This is terrible, stop complaining and make your build able to handle conditions, if this is @ burn guards you’d be nerfing a class that has a ton of couners and if this is at ele’s tell Anet to nerf ele’s instead. Just cause you can’t find a build that handles power and condi pressure don’t make the game change.

So gg to condi engi, condi ranger, and condi guard. Do you really not see the ramifications of this, or do you just not care about balance as long as you don’t have to run condi clear? Genuinely curious.

I play in both regions so this is my unbiased take on this matter:

top EU pvpers seem to have a stronger camaraderie and generally liked by EU players

top NA seem to be more flaky, have more drama, more emotional and limited interaction with the rest of NA players

It seems that Helseth and ROM really do have loyal following. I know Ostrich Eggs also had a following and the pugs in his team looked up to him when he solo queued. He was chatty and friendly while being extraordinary

Dude i can not tell you how crazy people got when OE was on there team. It was crazy, people would whisper me and take screen prints of OE being on there team or fighting him. Not to mention when the Abjured lost the 1st round vs the ORNG every comment to the right of the screen had some sourd of OE reference.

I think it would be great for the NA scene if he came back with a good team to compete. He definitely has alot of respect from the NA community for what ever reason.

not when ppl can apply burning twice as fast as you can cleanse it…you know unless you’re a dd ele you can’t just keep cleansing over and over again and some of those burning stacks are also instant (Aka burn guard) so you can’t even dodge…you can just cleanse until you have nothing left and then you’re dead, gg

And how often you can pull invulnerablety against direct damage? :P

you can dodge almost any high direct damage skill in the game…on the other hand how can you dodge virtue of justice or zealot’s flame? It’s like dodging incendiary powder…what are you gonna dodge exactly? Vs dps specs you already know which skills you have to mitigate…but you can’t mitigate istant and/or random stuff, expec if it’s also aoe

hope you can get the tiny little difference between those two situations

Let me educate you in the ways of burn Guardian.

Zealot’s Flame is only damaging if it hits multiple targets who stand together. It will otherwise proc F1 three times, delivering 2450 raw damage and 3500 burns in a course of 9 seconds.
Power Builds: Instant 4k – 4.7k raw damage, not counting Lightning/Fire sigil procs and other dmg modifiers.

Zealot’s Fire: Like others have stated, it’s a glow orb that can be seen for miles. Not to mention the Guardian himself will be lit with blue fire. Damage is 4376 in 4.75s
Power Builds: Instant 3k raw and a 1356 burn in 3s, not counting Lightning/Fire sigil procs and other dmg modifiers.

Judge’s Intervention: 4376 in 4.75 seconds
Purging Flames: 8751 in 8s
A single condi cleanse is a direct counter to either one. Who ever can’t condi cleanse these are just bad. The only excuse you have is if a condi guard +1’s a fight and you didn’t have any cd’s. In which case, you would have died regardless.
Power Builds: Instant 4.2k damage with Smite Condition, not counting Lightning/Fire sigil procs and other dmg modifiers. Mesmers and Thieves hate this by the way.

F1 Procs
Burn Guardian’s MAIN form of damage. We will otherwise do 1/4 the damage of Power builds. The only time Burn guards do more damage than power builds is 1) We waste 3 or 4 high cd utilities, of which, makes us very vulnerable afterwards. 2) If we cleave in group fights. Both are equally counter/negate/avoidable.

Conclusion – TL;DR
Don’t dodge F1 procs, dodge our high hit rate attacks like whirling wrath, torch#5, symbols etc and avoid standing next to your allies or minions. Save cleanses for PoF, Judges Intervention and Zealot’s Flame. Burn Guardians are easier to fight 1v1 than power builds – you should have no issues or excuses!

I am curious to the various or similar views of people.

Mesmer. Because I can mind kitten people. When I play all other professions I play toon vs toon. When I play mesmer I play against the person sitting behind the monitor on the otehr side and ignore the toon quite a lot.

When going 1 v 1 on my mesmer its like some invisible mental link gets established between me and my opponent. Its weird. I can’t really describe it, but there it is.

2nd most fun is my engi, cause I like playing him full glass condi. So I eitehr drop people extremely quick or get dropped, either way its very dynamic and fast paced. The execution of my opening rotation is what makes or breaks the fights usually.

engineer and warrior. they feel very physical and thumpy.

I prefer engineer. The class itself is definitely lower tier right now but definitely fun.

