I can’t speak for the entire server nor would I even pretend I could, but every person I fight with on CD doesn’t care what tier we’re in, who our enemies are, or what place we’re in. We care about fights, whether it be over some building (a tower or keep) or in the open field. We care about improving our game and doing the very best we can even when we’re outnumbered, which tends to happen a bunch lately with our luck in match-ups.

We do not “sit back” and enjoy first place. I can almost guarantee you that if BP and Ebay want to double team CD, no one on CD would give a kitten. It would only make us better.

So go for it, if 1st place is so important to you.

Tell your PvDer’s to leave the server then. Go join T1/2 servers who pay for their services

Ebay once had the beginnings of off hour coverage and ya know what? I’m glad they kittening left the server. Most players during that time zone are the biggest fair weather-bandwagoning people i’ve ever seen in a video game.

Another point since you piped in here Gismor, I know for a fact you want to make a difference on CD, it’s obvious and you’ve made it a goal. Know this though Gismor, we are not from where you came from, we’re not all like you and yours and what you’re trying to build. We don’t all want to be on TS3, some don’t want to hear a kitten thing beyond game sounds. Know this though, CD folks do watch keeps, do watch towers, do run dolyaks. I strongly agree with Gismor and his dedication to bring fellow CD into TS. I know first hand how difficult it is to get into TS as it took from the start of GW2 to somewhere in Jan/Feb this year that we are finally able to get KoME to get used to TS. Our performance improved tremendously since than. It is already difficult it is to get our own people to embrace TS, imagine how much harder it is to get the rest of the server to do it? Personally, I am impressed by Gismor’s effort to get people in.

It’s your choice not to be on TS, but you do not need to berate the efforts of others who have their own way of how they think best in helping the server.

And yes, please do express your personal opinion towards a fellow CD on the CD WvW forum and not here.

How do you know that if it is not part of a server wide bait and switch strategy when we kitten our opponent servers enough that they send a Zerg to clear us out while the rest of CD takes SMC? It seems to be working as our opponents are indeed kitten enough to start a new forum thread on this.

Yes the game is about numbers atm,yes cd cant match tc.
We got that part.
SoR had us undermanned almost 24/7 in the previous match up,we still took sm from them 5 times.
And SoR was kept outside our towers for hours.
Personaly i am looking down on CD atm not because of theyr coverage or people that are in but because they just surrendered.
I am on SoS 9 months,i hate my own server at times yet there are two things i hate more.
Giving up and Surrendering.
Each day i wake up,i recap what we lost and siege it up and defend it.
And i do that everyday ,no matter how i much i dislike the rest commanders that the first thing they do when they get in is to run to headbutt the enemy dragging more down with them.
If you were for a momment on our side during our overlook defences,you wont see despair drama and nagging (except mez,he is our drama mascot so we let him rant) .
You would see that we are actually haveing fun,that instead of going into panic we are actually farming the enemy for badges since we dont cling like morons to the guardian/ele/hammer warrior combo zerg.
So CD please WAKE UP and start defending at least something with pride instead of lifting your legs and surrendering.

I’m sorry but who the hell you are to talk about CD giving up and surrendering while you don’t know ANYTHING about the current CD , if we just gave up , we would’nt go to SoS bl yesterday capping fully upgraded Bay and garrison and matching with TC numbers with EVEN numbers for the first time and we came out there to try what we have learned so far , you wanna talk tactics ? why would a group of 15 SoS attack North bay while our zerg is in our side and defending bay instead of going straight to garrison that doesnt have any TC/CD around it ? was quite stupid because we got that garrison so you start doing something in ur own BL and start pushing , but instead you went straight for us and got wiped..instead of taking the chance of us fighting TC and get garrison then push hills and kept the pressure on em , you did the total opposite , so please don’t talk like you know CD.

You hit the nail on the head. We had same experience during our timeslot. We were pushing TC the hardest and pressuring them when SOS swings by and takes our holdings from behind. We often have no choice but to swing back to defend.

Good work tracking us! On our side, we had a lot of practice keeping close while on the move, as there are always some guildies, new to WvW, will have the tendency to wonder off to hit that wurm or harvest some onions, only to get run over by a horde shortly after. They learnt quickly to stick close to the main body afterwards.

