I can’t wait. I LIKE the fact that we don’t know what to expect. I really liked the flame and frost dungeon though, so I have hopes for this one.
Salvage 4 Profit + MF Guide – http://tinyurl.com/l8ff6pa
Hey guys I was getting ready to post some info for you, but saw this thread and thought it would be the most fitting place. I’ve been reading through the threads so far and wanted to write on a few points brought up.
Our team’s put a great deal of effort into getting this new dungeon path right, so that it is both challenging and fun. We’re comprised of folks that worked on the Aetherblade Retreat, as well as myself from Molten Facility, so we’ve been putting everything we’ve learned from the past months’ development into what we think is a pretty exciting experience.
There’s a whole lot to do in this dungeon, even after the final boss is downed. Expect some nods to the existing TA paths, as well as a few to previous Living World dungeons. You’ve probably already seen some in the screenshots & trailer released so far.
Our hope is that once you get in there, you’ll see why this is the primary thing we’ve been working on. That said, Halloween is just around the corner, and you won’t be waiting too long after Twilight Assault to see what we’ve got in store for you with this year’s Mad King shindig.

Yeah, minor forum hiccups I am all backdrop’d up and post-ready!
Looks like someone forgot Guild Wars isn’t doing monthly updates anymore. They’re every other week now.
There is absolutely going to be Halloween this year. The Mad King wouldn’t miss out on an opportunity to come back and share his latest batch of terrible jokes. And open a spot for you in his lovely tower.
With the first update for October hitting on the 1st, the next update afterward would hit with plenty of time to spare before Mad King’s day.
He needs to make sure to run as administrator.
He should run disk check on the hard drive and maybe even memtest. (For extended troubleshooting, take out 1 stick of ram, run game for test if crashing, swap ram sticks, test again and/or test a different hard drive).
May need to verify no conflicting programs. Run msconfig, disable all startup programs, restart computer, test gw2 for crashes. If no crash, a program is conflicting, time to figure out which.
This is just a start, without knowing everything about your friend’s setup.
Hope it helps. Post back and let us know how he goes.
Maybe others will post some ideas for you too.
SO MYSTERIOUS!!!
Forcing people to play with other people in an MMO is just wrong. Why is the game even online, jesus!
The infraction system is a simple system. Infractions that do not include points (known as zero-point infractions) serve as friendly reminders to follow the Code of Conduct you agreed to abide by when your account was created. Infractions with points are more serious and start a tally on your account. When that tally reaches a certain threshold of points, a suspension is given. Higher number plateaus result in suspensions of ever-increasing durations, eventually resulting in a permanent ban from the forums. With the exception of banned accounts, infraction points eventually expire.
There are a number of reasons we do not list out every detail about the infraction system we have. The main reason is that such knowledge could be used to manipulate the system. Players could abuse their fellow players for X amount of posts and then stop to wait until an infraction point on their account expired before they started in again. Using this manner, a person could avoid any real punishment.
The other reason ties into why we don’t allow discussion of moderation on the forums, even when the originating request of such a discussion is a genuine desire for knowledge. Believe it or not, some players would use it as bragging rights. Players would push the system to the edge to ensure they got to behave however they wished without facing any consequences. This simply will not be allowed to happen.
Rest assured though, it takes far more than a single minor infraction to result in a temporary suspension. It takes even more to have your forum privileges permanently revoked!
So how do you avoid getting infractions? It’s pretty simple really. Be sure to review the Code of Conduct and follow those rules. If someone violates those rules, rather than doing the same and getting yourself into trouble, simply report the post or thread in question so the Community team can investigate it.
It really is as simple as that! If you have any questions or concerns about any forum moderation action taken, please send an email to forums@arena.net.
Thanks!
The card game Magic: the Gathering was first published in 1993. People have been claiming the game is dying for 20 years. The folks at Wizards of the Coast laugh about it every time they cash their paychecks.
These threads are meaningless rumormongering.

