Anything being done about post-patch FPS drop

in Account & Technical Support

Having the same issue here. I’m getting 20-25 fps everywhere. I have by no means a high-end system but i should normally be at 50-60 fps at mid to high settings.

Unplayable atm.

i5 4670K 3.4 GHz (not OC)
GTX 750 Ti

EDIT:
Core temperatures across the board fine
Fallout 4 runs perfectly fine, no changes here (50-60 fps outdoors, drops to 30 sometimes indoors, same as always)

Clearly a patch issue with GW2

I have Artificer on another character 400+, not on Thief and again no charge. I will try first buy staff

Thank you

Yes you to unlock the collection FIRST. It has been stated several times before.

Has anyone else experienced not getting credit for mystic staff? I mad it yesterday (first on another char), and i did not get credit in collection. Then i put thatone on TP, and i logged my daredevil and made it again and still no credit.. Do i have to equip it or something?

Short answer: no and yes

Only ca 700k exp grind remaining on exalted gathering now, then finally Bo!

AH HA !!

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/its-the-final-countdown/

“Our journey is nearly over—very soon, you will be gliding through the jungle canopy, battling to level 100 in fractals, building a guild hall with your friends, overcoming challenges in the jungle to unlock your elite specialization, competing with your friends and guildmates to get to the top of our new minigame adventure leaderboards”

Well there you have it folks. Looks like the elite specs are going to be unlocked via “challenges” in the new map.

This is what i always wanted! Although, they could mean new Hero challenges, lol. But i hope it’s another type of challenge.

Druid with Condition Damage builds

As someone who has an ascended kharka shell that’s been sitting in the bank for years, I sympathize. Here is an idea I came up with, note however that I am not actually familiar with ranger.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQJAWVn0rC1sgtsA2sCEtiFDBDurGWTrNdgTQLgJAM6Kdl8suA-TxSAABacBAES9go1EYkKOOqEEgjAgZK/m+BAwxhAon9HqRHAA-e

In this build, staff is not your main weapon, it will be used for a quick daze in order to proc ancient seed as well as refilling your celestial form(looking back, apothecary staff might be better than cleric in this context).

The new glyph elite is on a really low cool down, making it ideal for an elite skill based rune such as rune of the krait.

Short bow will be your main damage dealing weapon, but we have low base crit chance, so make sure you stick to the sides of bosses and swap your pets frequently in order to land those bleed on crits, speaking of pets, make sure you pick ones that are condition damage centric, as that is probably just as important as doing condition damage yourself.

I was running almost exactly this build, except i took Refined Toxins and Poison Master instead for some added poison. Also Spike Trap, Viper’s Nest, Entangle. The bleed bombs this can create is pretty sweet, the poison is just a nice bonus.

Dire Trinkets can be replaced with Apothecary.

Hadn’t thought of Elite glyph in combination with Krait runes, interesting choice. Though Entangle is on relatively low CD anyway.

How should i play the Druid?

in Ranger

settlers max daze max bleed

keep them dazed immobilized and bleed. tada

^ this

Though i prefer Rabid armor and Dire trinkets, Krait runes. Max the condi damage!

Shortbow with earth sigil. Traps and Sharpening Stones. Many many bleeds from all sources, and some added poison.

Pets are new Bristleback and Fire Wyvern.

The great thing with this is i can fall back and heal with staff/astral form and still apply condi pressure.

how are you building your Ventari?

in Revenant

phyrr.4750

During the raid I was at ~90% hp pretty much entire time and never died untill we were calling wipes. Shield #5 brings you back above 75% health in no time if needed, as does Infuse Light. And you don’t need any more Regeneration, especially that short one.

I don’t really see any synergy between Tablet and Hammer. I guess it makes sense on WvW, but as healer I was stacked with melee group for best healing from Water/Renewal sigils/Staff. I did not see a reason to leave that range in this particular fight, as you can evade displacing fields with timed Sword #3 or good movement from focused team member and never stop DPSing/healing.

