A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Just remove stats on equip….
Ascended should have swappable stats considering how grindy it is.
I can say this:
Changing functionality of a GRINDY equipment already obtained by players is total disrespect towards players and totally unprofessional.
At least if there is not balancing reasons that clearly are not celestial case being Underpowered.
We are still treated as test servers for china launch
I don’t think even Arena Net knows where this game is heading.
Don’t feel like reading? Here’s the summary:
FEROCITY INHIBITS BUILD DIVERSITY
Again, now that it is confirmed that obviously ANet refused to pay heed to this topic earlier, I’m re-raising it from the dead in hopes to spur more discussion before implementation or to note necessary reworks.
The bottom line is that this change reduces critical damage. Okay, working as intended, right? Absolutely not the case. This change is designed to affect berserker builds such that their overall effectiveness in PvE is toned down slightly. Okay, that’s fine. But the real problem is that precision builds are not compensated in any way for this, because 10% damage overall includes damage dealt by non-critical strikes, thus meaning the penalty on critical strike damage is going to increase by a significantly larger margin.
What does this mean? It means the value of precision even further decreases. Precision-oriented builds are established to get high critical chance to bolster DPS against low-toughness foes. That said, since crit damage is multiplicative on power, precision-based builds already deal less overall damage output than power/berserker based builds. When the modifier becomes reduced, all that happens is in order for players running high-crit chance builds to work as effectively as they are now, they need to build into more power at the expense of some precision. What does this mean? All precision-oriented builds must be forced into using berserker gear to retain their existing damage while losing their high crit chance.
And if celestial gear gets buffed out of this zone… does this not then encourage players running anything except berserker to run celestial because it offers the best returns? This is absolutely foolish.
Non-power based critical damage sets need to be re-evaluated. Ferocity needs to be implemented in significantly raised values in sets like Assassin’s and Valkyrie’s in order to retain their current set values (which are far out of the meta and already considered mediocre for both DPS and/or survivability) such that the only build choices beyond this point are not just berserker’s and celestial.
Bad people wearing PVT will still die. Decent players with bumrush content anyways. That doesn’t nerf zerk speedrun parties. Your point?
Similar to the magic find swaps. Select a new stat combo for free.
Some of us can’t afford to regear. I/We’ve just about finished grinding for our ascended zerker weapons/armor (in this non grindy game).
The tradeoff people based the “should I craft zerker or pvt etc” decision is not the same tradeoff any longer. Many people would not make the same decision again.

There is no crafting guide because neither cooking nor jeweler can go above level 400 yet. When they will be increased has not yet been said either.
I have been to the dredge fractal at level 38 with 3 ele, 1 mes and 1 guard. All are zerkers and hit like a truck. My LFG does require zerker only, but never asks specifically for any heavy.
That said, in my good time, I join any casual groups to have some no-stress run.
I was kicked from a Cof 1 run as a Guardian. The party consisted of a Warrior, Necro, and Ranger, so its not like they were going for a speed run (back when this was something you could tell from this party comp). They just told me “no guardians” and that was it. No gear ping (which I still haven’t seen), no weapon checks, just the boot.
That being said, I’ve brought my ranger (built for wvw, longbow/sword + axe), my carrion/settler thief, and whatever else I’ve made through plenty of dungeons. Usually I fish around for groups that seem to have good descriptions, but if I don’t find any, I can always make my own group. If you’re capable as a player, there’s no reason you should be getting too many boots, regardless of what you bring. Then again, don’t try joining groups who you aren’t compatable with. Don’t join full zerker if you aren’t full zerker. There should be plenty of groups who just won’t have any description past the path #.
Furthermore, if and only if, you’re in a compatable group, try starting the dungeon. If the party kicks you, they’ll all be booted out too. I wouldn’t really recommend trying to go out and do this, but its nice to know if you’re group suddenly becomes caustic.
It’s not that you aren’t heavy. It’s that you are a ranger. The class played by generally bad players overall. Doesn’t matter if you are the best ranger in the world. Faster to just dump you and not take the chance. You can be a mesmer if you want. Or an elementalist. You don’t have to be a Warrior/Guardian.
+1 Asmodeus
I have the most terrible ranger ever (full zerk, half rares sb/lb and idgaf couse i only use it to farm)
I make my own parties.
Post something like this: lvl 11 FotM – No flamers/ragers/tryhards, just have fun.
It always works for me, so far i never not finished my daily fotm becouse guess wat, i can actualy use my character and realised that there is a “dodge” feature in this game. So do the players that join u, they take their time to learn to play and don’t mind taking a few extra minutes to enjoy the content.
Honestly, u should avoid the “all heavy zerker” parties like the plague, those are 99.99% of the time players that only know “kitten kitten stack zerg, kitten kitten zerg ress”. (they are the reason why Marionette fails so much, they have yet to figure out how to actualy play this game)
You sound very silly, you can make your own grp and pple will join you, this post is silly, im sorry you feel like you being kicked, but truth is you need to make your own group. If your op on a ranger, it will not matter, Make your own grp brother.
It’s terrible… just uninstall.
Trash mobs rarely give any good loot, it’s better to run past them. Some endlessly respawn but I think that’s fractals.. not dungeons.
Huh? What bug? What glitches? You played this game for few hours and hence came to this conclusion. :/
So, with the recent blog from Anet ( https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/traits-unleashed-forty-new-traits-and-more/ ) we know one grandmaster trait for each class and, arguably more importantly, that resetting traits can be done anywhere for free as long as you’re not in combat.
First, I’ll list a short synopsis of the announced traits, all of which are Grandmaster level.
Elementalist – Aquatic Benevolence: (unannounced line) 25% Healing + to other allies.
Engineer – Fortified Turrets: Inventions | 4 second reflect on turrets when placed. AoE seems approx size of Sanctuary by guardian.
Guardian – Force of Will: Honor | +300 vitality.
Necromancer – Unholy Sanctuary: Death Magic – Separate “boon” that functions exactly the same as Regeneration.
Mesmer – Power Block: Domination | Interrupted skills with cooldowns are placed on a 10s cooldown (up from 5s).
Ranger – Read the Wind: Marksmanship | Longbow arrows move twice as fast.
Thief – Invigorating Precision: Critical Strikes | 5% of damage from crits is returned as healing to you.
Warrior – Dual-Wield Agility: Arms – 10% increased attack speed when wielding offhand axe, mace, sword.
Honestly, it seems the only announced trait that may show any use in dungeons is the Warrior one, if it can bring axe autoattack damage high enough to warrant the extra 5 in Arms.
More importantly, in my opinion, is the fact that you can change traits on the go, seemingly in dungeons. That means if you have an engineer running their grenade build and for a specific fight you need reflects more than you need vulnerability, they can pop 30 points into inventions on the run and swap to a few turrets. Bad example, I know, but I think this will have some impact on how dungeons are done, especially at the higher end.
Yeah, the traits announced so far seem pretty underwhelming. The good thing is that it’s just a preview and (hopefully) the unannounced traits are a little more useful/build changing.
So non ele/engi’s get up to four sigils? You are forgetting the part where ele’s and engis get 4 weapon sets whereas everyone else only get’s 2.

