This is the most obvious reason that shows thieves are extremely OP. If you read the forums you will see a bunch of thief buff suggestions and complaints about how underpowered thieves are. These threads are completely ignored by the developer, if thieves were not op why would they ignore the threads?

This is why I said that thieves are op, backstabs damage needs to be nerfed by at least 50%
I think ogre is great as it gives you a pet and also boosts your dmg. I would use fire sigil and air sigil for d/p and p/p to maximize dmg
turn 180 degrees and walk away.
And re-roll a dragon hunter or a rev. Then turn another 180 degrees and get back in the fight.
Reroll to dragon hunter, rev, druid, reaper, tempest: now your chances of winning just increased tremondously

Thief has been designed like that since day one. If you won’t adapt or get better, then pvp isn’t for you.

Hey boys. I main ele and honestly if u actualy saying thieves are op u should go hide yourself. thieves have low health base, incredibly hard play style compared to other classes. NO BLOCKS! NO STABILITY! NO INVULNERABILITY! thieves are the weakest class at this game in every game time, especially in pvp where their are horse kitten. If anyone says they are op again just shoot urself pls
The kitten you talking about? Thieves has a kitten ton of blocks, stabiliity and invulnerability. You must be a terrible thief because you are ignoring the secret trait line: The BLOCKSTABILITYINVULNERABILITYMASTER. Bruh every thief runs this, you must be really bad if you can’t find this trait line. To unlock this: you take your thief and jump off a cliff and die 1000000 times. After dying so many times, your body becomes used to the dmg, so you just become completely immune. Almost every thief has unlocked this, how come you still havn’t done it yet?
This achievement is not easy to find though. I found this in my Thief by accident while doing the Arah story mode. There’s also a visual que when you unlock this. Your Thief is surrounded by an invisible glow that shows everyone that you have unlocked the hidden Thief art called “Shadow Form”.
If you have HoT, you’ll easily unlock this achievement by not using your glider.
Exactly, this trait line is so easily obtained, yet thieves still say they are not op, they need to be nerfed immediately!

At some point you should calculate/create a formula to scale the troll potential of the average thief player.
ETA: And I already know the number:

x is the level of the thief! it’s always going to be above 9000
x is a real number where: negative infinity < x < infinity
T is the troll level measured in kittens (since Anet loves cats so much)

You do know DH has projectile destruction just from LB and f3 right?
If you engage in pure range combat, he’d out-sustain you for sure and kill you with his LB instead since he can negates your projectiles while you can’t do so.
It doesn’t matter if he can destroy projectiles wait until after he uses that projectile destroying skill then you shoot him with p/p. I use deadly arts + trickery, so I will also occasionally steal to him (boon steal + poison + weakness + healing for me) and then immediately dodge to waste his traps. You can also use dagger storm and smokescreen to block his projectiles. Further more place down a blackpowder under your feet before using p/p 3 so that you can constantly shoot blinding bullets.
This won’t always work, but it is the most effective way to beat a dragonhunter guardian. Another method is to kill him with condi, but I doubt you will be able to do any dmg with his removals. Don’t bother using melee, you just get killed instantly :P

Well, they were hiding… until ANet gave everyone and their mother skills that Revealed the imaginary Thieves. That would also explain why Thieves were not given those skills… because they were hiding when the skills were given.
Holy kitten that makes alot of sense! Thieves were left out of the power creep in HOT because they were hidden and Anet couldnt find them so thieves got nothing.

Thus, if two thieves were to + 1 a 3v5, it would still be 3 + 2T < 5 .
It also proves that a thief + 1’ing a 0v1 the opponent would still be at advantage, since 0 + T vs 1 -> T < 1 as shown above.
We just need a fight were X+T = Y to solve for T… and find out the true value of T (or rather, Thieves)

In all honesty though, thieves do need more nerfs. They still occasionally show up in pvp matches on the same team.But does the team win?
How do they win? The team with the two thieves is the same as having only three players, so it’s a 5v3 :P
If you play the game long enough, thieves become so easy to kill (unless you are a warrior :P)

I created this thread because I was bored and tired of all the thief nerfs and I wanted to see people’s reaction when I ask for more nerfs.
I still lose sometimes as thief, but most thieves cant beat me.

I am actually am lol. I don’t understand why you are crying without going to try specific counters for yourself instead of crying on the fourms like everyone else. Thief has many counters and if you have been defeated by one then you should try a different build or L2P. Theif is not over powered by any means.
Of course you will say they are not overpowered because you dont want your class to get nerfed.