Good points. Yea, i guess i was thinking from a WvW perspective. I’ll grab Sword/Shield when i go into raid.

how are you building your Ventari?

in Revenant

phyrr.4750

Similar to builds posted here, i have been trying out Ventari/Glint, Salvation/Invocation/Herald, full Cleric and Monk runes. Running with Staff/Hammer. The heal output feels pretty beastly. Granted i have not had the time to try the raid yet.

Staff feels pretty given to me, and as pointed out Staff AA alone is pretty significant. But would you rather run Staff/Hammer or Staff/Sw+Shield? Hammer has very nice synergy with Tablet, but Shield might be nice where extra burst heal is needed.

I have also been pondering about Nourishing Roots vs Tranquil Balance. At a first glance, TB seems better because it works across the board. However seeming all i do is camp Tablet, like ever except when reapplying boons from Glint, and you might not be >75% HP all the time, Nourishing Roots might be worth considering. Then again if i’m <75% i might be doing something wrong lol. Thoughts?

Elite specializations unlock

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: phyrr.4750

phyrr.4750

I would be fine with something similar to how you unlocked advanced jobs in FFXI and FFXIV, i.e. a more or less challenging (and engaging) quest line with the elite specialization unlock in the end. That would fulfill a much stronger feeling of accomplishment than just farming Hero points, and also we’d get the context of the elite spec lore wise.

Although these types of unlock quests could be quite tedious and long in the aforementioned games, they’d probably have to be a bit shorter and soloable in GW2.

But ehh, it’s late in development so it probably won’t happen, but stranger things have happened before. I just hope we don’t have to HP-farm. That would really put me off at first, but i’d probably do it for all my 6 80’s (and Rev) anyway, lol.

Basic Enemy Combat Difficulty

I played through the beta as the Daredevil, Revenant and Reaper, and i think the difficulty of most of the enemies were fine. If anything, basic enemies need MORE health.

I also agree with previous posters that smokescales blindfield and the Legendary Diarmid super spin chase attack are both ridiculously OP as it stands.

I’ve been running PP/Staff and CS/Trick/DD with Evasive Empowerment, Staff Master and Bounding Dodger (full Zerk and Scholar runes), and i’m pretty impressed so far with the synergy between the two weaponsets. Bound dodge and then Vault to proc both 10% bonuses from the DD traitline for amazing AoE damage, then switch to PP (Energy sigil on one of them) and dodge out or BP and stealth when going gets tough and just Unload for a while, then switch back to staff and repeat.

Been having fun so far.

+1 and to the top with you.

The golem rush and all this “special event” thing is just iodine in an open wound. Intentions might be good but the effort is so so very misplaced.

Second ascended weapon - your choice?

in Thief

Posted by: phyrr.4750

phyrr.4750

I don’t see why you would use a Dagger over a Sword in most PvE content. I have found Sword + Pistol to be the far better weapon-set in most PvE scenarios. Exception being when you only have one target and need to move a lot.

Anyway, it’s hard to argue against the Shortbow, just because it gets so much use. That’s the reason it was my Legendary of choice, rather than your standard Daggers/Swords or Pistols.

As i said, dagger for sustained damage on bosses/single target fights. I use S/P anywhere else, and i agree it’s superior for those parts. But the question is really is it worth it to craft an ascended sword just for waving through trash? Or should i get second dagger to further improve my single target damage?

Shortbow is an interesting choice. (It is after all maybe the most used weapon in terms of up time. But that’s another 200g to level huntsman, lol.

Second ascended weapon - your choice?

I don’t know if this has been up in the past. Search function didn’t give anything and neither did looking at the topics on the first ten pages or so. I remember the discussion about the first weapon choice around the time when ascended weapons first came out, but can’t recall much talk about choices beyond that. If it has been up and if there is already a consensus regarding this, i apologize.

