Why do you make a 100% unbreakable command available to mesmers in WvW?
No other class can do this.
It lasts 10s. That’s way too long.

We need less NA players and more oceanic. I say less NA because we don’t want to be in tier 2 or 3. But if we’re going to be in t3 and have a chance to hold anything, we’ll need those oceanic players. Otherwise people give up. It’s not fun for me, despite the majority nobody-cares attitude people portray.

I mean, we’re failing on breakouts. That’s how bad it is. Next time I see a t2 team come down a tier I’ll know not to bother playing. Right now WvW = bank/repairs/crafting/maybe the forge. There’s probably some conspiracy theory where we’re trying to get the pugs to leave the server, too. You know, those names you’ve never heard of that are actually trying, and you’re being callous towards. GG

It’s the least played because people leave the map immediately when it pops, unless they’re knockback/pull spec.

I’ve had more fun on the toilet.

No one is going to spend 10 mins fighting regular event bosses, and failing the higher level ones over and over.

What to expect during oceanic times:

JQ roamers in perplexity runes.
JQ roamers spamming laugh emotes.
JQ roamers sitting in every single camp, tower, keep waiting forever. LOL

SoS trying ever-so-hard to 2v1 against mag, and still losing everything they take to JQ anyway.

Mag roaming in solo. OMG UNHEARD OF!

Thanks for making this a thing. Screwed entire team. If I get the debuff I don’t even care. This is just plain kittened. My goal was to fake out the opposite team by running around with staff on first. I barely even play this game anymore, let alone spvp.

Stone Heart is terrible, just like Diamond Skin. Thieves still own you with stone heart on. Stone Heart doesn’t adhere to the increased buff duration from lingering elements and elemental attunement. There are no good weapons to sit in earth attunement with, except maybe s/f because at least the focus has buffs that linger on attunement change. Diamond Skin is way better, but still bad because it is a counter to openers only. You have to fight back up to top up hp all the time to make use of it. Specing 30 in Earth is crap unless you plan on playing burn duration or something like that, that probably doesn’t kill anyone at all. I hate this game.

Greed wars is risky, but no one can see your damage or loot bags, so who cares!

I often run backwards away from pushes to loot before the end of a fight. This doesn’t make for good pvp, and it’d be nice if we didn’t have to click anything to take the bags. Maybe just walk within 5 yards of them or something to autoloot until full.

Do not limit a perfectly designed griefing system in a pvp environment. It is one of the highlights of the game. Anet needs to crackdown on fixing the numerous exploits people are using and patch more frequently.

Hot-join is more entertaining than this.

It’s an extra stab+regen+vigor cantrip, that’s it. The knockback is terrible. Don’t even try to use this without the cantrip cleanse setup. Perhaps it’s an extra blind, but good luck hitting anything.

Unplugging modem, and renewing ip from cmd line do not work for me.
Guesting to lower pop servers unsticks my characters, but I am never able to enter Eternal Battleground, which sucks, as I mainly play this game for WvW.

Be honest, is mag a blob server or is dh just a wimp server?

Elementalists now summon tornadoes on critical hit.

Thieves have 2 cheese things: Perma-stealth, and backstab burst.
Warriors have a billion cheese things.

Elementalist teleport: horrible.

Who even uses this?
It can’t port you up onto things.
The range is 900.
Best case scenario: teleport churning earth.
2nd best use: Heal on cantrips.
Using it to move faster is not worth it at all.
If you want speed use glyph of elemental harmony (healing skill) while in Air attunement. Runes for increased swiftness duration. And dagger off-hand.

I think the range should be increased to 1200, and that we should be able to port at least 45 degrees up onto things.

Trying to cleanse so hard on my charr:

Common themes:
Anyone who spams the chat 5+ times in a row with the same message.
Anyone who complains about being beaten while out-manned. Not talking about the team having more people. Just losing to 2v1 or so.

Peeves:
People who leave skyhammer within 10s of it starting makes me unhappy, as it is already quite annoying to play.
People who tell me they’re spectating me to learn about the class and I end up playing horribly after.

