Yes, I’m 100% positive. A few month ago when you did it, it wasn’t bugged. If you Google around, you’ll find several reports about this dated around 1 month back. But before knowing that, I’ve been camping at the event for many hours and days straight. While camping, I’ve seen so many others came and left disappointed when they found out it just won’t start. I’m definitely not alone.
Uhm.. I did the event two weeks ago (because I never had harpy feathers), right on the day they released the new collections. Didn’t wait more than 10 minutes.
It probably broke in the meantime I guess..
Sent a ticket about 2.5 hours ago, and no response as well.
Because they don’t want to.
Yup.
Been there for 2 hours + and counting. The rabbits are still safe in their pen and don’t seem to have any intention to escape.
By not presenting us the real situation, they allow us to come up with the worse scenarios possible, they make us lose faith in them, and (even though you might argue it’s just a game, it is a game we invest real time in) they kind of hurt us.
It’s pretty obvious they purposefully don’t fix the bugs. The question is why?
Just add it to a vendor.. Just make it auto-complete… Just remove it all together.
How much do we have to beg you?
Yea. Seems still bugged. Astralaria’s simple vendor bug not fixed either.
This is a mockery.
Friend of the pups has just been fixed. Check the vendor in Caledon.
We don’t know yet about friend of the rabbits. Waiting for the event now.
Friend of the pups fixed! The vendor sells the item.
Edit: Waiting with about 15 other players to see if the bunny event spawns.
still bug is a bug. and for ppl not having enough money to buy a prec, it is as frustrating to wait for a bug fix as it is for u.so no I dont understand why u should have to right to whine about 10 days and others waiting for weeks shouldnt. being able to craft the prec is also an important feature of the game now.
Not saying it’s ok for the old pre collections to be still bugged (because it’s just as bad), but your point about not having money to buy one is invalid, since obtaining it through a collection is just as expensive as buying it iff TP for most.
I think I can compare them to a precursor collection. Time=money.
Ah, I see. So we all found our 2500 Gold for the legendary in a trash can and didn’t invested time to gather all this? Ok.
And by the way: It isn’t the Precursor Collection, it is the legendary Collection(T4) which is bugged.
The Precursor is fortunately obtainable.
I think Maris meant that time also equals money and that farming for something that can’t be bought can be also translated into money spent. I don’t think he meant that we didnt put in effort for the collections. Just that there’s also other types of effort, not just gold.
@Maris: I did check reddit regularly and there has been no mention about the bugs (after the Protector of All bug). Even if these forums are a toxic environment, it’s not proffessional to provide valuable information in other environments (as comments in other peoples threads even) and not provide them on the official forums.
And I don’t think any of us believes they will fix the bugs faster the more people complain. But it might be beneficial in the future to make them realise the impact that their decisions have on people. Maybe they won’t provide fixes faster, but the silence treatment never helped the situation. Maybe they could at least work on a better way to communicate with their playerbase.
Part of the legendary experience is getting involved in all aspects of the game. Known bugs and unpolished content is a core part of the GW2 game design.
This. Laughed so much
So true though… cries
At this point I’m basically just angry with them and at how they don’t give a kitten about us. And by us, I don’t mean just us doing Nevermore.. Basically they don’t give a kitten about any player, judging by the amount of bugs.. Astralaria is just as undoable as Nevermore, H.O.P.E. has serious flaws, albeit doable, and some of the old pre collectiones are in a really bad state.
They could argue that they’re focusing on revamping WvW, but what’s the point? It’s just gonna be more content that people can complain about. They keep piling bad things on top of other bad things, while not making anyone happy, and they’ll end up with a big pile of kitten.
Really unbelieavable that a major feature released 11 days ago is still bugged. Have not seen this in any game I played.
I… dont know whats happening to me. Every morning I wake up and the pick up the phone to see if there was a patch.
This! So much of this…cries
Ok guys i’ve recieved answer to a ticket about these bugs and i’ll share it with you. Not much direct info but at least we know they know and working on it. Also asked em to answer directly on this forum hope they will, cheers and good nite all!