Yeah, thieves are so OP, they should just be removed from the game. Their traps can oneshot you if stacked, they have a kitten ton of blocks/invulnerabilities/blinds. They’re also almost impossible to cc with all of their stability. Thieves are just way to good. Did you know a group of 4 thieves and 1 ele won an ESL tournament? That shows just how OP they are. Hell, I’m always jelous when the other team has more than one thief. A guaranteed win that one is.
exactly like wtf? who balanced this stupid class? The trait improvisation is insane, instantly recharging utility skills, this should be completely removed. Nowadays, with daredevil all thieves do is spam dodges that needs to be nerfed immediately! I propose that thieves should have 50% less energy regen than other classes. Thieves also have too much mobility so shortbow skill #5 needs to have its range reduced by half and it needs to have a cooldown of 10 seconds.

All thieves do is spam attacks such as heartseeker, and then they stealth. They are doing way too much dmg they do 10k backstabs easily, the moment they take any dmg they just run away in stealth like wtf? Worst of all, they blind you for days. This is simply absurd, they must be nerfed immediately, I think that the initiative system needs to be completely removed and add skill cooldowns to stop thieves from spamming attacks. Also increase reveal time to 10 seconds to punish stealth spammers.

Lost my cd key and purchase informatiOn only have account email name and password
I got a email saying that my account email changed but I never did anything. Also I was wondering how long does it take for someone to answer a ticket, is it even 24/7?
This got to be fixed because right now i have 2 accounts instead of one and one of them i have no idea why there was even a lv 80 on it.
so yesterday, i decided to change my email, so i contacted the support through my email and they asked me for my cd key. I told them it and they told me the email change was successful, however now when i log in i get a completely different account with a different lv 80 and my account is still there. I asked to change my email instead now i got 2 guild wars accounts with a lv 80 on both of them.

I do agree we need a better COMBAT LOG DISSOCIATED FROM THE CHAT WINDOW (sorry for the caps wanted to make that clear) including the names of our ennemy in the combat log please
Congratz for removing those orbs which were creating a major issue of balance between servers, it only took you 2 months to realize that, not so bad.
While we are at it, you need to implement something to reward players killing other players in World versus World, maybe a RANK or something close to that, which will give a MEANING for players striving to achieve something in that mode, thanks for listenning.
well we re talking about wvw, those areas are filled with mobs, but yeah I guess this class is the only one who just can not dodge at all
too bad I really wanted to give this class a try in wvw :<
guardians can easily escape with teleport from the sword/jump from the greatsword/teleport utility in meditation = dodge.
engineer can easily dodge by using the utility sick oil boot combined with other skills and traits
you should take closely a look in the classes before assuming they can’t.
there must be a way to dodge a zerg with this class, cmon every other class in this game besideds swiftness has a way to dodge
a build that would allow me to escape easily like any other class in this game when I’m outnumbered….. and handle several ppl if well played

As far as I’m concerned, I’m a passionate gamer coming from a long run on daoc/gw1 and so far from what I have seen, gw2 is full of potential yet still missing some little things which could make this game greater and that’s what I’m going to talk you about (hope you don’t get bored during the lines tho :p)
WvW :
1. The fact you have to loot the bags from the players in WvW is greatly impacting your gameplay experience and this featured should be changed by a more convenient way, no?
2. Whereas I can understand you are playing for your ‘server’ , I also do think players should be rewarded when killing other players on a more personnal level. I mean, we are playing a mmo there, and people (atleast from my perspective :/) want to achieve something meaningful over time which is not the case atm in world versus world (considering the fact most of the players are already geared).
3. You are aiming to be an e-sport game but there are things you need take into account if you want the fight to be skill oriented ( those stealth skills and clones skills simply ruin it from my perspective when you are in a large scale battle ) . I mean, let’s say you don’t like to follow a massive gathering of people and you are more like a solo run fielder or a group player which is understandable then the odds not to finish someone is so huge between those steatlh abilities and those clones , and then you include the downed state and you are clearly out matched leaving you no chance to actually kill someone in wvw by being alone or in a group against a massive gathering of people.
Let me be clear there, I’m not asking for any instant win buttons, but I want you to give more credit for people taking up on challenges by taking out a greater number of people against them in World Versus World. (starting by removing the limit of spells to 5 players for instance and maybe starting to add some crowd control spells ? I mean real crowd control spells (great duration-daoc like if you see what I mean)
4. Concerning the siege weapons, they are great, maybe way too much due to their range and their high dmg for some giving too much credit to people camping their keeps all day long… When you take a look at the config of the world versus world map you are nearly nowhere safe from the range of a siege weapon. It may also be due to the map being too small leaving not much of a place for groups to roam. I don’t know if you have ever played daoc at all, but there were guild groups roaming at some places, fighting other groups with a fair spirit and a no-add policy. I could send you videos to show you a sample of those fights if you are interrested to look into it.
5. The interface : well what can I say except the fact you can’t clearly dissociate the combat window from the discussion window, there are a lot of option missing to clearly see the combat logs, like color, police and some design maybe ?
Also there is a thing, I do not understand why in world versus world you can’t really tell when there is a fight going on between two others servers and you really can’t tell what’s going on unless you pay attention to the server tag (which you can’t really tell from far away). I was thinking maybe to add a special color for each server to recognize them from far away.
SPvP :
1. The balance is not yet out but I do understand it takes time to balance things out but what I was wondering for is if you are planning to add other modes pretty soon, because I feel somehow bored with this only mode currently proposed (no offense taken there, this is just my opinion) I was hoping maybe for a deathmatch mode close to the HOH and the GvG offered by GW1 which were amazing to me.
2. Unlike WvW, the downed state in SPvP is great and has its place, so I just wanted to tell you that.

