is best utility, spectral walk or spectral armor?
- Change Sigil?

And here are the thoughts about the new trait line systhem and reaper in combination with power nercro.
Since Wells ground target gets borderline, we dont need the curse line anymore. however we can still use it to maxemice dmg output. Also the warhorn traid is in curses, reduced rechargtime and longer swarm is very strong.
The option is death magic, for more substain and bigger marks and unblockable marks.
at least reaper could also nice synergies with power necro’s spite and soul reaping traitline. but reaper shroud forces us to join the enemy in meele and thats not very good.
whats your thougths about all this? Pls all your tipps about power nerco in sPvP.

in my honest opinion this elite spec is what it should be: skill based and showing us some different face of the guardian. I like the concept of this.
The “core” spec is just shouts, f1-3 random pressing in need and all your nearby allys will have some nice buff. It works pretty well and is the guarding core of the profession, but it feels a little bit to easy for me. Im a guradian main since launch, played the “core” in every of the 3 player environments, and it lacks of a high skillcap at the moment.
And the elite spec seems very nice to me! i mean, ok, the name is a little bit odd, but in the end of the day its just a name.
I expected something like “Paragorn” or more leaderchip spec and reading the first wall of text about the dragonhunter was very dissapointing.
“I dont wanna have traps like the thief or ranger!”, was my very first thoughts about it. traps seems so weak and not a very guardian-like type of skill. but after watching the “ready up” live stream i was HYPED. this was SUCH a difference.
You have the new F2, repositioning skill, what can heal allys and imobillice enemys. F1 is just a nice spear, what can reset on kill, stack burning very fast and with the grandmaster trait it gives you 15% (!!) bonus dmg while chaining to EVERY enemy stuck in your chain. thats very strong.
Your F3 now, if used corectly, is the strongest defensiv skill in game, and you need practice and awarness of the enemys powerspike to use it right.
All of these 3 skills still maintain their passiv’s and are bossted by traits. in MY opinion its the best way they could go with our F-skills. just those changes make me happy, because it will seperate the"good" guard players from the “better” ones. this skillcap was needed and its finaly there!
next thing was the new weapon, the longbow. the skills you get on this weapon are very good playing to the guardians weaknesses at the moment. also nice you dont have to use this weapon if you think you dont like it. but those skills are unike, strong and make me very happy. i cant wait for roaming in WvW with this strong kit!
and last, but not least, the traps. holy cow! i mean, you can make a thief sweat in his pans with this trap of light thingy, you have now an elite skill whats vailable besides “renewd focus” and you can go on condi-based things with this wonderful things & traits.
So i think, even if i wasnt expecting this, its a very nice addition to the guardian! its not op, but strong, and it opens new builds and roles for our nice knight of the light!
