while I do agree that end game content should be hard, the mastery grind is ridiculous. I’ve been playing about 4-5 days a week and about 1-2 hours a day since HOT launch. I have only gained 5 lvl total of the maguma masteries. 1 lvl for each itzel, exalted, nuhoch, and 2 lvl for gliding to use updraft…

I am one of those players who like to dip their toes in every play mode of the game. with all of these masteries grind, I don’t even have time to get to fractal yet, maybe 2 fractals since HOT. They should let us gain mastery exp in pvp too that would encourage people to play pvp more.

as everyone said, just try rev out, if you like it then play it. I did try rev… and I do not like it.

that’s why I never even look for these 2 pets. 2 hours is a very long time, plus finding the pet. although, i’d totally use them very often if i have them. it’s just time consuming. I do not have 2-3 hours spare to do the event and look for them. I will have to settle without. I am glad you found them though. I can always use them in pvp so that’s fine with me.

lol, you should have seen the crud storm that happened on these forums 1.5 to 2 years ago when I suggested that Arenanet setup a “subscription”, where basically the player setups up a monthly subscription for what ever amount they want to come out every month automatically, and they get gems that corresponds to that amount. So if they setup a $10 subscription, they get 800 Gems every month.

So many people were against that idea and some even said they would leave the game if it was setup like that. /crazy

So if so many people are up against the idea I gave, then your idea has even less of a chance of getting any kind of support.

This is a good idea. I mean if you want to stop the auto pay, you can anytime. I don’t see why not. As for the extra perks for sub fee, I can see why people would moan about that.

yes, or guild raids. we lack things to do as a guild. it is called GUILD wars 2. Pve guilds, need more things to do, as well as pvp, not wvw. I’m talking about small scale pvp like 10v10 or 20v20 in a smaller battle ground than wvw.

ill make one just for giggles but, I’ll probably will try out the specializations first.

I will definitely buy it even if its $50-60. i’ve played more than 2 years for a game that’s less than 100. I’m happy. I’ll gladly pay them more for years to come.

my asura has the belcher bluff guy. I don’t know what you are talking about. I never notice the merchants because I don’t care for them. never go to the sylvari one. so I’m not sure.

I think it brings flavor to the game. I mean its fun to kill someone by throwing flowers and unicorn at their face. well maybe not unicorn e.e’.

I’m not against the ranger buffs, but I’m not about to say that they’re just as weak as they were pre-patch either. They’re a force to be reckoned with, and if you’re not built specifically to counter them, they can be really tough to fight.

If they had their own version of berserker’s stance, I’d say they might even be as strong as warriors now lol.

they do it is signet of stone. I don’t care for rapid fire change but add it with the lb #3 stealth is a bit much.

ele is getting the same if not worst nerf for tornado( the ele elite skill). Also, ele’s movement skills that causes fire field was nerf like the golem’s movement skill, it does not generate fire field if hit the wall. Which is a lot of dmg, and that’s 3 of the ele’s fire skills. ( I am not talking about the fgs skills. Fgs is overdue for a nerf)

so pls. don’t say that ele got a buff. Eles only got the slight buff in some of the signets, and the glyphs which has long cd regardless. That is to compensate for the dmg lost. Other stuff are bug fixes.

so I wouldn’t complain.

Anet, former WvWers who left will not be back into WvW by increasing its costs….

Since when has anet actually cared about sustaining WvW? For them, its most likely just a way to get $$ from transfers by stacking servers, which, based on their last seasons, they want to encourage.

For anyone who thinks 300g isn’t much for WvW players, try running in WvW (not EotM, because thats just a champ farm…I mean actual WvW) and see how fast you get 300g. You can do it, sure..especially if you get a lucky drop, but it will take a while. Add on the fact that commanders often spend their own in game money to buy siege, upgrade, etc. Even if a whole guild chips in to help with that stuff, commanders still often spend a lot of their own money. If you go after a T3 keep, you might need many trebs, or many rams, catas, etc just to crack and OUTER wall. Then there is a long fight in inner. And, after ALL of that work (sometimes 2-3 hours of work fighting with an enemy) you finally cap the tower, get 1 champ bag, and a few silver and karma. This is what WvW people mean when there are just SO little rewards given the effort and time put in. The WvW community is bleeding guilds who are leaving the game after years of neglect…and this doesn’t exactly help.

thank you for pointing this out. I mean, it already is expensive being a commander. If you aren’t in a big guild where a lot of people donate siege, then you have to spend your own money for siege.

edit: eotm is not part of wvw. People don’t even go there to fight each other, they go there to farm karma, and champ boxes.

I don’t think eles are weak or op. I think they are doing ok. Maybe a little squishy compare to other classes. King of aoe. I asure you, eles do not need to go bunker to have some surviability. It depends where. In pve, wvw, pvp (which I rarely do), I play 6/0/0/4/4 most of the time. Only ever rarely in pvp or in wvw I will switch to x/x/x/6/6. In wvw, we either are out numbered, I will switch. In pvp, if the group really need a bunker. If you get 2 shotted by a theif in bunker, then maybe ele is not the class for you. Churning earth is good, if you know how to knock down the opponent first. I think the hardest part about the ele is knowing when to use which skills, set your own combo and I think you will have an easier time.

the requirement should’ve been xxxx lvl of wvw, some sort of animal shark and above in pvp to be able to make a legendary. Then, gw2 might be an e-sport.

on the “more serious” note, Some people got em a year ago, or even longer, when they were cheap. Some people got lucky and get them as drops, so might as well make it. if you don’t like it, don’t get it. But, don’t complain because you don’t have one.

and looking good or not, that depends on the owner. If they think their legendary looks cute, good, nice, grand, glorious. That is their opinion.

