Has anyone figured out the trick to this yet? I tried multiple times last night with whatever PUG could join me and the white mantle is just impossible to slow down. Like nutjob, I use my 3 CC skills and the break bar is maybe 33% damaged. They just have too much HP, it’s impossible now that Doric is already emptied and everyone left after getting the achievement.
If anyone still needs it add me, I’ll be glad to try again. I’m on NA on usually about 9pm CST.
Just wanted to bump this again. Just completed this episode and that was a pain in the butt doing myself. Seems like this would be an easy fix
I’m getting close to crafting my first legendary, Chuka and Champawat! It’s been a great experience, I’ve really liked how the legendary journey has gotten me to parts of the game that I hadn’t explored yet by myself. Like right now, I’m getting my Stabilizing Matrixes through fractals which I’ve really come to enjoy! I’ve gotten a bunch of the items and materials needed myself just because it’s been fun exploring the different aspects of the game, and bought just the grinding materials (so much wood and leather!).
I’m getting down to only 4 items, T6 mats (going to purchase with all my Laurels), Stabilizing Matrix, Mystic Clovers, and Mystic Coins. I’ve been proud of myself doing most of this myself, but I am a bit bummed out that the Mystic Coins are pretty much a time-gated item. I could buy everything I need right now to craft it tonight, but I’m waiting until I have gotten all the Stabilizing Matrixes myself. When I do buy them, it will take away almost all of my gold.
So just for fun, to the point of my topic, what’s in your wallet? I hear people in-game, and on these forums talking about how they never have more than 20g and it’s impossible to save up for things, other people are generous enough to donate their gold and items (like the “Gifting Others” thread on the forum, which is great!). Just straight liquid cash, nothing waiting to sell on the TP, mats that you could sell, no gems…
163g 53s 28c
I will note too that even if the thought of opening the Divine Envelopes to gamble for gold isn’t something you want to do, you should still buy the max amount of them every day, and sell them on the Trading Post to others who do want to gamble. Depending on the pricing and whether you want to list them as sell orders or just take the guarantee of filling buy orders, you should be able to make a 15-25 silver profit after TP taxes are accounted for per envelope, which will work out to 2-4 gold per day’s set of envelopes. Over a two week festival, that’s 28-56 gold, which is nothing to sneeze at.
Thanks for that! Made 3g tonight in about a minute!
I had this problem every once in a while while I was going through the story that a cut-scene would play, I could hear the voices but the screen was completely black. It bugged me a little bit, but I wasn’t on the forums much so just forgot about it. But now the same thing happens every time I complete Dragons Stand, once we defeat the MoM, the cut-scene audio comes on, but the screen is black.
I don’t have any other graphics or sound issues, I have highest res going and 50+ FPS while playing the game… so just wondering what might be causing something like this?
Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks, all!
This is my first Lunar New Year and played Dragonball last night for a few rounds. I really enjoyed Mad King and Wintersday, but this seems kind of lame.
I’m an AP kitten, so I’ll do enough of the events to get the Festival AP points, but is there any cool item that I’m not noticing, or is there a particular item to farm during this festival? I checked Dulfy and saw some new dyes on the gem store and a rooster backpack and harvester (not interested at all). I’m talking about the cool weapon skins from Mad King or something like Winter’s Presence or the Infusion from Wintersday.
Thanks for any help.
It’s an estimated 1 in 100,000 chance
So you’re telling there’s a chance! Yeah!
That sounds like a bit of a bummer, but I understand. If it were 1:10,000 everyone who completed the Festive Imbiber AP would get one. Now I will have to decide if I want the infusion or the Winter’s Presence shoulder skin… darn decisions! Maybe I can do the JP enough for both! I can farm about 1,200 a night… we’ll see.
Thanks guys.
Does anyone know the approximate drop rate for the Winter’s Heart Infusion? I think it’s a really cool skin that I would love to have.
I’ve become pretty good at the JP, that I will be able to have enough presents to either complete the Festive Imbiber, with a chance to get the infusion, or to just sell off the presents.
Currently, Infusion is for Purchase for 930g, and the presents sell for 6.9s, so I would need approximately 15,857 presents to pay for it. Or use those presents to complete the AP (approx 12,500) and hope I get the infusion. Does anybody know any rates for it?
Thanks!
GW2 is the first MMORPG I’ve played, and I’ve been obsessed since a friend got me hooked in February. What worked for me was like what everyone had been saying above, just do your own thing and it will eventually start making SOME sense. Once you have some sense, then check out the wiki page to get some more info.
Another point, at least which works for me, is concentrate on one aspect of the game at a time. It is so easy to get side-tracked with so much stuff to do, so I concentrate on one minor goal at a time IE 100% map completion was my 1st goal, complete the story line, get all the Achievement Points from battling this boss, get a full new wardrobe and weapon, become a crafter…
There is so much to do in the game I think I would’ve been overwhelmed doing it all at once. I’ve not even messed around with WVW and PVP yet, and I’m still learning things in the PVE.
As everyone is saying above, if you are good at the JP, do it. If you stay on the JP long enough and for multiple rounds, you’ll be the last one left and won’t have to wait for the snowflakes or presents to re-spawn. When I’m the only one on the map and don’t have to wait, I can finish the JP in 90 seconds (about 2 mins if multiple people on the map). In a perfect world this could mean 200 gifts every half hour, but since I am not perfect, I average about 140-150 every half hour. On top of that you get the 5 Personalized Gifts every 15 and 1050 karma every JP which can get you even more gifts at the holiday merchant.
If the JP isn’t your thing, I found the Bell Choir to be pretty simple and 18 gifts every 7.5 minutes. You have to complete the JP 7.2 times to match this rate.
This one worked for me, thanks!
Figured out how to easily fix the issue….
https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/93290408-Problems-Downloading-or-Patching
as the winsock reset is irrelevant to the issue at hand:
1. go to the “slow or stuck downloads” section and perform the following actions. The instructions are somewhat vague so I’ll try to be a bit more comprehensive.
2. right click your GW2 DESKTOP icon and select “open file location”. In the open folder, right click the primary Gw2 icon (not Gw2-64) and create shortcut. The primary icon IS the .exe file even though it doesn’t show.
3.It will create a new icon within the open folder (Gw2 – Shortcut). Anets directions specify to rename it although it doesn’t matter either way. Right click and select properties
4.Copy and paste -assetsrv 174.35.71.9:80 in the target line section AFTER the last (")(quotation mark); make sure there is a space between as well. Click OK and double click the created shortcut (Gw2 – Shortcut). Problem Solved!!!
Yes, it’s the experimental step, sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the help.
I just created my very first precursor weapon last night, The Hunt, and know that I have to eventually gain it’s Essence. Is there a particular salvage kit that I must use to get it (is it considered an “upgrade”)? I imagine that using a Crude Kit wouldn’t get me what I want, but do I need to use Fine or Master?
I received Black Lion Salvage Kit a few weeks ago from a Chest that I’ve been saving for something special. Would this be the time to use it?
Thanks!
Awesome, thank you guys!
Hey guys,
I’m still ‘new’ to the game, only have 1 character, my level 80 Ranger. Previously, on my short bow, my #1 attacks (and all others) would be able to hit multiple targets, if they were lined up in a row. Just recently, I noticed that it wasn’t doing this anymore. I did change some of my specialization skills recently, but looking back, I don’t see any change that would have affected this. Does anyone know what else I might have done?
