Bumping for the last day. No, I am not organizing a zerg. Expect at least a couple of deaths if you don’t already know all of the attacks and whatnot.

A bit late into the event to be offering but feel free to whisper me if I’m on and I’ll do what I can if I’m free. Please be patient, willing to listen, and have guests available in case I don’t if you come to me with a request. Depending on the amount of people that make requests at a given time, expect strategies and difficulty to vary.

Skele Lich Solo

@swampmonkcrab
The Lich crushes zergs if they have no idea what they’re doing or if they have no direction from a player experienced with it. The grasping hands skill summons at the very least one skeleton add per target hit, including pets, clones, and ofc players. They do a ton of damage, give themselves a Ridiculously strong retal (iirc 900+ dmg per one of my hits), and if they aren’t killed quickly, the Lich sacrifices all within a certain range and heals off of them. Unfortunately, it’s not that players in the zergs are necessarily bad but I would say that it’s pretty hard to even see the mechanics through the mass of people+particles.
@Weth
I’m pretty sure that’s above the average group of pugs, assuming that you’re built to solo things like this. Guessing that you or your class allows a good balance between dps and survivability so you could just facetank easily (not to say that you aren’t dodging) while chopping away. In the common zerg, you have more people slowing it down by scaling it up either by not having enough damage to match your’s (proportionally) or just dying. For this boss specifically though, they always stack to aoe the skeletons down too, which means plenty of them probably aren’t melee-ing.

Thank you two for your kinds words.
I was actually working on a vid for candy corn too but people kept running through and messing it up. Even if the laby horror’s running around, you can go to a certain corner whenever he gets close enough for you to see the event popup and just fight the CCorn there until it passes but if puddles go up (and into the wall) as the horror passes by, you’re kinda stuck in a tough place unless you can stealth.
When a random runs by though, they don’t know when to pull away and they just agro the laby horror and die to both at the same time. Even if you stay out of it’s sight, you kinda get wrecked by the aoe if you’re squishy, or screwed over by the boss regen-ing.
A tip to anyone who struggles with CCorn- the boss has two battle stances. One where he just punches, makes red circles, and summons bite-sized poops. You should be able to kite him around easily and just ranged him down or melee while tanking his punch and dodging the red circles. The other battle stance is where he spawns the puddles of candy corn coating and uses his ranged attack. Having the candy-coated buff makes you reflect the ranged attack, which would otherwise one or two shot you. Two important things about standing in the puddle for the buff. 1) If you get 10 stacks, you will be knocked down (okay to stun breaker/stability) but also lose the candy-coated buff until you stand in the puddle for another tick. That one tick without the buff can be what kills you. 2) If the puddle expires while you are standing in it, the buff goes with it and you will have to dodge the last projectile he’s throwing at you. If the puddle expires but you are not standing in it, you keep the buff for as long as you’re supposed to.

I’m not opposed to challenge but I don’t really feel the need to progress since they clearly don’t intend for most players to be above 50 yet. From what I’ve heard the only point in going up is to farm dredge which sounds pretty meh for me.
Lol, I guess I’ve seen enough threads where people get distracted by gold amounts (not to say that I have all that much) so I just block it out of habit.

Who's in charge here? Achievement

in Twilight Assault

ninro.2084

From a few runs now, doing PuG’s so I know when people get the achievement, it doesn’t seem that dying, disengaging (losing agro/leashing mobs), or even wiping matters at all. I ran it several times using Dulfy’s method, leaving a few on the far end, didn’t die and didn’t get credit for the achieve. However, both parties I’ve been in that got the achievement wiped plenty of times. It would seem that killing the boss before killing all of the crew is Somewhat correct. In both of the parties we’ve got the achieve in, we just stayed in the corner to the left of the entrance and killed as few mobs as we could before killing the boss. You can kill off a few on the close corner but leave as many as possible. It may be a little difficult for certain parties but we just killed Spur in the mentioned corner as to not agro any of the crew we didn’t have to, the are tethered to him so if you have Spur’s agro, they will agro to you as long as you’re within their entire agro range. However, Spur’s leash range is the entire room and the ABlades only have the leash range of a normal mob.

Clockheart Easier to Solo than..

This path is already out and changing this one specifically would probably change mechanics entirely, which is un-necessary. I don’t particularly want to see it go down like this in future boss fights though. Since the temporary release of Molten Facility, they’ve been trying to make the fights half-gimmick so you can’t just stack on a wall and kill it in seconds, which is great. We can only guess that more mechanic based fights are coming and I just wanted to point out a possible flaw (this might have been completely intended, I can’t say anything on that) that they might want to keep in mind.

