They’re all parked at the end of a jumping puzzle. All of them.
I can’t have alts. In any game. Ever. I have a main that I play all the time. And then there are my former mains that I never play. So, in this game, all they do is open the chest once a day.
A disco ball on a stick. Nothing’s more legendary than that.
Oh wait…
Skill points will be renamed to Hero Points
I hope there are no new dungeons in HoT. It’s way too much work for Anet just to give us a new pretty textures for ’zerker corner-stacking. Just increase/decrease your screen brightness and/or gamma and do the old dungeons – you now have the same result as you would with a new dungeon.
They got shouts from warriors. It appears we are getting our hammer from guardians?
How does that matter? Chronomancers didn’t get their shield from Necromancers.
…His voice actor is painful to listen to…
Then I guess we’ll have to hunt down and kill all human male player characters as well!
And have my character kitten just because I chose the wrong race? No, thanks.
I prefer racial skills the way they are now – useless.
Also: Asura get an extra finger now.
Their Necrotic Grasp is going to be super effective!
what wasthe original gw2 class announcement orders. i think i remember mez being last, but don’t remember the rest
Ele, Warrior, Ranger, Necro, Guardian, Thief, Engineer, Mesmer
this week’s mount thread – check!
New Races thread next, please!
Applying real earth logic to an undead flying creature in a fantasy setting of a different universe.
Strong arguments there.
But there’s gravity in game just like in real life… and air and the Sun and all these things you know. So yeah why is gravity not working on Tequatl? Did he buy something from Trading Post that I didn’t?
The state of his wings is irrelevant. Should laws of physics apply to Tyria, none of the dragons could fly. Forget flying, it would be pretty much impossible for them to stand, due to their size.
If something grows, their proportions increase in all 3 dimensions (x^3). Meanwhile, for an increase in strength, only the cross-section of muscles matters (x^2). Something as large as the dragons couldn’t have enough muscle to even support their bodies.
So, if you want a realistic fight with Tequatl, it’d be like beating a slug that is already getting crushed by its own weight.
I prefer the ‘magic’ answer
…
- minons mobile drones, duh.
…
That’s what I’m fearing we’ll get. Normally, it would be cool, but in the last patch, we all saw Anet’s solution for AI skills that become competitive.
I still can’t see how this is any different from any other balance change. The last patch destroyed turret engineers. Not altered, destroyed. Should I, as an engineer, start whining? ‘I made gear for my turret engineer and now it’s useless, let me reroll my stats!’ Using the same logic you people do.
And you know what was special in the last patch? Only one thing was altered – engineer’s turrets. Most of the other balance patches would leave 4-8 professions demanding stat reroll. At which point – wouldn’t it be easier just to ask Anet to remove stats from gear and give us PvP amulets for each game mode?
tldr version: return to LS1 style and after the GW2 story is at the end (probably far into future), restart it.
@OP: That’s… kinda pointless suggestion at this time, don’t you think? Return in 7-8 years when all the dragons are dead and GW3 is announced?
i personally would rather see:
- start up servers
- sequence servers for Living Stories 1 and 2
- End of story part servers
- start up servers for Living story Heart of Maguuma
- sequence servers for Heart of Mauuma
- end of story part servers
- start up servers for Living story the next expansion
and so on
so, if I understand it right… say I wanted to replay LS1:
- I would transfer my character on a LS1 server now
- LS3 comes out, new LS3 server starts, I am stuck on LS1 server and can’t play new content. My LS1 events are now basically a personal instance, as all the other people are on LS3 server
- year later, my LS1 server finishes.
- I can now hop onto LS3 server… or the new LS4 server. That’s… uh… great. I caught up on LS1 and missed LS3 which is now old content
No. Just… no. I can’t see a system like this working.

I don’t get the hate against traps. They’re basically the same thing as wells (except that their effect only starts once enemy is on them – which is a plus, not a minus) and nobody complained about Chronomancer’s wells.
Quaggan need to fall to natural selection.
At this point, I’ll take unnatural selection.
How about a new way to play added to the game? Instead of housing, Quaggan ranching! Yes, an event gives you a way to capture Quaggan in the wild. You transport them to your Quaggan farm and and after you spend some gold feeding them and picking the parasites off their hides you can kill them for new level 500 cooking mats (Quaggan meat, bones, leather and blood). With those you can craft new ascended armor and weapons with new special effects.
