Wow, selling is antigaming…that’s something new for the card.
It’s still bad, and they should really remove items like skill scroll and essences of luck from the table.
Leaving the game for now is what most people would do (if they arent interested in other aspects of the game, already happened to most on my friendslist). They will probably come back to check things out when there is new content. Bug fixes and better rewards/reasons to run them would be nice but it’s not gonna keep people here for long.
Prob a waste of time
if you see the lfg sometimes there is only path seller
normal groups fill up faster than selling groupspeople need to PAY to get in a dungeon
you can do it yourself for freei tink this is not in the spirit of a people cooperation, becouse people get kikked by the path sellers from the istance
there are some kittens but many sellers are legit(i don’t tink someone can do all the istance alone and after they sell :P),
it’s possible to solo dungeons in Gw2and from another perpective ipotize the new players don’t have money to buy path?
at those players is forbidden the istance?
it’s a service, you are not forced to buy ityes you will again tell that they can make their own group, but how they do if the most time they get kikked or top player don’t want play whit them or there is (like always) only path sellers?
there are many reasons players get kicked, ‘all welcome’ group fills quickly, and you cant expect ppl to carry youdo you realize this is not a good way to encourage people to play togheter?
the players that buy paths are generally not interested to complete it themselves, however there are many others who doif you want to make gold there is other ways like crafting.
not sure if seriousAnd please, tell my own entering in a dungeon boss 1% paying is “gaming” or i just suppose you like to pay to win?
Some players don’t like dungeons/PVE but would do it just for achievments/skins/tokens so they have more time for something else, also there is really nothing much to win here

Gw2 is great at attracting new players but terrible at keeping them.
Hi, wanted to share a little of my experiences as I find myself in the same shoes as OP. I PUG most of the time too, so I do have some armor pieces to switch just in case.
I did learn alot more about the class after dropping 30 Valor and Toughness/Vit gear. At first I switched my trinkets and weapons to Berserkers then gradually the armor pieces. I’m still not confident taking off 30 points in Honor, so I guess it’s more practice till I’m comfortable with a lower HP pool. I do feel discouraged at times when I get downed alot in the beginning, but it gets better
Besides the numbers you see will make it tempting to play
One does have to be more proactive at dodging/positioning/activating skills and paying attention to the animations of bosses. Knowing your encounters helps alot and swapping utilties/weapons beforehand helps too.
I found most of the tips on surviving from the community: (GW2guru is also good if you’re looking for more DPScentric builds)
- 15 in Radiance would give you spammable blind for trash mobs
- using combos like light field from symbols or Wall to cure conditions
- keep protection up with hammer when you need it
- reflect projectiles / absorb with shield bubbles
- moving in fights/staying behind bosses
- Shelter, focus #5, aegis from Retreat / Virtue gives on demand block for the big hits if timed right
- getting your crit chance high for vigor if you have points in Honor
- Sigil of Energy if you need more dodges
- Renewed Focus gives invulnerability
- Virtue tree has good support (Absolute Resolution/Indomitable Courage) and increases your boon duration
Would we be happy if we only get new Fractals later? Fractals doesnt cut it for me. A new format of elite areas based on ‘open’ maps like Arah with dynamic challenges you have to complete like Underworld/Realm of Torment in Gw1 would win me over.
But alas, joyous occasion cannot last. Among the shadows lurk an evil and menacing being. The aura around this being is the very essence of sickness. His heitred and bile is amplified by the incoherent garbage that comes out of his mouth, “gargle gargle y u git so much gold… u no ddeeeeesseeerrrve it… y i no hab legendarrrry… gargle cough spit u no deserve, U NO DESERVE! I AM THE CELESTIAL-KNIGHT”
With a horrifying display of power, this evil Celestial-Knight forcibly plucks our Hero out of the dungeon, destroying all of his work in a series of seconds it takes to click a few mouse buttons. This goes on for centuries.
Our Hero screams in pain, “Why, gods of creation of gw2! Why do you let such bile hold so much power over us! Is there no justice?”
Only silence answers him.
When you laugh, the whole world laughs with you; when you cry, you cry alone.
10/10. Would read again.
Hi, here are some suggestions based on what others have been raising. I don’t know if it’s at all possible to program the party system this way, but it would be much appreciated if Ryan could help enlighten us.
Transferable ‘Party Leader’ status
- Player who opened dungeon has a ‘Party Leader’ icon next to their names in party list.
- If Party Leader is vote kicked instance will close / or Leader is immune to kick.
- If Party Leader uses /leave, switches character or goes offline, the Leader status is transferred to another member.
Why keep the ‘Party Leader’ as owner?
- To allow players the choice of protecting themselves from being kicked by starting the instance, this status is visible to other players during the run. So in a way the leader sets the goals/requirements of the party, but is free to leave party.
- This still won’t protect dungeon sellers as they can still be kicked out of their instance, but griefers won’t be able kick them and invite friends.
How will this affect PUGS?
- Party Leaders won’t kill the instance if he quits halfway in, accidentally switched characters, or goes offline.
- Griefers can’t steal instances by booting people at the end of a run and inviting friends.
Additional Suggestions
- Party chat is not wiped when leaving instance / changing maps.
- Debug messages in chat log for whoever joins/leaves (or even vote kick)?
- If not, allow a ‘recent group members’ tab in lfg tool that lists the players we were recently in contact with.
- Allow a time grace period before the instance closes if theres only 1 player (like it works now).
- Add a confirmation warning to the person who seconds when voting to kick Party Leader.
- Increase vote count to majority instead of 2/5
More reasons for leader ownership
Under the current system the owner is safe and, by extension, everyone else that he/she is friendly with is also safe; this could mean that if the owner condones/participates in kicking to make room for friends, then you’re in trouble, but it also means if the owner doesn’t condone it he/she can cancel party invites or even close the instance to prevent the people who kicked you from benefiting.
Under the new system two people (assuming they don’t change the voting threshold) can completely take over the instance, regardless if the owner agrees or not; neither you nor the owner will be able to “get back” at them because the kickers won’t be posting on LFG, they’ll be inviting friends directly, so not only do you lose any hope of being insured against this behavior, it completely removes the punishment for hijacking dungeon parties.
Additionally you’ll probably see a sharp decline in PUGs, because the only way to insure against being kicked will be to form a group with at least four friends, leaving room for only one random player; so not only will your risk go up, but your ability to find groups on LFG will suffer.

