Yeah the Yahoo issue is terrible at the moment.
I raised a ticket for my partner and then got DC’d from the Internet which then logged me out and then I got the issue on my own account and couldn’t even log back in here to comment myself. Managed to get support to remove my authentication.
Partner’s ticket #35231 never received an auto-reply from Support unlike my account. Raised another ticket #38584 with serial code which has seemed to get the auto-reply this time.
I am also posting on behalf of a friend who can’t log in. They raised a ticket #35231 and have not even received an email to suggest it was raised so i’m assuming their emails are getting blocked by yahoo.
They haven’t found the serial number yet but are still looking.
I downloaded the newer beta driver from Nvidia and it fixed the problem.
How terrible you can’t wait one more month when you’ve already had 10 months since they were released. Terrible indeed. sarcasm intended.
EVERY game will be a grind if you pull the ‘OMG I need it now argument’. Try playing the game without trying to rush through everything in one day.
I haven’t even started looking at crafting yet and the patch has been out for most of a week. I’ll start by slowly doing the normal world activities and level it gradually, while continuing to play the game as I normally would do. No grind at all for me.
I played a lot during the first year of GW 1 (Prophecies) and to be honest, there was very little new content added. I wasn’t that interested in PVP so time was mostly spent leveling new characters or running people across the maps. That is one mini-game like feature I wish they DID have in this game as it was kinda fun.
From a PVE perspective, there has been a heck of a lot more content in GW 2 than there was in GW 1.
I admittedly, didn’t like the theme of Factions and stopped playing shortly after its release.
No, I still had my old baubles in my bank which admittedly, didn’t last long.
Why are people so kitten ed at the Trib nerf?

People keep going on the geysers being related to skill. They nerfed them because they were buggy and they weren’t working as well as they wanted them too. Jumping on the geysers wasn’t the issue at all. Having to deal with the buggy animations not registering you on them, was.
The water sprouts were not hard, they were buggy. You could be clear on top of it and it would still think you weren’t. Whether there’s any relevance to latency or not, it was still annoying and nothing to do with ‘skill’.
Of which, none of your whiny posts qualify.
It is most likely not possible to change the engine mechanics and limit it to a single mode of play.
It may be something they look to address in the next day but they could easily take the stance to simply make 98% of their players happier and leave the other 2% that has already done it, to simple live with it.
Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work

No, it is not ‘easy’. It might be ‘easier’ for someone who already knows exactly what to do but for someone who has no knowledge, it will still be a challenge.
I think a lot of people will complain about nothing.
If things have been unintentionally made easier than they will be fixed.
Didn’t realise they made the content just for you.
Wouldn’t mind knowing the answer to this as well.
Before Christmas I was having packet drops en-route to their servers so they wouldn’t assist me and said I should contact my ISP. They are aware they have issues but wont’ say what they are.
In the mean time, you can do what I did and sign up for a proxy services like WTFAST and it should hopefully resolve most issues like that.

Losing connection to the game server randomly. Only been happening in the last day since I got back from holiday.
I think soloing swamp for vials was actually quite common. I know a few people who were doing that but complaining about them nerfing it is amusing.
Cloaks may only have one way to acquire them but eventually i’m sure there will be another. Just hope its not on guild mission rewards.
The new dailes are a great improvement. I rarely have to know what i’m doing before I’ve completed most of them. They are very transparent which is a really good thing.
Still mixed opinions on the monthly as I feel there isn’t enough to do for that. I’ll have it completed tomorrow already and I’ve not gone out of my way to do any of it.
There are plenty of ways to make money and to get the items you really want takes some effort. It’s not meant to hand them to you on a platter.
You think conditions are easy? One button press underwater completes the dodge achievement on a thief :o