Choosing not to play WvW is the most logical thing one can do right now.

The elementalist is a PVE class.
The devs want you to use a staff in WvW.
The devs look at s/d burst in tpvp and think we’re fine.

S/D = spam everything to get someone to down state. Then try to finish them off or run away while someone else does.
S/D = die in 1 auto-attack from anything because you have 11k health and 900 toughness.

D/D = spam everything. Try to cleanse. Try to cleanse. Try to cleanse. Try to cleanse. Try to run. TRY TO RUN. Release.

Staff = Try to hide. AoE. Try to run. Release.

Guardian Judge’s Intervention = Teleport and still a stun breaker. 1200 range. Applies burning. kitten cd. (can be reduce with a 10 point trait to 36s).
Mesmer’s Blink = Teleport and still a stub breaker. 1200 range with trait. Doesn’t put you in combat. 30s cd. (can be reduce to 24s with a 10 point trait.)
If you’re going to take stun break off of Lightning Flash, take it off those. 900 range, and cures a condition with trait, and/or vigor/regen with trait. Both of these traits lock you into a bunker build. 40s cd. (can be reduce to 32s via a 20 point trait, which a lot don’t take unless they’re running 30 water, because we lose regen/vigor and/or a cleanse. Bunker is commonly either 20-30 water. Some might even do 10-15 water).

I personally (with 20 water) usually take regen/vigor over reduced cantrip timers, because the timer is not a big difference. You might think you get more cantrips used this way, but more dodge and healing is far better. I run dodge from this, from 20 point trait in arcana, and energy on weapon sigil, so that I can get the most out of evasive arcana. It’s when you start getting CC spammed by necro that you start to hate your life. And the 8+s of immobilize that prevents all dodging. If your cantrips are down, and you lack ether renewal, you’re boned. You can maybe remove it while attuning to water. This is the time when you’re being chased by a zerg and die. This is why 20 in earth is so great over 30 water, because you can summon fiery greatsword while switching to earth for stability on earth attunement, and sail away. Hopefully not getting boon stripped and immobilized again in the process. Also, with the might stacking we can put out in d/d, it boosts the condition damage we get from having 20 earth. I use celestial trinkets which boosts it again. It’s hard to guage if I do more damage with 10 in air, because I’m running knights with heal on crit food. My main goal is I want to roam and win 1v1s/ clear camps easily/ out-pace group vs me. This is not asking too much, because obviously we, and other classes do this already. This class is about making choices based on survivability vs most classes, and right now that is cleanse first, stability second, mobility third.

P.S. It’s very disrespectful when you don’t play the class this forum is designated to, and come in here and tell people to “stop crying”. If you review several of the last patches you will see the devs have continually made changes to pretty conjury weapons, and not addressed anything the players were talking about. One with Air is a joke of a talent. It does absolutely nothing.

What is an Elementalist supposed to do in solo queue (ranked).

We can’t hold points. We can’t get bunkers off points.
Spirit ranger: WTF. This is the cheesiest kitten ever.
Necro + anything else: Time to run away.

I’m full bunker, d/d, 0/0/10/30/30. Earth runes, restoration/energy sigils. PVT ammy/jewel. I spend most of the time dodge rolling in water to clear all the conditions.

WTF are we supposed to do in this game? It’s so hard to get wins. I’m the focus a lot because of my easy-kill class. I do not want to play some easier-to-die s/d spec, nor a slow-kitten staff spec that pretty much just does cc. I do not want to play support. Why is spvp such a hunk of dog dung compared to WvW for eles? I solo with the utmost ease in WvW. In spvp, I’m like the noob that picked the wrong class that was nerfed beyond all enjoyment.

UMAD BRO? Yes. This is stupid.

I can’t think of any abuse. They already gimped AoE. A necro is the best ranged AoE now. All eles are in PVT, or any combination with Toughness on it and can’t run around in bursty staff builds.