Who needs housing with Quaggan farming in the game?
Can I craft a quaggan backpack? Like, actual quaggan backpack! Waving those dead limbs as my character runs, with its intestines hanging out, one eye missing, and shrapnel-sized holes everywhere?
I wanna the “Quaggan Murderer” title…
because I disliiiiiike them

Maybe if once its in the basket the item is hidden, so it would not be taken by other buyers, but if you don’t buy it your basket expires after around 5 minutes and its automatically made visible again on the TP.
As its just being hidden it wouldn’t actually be removed/relisted.
Won’t happen. This would require HUGE changes to the code of TP. All that for something that is quite… useless, really.
@OP: Anet made something just for you!
Tengu? Who cares about Tengu…
Give us Skritt!
Hmmm, Deep Sea Dragon’s name begins with ‘S’? Got it!
Next expansion: Skritt join the fight against the new dragon ‘Shiny’!
Grenade, of course.
My #1 key is getting a beating
If Necromancers get shouts (still don’t think they will), there better be “For Grave Justice!”
3rd best trait line (for the build I want to run)
vs
elite spec trait line
new weapon choice
5 new skills
new powerful mechanic (if we take the example of Chronomancer and his F5 and Alacrity, I guess other elite specs will have something similarly powerful)
It seems like a pretty straightforward choice. Yes, in some cases, the 3rd trait line will be important for synergy, but the way most trait lines are done, the odds seem to be really in favor of simply taking elite spec. (especially in cases like Necromancer, where 2 trait lines are still laughable after the ‘rework’)
I feel your pain! I used to be a powerful Necromancer, you know! I was there when it all began. Nay, 3 days before it all officially began, even! HE and I explored the world of Tyria together for the first time, seeing wonders none of us ever seen before.
Of course, there were others. Some mesmer? A ranger? I don’t know much about those, they prefered to hang out in the Mists. But I… I was HIS favourite for everything else. That is, until that one sad day.
No, it didn’t happen exactly like in your case. You see, my puppet master left. Left this world. For a few months, anyway. But I waited, knowing that he would return one day. I had faith. And I was right. Oh, how I rejoiced when I saw him again. There were still dungeons to plunder, jumping puzzles to solve, new zones to see, enemies to be killed, treasures to be found.
But then… it all changed. It happened slowly. At first, I ignored the new little engineer running clumsily across Queensdale. She was just a rookie. I was the big deal. Yes, my puppet master told me to lend her my Molten gathering tools, but I didn’t think it was such a big deal. Let the newbie deal with all the mining and chopping wood. There was no ore in Fractals of the Mists, after all. No wood in Arah. No herbs in Khylo. It made sense. I was destined for greater things than menial labour.
And then… then THAT day came. The rookie finally managed to get her lazy behind to level 80 (I still think she couldn’t have done it without the boosters she stole from MY bank – I pretended to look the other way, you see. I’m not heartless, I understand that not everyone is as naturally gifted at levelling as I was. She was even as rude as to steal a rare scroll that was a part of MY birthday gift – and thought that I wouldn’t notice). I started to suspect something the moment my puppet master sent me to the Hunstman crafting station. While I was a very skilled Hunstman (I know that you wouldn’t expect that from a Necromancer, but what can I say, I’m a very talented individual), he and I both agreed that the crafting discipline was quite unprofitable. So why would he order me to forge a brand new, shiny, exotic rifle? You guessed right…
When the weapon was finished, the final blow came. After giving my puppet master the rifle, he only extended his hand again… and asked for my Ascended rings, trinkets and even my necklace. Then, to rub salt in the wound, he bought gems with the gold that I earned by my heroic work, and bought a brand new Magitech armor set… not for me, as you might’ve guessed. Words cannot express the sorrow I felt after that betrayal.
Now, I am nothing. While my puppet master and the engineer are having fun running across the Silverwastes, or the Mists, or in one of the dungeons I have fond memories of (although that stupid engineer tends to shake her head at the performance of my fellow Necromancers whenever she meets one), I sit in Lion’s Arch. Useless. Forgotten. A few days ago, HE came by and asked if I wouldn’t want to do some killing at Skyhammer. Of course I jumped at the opportunity! But do you think he cared about me? Nope! After just one game, he took the reward chest and went off to run some Fractals… with the engineer, of course. That’s what I have become. A daily…
I am with you, fellow… erm… fellow alt (sorry, but the name of your profession leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Nothing personal) If nothing else, you can stop by while waiting in Lion’s Arch, waiting for an opportunity that will never come. I’d offer you a drink, but… every drink I ever had in my bank is now in HER possession along with all of my gold.
