we were all under the assumption that arenanet wouldnt screw us over with horrible drop rates for skins. we expected to maybe open a few or maybe even 10 chests to get a single skin, not 100. if arenanet was more honest and upfront about the rarity of the skins then there wouldnt have been as big a backlash.

yep, going never going to buy from their cash shop again. i usually would throw 10 bucks at it every now and then to support the game but now that i all lost all trust i am just going to gold to gem it

the advertisement for skins was very misleading. most people were under the impression they would only have to open a few chests (not 50+) in order to get a skin that that is probably not even the one they wanted. fans put a lot of trust in arenanet, thinking that they were different from other companies that are just trying to nickel and dime you: it turns out that we were horribly wrong.

man i am going to post this thread in all the other gaming site forums. this is such a load of garbage, i hope arenanet is ready for the massive backlash. whats worse than a normal forum troll is a betrayed-gw2-fan turned troll. the same people that helped spread the word about how great this game was are the same people that will put the nail into your coffin. by far the worst design choice anet has ever made. i was a gw fanboy for the past 7 yrs but now i have lost all trust and respect i have in this company. you guys are no better than all the greedy cash hungry f2p asian mmo’s out there. before this, i had freely given money to the cash shop to support the game but now i will no longer. i feel so deceived and betrayed, you will now surely feel the wrath of a 7 yr old arenanet fan that has been scorned.

I feel that the sheer amount of npcs that do nothing but stand there are really bad for immersion. when i first started the game i was in the habit of talking to npcs whenever i could to find out some interesting lore or trigger a dynamic event. however, i was disappointed to find that in the game that almost 90% of npcs have nothing useful or interesting to say. it really kills the sense of exploration and immersion when you encounter a new town only to realize that it is just a filler town that doesnt serve any particular purpose or have anything to contribute to game lore.

anyone else feel this way?

1st time: early this week i ran AC explorable, the first dungeon i ran in a week, and i received 15 tokens instead of 60 for completion. this was NOT a DR issue.

2nd time: last night i ran twilight arbor explorable thinking this garbage was fixed, and again i received 15 tokens instead of 60 for completion.

3rd time: since this problem seemed to be only happening with only one of my characters i ran AC explorable with another of my characters. I disconnected right before 3rd boss when i tried to log in I cannot reenter the instance no matter what i do. run into dungeon door, quit and leave party, try to get a party member to leave the dungeon to zone me back in, nothing worked. i would get the dungeon menu popup but nothing would happen when i clicked enter dungeon.

I am a loyal customer and am not one likely to complain, arenanet. however not once, twice, but 3 times i am screwed over by these random dungeon bugs. this is unacceptable. i would like to be compensated for this massive mess that is completely your fault.

Token number - Not getting 60 for every first path

they should be more transparent in telling us what system they are using to nerf our token rewards. i ran my first dungeon route in a week last night and guess what, surprise! only 15 tokens for route completion! not nice when you expected 60… its nice to at least know when you are reaching your weekly quota(or whatever mysterious calculation arenanet is using) or not….

With regards to teaching people its the same if you try to teach a dog. You have to link two events together close to 100% of the time so they understand the association and then you can reduce this percentage later on gradually. You need to be consistent in teaching them that talking to npcs(not just ones with marks on them) will allow you to trigger events.

I think people are so used to the idea that dynamic events should occur just because they happen to be in the area. Most people are not explorers, they just care about leveling up. But they probably would be fine with poking around and inspecting things if they were very blatantly taught that this is what you have to do in order for some events to occur. They are so used to believing that DE only occurs if there are a lot of people around that they give up if they find that they are alone or they just go and camp well known DE spawn sites. I think this is a big problem but can be fixed by blatantly telling them how to find the more uncommon DEs.

Then there’s the other part of the group that just want to lvl and grind don’t care of quality of gaming or whether or not it is DE or just continuously killing the same monster over and over again.

Somehow I haven’t hit this diminishing returns thing yet. I’m lvl 80 and I was just doing whatever DE that came in my way while doing zone completion in cursed shore. Same thing when I did eternal battlegrounds right after. This is like a 4 hr+ gaming session as well. Then again I moved around a lot and I tried as much as possible to not farm the same DE over and over.

Judging by the complaints raised in the various forums its been very clear that GW2 is suffering from trying to cater to too wide of a player base in terms of skill. Both parties get angry when they encounter some content that is either too easy or too hard for them and complain that arenanet isn’t catering to them enough. Is it even possible to have both playing the same game? easy skill lvl players complain they shouldn’t have to recruit a friend if content is too hard for them and should be able to solo everything. Difficult skill players complain that they can barely stay awake playing through content designed for low lvl skill players (75% of the game).

Thanks arenanet!! I’ve played mmorpgs for more than a decade and its very clear when playing the game how much effort was made in all aspects of it. I hit lvl 80 last week and I know that I will be playing this game for a very very long time.

i think the difficulty is fine. a lot of people are willing to learn but not when repairing your armor costs 5 silver each time. money is hard to come by as is.

anyone else think this would be a nice function? its too much of a hassle to be in town and you have to go into inventory to swap into your town clothes. i feel like people will care more about town clothes and have more incentive to buy them in the shop if it wasnt such a hassle to equip them all the time. maybe also giving us a new skill set to accompany our town clothes(emote based skills)?