Sadly, that’s just a standard answer and it doesn’t tell us anything. Of course they were aware of it. And of course it will be fixed. The question is when? Now 1sr of December patch doesn’t sound so ridiculous to me anymore. No chance to have it before this weekend, I guess.
Guess you made something wrong, the first time you tried to get the dialogue. Just my Raven was with me, no other collectibles, and i got the dialogue option for the collection.
Topic Bump, still no clarification? Disappointment is growing bigger and bigger.
They burried their heads in the sand…
^That too, but mainly, fix the actual progress blocking bugs. It’s ridiculous to have to wait so long for a feature that was advertised as part of a paid expansion, because of some very minor bugs. You may have new features and content to plan, but making the content you promised available asap should be a priority.
I (and i believe many others) have worked my kitten off to have everything that I could ready before the patch. You guys handled very fast the bug on part I and I was proud of you.. Only to be hit by this now. Your treatment (and not just regarding Nevermore, Astralaria has an easy fix problem as well) is disrespectful towards us. I’m pretty much tired of refreshing the dev tracker and checking for a patch first thing in the morning.
I haven’t been so excited about something in the game in 3 years… I’m getting kitten bored of waiting to the point of not caring.

Why you torture us, ANet?
I was actually really expecting/hoping for a fix last night. To my knowledge, these should be easily fixable, so it seems they’re just holding back. They’ve been so quick and vocal about issues with last weeks bugs… The silence and delays this time is just disheartening.
Can you please give us an update? Or even better.. a fix?
I want my pretty Nevermore
That would be ridiculous. Bug fixes should come when needed, as usual, not with feature patches. They fixed the Protector of all bug pretty fast, these ones are no more difficult.
I think it’s extremely random. I waited for about 2h in one session, 3h in another session, then the next day I logged in the map, went back to sleep and when i woke up saw the event was ongoing and rushed to the rescue (don’t remember how long it passed). At least it’s not totally broken like the bunny one..
Just hand bunnies and puppies out! Give them for free, we’re ready
Just do it!
During the “Protect the Own shaman as she purifies the snow owls”, it’s also very important that nobody attack the totem. If the totem gets destroyed during this event, it’s over. You have to wait for this event to complete, the totem needs to be intact, and then another event spawns, in which a veteran Svanir comes. You kill the veteran, you then kill the totem, and then you get the reward.
It’s not easy, since its a very populated area and it’s nearly impossible to convince a bunch of low lvl players, just minding their own, to not do events normally. I witnessed name calling, yelling, lying.. Bad design for this one.
You get friend of the Owl Spirit from the event where you have to kill the Veteran Shaman and then the Totem, so.. two preceding events have to fail for this one to happen.
We were about 20 people there yesterday and one person had to resort to deception to get the new players to stop trying to complete the events normally. This shouldn’t have to happen..
Maybe look at the spawn timers for events like “Stop the grawl from stealing drake eggs” and the Plains of Ashford metas.. Waited about 6 hours total for the Grawl event until I saw it (one session of 2h and one session of 4h).
Friend of the Pups → NPC offers Friend of the Hounds, so it’s unobtainable.
The rabbit event in Queensdale don’t seem to spawn, camped it for hours. Is it even in the game anymore?
I didn’t get the item the first time I did the DS meta so I tried again. The second time I did get the drop. Im not sure if its just RNG or not but just incase its not, I did the north lane events without ever leaving the north lane. I also was in the boss killing team and made sure to attack all the pods (also we did not let any of the pods respawn, no idea if this helps the achievement at all)
This is exactly how it happened to me as well, only the second time I did it on the middle lane, and, as you, made sure to be very involved in the Blighting Tower event. Got it on second try.
1 and 3 spawn, they just have long timers in between. Try guesting to increase your chance finding them.
Might not be bugged, but should be looked into as well, even though not as a priority. Seems like poor design to have people wait for hours (2++) for an event to spawn.