First some background:
0/30/25/15/0. I run all weapon sets, but i tend to switch between D/D, D/P and S/P mostly, and always carrying SB. Always.
I play only PvE now. I frequent fractals, dungeons and the occasional world boss choo-choo. Might dig back into WvW again if i feel motivated, but not very likely.

Anyway, to the point. When i made the choice for the first weapon to craft my first thought was to maximize melee damage, and then to maximize single target damage, so dagger was the obvious choice. I’ve had my ascended dagger for about a month now and i am soon to craft my second weapon. I’ve been set on a second dagger all along really, but i’m beginning to reassess. Would an off-hand dagger really do much for my backstabs, or should i get a sword for cleaving through trash mobs faster? They die so fast anyway so it seems kind of pointless to go further into trash mob damage.

I guess what i’m looking to hear is what other peoples choices was/is for their second ascended weapon and their motivation for that choice. Obviously thief focused, but any other potential arguments that applies for all classes are welcome.

I don’t have huntsman on 500, but if you can come up with good points for taking shortbow i’m all ears. Or pistol even?

So let’s hear it, fellow thieves. What did you pick?

My current looks

Look #1: Yet another one of those generic T3 with the new “exclusive” hairstyle. But hey it looks awesome. T2 falconer mask and the rest is duelist.

Look #2: I think the gas mask goes really really well with magitech armor.

After 2 weeks of sweat, tears, emotional roller coasters and multiple build attempts, i finally did it. (3 crystals, yea i know this was painful enough for me, not even gonna dream about eight)

Thief
The winning build: 20/30/0/20/0
DA: Mug, Sundering Strikes
CS: Furious Retaliation, Signet Use, Executioner
Ac: Vigorous Recovery, Fleet of Foot

Weapon: Shortbow ONLY

Utilities:
Withdraw, Signet of Agility, Signet of Shadows, Shadow Refuge, Thiefs Guild

Gear:
Soldier armor (except for Knight legs) with all Emerald Orbs
Full Zerker trinkets (4 ascended)

Strategy:
Cluster Bomb to get rid of orbs (Mug works too but i stopped using it. Switching targets seemed to bring too much hassle and CB did the job on the run).
As mentioned in other thief strategies on here, pop Shadow Refuge on 3rd crystal, wait for CDs and gain breathing room, pop Thiefs Guild.
Basically just kite in a wide circle with SB the rest of the fight, dodge when necessary. Feline Grace, Vigorous recovery and Signet of Agility makes sure you never run out of endurance really. SB skill #3 as a backup when endurance is low. Again, CB for orbs and some bleed damage.

Some thoughts:
As a thief, i believe this fight is really about sustainability more than some other classes due to our fragile nature. You really have to make the most of it and Soldiers gear with Emerald Orbs i found almost a necessity. Going full Zerker i seemed to run out of HP and heal more often than not, even before the 2nd phase.
This is kiting contest and takes some patience from the thief (and some luck with Orb placement of course, regarding the nature of the mechanics).

(Note: this strategy is a combination of other thief strategies already posted, so i’m not taking credit for the strategy really. Thanks goes out to all of those who helped with posting thier strategies, thieves and non-thieves)

Actually this is a really pressing issue. As the story line quests gives a lot of exp, doing story quests while you level in zones makes you balanced with the zone you’re currently leveling in. Now as the story is broken for me, i find myself almost constantly under-leveled in the zone i’m in, making it harder to complete quests and exploring.
I finish an area “prematurely” (do all the quests, explore most of the map etc. I rarely bother with 100% though) and move on to the next, not really ready for the new area level-wise.

I’m 67 now, struggling to survive in Frostgorge Sound. I can’t go back because i already finished everything in Sparkfly Fen, Iron Marches, Fireheart Rise and i can’t continue because i’m too weak.

With my main 80 i never had this problem, because the exp from story line made sure i was always at a balanced level in every zone, all up to 80. Going to try and craft for a while to catch up on exp.
