5 vs 5 takes a long time to gather the 5 players of the same mmr/ranking at the same time its a good system but could open more game mods and more fun ones exept just 1 game mode of pvp

1. 1 vs 1 arena
-salvage any map capture point(any capture point of any map can be redesigned to fit for a 1 vs 1 map)
-1 vs 1 can be 3 rounds of 3 minutes(3 min of fighting time is enough for any class to make full combos and forces a player not to only be a tank but a bruiser or a glass-cannon) total match time is 9 minutes
-fight over 1 capture point(same rules for points now on capture points as it is in 5 vs 5 current arena) but only a 5 seg respawn time with a small map would be 10 seg to get back into the fight)
-no automatic health recover in pvp untill death(wisely use your heal skill)
-100-150 points to win 1 round
-in case of equal score add dmg as a point win

2. 3 vs 3 arena
- the match starts with 1 vs 1 and evry 1 min 1 more team mate can enter the match at 3 min the teams are 3 vs 3
-1 middle point capture and maybe a add a beast that gives 25 points to encourage teamwork more
-1st team to get to 300 points win the match(could be 250 also) not to make the game not long or to short
-same rules as 5 vs 5 with capture point
-respawn time could be 5-10 seg to make for a faster more combat game
-no auto health recovery exept death

3. 5 vs 5(maybe 10 vs 10)
-leave the 5 vs 5(or make it 10 vs 10) as it is but put on premade teams,so clans can form teams and fight each other something even pve/w vs w clans would enjoy and make it a death game ,no points no nothing just points for killing your evemy with full team respawn if not 5 seg individual respawn so it makes for a countinued fight all the match

more game modes can bring in more ppl to pvp depending on their prefrence,individual ranking,3 vs 3 team ranking and also clan ranking

as a main guardian:
-since HoT release all we seen were nerf after nerf after nerf to the point where ppl were asking you to change at high lvl pvp.
-season 3 decided to go only with guardian to legend and did it even if it was a total pain from half diamond up,you were on top of your game or you were food:))

The problem its not DH ,the problem is class stacking,not only dh but mesmer or warr or druid or rev,same as 2 guards stack traps same could be said and its even more deadly 2 warrs hitting you with mace F1 insta death or with mesmer(2x shatter) same with druids same with necro ,its class stacking what ruins most matches and pvp in general

this is just my personal opinion about balance and build diversity:

1.split pve from pvp/wvw (i pair up pvp with wvw because wvw its a open world pvp mode more than pve) skills and traits,that would avoid some skills and traits beeing weak in pve and to strong in pvp and the other way around also.

2.- make a 1 vs 1 arena mode,would make it easy for the devs to track down skills and trais that are strong ,making 5 vs 5 mode more balanced also
-a 1 vs 1 mode will also help players pvp skills grow and know their limit and not blame their team each time a match goes bad in 5 vs 5
– a 1 vs 1 mode would be more fun because you have to change the traits/weapons/utility for each class you will fight,so you have to know better your class and your enemys class.
-in a 1 vs 1 mode players would learn better what class is their counter making them in 5 vs 5 know in what fight they can go and what fight is better to avoid
-a 1 vs 1 mode would help new players really learn to fight without aoe and condi spam in group fights,they would learn to recognize skills thats hit hard and what is to avoid

recive the light is a good heal but shelter works better when you get to the point of tanking 2-3 ppl because the 2 sec block means removing 2 conditions and a 100% heal and negate all incoming dmg,and 2 sec in this spam all your skills and heavi condi meta meta means a lot also with sheter removing 2 condi from you means you will use your shouts more for your allys to remove their condis than needing them for yourself

the trapa are good also,but you have to know that you already have 2 stability on demant stand your ground and F3 and with the trait Bulwalk you have a extra 2 sec block and a 33% increase in the shield and that means 7 sec block shield and a 7 condis removed and with RF you get to a total of 14 sec block and a 14 condis removed on top of the 3 sec inv from RF even if it is on a 90 sec cd,and that gives a lot of time for your team to get to the point you are holding to help you out,and that doesnt count the shield and focus blocks and the retreat shout

and i did get from ruby to legend with this build,at end diamond was dificult mostly because enryone expect you to be meditrapper and dont stay close to you usualy for the heals and support,have to chase mostly ppl around to heal them:)))

yes outgoing heal would be good also but i prefer a little more dmg presure to help your team since you will be in melle mostly and one that cant be corrupted by necro or removed/stolen by other classes,the dmg the mace 3 does and the auto chain attck its a pretty decent one

with this build made it from ruby to legendary,was a hard road due to my usualy bad luck with ppl in my team dc-ing and afk players again and again made it to legendary and was actualy fun to play….