This title doesnt really mean anything as you can unlock skins exclusively with PvP reward tracks. I do like the ascended reward rings however.
Honestly, a guide similar to this held me back for ~6 months. Here I was thinking yeah tanking hits and soaking up damage is good, when little did I know, I was a detriment to every pug I entered. I figured this popular guide must know what’s going on. So I spent a bunch of gold and tanked hits like a ‘pro’, barely getting better.
Same thing happened to me when I started out on Guard, I was looking into builds and gear that would give me 3k attack / def and 16+HP. It’s great that we now have a DPS Guardian guide stickied.
I guess how this ‘BEST Guardian Build’ guide appeals to newer players is that it proposes a single all rounded build using a single set of celestial armor and trinkets so they would not have to switch between builds and get additional gear for Zerging/Roaming/PVE/Achievements(lol), even more so with the addition of Ascended armor and the time/gold required to craft full sets. Plus that defensive stats makes them so tanky (dead dps = no dps) so it must be good.
It is not pointless OP.. the cripple, it gives immersion. Have you ran through Orr? the mobs there chill, immob and cripple a ton too, it’s lovely.
300 ping is already good enough, for ppl in SEA/OCX it is >300-400+ms all the time.
too bad you need to use a 3rd party VPN to play the game. PingZapper and most VPN also has a monthly fee. the only decent free one i could fine is Windscribe.

RIP in peace o Fiery, I shall transmute my Twilight to Volcanus in your honor.
Not sure if bugged or intended stealth nerf from Anet? When was the cooldown added to the tooltip? o.0
@Kurr:
I guess you are free to leave, I just didnt expect you’d give up so easily. Though you must understand that these players are ones who were passionate and contributed much time (in making guides/videos, teaching newer players etc). They have stuck with the game for the longest time and most are not suprisingly jaded since devs barely ever visit the sub and countless suggestions/bug reports have been repeatedly ignored.
What I feel is needed first, is a gesture of goodwill from Anet that they will really put an effort to making small things happen (eg, reward balancing & really fixing bugs/exploits) in coming patches but most importantly sincere communication with the players.
I get bored so I pick out a noob from the low level areas sometimes and rear them up to be a filthy meta scumbag like myself. I’m always so proud of them, warms the cocles of me heart to see em growin up.
That sound like fun, can never have enough filthy zerkers :P
As for OP, why not check out [Noob] guild sticky on front? Ofc don’t join zerk speed experienced only groups if you are new. There are many guilds that will help newer players and if you create your own group, some vets dont mind joining to help.
p1 80s experienced zerker only.
Staff guard, bowbear, GS mesmer, pistol thief.
Rage at maximum.
They had to remove all the the nicer sets. Glad I managed to grab the fused sword I pined for although it did cost me my stash of charged cores T_T I had 2 tickets saved up but was no where near to getting 5 tickets for a wep.
Play how you want. -Anet
this subforum is better than playing the game today.
I still do Fractals just to get a good roll for that chance of a skin that I dont yet have/tonic. But now that you’ve reminded me I have a new signature.
Please, no, never. Megaserver has already screwed the opportunity to properly fight some bosses and reduced interesting world events like Temple/champs to afk fights.
It would possibly be better if the current set of dungeons are left as it is (besides fixing most of the bugs) and not revamped till Anet has real resources for a dungeon team.
Farm SE p2 for the launch codes.
Black lion pvp end game
If you remove them, what’s to stop them adding you again? Blocking works much better.
Love the increased dmg on Powerful Blades. Havent tried out the new SoS, but it seems to hamper a already slow moving Guardian
There are some ‘dark’ areas like Snowblind fractal and Forsaken Halls. But yes, besides ambience some darker themes would be welcomed, much like what was said about Cantha’s slums and places like DoA in Gw1 where you’re surrounded by powerful mobs.
Found this place called Malchor’s Fingers, while its nearly on the edge of the map and has not much risen around it can be eerie.