It’s thanks to magumma and SOS that we developed this new bunkering European soccer style tactic. We were swarmed by mag During NA period and SOS during oceanic/SEA for the past few months that we have no choice but learn to defend and to strike only when the opportunity strikes. Their Zerg can take down any fully fortified towers within mins using all superior seige, and the only way to counter them is to post sentries.

Odd that we are being carried by our early morning crew when just this evening during NA prime time we took over everything in Yaks borderland, and held SMC for almost the entire day. I would have sworn that it was our server working together so well that was causing us to win. But what do I know, I just happened to be a guy that was there to see it all. I’m sure your right about this.

It’s our server working well. We lost 2 strong SEA wvw guilds to TC a few weeks back and I might say that our sea/Oceanic pop is lower than NA now. But we now have pretty even distribution to defend our holdings as long as the enemies outnumbers us not by too much. We prob got ahead with good defending and strike when opportunities presents itself. Later in the week, our slow climb from 3rd to 2rd probably caught the interest of the rest of the server and they came to help to push us to the first place.

We never had complaints of seige sabotage of another server as long as I can recall. This is the first time we have been accused of that. There can be many other reasons why this can happen. Maybe some server/guild u have offended in the past is trolling you, where ever you are going, or it can just be a server terrorist that randomly hop around creating trouble. If you notice from past threads, CD almost never post complaints of other servers exploiting, hacking etc because we feel that it is counterproductive to our forum discussion, even if we do frequently come across them. But that doesn’t mean that our server is a punching bag for all that is wrong.

We CD, are already being QQ on every week matchup for “nightcapping”. Imagine the effect of another large sea guild. We will hear no end to all the moanings and grumblings our opponents. I heard a lot of Singaporeans joined SOS during launch. You guys by chance singaporeans too?

We do however need more NA pressence to take some weight off our overworked NA guilds. Any NA guilds interested to join us? Minimal queues during NA timing and strong community bonding (especially after the paid transfer saga).

If you are playing to get the most points possible, then attacking the easiest target is the best course of action. If you assume that people are playing for fun only, then it doesn’t really matter what the kitten you do as long as you are having fun doing it. So why did you suggest CD and SBI team up on Mag? Was it because it would get us more points, or did you just think it would be more fun for us?

Actually, the decision to attack SBI or Mag is pretty random during sea timings. Sunday we were attacking SBI borderland. Monday Mag borderland. Yesterday SBI EB. It really depend on our “holy dice” for the day and which area it tells us to attack for the night.

I doubt KoME really have a heavy presence that morning. It was not the guild official zerg day and we were having a costume race around Divinity Reach during that timing and the winner of the race, Silent Bakyuya, walked away with a set of rare minis. We spent the rest of the evening, shooting firewalks, brawling and drinking around Divinity Reach.

But good job Mag, for taking our garrison. We do still have lots to improve in our WvW. Congrats!

Oh, That could be true. Many of the players u mentioned are probably camping JP at another server now. Nowadays, we camp JP only when one particular guild or server kitten us off too much, and we haul in our entire guild to wipe that faction. Otherwise, we just chat with our friendly opponents while waiting for our mesmer to beam us up.

What a joke – We tear CD and SBI apart all weekend and lose 10to15k/night on the weekdays.

Spawn camping sucks, but so does getting night capped. Yaks gets the points now – only to lose the ‘lead’ during the week. We deal with ur night caps – you can deal with our point gain.

Yep and that’s what happens.
People like ME drop 36+ hours on the weekend to get a massive point lead because WE HAVE TO. Where as – CD can log in at 2am my time – get a 600+ point lead with little opposition during the week to come back for the win.

ALSO – those who take the map at 2 am, can log off at 6am and leave 60-70 people across all map to maintain score lead against the smaller Asian population SBI and YB. Where as both YB and SBI needs to stay logged in USPrimetimes to keep the points up.

Its annoying is all.

Do you know that during the paid transfer crisis, people is saying that CD is going the way of IOJ and HOD? FJ is shouting with glee that their mortal enemy is dropping to tier 8 at last! Seems like we have stabilize on tier 4 within 2 weeks, which is remarkable given the past history of servers that has fallen from grace.