1. The meta events in Plains of Ashford seem to not reset or are on a very long timer.
2. Completed the event for “Fried of the Owl Spirit” → “Protect the owl spirits from Jormag’s minions”, but didn’t get progress towards the collection.
3. Been waiting for 2 hours for the event in Wayfarer → “Stop the grawl from stealing drake eggs” to spawn, and it still hasn’t.
Didn’t bother yet with the Friend of the Houds, Friend of the Pups or Friend of the Rabbits since people say they’re broken.
And how about that “Unknown” ascended ring that wiki lists as a component for Gift of Nevermore?
I find it hard to believe that any testing team would be able to overlook such bugs, so it makes me wonder if they’re here on purpose. Are we not supposed to get these legendaries?
In any case, here’s to hoping for quickfixes.
Can you at least tell us that you’re aware or explain what’s stalling you for so long?
I still hope it will be done before the weekend.
Hey. The bladed coat boxes are a reward for completing Tier 4 in the Verdant Brink nighttime meta event. The reward is guaranteed if conditions are met, so no RNG involved. I suggest you use the open world tab of the LFG tool. You can constantly find taxis for player organized maps. I got around 10 boxes this way. Good luck!
Hey. My boyfriend opened a ticket 4 days ago, when he was told his case will need to be reviewed, and since then he has gotten no additional response. Can someone please look into it?
It’s been already a long time since he was unjustly banned for “third party” stuff.. And I know for a fact that he didn’t use any such programs. I don’t know how you can be sure about it, but you’re wrong. I’m leaving for college next week and we finally have some time to play together. He also worked really hard in gw1 to get those HoM achievements and had had no violation.. Would be a shame to lose his account. So even if you’re “sure” he did wrong (which he did not), just.. unban him

Hi!
Wicked Gods [GOD] is currently a developing guild, which started as a farming project and recently moved to Desolation. But now we want to be much more than that! We want a home, a place in which everyone can know everyone.
Why?
During my GW2 experience, I kept joining big guilds, thinking it will be fun, only to find myself completely lonely in a mass of people. Everyone had their own friends, everyone had other people they chose to play with, and new people were left on the outside. When I joined GOD I very soon fell in love with the people. And now I’m trying to help it grow and reach it’s full potential.
What you should expect
At the moment, it’s not a fully upgraded guild, due to the recent move to Desolation, but we’re working towards that. More active members will make that easy. We are a small number of representing people, but we have grown to be good friends. We are just starting recruiting in Desolation, shifting focus from only farming, to broader content.
We enjoy chatting, having fun, goofing around, doing Living Story, Dungeons, Farming, tPvP, WvW. Practically a little bit of everything. But with strength in numbers, the sky is the limit. We like doing organized farms and would probably get into higher end PvE, if we’d have enough people.
What we want from you
Just be yourself, be fun and relaxed and you’ll learn to love us
You can be crazy, or grumpy, or an addicted farmer (like me!). We want mainly active and dedicated people, that can help us build what we are striving for. Grow together and help everyone know everyone and ultimately, maybe become real life and long time friends. With a bit of patience, it will become an awesome community. Also, be from Desolation and represent most of the time (that’s the whole point, duh xD)
If you think we see eye to eye, feel free to whisper me in game and have a chat. To us, every person is important ^^
I havent gotten one myself, but two members of my static party got it on the 4th daily we did. So theory disproved. The answer to the question for them would be:
1. no
2. 4
3. 1
4/5 party online and waiting

@ Shadow
You say you take the time to check everyone on gear/tactics/builds etc. Yet you failed everytime. Seems like you’re doing something wrong. Since this dungeon is kind of a joke. Except some of the encounters/mechanics (eg. the swamp, which needs player understanding, cooperation and coordination), all 9 possible rooms are extremely easy. Gear does not show how experienced you are so I assume you’re probably coming from WoW or other similar game that has gear checks before dungeons. It doesn’t work like that here. And since I don’t hear anyone else complaining that they can’t complete the fractals, I’m gonna go ahead and say that the problem is you and the people you found. Maybe you lack leadership skills.