#redundant #half-asleep post #braindump #toomanyhashtags
The Clockheart boss is a Lot easier to solo than it is to do with any group you aren’t constantly partying with. The boss doesn’t require any sort of specific class set up, only synergy. For each person that dies, you have one less thing to worry about; someone running away if you’re trying to melee, someone downing in a risky-res spot, etc. I play a full glass 30/30/0/0/10 thief and I’ve been pug’ing the Aetherpath because I do find it fun and I don’t like to Only run with my guild. On several occasions now, my party has wiped at the Clockheart and I’ve had to take out the remaining 25%-50% on my own. Today, one of my PuG’s wiped at about 90%, and I solo’d the rest of the entire fight. Unless you share the exact same mind with the rest of your party, it means that you will have to pay More attention and put effort into predicting their moves. When you’re alone, you control the entire battlefield. You can pull the boss whichever way you want, and he is EAAAASY to kite. You can pull the holopirate straight into the boss without having to worry about someone being on the wrong side. Yes, the fight takes longer alone (of course) compared to a party that can do it without wiping. However, most of the parties I’ve been in so far spend so long there, they even ragequit. Towards the start, I’d just let myself die after they all did so they’d get to see how the boss works and get their own practice in but waiting on them is way too tiring, and solo-ing it does Not benefit them at all.

This thread was not made just so I could brag, nor am I asking for any sort of change with the current boss. I’m Definitely not asking for things to be made easier. However, I think this was an unintended side-effect from design error or something of the sort. Don’t get me wrong, I really do enjoy the fight and mechanics. However, it simply shouldn’t be harmful to stick by my PuG’s, it shouldn’t be easier to solo something meant for a party.

Just wanted to drop by to say that I absolutely enjoyed SAB and share my personal opinions on a lot that I’ve read. 4 days into the patch, I had already completed all of TM mode (as well as normal), any time spent after that was just for collecting skins/achievements. No, the content here is not too hard, though some bugs were a Little frustrating. I think that the majority of the complaints aren’t even pointing out problems, people are just complaining about things that you can get past if you practice more or take your time to take in observations and apply yourself. The ONLY thing that I think was too hard for the average player/jumper was the pre-nerf gong tower because of how often you had to switch sides, but you could still mostly cheese it by dying right after hitting the gong and just waiting around at the bottom. “Too hard” is relative to the player and if you’re a casual, you shouldn’t be expecting to ace this entire PATCH. Guild Wars 2 already offers enough for casual players to the point where hardcore players are often being harmed on the side. A lot of you are also failing to realize that SAB=/=GW2. It’s a mini-game within the game that doesn’t support many of the normal mechanics you would see in GW2, although some progress in skill faster than others, everyone starts out as a newbie here. If you don’t like the mini-game, you don’t have to play it. If you’re going to argue that you’re doing SAB for the skins and nothing else, stop expecting to be able to get them for walking along a red carpet and being handed a cake. Hell, you could ask guildies or friends who enjoy the content to piggyback you through the entire thing unless you’re going to aim for TM skins. Don’t act like you’re entitled to something when it’s supposed to show that you have mastered this specific content.
PS I didn’t even buy an infinite continue coin until after I cleared Everything the first time.
@Josh – I know you may not be able to respond but still, huge thanks to you and your team, keep up the great work. It may be obvious, but I definitely still want to say that there are plenty of people that 100% love what you bring to the table but it is an acquired taste. If people don’t like what you do, then they just don’t and that’s on them. As much as you might want to, you can’t please everyone and there is absolutely no reason for you to feel bad about that. With regards to the lower number of players participating in SAB this time around, there are reasons other than “I don’t enjoy this.” Please remember that this was already guaranteed to happen when it was decided that you wouldn’t be able to run World 1 50 times a day just to get your farm on. My most sincere apologies for ANet silencing you the way they are and their inability to notice everyone saying that they want dev’s responding like people.

You can use it on any boss really, it’s just a free 200 damage. I normally only really feel like it’s useful on the storm wizard though, when he gets to the second phase of his non-dragon form and starts rushing you, you can bait one rush (he’s evading as he rushes so don’t attack during it) and between his rushes he’ll pause, where you can almost finish him off. You could also use it on the dragon but since there’s a cast time I’d recommend using it right when his invuln wears off so you don’t disrupt your nunchuck combo which is pretty fast damage already.