Wake up Anet, your game is starting to die.
Unfounded claims of the game dying: Check.
Claims that GW2 isn’t as good as GW1: Check.
Its like a pattern in every kitten ‘complaint’ thread. All I’m missing is ‘whar trinity whar’.

There was no change to barrel spawn locations. I fixed a bug where Sottz would not despawn if he was ejected from a barrel but not engaged. He should now disappear about a minute after he appears (if I remember correctly).
The barrels only respawn once Sottz despawns in this manner or is defeated. This is how it’s always been.
When the storyline for Flame and Frost ends, the Flame and Frost content will go away.
Why?
No, seriously, why?
Why remove content some/many enjoy and many haven’t completed, especially forced-group content that some people will have trouble getting done in limited time?
Why?
Oh so does that mean when this content is taken away at the end of April, we won’t have seen any of the other worlds?
That is correct. World 2 has not been built yet, and won’t be started for another little while. But not a long while.
Also does this mean this content was released before it was finished? I thought with the way Anet have been doing the Living story they were not doing that any more?
SAB started as an experiment. We were going to release as much of it as we had time to work with. If it did well we’d add to it, so we left it open ended. Living World creates evolving stories that expand with time. I would say SAB is kind of the odd cousin to the other LW teams. Our releases are currently planned to be one world at a time. But we will also be going back to update the previous Worlds with new mechanics and puzzles as we develop them. As well as re-balancing and polishing. I think by the time all 4 worlds are done it will be a very amazing game.
Now we have a similar thing with the Super Adventure Box, some of the best content in GW2 so far, and I want to play more but it is not ready.
Hey, I want to play it really badly too! I’m dying to finish the next worlds.
Can I ask, are you going to bring the Box back before next April fools?
I certainly hope so. All signs currently point to yes. But of course, no promises.
The event consists of :
- Decorated LA, heart of the mists and WvW ( partially )
- Snowball fights
- Bell choir minigame
- Wintersday Wonderland JP
- Snowball Mayhem minigame
- Festivity-related items and recipes obtained through basically everything
^^^^^ NO DUNGEONS UP HERE ^^^^^
- A dungeon
So we have 80% of the event pretty much soloable and just a single dungeon ( altough it’s the only way to get the mini pets ) which is easy and if not soloable, almost. I don’t see the reasoning behind your complaint, especially in an MMO.

Plinx is not a What, is a Who. There’s an NPC in Cursed Shore called Plinx.
Hey everyone. Thanks for your feedback and we all greatly appreciate this constructive criticism as you deal with these frustrations.
To respond to this I can say that, yes, we’re aware of the general issues that have been reported with many Dynamic Events and skill challenges. They frustrate us as much as they frustrate you – most if not all of us devs are playing the game right along with you, and these content blockers can certainly be challenging to everyone’s enjoyment of the game experience.
I would like take this opportunity to clarify one thing I’ve seen discussed here on the forums and in game chat. It’s just not true that the higher level or other content wasn’t tested. It was. Thoroughly.
But even with the Beta Weekend Events and our own internal testing, there’s really only so much that we can do to simulate the number of times that events have to run in sequence once a game like Guild Wars 2 goes live. In particular, Arenanet has made iteration one of our key development philosophies which has the benefit of promoting the publishing of better in-game content, but which has the consequence of us doing many builds a day while we’re developing. In many cases the events that are breaking are doing so because of compounding errors that are hard to catch when you’re developing in such a fluid environment. We’re seeing a number of these blocking issues in events that have undergone extensive internal testing, but which have never needed to run dozens of times in a row, because of how frequently we developers were iterating and generating new builds.
We’re working as hard as we can to find and fix the biggest blocking issues, and it’s one of our top priorities to ensure that you can complete each map and play in events without running into these kinds of issues. We sincerely appreciate your patience, and your detailed reports on anything you come across that isn’t working as it should.
Yeah.. i hate Trahearne too… I want to eat him like a salad.