I have completed first 2 levels with a level 30 in the group and I am currently at level 7, all done in PUGs with not so much as a single wipe (except the one time we quit because one of us got disconnected). The dungeon is amazing, fun and very well built. I sincerely can’t figure out what’s wrong with your team setup, and all the 15 pugs you’ve been with have a single common denominator.
Who in their right minds doesn’t want their character to get more powerful?
Your character doesn’t get more powerful. Your numbers go up, and the enemy’s numbers go up just as much. Without adding Ascended equipment, new content would be designed and balanced based on the maximum player power level – a level 80 character in full Exotic gear. With Ascended equipment, the exact same new content will be designed and balanced based on the maximum player power level – a level 80 character in gear comprised of Exotics and as many Ascended pieces as there are available, until it’s entirely Ascended gear.
Your character doesn’t get more powerful. Your character is made weaker, and you have to grind for new equipment to make yourself as powerful as you were to start with.
I know that. But the new content is just a minimal part of the game. While your level is still 80, and the mobs in the new area/dungeon might be adjusted to your boost, the ones in all the other areas of the game that are lvl 80 or not, will remain the same. That’s what I meant by more powerful.
I would rather have more traits, more fixes, runes to add to your character to make you stronger, ANYTHING but gear.
Sure, anything goes. If they gave us stronger runes or something..anything to have a little bit of character progression. Cause I just got the best gear plus my first legendary for my third character and except for this new patch I really don’t know what else to do..other than more characters. I don’t like all the dungeon armors and I sure don’t want to grind for cosmetics during all my GW experience.
They could have added a new type of upgrade that could be applied to the existing gear. First you create a new slot, then you put the upgrade in, or something along these lines.
But if this is the way they decided to go for it..It’s not that big of a deal. A backpack and a ring… We didn’t have many backpacks anyway, was about time for a good one.
As for the future, they said they will add the rest of the ascended gear and all.. They could give players the opportunity of upgrading their existing gear up to that level by putting it in the forge with 3 other items obtainable by playing the content, even casually. So yes, I want gear progression, I would rather not lose my existing items, and to tend to the casual majority, not have it as a month grind.
But, as opposed to other games, the greens that drop in the new expansion don’t crap all over you high end gear you farmed a few months for. And, you can still enjoy all the game (except for the new dungeon) without ascended/infused or even exotic gear.
Who in their right minds doesn’t want their character to get more powerful? So what, you have to farm a little for better gear, big whoop. It’s not like you have a lot to do after finishing most of the content. And the gear upgrade comes naturally by exploring the new content. As long as it’s not a few months grind like in other popular titles, I don’t see the problem.
A few days of playing for better gear and stronger character triggers 124 pages of complains? You people are sad. Especially given that the ring will drop/be obtainable by simply exploring the new dungeon..I’m missing the logic in all the arguments.
I have followed everything that ANet said about the game prior to it’s release and I don’t remember ever seeing anything about there not being any kind of character progression in the following years.
If that is the case and my characters stay the same for the entire life of the game, with all my love for GW I will drop it in a couple of months. I truly hope there will be more of a gear progression than this, , given that exotic gear is a joke to get.
Stop patting just the casuals on the head, give something for the more hardcore players too.
And can you actually say that you even need exotic gear to enjoy the content of the game? Hell, you can do all the dungeons and PVE in green gear just fine.
I don’t know when people have turn into big whiners.
It bothers me too that they promised that there will be no grinding and most of the game is grinding. But it doesn’t bother me because of the grind itself. I had the pleasure to grind for a legendary and I can say it was 99% a huge grind. No, it bothers me that they lied about it, that they didn’t live up to their promises.
But better gear? Hell yea.
Hm, I started playing with the precursor market early on in the game when they were still around 50-80g. I was gambling with exotics and got a Spark and a Leaf of Kudzu each in about 20-30 combines.