the sword/focus can be changed to staff if you are going to bunker more but i belive sword/focus is a better choice.

just a small tip:use Retreat on the way to mid or if you go close use it at start to give your team a start game block so they can make it easy to the point.

I run a shout dh with staff/mace shield and does better than meditrapper,you can 1 vs 2 untill help comes(exept if you get a mesmer/warr+ necro vs you….thats a fast death due to the amount of daze stuns),only problem is f2 can be stopped in mid air and f3 can be stopped but thats not the problem,the problem is that it you get the full cd on them and that doesnt seem right……

[Suggestion] League needs to be reworked.

The problem i see mostly is that ppl treat pvp as pve,if i join i must get rewards,i must move foward,i see ppl with less than 300 ranked matches complaining about pvp,i bet that most pvpers go in pve and dont have a clue about many pve events and best ways to do them…..its kind of funny really…..

What i would like to see is next to each persons name on the forum the ranked matches played and mmr,that would make more clear some things…..

There are difrent builds that do work that dont inbolve medi o meditrapper,but thats for the main guards who played for years,the problem is that with dh ppl tend to go for the old builds and change them to add the dh trait line to it,to actualy make a good dh build you have to give up the old guardian mentality and start from 0 making a build,ive seen in pvp a few guards runnig some nice builds and myself run a celestial bruise build that i do enjoy very much……..the problem are the metabattle so called guards that copy-paste and thats all they know

Most of the above always have been ingame,the new additions is the uptime chill that also does dmg from necro,daze from druid and traps guards,taunt and stun from revs,and you see it now more ingame because of the bunker meta we have atm.without the CC you dont stand a chance against revs,mesmers ressing instant,high sustain engi even on marauder…

You know that if anet will nerf traps most guards will change to revs and mesmers and the matchups would be even worse but hey a new thing to cry about,most of them alredy did that,the ones that are left playing it are the ones who are not ready to give up on their most loved class after playing it for years……

A 5 sec block on a 65 sec cd if you take the virtues line on the lowest hp pool class and you say its Op?come what i would give as a gurd for ypur hp pool and your Ds,necros ds charges atleast 2 times or maybe 3 while the guard waits for that kitten cd to go ……activating the F3 also you lose the pasive for those 65 sec cd/75 not traited….

Leagues are good, balance is not.

Maybe make a premade alos not that hard,i see it all the time in Hotm map ppl asking and making party before going into a match,atleast in EU,me for 1 am looking always in my clan and friend list and try to make atleast a 3 ppl pt,and its not that hard also.

Never understood really why ppl like playing solo,pvp its a 5 man team,even if you solo you are still a part of a 5 kan team so you are not actually solo…just a way to blame other players if you lose a game…..

What i would like to see is a ranked arena of 1 vs 1 with 1 point to fight over….then a soloQ would actualy be a soloQ since ppl wana play the game solo and not as a team.

Even if you soloQ you are part of a team of 5 ppl….so in mo way the game reflects your actual skill as a pvper,but a 1 vs 1 ranked arena would do that

Hey check my post it seems fairly similar, but I suggest nerfing the rewards to diamond players rather than heavily punishing the Amber as maybe they do just want to play together selflessly, averaging their MMR should lead to balanced matches unless the Amber is secretly much better than his MMR shows.

The problem with that is that lower divisions will lose pips when fighting higher division with a amber in pt and we go back to the same problem we have now.