Teleporting Hack in WvW? (w/ video)

A few days ago, I was fighting an ele with two friends on my side. We’re all almost absolutely sure he was hacking. One of my friends was a thief, he’s not full glass but he’s pretty high on damage, and although I can’t actually confirm this part, he claimed that one of his backstabs only did 200 damage.
When we did down him, he started using his mist form and then completely disappeared off the map, off the screen all around us. There’s absolutely no way you should even be able to stealth when you’re already downed and we’ve gotten pretty familiar with the game, we would’ve found him if it were that simple. To make things worse, this was in Yak’s Bend Borderland, and the ele was from Yak’s Bend. Less than a minute later, we found him at south-south camp which is way too far away from their citadel for him to have used any type of in-combat waypoint bug. We downed him quickly the second time and the exact same thing happened, downed mist-formed for one second and then disappeared Completely.

Sotzz the Scallywag in Bounty Training...Why?

My guild did our bounty two days ago and I’m confirming that this is a problem. Although I can’t say this for sure, it seems most likely that the barrels spawned once, when the server was last reset, but the script that’s supposed to make them respawn after x amount of time isn’t working properly. We’ve done Sotzz many times already and the fact that we encountered as few barrels as we did was the problem, not that we couldn’t get him to spawn from breaking them.

Agony resistance bugged?

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: ninro.2084

ninro.2084

Had this problem ever since one of the Wintersday patches; sent in a couple of bug reports but I don’t think it ever did get fixed. Re-gearing only helps some of the time, and randomly at that. It’s an extremely annoying bug to have to deal with since you’ll be dead before you know that you’ve been affected by it again, but it also seems that not very many people are having trouble with it. Made a thread a long while back and didn’t have a single person post in it confirming that they also had the same problem, nice to see that it really isn’t only me. It seems to be happening less for me now than it used to, but that might just be because I’m constantly re-gearing just in case before every boss fight.
tl;dr yes

Agony Resistance Bugged

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: ninro.2084

ninro.2084

So my character’s had 30 AR for a while now, and the game keeps randomly miscalculating how much I have. I very often have to unequip and re-equip my gear, and it only helps some of the time. I’ve already reported this in-game twice and submitted a ticket, and I’m still having the same problem. This is starting to get really annoying because there’s no way of knowing when it’s bugged until after I’m dead from taking 12k ticks with MAX resistance. As far as I know, nobody else is having this problem (everyone I’ve grouped with and asked has been completely unaffected and don’t know anyone else that is). Any help/a fix or at least confirmations that I’m not the only one would be very much appreciated.

More convenient gear/tool swapping

in Suggestions

Posted by: ninro.2084

ninro.2084

First of all, just going to say that I haven’t browsed through the suggestions section myself so apologies in advance if I’m repeating anything that’s already been said. Not quite sure what else to say other than that I’m tired of having to constantly open my inventory/hero tab to switch between magic find/combat gear and different tiers of gathering tools.
I feel that there should be able to switch between two different sets of armor easily, like you can with weapons. There would be a “Set A” and “Set B” so that it would be quicker for a player to switch between two builds or looks. If any gear slots in one of the sets is empty, the helmet for example, the helmet from the other set would be left on if there were one. The set that is not currently in use could either stay equipped in the sense that it doesn’t get sent back to the inventory (though, of course you wouldn’t receive any extra bonuses) or it could go back into the inventory (and the amount of gems that go toward unlocking the last bag slot would remain unaffected by this feature). You would not be able to switch while your character is in combat.

For tool swapping, it could be something simple.. Maybe just a button or keybind somewhere that would let you switch all three tools to each tier. One for copper, one for iron, etc. up to master’s. Again, you would not be able to do so in combat. If you were to hit a tier without having any tool of that kind, it would alert you and keep that slot with whatever it had before.

If it isn’t already clear, the point of these changes would only be convenience. The only new, possibly unfair advantage we would be getting otherwise is being able to quickly switch your gear in wvw/pvp based on the situation you’re in. If you’re running around alone in wvw and you engage someone, it would be possible for one to run away until they’re no longer in combat and switch to either a tanky/damage set, and then chase their enemy again.

Too tired to re-read and revise this, so sorry if it’s a bit unorganized or unclear.