because staff is way too dumb ? stupid casting time, stupid timers, awful dps which can be dodged more easily and you won’t be able to catch someone who is trying to flee with a staff not to mention you won’t be able to dodge as well
it’s just stupid to go staff unless you are in a zerg but as I said in my topic, I don’t plan to do that so stop pointing out facts everyone knows like range > all and acting like a pro because you def aren’t, thanks

the trait XI in arcana seems rather bugged (doesn’t dmg as expected) to me and is not effective due to the fact you are mostly dodging to save your life or an incoming burst and not as a way to dps which makes me wonder I should go until 20 in arcana
concerning the guy who seems to argue full berserker set with staff is the way to go….you are incredibly wrong and right at the same time : following permanently the zerg isn’t funny at all for some players. Besides, you will get insta killed by any thief/warrior/engineer with your set even in a zerg.

yes you definitely can, the thing is the game is 2month old, those isssues have been reported since day one and we haven’t yet seen the slightest tiny comment from dev about it which would give us any kind of hope.
no offense taken there, but Anet needs definitely to work out the communication with its core basis player.

I run 0/10/0/30/30 -d/d -mix invader/berserker set. Let’s say I’m against a decent engineer on the same level : I can’t do a kitten thing because I have to get close to him due to my range attack and if I do I get usually facerolled by all those bombs and I can be insta killed by big ol’ bomb and grenade barrage in 1 sec with a bad timing and if I don’t pay attention (which rarely happen but could happen still).
On the other hand how I’m supposed to dps him. Let’s take a look 3-4-5 from earth attunement is usually a good combo to start (but if I want to be sure to do that I will need teleport and stability and I will still get owned by its dps and I will certainly die if he does Big Ol bomb and grenade barrage at the same time due to the casting coming from 4-5 in earth attunement) yet it will most probably won’t work at all. Then I have some decent dps skill in fire but once again I have to be rather close which means risky to me against engineer with bomb/grenade and their elite (not to mention the fact It’s really hard to manage to get 3-5 in fire at their fullest extent against your opponent). Air and Water are decent but nothing tremendous when we take a look at the dps compared to other class.
Against a decent thief, needless to say steal-cloack and dagger-backstab in 1,5 seconds (if I don’t pay attention but still there is no way you could do that with an ele)=> dead
Otherwise I get punched by heartseeker at 5k permanently (with around 17k hp, do the maths).
Against a guardian, well I won’t say it’s hard compared to the other two classes but still it takes so much time to kill it, it just leaves an open window for an add and you are pretty much dead.
If we talk about other classes I guess it’s fine but engineer/thief dps is really broken mostly (big ol bomb/grenade barrage and the steal-cloak and dagger-backstab).

yeah of course, we are going to make some /emote to the other realm and making them understand we don’t fight each other and attack the ennemy together, taking notes.
Oh yeah, maybe it’s a common sense for you guys and for the dev but one thing they didn’t take into account is 80% of the players in an mmo don’t give a kitten about this so called logic. They see an ennemy, they rush him and follow him till death tear them apart and they are happy with it.
On the other sides, the 20% who figured out they need to team up to beat the winning realm, also understood they won’t succeed no matter what you can say or argue about, period.
And we end up with one realm having an overwhelming advantages (mostly due to their numbers) and to reward them, Anet decideds to give them a permanent bufff with the 3 orbs which is totally oped. Good job and Good luck for trying to get ppl attracted by this system.
