Personaly I hope Deso does not go under to silver league again, they are a lot more fun to fight against than say Vizunah of old, more open field, less siege and scouts, although the nightcap team appears to be about equal. I was hoping Gandara would manage to enter gold and be 4-5 or so for matchup diversity and a third international server to finally stop national server domination in gold and let a healthy transfer spread for matchup balancing, don’t look like it’s gonna happen.

I did not like the way BB fought during the season. I’m talking pug commanders. It wasn’t doubleteaming per se, but rather the fact that they chose to avoid most engagements with SFR unless PPT was involved that made SFR fight Deso, was simply more fun. Believe it or not we like good fights as much as we like winning. Smart tactic for the season PPT awfull bore fight wise, good thing Deso didn’t avoid fighting.

How did Riverside get equal place with Deso and BB again? Baffling tournament system.

During mid-season it was all about fighting SFR on Deso side. Some random skirmishes with other servers, but 80 % fights against SFR.

Blob vs. Blob -wise it was fun, since SRF has an really tough melee-train to crack. Also you guys have some of the best commanders. In the end you really deserved your victory. You won all the matches you wanted, and with an good margin.

I was also expecting Gandara to upjump higher after whole Underworld and some others stacked up the server. Did ppl get bored or something?

Riverside got 2nd because they played the tourney points wise. Hats off! I was kinda expecting Vizuna to make some last stand but it seems they burned off mid week during the last match.

Not sure what will become of Deso in the near future. Living story begins again and many are burned out of www. Old players and some excellent commanders who left Deso ages ago have returned lately. We have also got some new transfers. They have kept stuff fresh, so maybe we will hang up here.

Fights are fun yes with SFR since they fight back compared to some other servers. But calling other servers pathetic is just typical arrogant egoism coming from certain sfr forum warriors who did not get enough breast when bambino.

You are missing the point. I am from SFR and I enjoy the Deso performance, I personally am a Fan when it comes to Deso at WvW BUT…look at this pages. Tons of people that (maybe) come from deso and complain about the following: omg we got doubleteamed again, omg we so good but because of somebody else we got 2nd, etc. etc. This QQbabies just make sure that your server reputation suffers and thus, the “arrogance” you meet on the forums.

This [Way]-guild from AR really impresses. Comes to EB with an 20-30 man guild group, caps one of our towers and starts emote spamming while AR loses two towers to Gandara. Then they wipe constantly to our pug’s. Keep it going.

Yes we did double team Blobbadons with Gandara in the first matchup during the season.

Yes it is. Many of us tried to be polite, respectful and discuss about stuff. After all this QQ and accusations ppl even reasonable ppl are getting kitten ed off.

Can’t really admit that we (Deso) have been arrogant. Besides few forum warriors we have quite frankly admitted that we usually under perform during prime time and have had to rely on our coverage.

While all this tanking and stuff have been discussed so many times, I will drop the facts once more:

1) It was decided in one of our server alliance meetings, that we will aim for silver. This was about 5 weeks before the leagues. Everyone did not agree.

2) This decision was based on our belief that we lack the coverage to compete in gold (now I can admit we were wrong). Nobody, I repeat NOBODY expected us to win silver. We just sincerely believed it was best for everyone on Deso to find good fights and equal servers in Silver.

3) As we lost most of our www-focused guilds nobody took any actual measures to pursue that goal. We tanked naturally. Can you really believe that any server can be so united that they can coordinate a five week tank?

3) When that decision was made, we lost DVG, FG, TEQ (they returned), War, Coin and a few others. Especially DVG at that time had about 40 % of our active commanders and most of our night force.

4) We knew we had a strong pve-population, but nobody expected that we will have three hour queues on a single border in the beginning of the leagues. And nobody liked it. Now we are trying to train our new www’ers and rebuild.

5) Most importantly, we have some individuals who have the time and passion to fight for Deso. They are responsible for most of our success. <3

This will be a fun matchup. Lets have fun and keep the thread clean. There will be double teaming. It belongs to the game so deal with it.

I run with 60 % Celestial, 15 % Knight’s and 25 % Zerker’s. I use buffs (foods, bloodlust) to increase my power. Runes are traveler, since it is all about positioning and that 25 % increase helps a lot.

And I like it.

FSP borderlands: Those fights at Vale and Garri! How long did they last? Like 10-15 minutes full of mayhem! All love to Perrish for field-commanding INVI, TLA and everyone else during that chaos!

Nice to see VotF after a long time. Gotta admit you guys still pack a punch! Last time I saw you guys was on Deso a long, long time ago.

The amount of CC made my Ele’s life extremely hard. Never have I had to cope with such amount of red circles around me.

Thanks AG for all the fun and especially [FIRE] and [HoB] for the fun fights with us. Hope to see you guys in the future. Did not see much of UW during this week except some small skirmishes. Hope you can rebuild your server and continue to keep the flag up high.

Kinda hard to say what class is hard or easy to play. I think it is quite subjective. About cookie cutter roles this comes in mind:

Warrior – The workhorse of a big or smallish www-group. Good damage, good survivability, AoE-heals and condiremovals + the banner. Good for leading.

Guardian – The second workhorse of a group. Good survivability while giving lots of boons. Good CC from Staff and Hammer. Latter has a reliable and fast blast finisher. Good for leading.

Necro – The AoE DPS -dispenser. Decent in almost everything www-related. Lacks a bit mobility. This one gives you the lootbags and takes away enemy boons.