Love it on my Engineer. Autoattack on Grenade Kit? Yes, please!
If you had all cosmetics in this game for free, then right now, there would be 5 ’There’s nothing to do in GW2’ threads in place of this one. Probably even one from the same OP.
Well, in Necro’s case, they couldn’t be bothered with getting some new ingredients from store, so they just took the rotten meat, leftover fish and the occasional chunk of banana or pineapple and put it all in a mixer.
~20G for near-best gear in PvE/WvW (except for high-level Fractals)
Free best ‘gear’ in PvP
So much grind!
put them in your inventory
change map or relog
stack
enjoy
(except the lvl 20 scrolls, doesn’t work on them for some reason)
I agree that it’s an issue in PvP, hopefully we can get Amulet + Jewel to customize our stats better.
However, I don’t get people who are upset for this change because of PvE
current system: ’zerker armor + ’zerker traits
new system: ’zerker armor + choice of traits
how is that a worse system?
I hope Anet will go back on the Amulet/Jewel merge. Keeping amulet as it is and putting the current trait stats into jewel would be great.
Agreed with OP. People just like to complain about everything. The only thing that I kind of dislike about this system the ability to get 6/6/6. IMO it would be more interesting with less traits, so that you have to make a decision between different specialization lines – 16 traits (6/6/4) or even the current 14 (6/4/4 or 6/6/2) would give us more choices
(edited by none.9681)
…at least one profession’s elite specialization will be a full set of six shouts.
Warrior’s specialization = Paragon?
All the races hold other members of their race as prisoner. How about an option to go to the local jail and pick out a prisoner and force him to fight alongside you as part of his punishment, (replaces your pet and controllable from the pet panel).
Forget druid! New Ranger specialization = slavedriver!
brings a new twist on the profession, with slaves replacing pets, and an access to pistols!
Just look my display name
I had many fights with support about it. They can even see my display name from Guild Wars 1. I wouldn’t mind if they just give us the option to use the display name of Gw1 since many have linked acounts.
I feel your pain, man!
Really didn’t expect that it would be visible EVERYWHERE along with my character name.
Thank you for your third ever post, and first in over a year.
Yes, of course, Anet KNEW you were coming back yesterday and INTENTIONALLY put in this April Fools joke specifically to ruin your experience.
Please, feel free to stand in the ‘Pointless whining’ crowd over there. ====>
Sure, Anet couldn’t have possibly known that there are people who actually want to play the game for more than 5 minutes (which is how long I found this ‘joke’ to be funny, including the time it took me to restart the game thinking it was a bug)
Fortunately, there are games out there whose idea of a joke isn’t to intentionally cripple the gameplay for 24 hours, just wanted to give my feedback to anet, have fun!
2 days ago, I decided to reinstall this game after a year away. Enjoyed leveling a new character yesterday. Uninstalled today…
There are plenty of companies that WANT players to play their game, why should I give my money to one that goes out of their way to ruin player experience?
So, when I first played GW2, I took the dodge roll for a repositioning skill. Yeah, how naive of me. In PvE, most people don’t even care about the repositioning half and only use dodge as an invincibility button. I think that function is a bad idea and hurts the game more than it helps it.
- it makes most of PvE trivial – every player has access to 2 skills that make him immune to damage and refill fast (even faster with Vigor/Sigil of Energy, etc.)
- makes zero sense logic-wise. If I stand in an explosion, rolling on a place won’t help me. Rolling out of the way of explosion and then coming back makes more sense imo
- makes defensive stats obsolete (PvE again) – having more HP or armor is significantly less useful than a moment of invulnerability that comes for free
what implications would removing of the invincibility (NOT removing of dodge roll) have?
- in PvP – squishy professions would have to play more carefully. Would hurt thieves most
- in WvWvW – makes it harder to escape a bigger group solo, not much changes in group vs group fights
- in PvE – makes players actually have to get out of red circles OR investing into defensive stats instead of full zerker (OR being a Guardian), making stacking in one place and bursting the boss down while ignoring the mechanics harder
Green/Black combination might be old, but I like it. Sad that I don’t see many other Norn necromancers, the voice fits it perfectly.