On the other side when ruby ppl for example take a amber in pt and click on the ranked match a pop-up would apear for the amber player telling him his division and mmr will be boosted and if accepts well what happens next in the match is his own problem
This will also stop pvper make alt accounts to boost the their guild team rating ajd division while punishing lower skilled division player

When ruby and above division ppl take amber in the pt the amber players mmr and division should be boosted to the highest division player in their party,that way the pt will fight their own division and wont be able to farm lower division players.I mean if they wana carry a amber in a 4 diamond player party its their problem,not to bother the lower skilled division player and farm them.

hehe very true but thats the problem you win by 500-100/200 or lose by 500-100/200 its more than anything just luck over skillfull play…
on a side nore:today got a dude who asked what happened to skyhammer and courtyard in ranked and was thinking to myself-we are kitten and indeed we lost that one ,kinda funny

Its just to much already what its going on with 2-3-4 Trap DH in each game,that is not even close to what would call a skillful game…just brainless trap spamming like a crono spams shatters,its just to much already,and its killing actualy the pvp part of the game,and dont tell me its L2p thing coz i do play guardian and trap dh and come on leave traps on a point and just wait and see who gets put down 1st without any actual skill…and dont tell me just dodge coz you dont have only the Dh traos to dodge in a match,thats fine in a 1 v1 scenario but in a team fight it gets near to imposible to dodge the traps,you have to worry about other ppl also not only the dh traps and save your dodge for him alone……..like come on isnt it time to start balancing thing around?

For one i loved this game for its free to play what mode you want,now i am forced to grind for the kitten hero points,Gw2 its becoming like the traditional MMO where you are forced to grind if you want something basic,not gears,not items but the hero points,they should of warned us that you must grind your kitten off for masteries just to get the heropoints,why did i had to pay the expasion so i can be forced to go PVE and forced grind if i want to play a specialization….

After seeing that all ,well most classes got out weapons/trait skill upgraded (war-torch/herald-shield/reaper-greatsword/thief-heal+increase dmg on dodge) Guardian feels like a Old retired soldier whos moment has passed on and now will fade in the memory of the ones who got to knew the guardian in his time of glory.

so far from the 1st beta my own opinion in pvp/wvw

*Direct Damage-1/10
2 skill keeps you rooted for 1 sec,more than enough time for heavy dps to take you down due to low hp pool,could have 3 times more dmg still keeps you rooted
1 skill scepter is way better
5 skill activates at the end of the cast ,any enemy with a brain can walk out,doesnt even have to roll,just walk out of the area
*Condition Damage- 1/10 exept burning we dont have any other strong condition the lack of dps on bow makes is easy to clean the burning
*Support-1/10 no support like any other good weapons guard has
*Defense-1/10 dont even have to comment on this
*Control-1//10 the 5 skill easy to avoid ,to easy

could be a great weapon if they work on it with a little more interest until the release of HoT

why i dont play burn guard?hmm lets see,i play dps medi guard with sigils of generosity,burn guard its medium dps with 1 strong condi:burn,so in 1 vs 1 i enjoy fighting burn guards,let them stack 3-4 burns on me pass it back to them and add my weak burning on top of it,usualy drops them very low on hp and drow out all their utility,only prob i had with burn guards is in team fights when i dont see them coming,they drop me in 5 sec :p

i do speak 3 languages on a daily basis and english is not my native language,cant say much about the ones who are native english speaking ppl and still do mistakes but cry about it

This is not to defend or go against Anet,just trying to make something clear to some ppl lets say slower minded to understand 2 things:
1-Anet is a company and they funccion as one
2-there is a life outside a game(its a game-the moment you dont have fun in a game or takes over your life well you have to realize you have a problem) and Gw2 has more than 1 time of gameplay:WvW/PvP/Pve if you dont like one of them for 1 day/1 week/1 month move to another

The fire a dev that had been seeing over and over again you do realize that this decisions are made by a colective of workers in Anet,not by 1 and only person.the devs are the workers and mostly do as they are told by the ppl in charge of marketing and higher-ups in the company and i bet they read the forums but cant actualy respond to players themselfs because mainly they have a department for public relations who takes charge of responding to players,like marketing takes charge in saying this can go out and this can not or atleast not atm.

instead of raging maybe this could be a window to open a dialogue betwen the WvW players andd Anet like:Oke we tryed your event for one week,we didnt liked it because of this,that and many other things,for the next one would be better if for example:golem rush week:Ac do doble dmg to golems,gates have doble defence against golems attacks or the Cd after the capture or a objective be 15 min instead of 5

rageing and pointing fingers would only make more trouble for players and Anet workers alike,wouldnt it be better to do some good feedback like normal ppl not like some frustrated retared monkeys?