Ranger – Long range AoE DPS or Havoc. Good group support from an waterfield, but overall weak in large scale www because of class mechanic (pet dies fast).

Thief – Scout/Havoc and enemy light class assassin. Also good for solo play. Fast blast finisher, access to stealth and good movement in and out of combat.

Mesmer – Group support and Havoc. Good solo duelist. Group support relies on using veil and nullfield. Portal occasionally. Lacks decent AoE-damage, but has access to pulls/pushes.

Engi – Nades and Bombs give good AoE pressure. Good access to stability. Good duelist.

Eles – Massive AoE CC, damage and heals. Can be extremely squishy. Staff eles are extremely important in large scale battles. Not really good duelits or scouts.

I really can’t understand what this bragging thing is aside a few Desotrolls (who should really stop throwing poo in the flames)? Most of us have gladly admitted that we currently suck badly and our foes have seen it too.

So lets now focus on the fights.

Sorry to the Desolation guys on EB the last hour for mercilessly farming you guys at your keep. I hadn’t had a decent fight on our BLs, – always much smaller groups we faceroll. So moved to EB to face a decent sized group, plus, you know, loot.

Must say your movement was impressive. You guys earned your lootbags and hopefully gave a lesson or two for our pugs. Hopefully next time they stick with the tag.

We have really had a hard time to get all the new PvE-guys to follow. We also lost many commanders a while ago. Some new comm’s have been trying the ropes and I hope we can improve our performance over time.

As a server we have had to rebuild after rebuilding. Now that we have lots of new guys in www, we should just try our best to train them and not drive them away.

Now about all this corpse-jumping and stuff, there is one thing you all can do. When you see your servermatey dancing or doing whatever childish and unsportsmanship behaviour, just whisper them and say it. I’ve done it and in most cases ppl have responded: sorry, you are right. Of course there are allways those arrogant little pricks who gain amusement on stuff like that and you can’t do anything about it.

Oh maaaaybe. But it took five of them to take me out at Hills on Viz BL tonight and I’m nothing special. Had a nice little duel going with a SFR guardian for about 5 minutes, then another showed up, and bounced around, then three more showed up. I told you guys, my max I can handle is 3v1.

Also, best screen shots of the night, particularly the second shot. The second shot made me chuckle (you crazy frenchmen! :p) Haha.

Btw I have a question for piken you are ticking 2nd or 3th place you are like 2k behind the second and 5k behind the 1st? why dont you go for the first objects instead of only going after one of teh servers on every map, what is your logic you play for second or what?

Yes they do this and there’s nothing for me to get over as this has happened to me countless times but this is the first time I’ve seen it so rife from one server. I’m not looking to change the attitude of some player’s of a server but if you run a guild with members that take part in this type of behaviour not only does it reflect bad on a server I can only assume that the player is trash and their guild is trash.

When I see a fellow Deso-player doing corpse-jumping or dancing i will immediately say that it is stupid and childish. If they start to whine and continue their idiocy, I will just report them.

I challenge all my server-mates to deal with this kind of behavior harshly. If we see consistent trolling like this from a single guild, they may lose access to our community TS.

After a good fight it really is not so hard to type /bow or /salute

Tons of good fights last night on VS-border. I especially liked those around the ruin-island.

Also thanks to ZB’s for not interfering while we were fighting against an equal force of SFR. You guys are really organized and sure have given us many hard lessons recently. <3

We want to officially thank Xaoc and every SFR who were with them at Deso-border north Bay. Huge and fun fights. In the end you guys owned us, but we sure gave you everything we could. We also want to thank all the Pugs that followed us! When we roll, we roll in Finnish, but you can pick up the basic commands.

Last thursday karaoke train by DVG and Desolation, a very silly night but we had fun :P

Silly? Maybe yes. Still it tells a story. A story about the resilience of Deso.

When IRON and most of the hard core www-guilds left us, everyone thought we were going down. We had rank 3 on the EU ladder.

Many of us wanted to fight and build up again. Tons of late night shifts, moaning girl- and boyfriend’s and a lot of awesomeness helped us to regain our strength. While many individuals have contributed much towards our cause, in the end we could not do it without our fellow deso-fighters beside us.

Last night we made it back to rank 3.

Actualy our perfect coverage is our worst problem.
When the PvE-Farm-Event ends and people start to play WvW again, queues will be massive. A lot of people trasfering to SFR at the moment, and not everyone is glad about it!

TLA, FG and AFTL did everything they could to hold our border. And a kitten nice job we did. Thanks for both VS and SFR for good fights; we had to run from point A to point B for the whole reset night without any breaks.

Lets try to keep this thread flame-free and just concentrate on loot bags. This match up should give us them a lot.

Thanks for good fights with some ranger underwater tonight! Had some great fights with you! I pulled out when i saw one of our server mates attacking you also. Did not want to ruin our fight going 2v1.

Tons of fun on reset-night! TLA broke all records and we had over 30 drunk Finns doing shenanigans. Probably Deso has the best coverage in this match up, but lets not play too much for points. Lets have some good fights and respect the enemy.

Ignore this post. This has nothing to do with official Deso. We have tons of guys who love good fights and give respect to our enemies. Only idiots like to dance on corpses.

Had a blast last night! First some epic “once in a lifetime” -golem rushes on Elona’s Hills that failed every time. But hey, we had tons of fun!

Then TLA’s official www-event, where we probably broke the participant-record! Thanks guys for attending! Still a slacker PVE-guild, but whe are getting there. PERKELE!