Recently I gambled with rares and the results are approximately like this:
Dagger
Rares crafted: ~200, 1 Spark
Greatsword
Rares Crafted: ~6000; ~1500 combines; 1 Dawn, 2 Dusk
Exotics: ~20-25% chance
Precursor: ~0,2% chance
I got my first Dawn and Dusk really easily, in less than 1000 rares. I sold both and then decided to keep the next Dusk I get since I have almost everything for the legendary ready. To get the second Dusk took me well over 1000 combines in the forge, probably along the lines of 1200. I kept track of it but i got so depressing I deleted the document so I wouldn’t know anymore
Most of you are so bulkitten. I have 1000 hours totally played (some of it idling) and 450 on my guardian, the one I started working towards a legendary with. And I must say all I need now is some karma. I have gotten everything, including the precursor (1h ago after 5000+ rares thrown in the forge) by myself, farming a big part of the day. And I know many players that did the same. Don’t tell me just exploiters and gold buyers get them. Granted, I don’t have it yet, but I will in a few days and it was all my work, in game, legit. I got some of the gold and bought mats by getting Dawn and selling it before I got Dusk. But given the amount of gold I threw in the forge till I got Dusk, it evened out. It was a bit of luck that got me the mats faster and then just hard work.
I’m sure some people that have legendaries abused the game but nowhere near to 97% as someone was claiming.
So, yea, 450 hours played and I almost got Twilight, fair and square.
Hey
I know this gets a lot of voicing from the community, and while others (including myself) are partially pleased, or some oven pleased, with the current situation, many more others are not. I wouldn’t mind a change, but not a drastic change. Some of the suggestions posted on forums are rather disconcerning. After spending around 400g and over 5000 rare weapons trying to get my precursor (after having successfully gotten 5 out of the forge before) I would not like devs to turn it into another 500 hour grind that would require me 500 of each dungeon token and what not (not a huge fan of all the dungeons myself).
One of the solution that would reward perseverance while keeping it a gamble, a chance, would be to leave it obtainable by the forge but do it in a different way. Make the forge keep track of how many weapons you throw in/how many combines you do, and for a certain number of tries (could be 20, 50 or whatever number you see fit) make it give you another 0.1 or whatever chance. It will still be a chance, you might still not get it, but you’ll feel better knowing that all your effort has not gone to waste and the chances will still be way better than they are now. This would also make the prices on the TP drop.
Much in the same way, someone was suggesting to tie the extra chance you get to the achievement points you have aquired. While this is also a good ideea, it would give a permanent chance increase.
A combination of the two ideeas would be to keep my original idea. Everytime you throw a number of weapons into the forge, you get a 0.1% chance increase, up to a maximum of let’s say 2% -> if you have 2000 achievement point.
The formula for this would be:
chance_var = base chance + 0.1 * (nr. of combines/10)
Where (chance_var <= achievement points/1000)
It is very important that after every successful precursor the chance would have to reset to the base chance and build up from there again.
- Having 2000 achievement points would grant you a 2% chance, which is very reasonable.
- The numbers can of course be tweaked and optimized, but you get the idea.
This would be it. With the patch so close I don’t expect any dev answer, but please consider it
Oh, I totally agree with changing the way the system is at the moment. At the moment a solution that would not upset many players is just a blunt increase in the chance you have from getting it from the forge. A significant increase, that is. It would naturally make the prices on the TP drop, people that are into gambling (like myself), would still have that and it would make them a much easier get. At the moment I, as many other players, estimate that the chance is at around 0.1%. Even an icrease to 1% would still leave the item with some value but would also make it a lot easier to get. You could still lose a lot, but you’d have a chance at winning it.
Making it obtainable by tons of dungeon tokens and what not would just extend the grind. I don’t like some dungeons that much and I’d frankly find that pretty tedious.
Making it obtainable by buying certain items from vendors for a set price would be another solution, much like the way the runestones are acquired at the moment. It would also be nice that the items you need cost a little amount of gold, but that you’d need many of them, so that after a days work you could just go buy some and feel that you made some progress, rather than just hoarding gold.