since this balance/unbalance patch and so many topics on the matter there is a easy fix to it since seems its a war on the forums:mesmer nerfs—-anti-mesmer nerfs,burn-anti-burn nerf and so on(seems evry class should be nerfed in the end exept the one you/I play and its funny).the solutions would be for the players side untill anet will finaly show us the way the intend to go with all of this:

1.-if you like pvp so much go in private arenas with your friends/enemys and fight the classes/builds that give you the most problems and change the build you have to counter that as best as you can(i know i changed my guard/necro/ranger the best i could to counter some of the builds that gave me troble).Going just for meta builds its oke,but most of those meta builds and not soloQ,are teams made to benefit each other from the mechanics of each class build,as a example:you go for bunker guardian and soloQ you get a team that doesnt know how to play with the build you running making your build less efective than you would expect.
2.-dont go into pvp exept to do your dailys if you really must,give it t try to pve/WvW more and leave pvp on the background untill you feel the changes you wanted more or less are adressed and fixed.make a new legendary or get more acheivments or whatever you wanted to do in pve/wvw
3.-Play those builds/classes that rule the pvp area of the game(they say mesmer its op,why dont you just play one and take advantage of that/burning ele is op-play burning ele/rampage warrior is Op-play rampage warrior)you just need a new toon lvl 2 nothing more in pvp,make one and play it untill you feel your favorite class is once again balance to stay on the same ground as the other ones.

Isnt it time for Anet to reply?

never actualy created a topic on the forums before but i am actually getting tired of this,most the comunity(well as far as i can see from the WvW/PvP posts) know the issues with this big recent patch and have again and again reported them on the forum but no official reply it seems so far and you know it does create a lot of disputes and anger and hate among players/costumers.

just gona put the most common posts ive seen around,wont go to much in the subject:

-the burning stacks on some classes/builds that are more powerfull than the rest of the conditions applied on the same stack number(ppl changed their gears/items,made new toons to get this new burning meta)
-mesmers(wont get into it since its a lot of pros and cons on mesmers skills/traits and i dont play mesmer,but i am forced to play in pvp/roaming the only class so far ive seen who can stand his ground vs most mesmers:guardian,but thats just me)
-warriors rampage:i see it stronger than a lich,just get to the point get rampage on and clean the point in pvp and i refer to pvp because there ive seen it the most efective

Wouldnt it be great if Anet would state their position on the matters that are nost common among players?

list of nerfs for me as a main guard player:
-Burning- burning stacks to much and the dmg on some classes/builds is to much,maybe leave it as it was,no stacks but increase the duration on burning
-Mesmers-only problem i had with them is the stealth,they can go in invi more than the main invi class(thief),taking some of that stealth out would let them a lil more vulnerable(didnt really had a problem with killing mesmers-auto attack all the clones so no strong shatter,lock the main and go with all you have on him but ya he goes in stealth most times)

-thief backstab-dont really have a problem with that because i know they will come with backstab so put: a block out,symbol as a guard/wells/symbols down around you as a necro,or just get your rolls ready coz you know hes gona backstab

the answer is so simple to all the nerfs we got,all retire the guard and all guards play for example Engi,once the servers are overpopulated by engis they will nerf it and we move to the next class and so on till we get it to the guard lvl in nerfs,after we can take out our guards again :P

I agree with Morfeus ,being my main and 1 class i play most the guardian,it seems so unfair what is going on with the guardian and what most ppl focus on :Bunker guardian,support guardian,with the low mobility we already have(WvW,Roaming,Pvp) and the nerf in the distance in the virtues we are getting kinda useless,until you get to the fight or position yourself most fights are almost over,and with the low range on virtues even harder to keep up with most classes to be able to support them like we do now being a meditation guardian or a support/bunker guardian.

Its funny and sad at the same time when you look at the guardian profession description:
Guardian

Guardians are devoted fighters who protect their allies and smite their enemies by drawing from the power of their virtues. True guardians are brilliant tacticians and selfless defenders who know when to sacrifice their own defenses to empower their allies to achieve victory.

We keep sacrificing more and more with less results and we have less to sacrifice also with each skill balance that is if we get in time to our allies before they die.