I don’t really care if people flash those legendary at my face. I mean, in my guild there are a group of guys that own eternity. And every time someone says legendary, they would say “did someone say legendary/ etenity?” and they would fill the chat with eternity and legendary links. which get quite annoying. But, I think they just want to have fun. They are not bashing anyone for not having a legendary.

people are over estimating long bow wayyyyy too much. The cast time is shorter, the velocity of the arrow is faster. well, guess what, you will die faster with good players that know how to block and reflect, or worst RETALIATION. do you know how many “range” ranger kill themselves with their “bow” in pvp and wvw?

some people are saying lb are going to be “scary” what a joke. the only annoying thing about lb is the stealth #3.

Ranger still has the worst party utility. Now with buffed lb, it will be worst because they will be “ranging” most of the time. cos who knows how many people will try to wield lb, and make it “working” with the changes.

the only good thing about ranger’s update is the signet and the entangle changes. Which will make signet rangers more popular and bring even less utility to the party.

after the update, I will probably tolerate rangers even less knowing all of this.

ever try stripping boons from a guard? necro well, or null field right on top of the guard, and he will go down quite fast.

ele is rewarding when you master it. The most fun class for me, when you know the combos and all the builds possible.

guardian is easier to play. it is still fun.

both ele and guard are always welcome in wvw. pvp wise I’ve only ever play my ele, it is very versatile. You can go bunker, healer, or dps. pve they both stands the same, in my opinion.

no holy trinity, so no… if you make light armor any more squishy, the game would not be balance regardless of adding “better” utility or whatever else.

I don’t pve much, bc quite honest everything in pve gives so little satisfaction, bc everything is so easy. I do pve when a guild mate need a 5th in dungeon or fractals, and when guild do guild missions.

I main ele and ranger for everything pve, pvp, wvw, ocationally guardian.

let’s say we do remove it in pve. as I don’t see the fgs a big deal in pvp, not like I die to those things. eles that uses fgs stupidly in pvp get themselves and their team mates killed , cos of reflect. what will be in its place ? what are you going to compensate for the mobility it gives in wvw and pvp?

gw2 does have a lot of skins, it does. But, quantity=/= quality. It needs more, better looking armors. For a game that advertise that they are all about “esthetics”, the medium armors need a whole lot more options, trench coats are everywhere.

warrior seems like the right fit for you. that gs is very mobile. You want ranged attacks, sure! riffle or lb. You want durable for wvw zerg, no one will turn away a warrior in a zerg, unless he’s really terrible, and is a rally bait.

pve wise, you won’t die a lot even if you don’t know what to do, or if you are full squishy, trait+ armor zerker.

I say stick with warrior. If you enjoy it.

you can purchase gem with gold. its 30g to buy a make over kit. this game as stated by anet, is about esthetics. Look at the gem store, almost everything is for esthetics. I don’t see why you are complaining. Anet need to make a living somehow, if they made everything for free, then we would not have the game we have, or even worst.

the fgs is fine as is, no need to change it. And I disagree with rewarding improperly. how are they getting reward improperly ? I am sure you can get an organized group and have a fun time how you want. you can go through all the mechanics of the game how you want. and let others have fun how they want.

Y’all noticing there’s been a slight increase in Canthan related items recently? The Assassin outfit.. DEFINITELY the Ancestral outfit.. Belinda’s katana.. and the violins in the new soundtrack sound eerily similar to some of the music from Factions (the low strung violins, almost hum-like). You can hear it towards the beginning of the Dry Top song. Maybe it’s just an odd coincidence as violins are obviously very frequently used in a lot of songs unrelated to Cantha, but it’s definitely a familiar style of sound that was used a lot in Factions. There’s still hope! :P

It’s because Arena Net knows people want Cantha, and instead of actually making it, they’re releasing “Cantha” looking gem store items.

Another good part is that you can wear it over light, medium, or heavy armor.

There have been plenty of armor pieces that can be worn by any profession. Also, I’m not sure it’s such a nice thing to have heavy armored warriors run around in light clothes. But that’s your own choice I suppose.

Well you were mentioning about the 800 gems armor in the gem store but those are specific to each light, medium, heavy armor weight class, unlike outfits. As far as I know, the “generic” armor that applies to all weight classes are special cases and are not sold in the gem store. Also they are just skins for a piece of armor rather than the whole set.

anet can always make the same armor looking sets for all tier armors. It’s not like they can’t. This would be easier than making 3 different looking armor sets.

I was going to make a post about this. The outfits does look good, but I wish it was armor skins instead. Its a pity. I would like to mix and match the armors to make a unique style of my own.

I agree with op, and I feel for you. I by no means care if I obtain the mini pet or not. But I feel that this is unfair for the players that actually fund the game, and does not want to pvp or does not have a team to participate in this event. I have played this game since 2012, and even I did not find 4 other people that want to participate in this “legendary tournament” with me. I would love to enter the tournament if it wasn’t for the team thing. It is hard to find 4 other people to enter with. There can only be 128 teams, that’s a bit too limiting. Please add in the option for you to enter as a single player too, so loners like myself can enter.

I would like to also point out the collectors like OP are funding the game. At least make the mini obtainable by other means, so they can be happy customer. If you give the paying customers what they want, the game will live longer.