I don’t know..I kinda like the gambling feature, but the way the chances are now, it might mean that some people will never get one. Every time you throw a batch of 4 items in the forge, you have a 0.1% chance…no matter how much you tried before.
Maybe, another way to go at it, would be for the forge to track the number of items you threw in and give you another 0.1% chance for every 100 items or so (I just threw some numbers out, the number could be anything – but within reason). I think that would actually be a good solution.
Changing it now in the way you people are suggesting would be a kick in the nuts for some players. I mean, I have already thrown in almost 4000 weapons in the forge, that’s almost 1000 tries, with no luck. The cost of that would go close to 500 gold (with selling the exotics I got from the forge, so a rough 250 starting gold). To raise the grind to another 500 hours would be a drag and would make all the effort previously put into that to waste.
I’ve had my luck with precursors, to be honest. I used to do it for profit and got 2 Sparks, 1 Dusk, 1 Dawn and 1 Leaf of Kudzu, fairly easily. Now that I actually need it (it’s the last thing I need) my luck has run dry. Should be a lesson :P
Take your time and read what the other people posted.
You write the number you want, then hit ENTER, then hit craft. Simple as that.
Besides, now you can input any number, as opposed to before when the maximum number was 999.
P.S. To ArenaNet: Validation should be done when you hit craft, without having to hit Enter (maybe it’s supposed to be like that but it’s bugged).
I agree they are hard to get, but not impossible and definitely not 0.01-0.1 % as some claim. I gambled with Greatsword, Longbow, Dagger, Sword and Staff totaling to a few one or two hundred tries. I used to put in exotic 76-78 weapons. In the process I got a Leaf of Kudzu and a Spark, but no Dusk/Dawn, Legend or Zap. Overall I didn’t lose any gold since the purpose was selling them on the TP. And 250 rares is really not that much. I crafted 117 spending 20g and got 18g back from the exotics I received and then sold.
I’m not saying it’s ok the way it is now. I definitely think there should be either a higer chance/drop rate or a guaranteed way of getting it. The prices on the TP are ridiculous at this moment and I hope ANet will do something about it. Gaining a Legendary should not be this much of a gamble.
My two cents is that ArenaNet should make the events in WvW award badges of honour. Something like 5 Badges for taking over a Supply Camp, 50 Badges for taking over a Castle and so on. It wouldn’t imbalance anything, since the gold-badge conversion is not fair. You can buy Siege Golem Blueprints with 1g or 100 badges. You can make 1g easily in 1 hour but you can hardly make 100 badges in a full day of playing.
I’m sorry if this has been suggested before, I didn’t read the full topics on this.
Same happened to me while running around an area and doing some events..Ended up getting 12 Karma/event
12..karma. It’s ridiculous.
Even if I was farming events, so what? It’s what I want to do..It’s how I like to play. The end game Karma armor from Orr costs 200k karma..the legendaries need (suposedly) over 2 million karma! And after 5-6 events I end up with 12 karma.
Yeah..your rushed decisions isn’t helping counter the bots, they’re lifeless grind machines and they find ways around it, instead it’s affecting us players and it’s destroying the game. I played gw1 for 5 years, and I remember very well how I was waiting the monthly skill balances (mainly popular builds nerfs) … but this kind of nerfs are unacceptable. I’ve waited for this game since day one (that’s 3 years ago), but I feel like it’s constantly letting me down. I’ll keep playing, sure, not concerned for my well being, I’m concerned that because of this kinds of things, the game will die before it even gets a chance to rise.
Even though I use Twitter to check o updates, I agree this should not be happening. I mean..I have ~3 tabs open just to be sure I get the correct state of the game update. There’s an Announcements box on the first page of the forums. What’s that for?
I don’t bash the devs/community managers, the forums have been up until recently so they had to resort to other means. But now that they are up, please, use them for your updates ANet.
