When all the Elder Dragons are dead, 1/2 the magic will be consumed by Aurene and the other 1/2 will be consumed by another egg that houses Tequatil’s legacy. The commander now takes on the role of a concerned parent whose young adult daughter, being formerly obedient and good natured, is now coying over the new bad boy in town. You yell at Aurene, scolding her for considering companionship with such rebellious youth over the nice and hard working jungle wurm next door you’ve been trying to hook her up with since her junior year in high school.
Alas, your attempts only push her further away from you and closer to her new boyfriend. She leaves home without notice and travels across the content with Teq. Jr. with nothing but a run down dragon truck and the young ley energy coursing through their… whatevers.
Several years go by and you wave your fist in anger as that jungle wurm from earlier graduates to become a successful consortium ambassador for the Caledon Forest region while that drop out Teq. Jr. seriously thinks he can support Aurene and their two kids (they’re not even married!) with a tattoo parlor he started in the new norn settlements in The Far Shiverpeaks.
The Wintersday that year is awkward, as you agreed to have it at their place, the first time you’ve seen Aurene since that day she walked out. You’re initially disgusted at run down property, the budget food being served for dinner, and the fact that your grand kids only got refurbished Ventari plushies for gifts. You think to yourself, “How can Aurene possibly be happy with this!? She was raised in a city made out of kittening gold!”
After dinner, Aurene asks if she can talk to you while Teq. Jr. plays with the kids. “Look, I know this isn’t what you were expecting I would be at when you pampered me in Tarir all those years,” she says in a slightly guilt ridden tone. “You were expecting me to grow up to be some sort of savior of Tyria that the entire world looks up to and will remember for eternity. That I would live up to and surpass the expectations my biological mother set before me, but this just feels so right.” She turns away to face the living room where Teq. Jr. and the kids are laughing and playing, “I know this doesn’t look perfect to you and definitely not to those stuck up exalted, but I am genuinely happy here.”
Swallowing your pride, you begin to understand. All those years you thought you we’re training Aurene to be Tyria’s hope, to make a peaceful golden age in one fell swoop. Instead she only came to better understand the precious value of everyday life, warts and all, and dreamed of being able to being joy one step at a time to others and herself. To be one of many of us who watch out for each other as a community and as a family. You cannot speak a single word with out struggling to hold back tears, but you don’t have to, because Aurene can read your mind. You both simply walk out to the living room to join the rest of the family, with you as now a better more understanding person.
Yo Anet, this one’s on me, but let me know if you want to hire me for future LS.

). We don’t know the potential economic impacts, etc. etc. But since we lack the details to make those assessments, our words naturally come out sooner than Anet’s.