Here’s the main reasons I want to swap:
1. Attacking tower siege, then defenders jump down to attack. Switch to D/D so I can’t actually do something.
2. Defend myself in the jumping puzzle.
3. Heal people.
4. Water slow.
5. Air Stun.

This is the only thing I want to do with a focus:
1. Block siege shots on walls and our team’s siege.

These are some awesome combos you could do with staff swapping:
1. Air 5 stun and combo field. OP? No. Other classes can already do this with utilities and regular weapon skills.
2. Fire: Lava font, meteor shower. Both are the best damage spells an elementalist has. Only thing comparable is dragon’s tooth with scepter (easily avoidable), and churning earth (dagger off-hand), which you need to teleport onto people most of the time.
3. Earth skills? No. They are all mediocre because they’re based on condition damage, and you have to be in a knowledgeable group to know how to combo off of anything. The cripple is useful sometimes. The best use is killing a buffed supervisor, and building might stacks.
4. Water has combo fields, with AoE healing comparable to guardians. As with dagger, it applies vulnerability, but it’s easier to apply with the dagger.

I would be happen with out-of-combat swap, too. So i can always use the items I want instead of searching for them. But that’s been said a billion times on these forums. For some reason they won’t do it. It’s code that is already available for other classes. Just change the parameters.

I personally enjoy watching solo and team spvp, wvw, and gvg matches in this game, just as I enjoyed watching them in WoW when I played that. I sometimes still watch WoW pvp videos. Like with WoW arenas, tpvp are asides from the MMO itself that don’t interact, other than entering from the MMO world, so I don’t see what your point is here. The game as a whole is not an esport. The pvp in it is going that direction, because people are getting better and better. There are talented guilds that get high views whenever they play. People want to beat them. They want to be the best and have everyone know, so that they keep getting challenged. That’s fun. That entices players to this game. That’s what we all want.

So now we get op thieves that play without pieces of armor on to show how they can win with 1 button.

When are they going to nerf that stupid class already? I left the match immediately when I saw that trash.

Engineer grappling hooks! counter: unhinge
Rope ladders! counter: fire
Repair own siege.
Trebs never despawn unless the owner logs off/ switches maps.
Remove terrain blocking camera when operating siege. ie. Get rid of camera shake when you build a treb beside something and try to look around it.
Increase range of use on trebs similar to that of ballistas currently.
Fix lag issues when sieging SM inner. Dropping settings to Best Performance doesn’t help enough.
Fix wall jumping. Some older ones have been fixed, but not all.

This game is boring 90% of the time because the enemy plays 2 ways: sit inside a structure and spam siege, or wait until off-hours to ktrain 10 players.

So they had all of eternal, all of FA bl, all of their own map, and only 8 uplevels were on our map flipping camps while the 8 of us on our map at that time were just allowing it so we could make some karma off of taking them back. Then they failed to take SE tower because they’re upleveled. This went on for 4 hours. They had the gate and wall at 10% at one point when I finally spoke in team chat that the walls needed repairs. We amassed 12 players from somewhere. (They were probably farming kraits out of boredom at the time.) This went on for so long that FA finally logged back in and started taking all of their stuff back. Hmm, they allowed their stuff to be taken so they could level alts. They’ve already said they were playing alts this week. When someone in guild asked if anyone wanted to do Fractals, I jumped at the opportunity to leave that snorefest. This tier is a joke to gaming everywhere.

Other classes combo across 1 weapon swap. We combo across 4 attunements. You can read up on them on the wiki.

Armor of earth will prevent interrupt on churning earth. Channeling it farther away from the person can sometimes cause them to backpedal out of it, at which point you lightning flash it on top of them.

A nice cheese move in Skyhammer as D/D is updraft off a point onto the breakable glass, then earth 3 immobilize, earthquake. This usually kills them as they can’t get off it in time without an instant cleanse/immunity proc.

Everything is about positioning and cd management. This includes procs from traits, too. There’s no need to use water when you have 90% health and no conditions on you. There’s no need to use churning earth if there’s no fire field down, or the enemy isn’t already cc’d/downed. Another good time to use churning is porting it onto people from LoS (it can miss, but when it doesn’t: bammmmmmmmmm!)