I think what makes the difference are the leaders who stayed and morale. During the dark times, the leaders of major WvW guilds who decided to stay, banded together and tried to create an uplifting environment. The trashing by kaineng should have broken our spirits by than, especially during the last days of paid transfer, but it did not. We came to appreciate the guilds who stayed and creates a much stronger bond. Thanks to the fortitude, pride and humor that we have shown, we have attracted many CD players who are left behind by their guilds and manage to convert many PvE players to our cause.

Due to the mass exodus of the NA guilds from CD, many Oceanics players also started to login during NA timing to bloster our defense against Yaks. We also get to know our NA people much better and created a better synergy between our two timeslots. Previously, the NA side seldom talk to our oceanic side and generally do our own things. The crisis has brought us closer. We know we can rely on our NA crew to defend our holdings and won’t hesitate to leave behind fully upgraded towers and sieges for them to take over.

The CD that you see today, with it’s capability in both oceanic and NA timing, is no accident. We are proud of our server not because we are in winning or is advancing in tiers. We are proud because we have defied the predictions of our naysayers, survived our fall from grace and created a better server cohesion.

So for those who are irritated by our “night” (day for us) capping, go ahead and kitten us. To us, it is compliments to our ears because we managed to keep our guilds together, through thick and thin, to have the population to even manage to night cap you guys.

To SBI, I can feel your pain. But if we can pull ourselves together, so can you!

Most of the trolls have left the 3 servers. Trolls normally can’t handles losses, which is why they troll in the first place. So most of them have left for “better” server because they think they are too good for “dead” servers like us. Those who stayed ate generally more matured players who understands that you can’t win all the time in life, and there is always something to be learnt and improve.

My guild unoffiially calling this tier the blue-black tier. Being smack blue black down the tiers and faced rolled by upcoming servers.

If anybody likes some forum drama, just visit the tier 3 thread. We have the king of forum server magooomma and drama queen kaineng. Too bad FJ moved up a tier or we will have the holy trinity of forum trolling each other out. Right now, t3 thread even have two separate threads, after being locked out of the first one, just to show how drama they are. They are pretty entertaining to watch!

I like our t4 thread as it is. Respectful and encouraging. Might be a tad boring but I think we are all too bruised and bloodied from the paid transfer saga that a bit of peace and harmony is actually pretty welcoming! And yes! We are actually having fun after being sprawl camped for weeks! Keep the trolls away!

The defense of the crystal desert eb keep was epic. We were surrounded by Yaks and SBI who were racing to see who can wipe us off the face of EB first. We were literally hanging by the skin of our neck. Thanks to yaks and sbi who pushed us hard! Our commanders have to make difficult decisions during this fight. Kudos to our commanders who made the right strategic calls, though I think we can do better. Keep up the good fight CD!

Been lurking for a long time, but thought I’d chime in about the matches. My main was born on HoD near the beginning of GW2 release, and I moved to Kaineng after fighting queues for a few days.

Back in the day, W3 on Kaineng was brutal, and I loved it the whole time we were at the rock bottom of tiers. We ignored the score and played for the challenge.

I remember how we danced and cheered each time we took just 1 tower on our borderland for a little while. I remember being lucky enough to run with a couple of great leaders turning pugs into small elite strike forces that left the enemy scratching their heads about who or what we were. Most of Kaineng didn’t even know they existed. You just had to be there when they formed the party.

So times have really changed. What keeps me in this world, where queues have become commonplace, and maps are filled with immigrants (all of whome we welcome), and where one player makes little difference in the grand scheme of things? Maybe it’s that die-hard character of old Kaineng that lives on. Maybe it’s the loyalty one gets from sticking it through the times of desperation. Maybe it’s pride developed from countless little victories I always consider worth more than a number on a score, or the blood bond shared with the troops each time we were wiped to spawn. I believe these same things are felt by my enemies and their worlds.

And so my fate follows this world through rise or fall. It doesn’t matter. Either way I will find the battle lines. I will salute the brave ones who crash into us and fall, as I will push myself across the edge and fall a thousand times, only to return for more.

I agree with you. Last night (oceanic) we were desperately trying to defend crag and managed to held it till the walls got upgraded. We were whooping when that happened. One of my commanders said, to quote her," Somehow, trying to defend that 45 points is more satisfying and fun than all the stomping we did when we were strong." Some of the KoMies were saying that this is what WvW should be about. Working together to perform a difficult task. People from different guilds were shouting at each other," I love you guys!" I never had that kind of feeling when we were in higher tiers.