And what about celestial ? MF dissapeared and critital take a lot harder hit than on zerker gear…
And it will get a +6% increase of all other stats to compensate.
That is more than enough.
@Slowpoke – This is about crit damage, not chance…?

I would have been much happier if the loss of such a major city had a bigger impact. Like a scattering of services. The dungeon vendors all get spread out to their relevant dungeons, the portals go to Vigil, which makes sense, but the forge goes to the Priory. While the Consortium moves to the beach outside the Whispers. The only place to find bank, black lion and crafting now being the other cities. Forcing people to spread out much much more to feel the actual bite of the lose of convenience that LA was.
I didn’t know dungeons need a tank. #LearnNewThingsEveryDay
I dislike the trinity and very much like what anet has done to keep it out of their game. I like that I have options with each class. I’m glad that my guardian can be a DPS truck and a cleric (not that I would ever do that because why?) but I’m happy to have the option.
Playing how anyone wants is awesome. I’m sorry that without the trinity, however, you are not playing how you want. But trinity games are a dime a dozen, but there aren’t many like guild wars 2. And that’s nice.
I feel like traits come too slowly with the new system. Starting at 30 and needing to reach 80 for full potential is kinda tedious.
Wouldn’t it be better if it started at level 10 and ended up at level 60?
You need to consider, long term, that there will be many new skills and traits you unlock by doing stuff around the world, meaning 60-80 already has a ton of unlocking and progress options.
Note that I’m speaking about trait tier unlocking, you should get trait points from 10 to 80 (with the new system 30 to 80). With the new system Grandmaster is locked until level 80, unlike the current system where it unlocks at 60.
To those that say the sylvari are good for nothing I say you’re wrong, their leaves make excellent toilet paper.
HAHAHAHA! I KNEW IT! SHE’S ALIVE! SHE’S ALIVE!

Everything is going as expected.
Kinda like the whole GW2 franchise. Art mirrors life.

LOL random censoring.
Sylvari characters get an even more personal confession. I quite enjoyed that one.
It’s hardly unreasonable to expect Lion’s Arch event items to still be valid throughout the whole of the Lion’s Arch event – of which we are in the Aftermath stage. It’s only the logical time for players to think “Great, events over, time to cash in my chips” …except we can’t. =/
The fact that there’s not even anything else happening in the Living World right now makes it especially irritating. I’d understand if they wanted us to put Lion’s Arch behind us and focus on a new event with new vendors and rewards, but that isn’t the case.
But they shouldn’t be removed so soon in the first place, because as we can see from the amount of posts and grieviance in this threads ppl just assumed vendor will be still around to cash in leftovers after event stops. It’s not the question about was the anouncement easy to find or not; it’s that a lot of ppl havent considered that they would need to look for/ask if they would be able to sell found belongings right after event. They took it for granted that vendors would still be around for some time. And a lot of players just don’t visit the forums to every game they play, so they would stumble upon the post, just casually log in from time to time and play.
And i doubt that implementing vendors back would cause so much trouble and create many bugs.
Hopefully never.
First, never gonna happen. Second, why are you calling his champions dragoons? That’s a type of cavalry.