There’s times when you’re just spamming an auto-cast because everything’s on CD and you can’t switch attunements. Weapon swap would solve that. I mean, you have to end in fire or air spec every time (especially air if you’re kiting), or you’re sitting in a trash damage spec until attunements come back up, even with an arcana spec.

I don’t think I need to do a write up. The screenshot pretty much sums up the thief class and how OP they are:

The stacks go up forever until someone is downed, at which time if you try to rez someone, you insta pop. I’ve seen 40 stacks on someone. And getting 15 stacks on you isn’t difficult because there is no red circle, just a minor animation of burning that doesn’t occupy the actual radius of the shot. The duration of each shell is 15s, meaning the stacks are constantly going up on everything in a 400 radius (while the mortar is still firing at one location), which is huge if it’s going into a tower. 4s of burn per stack at 15s duration per mortar.

It’s basically this: by the time you cleanse the first obnoxious stack, the mortar will land again. You will notice this as a problem if you ever attack an inner tower in EBG where multiple mortars are landing inside the tower and mass stacking a very enclosed area.

Don’t stand in the fire doesn’t really apply when there’s so much incoming fire and masses of people moving around in it.

Reduce the maximum stacks and the duration of each stack.

IMO, this is how we want to play:

In order of enjoyment

WvW: D/D, then Staff, then S/D, then S/F.
Spvp: D/D, S/D, Staff, S/F
PVE: Staff, S/D, D/D, S/F

Right now I’m playing D/D in WvW and Spvp still. WvW = full celestial + perplexity, knights weapons. In spvp: full soldiers with grove runes. Both are 0/0/10/30/30. Ether Renewal, CFlame, Mist Form, LFlash for both. Only use armor of earth for special situations where I need the stab. I have a secondary knights set with travelers. I carry 3 daggers, a staff, a scepter, and a focus at all times. I use: FGS, then greater elem, then tornado (staff, or extra stab, or knockback). I solo roam at least 75% of the time I play.

Most of the patch listed above is meaningless to me. It will not alter my playstyle at all. I really don’t know why anet is making changes to things nobody wants to use in pvp at all. I see maybe 1 ele in 100 matches that has a frostbow in use. I see very few eles in spvp overall. If I want to play fresh air, or fire line, I have to hide behind other people with staff or s/d as glass for it to be worthwhile.

This is happening on Maguuma right now. Random people stop seeing the siege like cannons, oil, mortar, then the skillbar disappears, then you are instantly killed while standing still. Nothing in log. Ballistas nowhere to hit you from. It’s as though someone is going into your character and executing a death command. (In LPC this was the shrink command, followed by blick. It's all too familiar.)

We make fun of our own karma trainers, too.

Top 3 reasons to join Maguuma:

1. We have guilds that do everything from solo-five man roaming, scout, people who will actually defend and enjoy doing it, karma trainers, gvgers, NA players that will stay up to Oceanic time to help grind out that PPT.
2. No queues in Oceanic/ Sea.
3. Still better than Lil Wayne. But on a more srs bsns note: We have a great community, with open communication amongst everyone on the server.

Our NA is try-harding right now to get out of this crumby tier (playing long hours). As you can see, the other teams pretty much give up playing unless they can queue a map. This is Maguuma’s first ever fund-raiser to finally give us that night-cap safety buffer that we’ve never had.

Roaming, however, isn’t fun anymore. As someone who only plays Ele, what I’m usually fighting are thieves, mesmers, and druids. I can’t catch up to any of these, and I don’t want to considering how many escapes I lose trying to do it. Condition damage is way off the scale with massive bursts from corruption, traps, and rapid stacking. After HoT release my WvW activity is probably 1/3 of what it used to be, with half of the time being afk. I’m not going to be some slow-poke healer for a blob because anet doesn’t know how to develop my class.

I’d also like to add that I am randomly seeing enemy locations on the mini-map after way-pointing to a keep. This started since yesterday.