Some enemies have been changed but not everything. I know specifically, Krait are quite a different kettle of fish in some zones.
Problem is if there is any sign of packet loss before their servers, they will tell you to go talk to your ISP.
I’ve been having issues with this game specifically for months and when I did a PingPlotter, Arenanet told me ‘it wasn’t their servers’ and to talk to my ISP.
My ISP basically told me the reverse.
I still get skill lag from time to time and I’m sadly playing the game less and less because of it.
Its worth going through the checks though for your use.
If you’re looking for e-sports type stuff then they’ve already said its coming..this year. If you expect competitive PVE then as many have said, this isn’t the game for you.
There are no Raids or hardmodes etc.
Accomplishment achievements will be added but adding competitive achievements (outside PvP) would most likely discourage a lot of the current playerbase.
Its usually PST US time or similar. Expect it to be available between 8-30 hours from now
Given that the devs say they have all these wonderful tools to make cool new game elements reapidly, they should create a special Jail map and instead of banning/suspending people for indiscretions, relocate them there and let them run around mindlessly with little or no ability to say/do anything.
If anything it would be amusing to see the reactions.
I live in NZ and I always add one day to anything they put on their site in my head automatically.
They NEVER said it would launch on the 14th in my timezone and realistically, if you don’t live in the US you should stop expecting it to be in your own timezone.
I hate RNG, and I took NCSoft at their word that it wasn’t required. That’s why I avoid most things that rely on it for loot, courtesy of another NCSoft game, AION.
So I’ll likely keep avoiding Fractals.
You’re comparing grind in GW 2 to Aion…I mean….seriously?
Yes, adds do not despawn any more making this fight near impossible.
I was advised by support to run Pingplotter for about 30 mins to the IP I was connected to in GW 2 ( /IP in game).
It showed some higher than normal latency in the first hop locally and some packet loss in the middle (telia.net) server.
I tried connecting through WTFast when it was lagging and it did appear to fix the lag.
Perhaps others from NZ/Australia might want to try a similar thing and report how that goes.
I’m also on Vodaphone and I don’t think you probably can ping some of those servers directly.
Logged on around 3AM PST (10PM NZ) and still have ability lag issues.
Just tried again a couple laters, so 5AM PST (12AM NZ) and I have no issues at all. Everything is back to normal. So I’m seeing mostly a problem in the 7 PM-Midnight window (Midnight – 5AM PST).
I’d give the ISP a thought but other online games appear to be functioning properly which still makes me think there’s an issue with the GW servers.
Same time of night and same game lag again.
Looked at network resources and latency jumps a bit between 230 and 300-400 at times. Last few steps (with the IP’s) take a while to display.
Tested out WoW and abilities are smooth.
Did a traceroute on the IP mentioned:

After looking through posts regarding similar issues, I can confirm that this appears to be network/server lag that i’m experiencing. Seems to be common around 10-11PM PST onwards (thats only because i’m not home earlier – playing from NZ). Ping and latency appear fine. FPS is fine.
Others online games appear fine. Issue only seems to be server response i.e messaging delays, skill and abilities delays etc.
I tried this morning (about noon PST) and it was perfectly fine, no issues at all.
Seeing numerous posts about these type of network/server issues. Some response from Anet would be nice.
Glad to see there are others that have noticed lag issues in the last few days. Trying to play at the moment but getting intermittent pauses between skill abilities, sometimes a few seconds and its quite annoying.
Done speedtests from the ISP, no issues. Logged onto another mmo, again, smooth as can be.
I’ve looked at the system resources and the connection seems to be fine as I have 200 ms which is the same as most online games I play.
For some reason, skills and abilities are being affected. I had the framerate showing while auto-casting and even during the pauses, FPS is constantly over 30 FPS.

Don’t see the real issues that people are complaining about, to be honest.
Exotic gear is very easy to obtain and yet you don’t need it to be successful.
Been told by a friend that I am not doing myself justice by not getting the best exotic gear I can get.
This was a month ago not after this patch. People have this mentality and have always had it.
It isn’t anything new.
Gear grind complaints after this patch? Seriously? People have been ‘grinding’ in this game since the beginning.
What exactly do you call running the same events over and over and over for loot, gold, karma..
I played GW 1 for a while and i’ve played GW 2 for a while. I much prefer the latter.
Oh and this is a very casual game. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want.
Don’t like what other are asking for? Arrange something yourself. Its not hard.