For the first time in this match-up, we can take a well deserved break, in the middle of a battle, without being run over by the Kaineng Zerg.

This entire topic has gotten old. And its sad to see (not all) but enough CD players griping here about the zergs and play style of Kain, or how shocked transfer players will be when Kain starts losing and realize we are trapped on a dead server.

Well, I originally came from IOJ and even spent a couple weeks on CD…..

And lets just say….CD players have been seen putting rams on walls and pvp-dooring(alot), karma farming for hours in front of SMC with NO purpose of taking it, I’ve seen them kill the grub while durios was taken by and enemy 10 man behind us or “fill in the blank”. Point being, every server has that aspect. Also when CD was playing against IOJ, I remember the final week where 25+ man zergs spawn camped us for HOURS, with siege.

Think we liked that? No.

Did IOJ come to the forums as you have? NO.

We all made personal decisions and choices and some of us have moved on to brighter pastures(Kain/FA/TC/ETC) in hopes of better more exiting wvw, because that is what the game is for us.

And now due to the recent influx of talent and guilds to Kain, we find ourselves fighting shoulder to shoulder with those that might have been some of the players above that I mentioned. Learn to respect players as people and deal with their choices. No one in this thread is warning us or telling us on Kain, anything that we don’t know or not aware of. We have MANY talented commanders and soldiers!

We learn together, grow together and play as a dedicated server….

Because when it’s all said and done, after the 28th…..

Hey, to be fair, that is quite a number of post which credits KN for their tactics and field craft. You have to understand that there are some of us that are still in a state of shock from stomping everyone to be wiped from our map in a span of 1 week. I login to see some of the CD players wondering aimlessly in LA moaning “brainnnssssss”. Even our best army shrink could not coax them out of the risen state. Give us some time. love and care like how u would treat a patient who just saw his entire family perish in a car crash. Let some of us vent our frustration and you can go away smiling, knowing that you have saved our sanity by letting us qq a bit.

Evaluation of Kaineng

1) Fast Response time
This could be attributed that they have no other distraction after they have taken the entire 4 maps. However, on a smaller context, they are quick to set up counter siege and able to build it up within a few minutes we set up ours. Their coordinated fast build up of siege weapons never cease to amaze me. It seems that every KN always have supplies at all times

2) Superior Elite Strike Force

We learn a lot of new tricks from WM and MEOW. Like stacking in a Mesmer and Guardian shield during a zerg battle. Took the effort to hide after flipping camps rather than charging on to flip the next camp, systematically wiping out defenders who attempts to take back the camps who trickle in. When reported that the strike force has left and a few players proceed to try to flip the camps back again, the strike force rush out from their hiding spot and wipe these flippers. This allows them to hold a supply camp for a long time, unless a huge team comes to take them out. This will however sap the resources and serve as a distraction from the main battle. The strike force can also sneak away once they see a much bigger zerg coming to take them out since they are in the hiding.

3) Conversions of new transfer

However, we do not see this kind of coordination among the newly transferred guilds and their strategies still relies on pure brute force rather than efficiency. They tend to run in groups charging head on into fights rather than the strategic strike coordinated by the well known elite guilds in KN. This could be a weakness of KN. Hitting the objectives of these relatively less trained guilds and avoiding the elite guilds may be an easier way to score points, rather than always trying to ram our heads against the wall. Classifying the potency of various guilds in KN may help in finding where their weak kitten in defence is in. Take note, higher tiers servers

Conclusion:

Overall, fighting in much lesser numbers is an eye opener for many commanders in CD and we are learning how to improve the output/player as each resource counts. Now, I have began to understand why WM left for a lesser server to train and be less reliant on brute force. However, quantity have a quality of its own and in the face of huge battles, personal skills and small group coordination doesn’t matter too much, as CD is still able to take on the elite guilds in big battles. As the saying goes, it is the small details that will change the tide of war and it is time for the CD to learn about these, which we could never have learnt in a huge zerg context. Personally, I learnt much more about the many intricacy of WvW during the last 24 hours than the Zerg fast we used to employ when we have the numbers.

We CD players will strive to fight on and hope to learn all the tricks and lessons that you can teach us. We may not have the coverage now to take back our homeland, but rest assured, when we want to fight, you will have a real fight in your hands.