It’s good nerf but u really need to do something with ele.

those who complain about d/d godmode must be the biggest scrubs. i see d/d ele go down in teamfights all the time, ah but maybe that’s because I’m an awful person who queues on TS and focuses targets. sure it’s pretty wild in a 1v1 if the ele is skilled, but ro- ro- rotate into a 2v1 and splat him down.

the nerf is good. these sigils were hitting for far too much.

Well LOREWISE, Id have to say:

1. Humans – Human Mesmers from a lore point of view value the arts, they are very charming and also value the latest trends in fashion. Most human Mesmers, (Male or Female ) are flamboyant in appearance. They carry themselves in a very classy manner and are also known to be apart of the Human political government, and noble population within Human society. Human Mesmers, patron Goddess is Lyssa, the goddess of water and duality.

2. Sylvari – Sylvari Mesmers, may appear very mysterious, charming as well, and elegant. Sharing certain personality traits with Human Mesmers to also add. However they do not have interest within fashion from a Human frame of mind. They of course value their leafy attire, as most Sylvari do, regardless of profession. Sylvari Mesmers share similarities with other Sylvari who practice other forms of magic, so not much else to add.

3. Norn- Norn Mesmers, from what I’ve seen and read, worship Raven. Raven seems to be a patron for Norn Mesmers. I believe Norn Mesmers, are rather cunning, and secretive. However, Norn Mesmers do not have a interest for the arts, fashion, or elegance as Human Mesmers would.

4. Asura- Asuran Mesmers, do not hold any differences or similarities from other Mesmers, they see mesmeric spellcraft as another Magical art to use. To put it simply, Asuran Mesmers personality is not affected really by being a Mesmer like other races.

5. Charr- No… Charr’s dislike and do not trust magic. Even though there are some Charr who practice Magic, it seems they’d hate Mesmer magic out of all. No to Charr. No no no!

At the end of the day, I’d have to say Humans make the perfect Mesmers. They truly embrace the Mesmeric spellcraft beyond its combat capabilities. They utilize the magic within their appearance, fashion, entertainment, politics, and personality. You can usually tell when someone May be a Mesmer in Human society, by the way they carry themselves in a confident, classy, charming manner.

when i join match and i see Prince Vingador (on my side) already raged how bad is our team, before the game actually started.

I saw that Prince Vingador video posted here recently I wanna meet this guy for laughs. He’s gonna love my characters in this EU acct. All lvl 2, brown armor, annoying looking and jumps a lot.

I once had a player on my team who said someone was a noob because they were jumping around a lot, no joke.

What’s the most ridiculous reasons you’ve had for being called a noob (from either team)?

From the enemy team:
Using heartseeker+steal to finish someone off behind a wall (“omg stealth noob”, continuted to whisper me about how stealth is OP even though I didn’t use stealth)
Using trebuchet for half the match (they didn’t dodge a single shot)

From my own team:
Defending my decision not to lord rush 2 minutes into the game after losing the initial team fight (lol we need more score noob)
Stealing an enemy NPC and killing the person who attacked it, then going down from conditions (omg noob you died to npc)
Saying to regroup on home rather than suiciding 1v3 mid (omg noobs why are you all at home and I’m the only one mid)
Dying before a match starts (I was just running around)
Jumping around in the base before match starts (people who jump are always noobs)

You know your team will lose when you are 1v3 on a point, for about 3+ minutes and no one is capping the other points.

You know your team going to lose when it’s composed from the Daily * classes only with lv2 starting skins.

You know you’ve lost once I’m on your team

As soon as I see ppl in my team do that early on, it’s almost a guaranteed loss.

Why cant they realize If home point isn’t getting rushed and 2 people are on it, that means….their teammates are outnumbered elsewhere with a high probability of getting wiped….and once teammates get wiped, guess who they’re going for next. i feel

With hotjoin and unranked to practice in, I don’t understand why people that are unaware of the basic protocols queue for ranked. I know leaderboards don’t exist yada yada but there should still be higher expectations from ranked.

Pro tip: Start a party or pvp with guildies / friends.

the best part is when you realize ranked aren’t actually ranked, but are unranked ranked.

The list of things that let me know I lost a match at the start:
No one goes home
2 go home
1(zerk usually) goes far and doesn’t bail to mid when he sees its a 1v2
I’m defending 1v2 at home and we lose both other points before I go down
Allies don’t know when to res /cleave /interupt /secure stomps and I watch a fight go from 4v4 2-3 enemy down and 1 ally down to 4v3 1-2 ally down
