Why should we not log in though :S we enjoy the game, it’s the reason we’re on the forums now posting our opinion. What you’re offering isn’t a solution but a pseudo feeling of receiving what we’re asking for
Ok log in, but don’t play LS
This is basically how it works in games that do expansions. No new content for months on end.
It’s what you’re asking for, so don’t play LS for 1 year. There’s your expansion.
How about you log in once every 2 weeks, but DON’T play the content, do this for 1 year. It should feel like an expansion then.
As long as they take the 4 WvW maps out as unless REALLY lucky you cannot do them as you get slaughtered on most servers trying to get them done
Something that me and a friend discussed the other night, was how GW2 has guaranteed no rewards, and this really bothers me. Whenever you are exploring the world, and find that hidden cave, you are almost guaranteed to find nothing of interest what so ever.
There may be a treasure chest filled with the same useless green and blue items that drop from any other enemy (if there is any chest at all). There may be a veteran monster, that just takes longer to kill, and doesn’t provide a meaningful reward worth the effort. And all this does not encourage me to explore the world. What’s the point of discovering a cave behind a waterfall, when the cave contains nothing that I wouldn’t find anywhere else?
The game needs better rewards overall, but it certainly needs to reward exploration better. This could be done in the form of achievements, but also in the form of an extra page in your journal. When I discover a cave, let there be something special in it that makes me feel rewarded for my trouble.

I think ANet should be consistent.
At the one hand, all old maps do count towards map completion.
However all new ones do not. If they change them, so they all count towards map completion, which I am ok with, they should make sure to change all maps.
If they did that, people in Guild Wars 1 would rebel. Not just because we want exclusive rewards all to ourselves, but because we put many long months in to get a lot of those skins. Anet said they would be exclusive, compensating us for losing literally five, six years of accumulation. All the best armor and weapons, gone. All our money. Gone. We all had to start over, in a game we never really asked for.
It’s not really that much of a perk to be honest.
The skins are still available to people who “did not” play GW1. All they have to do is “go play” GW1. Seriously, go play it. It’s still there.
I came back after a long 7 months break and I found how all the UI changes are subpar downgrade in my experience. The user interface experience just got worse in some area especially for the Hero panel itself.
I feel like the current Hero UI panel is hassle to work with. Too much clicking needed especially when you need to swap things in tight timely manner.
Here is the IMGUR album with description explains everything. All done in photoshop to demo what can be improve.
Any other suggestions feel free to write.
Pic 1 – Problem 1: When you first open your Hero panel… BLANK! Should be default to Equipment view and then remember last opened panel when you reopen after the first time!
Pic 2 – Variation 1 UX: Rework basic idea of better UI (User Experiences) Basically here allow you to one click switch to 1 of the 3 optional Equipment / Wardrobe / Dye panels.
Get rid of the click open and close each panel between Equipment / Wardrobe / Dyes… Oh my lord that was a terrible design.
Pic 3 – Variation 2 UX: Tab features at the top easy and fast switching to your needs instead of double time clicking open and close to open one and another!
The design is to reduce the headroom space and allow more room for the contents / selections.
Tooltip said it all.
Pic 4 – Variation 2 UX: Showing the Dye Panel with Sub Tab!
Coming from Designer view, Icon / Image / Photo worth a 1k Word! Remember this, we human recognize things by shape and color quicker than details and words.

+1 to every word above.
This is in my mind since the wardrobe system is introduced.
Thanks for the sharing!
+1
The current Hero Panel is very clunky and tedious.
Especially when you click wardrobe before, it stays there…
Hey guys! So just to get this off my chest; I am extremely paranoid about uploading these pictures lol I redesigned the UI on my own initiative therefore I don’t know if I’ve violated some Terms of Service etc (since nothing belongs to me). So I shall clarify: whatever elements I combined, edited, deleted and/or modified are all properties of Mr. ANet! I’m just an extremely visual person and I thought by designing my idea you guys could better visualize the concept Thanks.

My personal problems with the current UI (I’m no unique snowflake therefore I’m sure another Joe or Jane has these same gripes).
1. Upon looking at my screen I sometimes feel there is WAY too much text!
2. The grudge border limits or “closes” the visual aspect of the game (our monitors already do this)
3. We can barely remove anything from the UI; only minimize things (Of which I am grateful
I’ve uploaded a picture where I did my best to have a clean UI: minimized everything, made the map and chat smaller.
—————————————————————————————————————————-
The 2nd image is what I did, so let’s run through everything uno by uno. Left to right.
1. Removed the grudge brush effect around the edges. “Opens” the game.
2. Changed the party UI; I feel the circular shapes are more organic, more attractive and occupies less space (more stylish too :P)
3.On the upper right hand corner I’ve added a new tray of icons:
- The lock icon locks the tray (the icons cannot be toggled on or off)
- The eye icon lowers the opacity of the entire UI (check 3 image!); However, all your skills etc may still be clicked and they remain functional
- The star icon toggles the personal story information or the living story. Depends on which one the user has activated.
- The check mark toggles your daily or monthly tasks. A red exclamation mark (notification) will remain there until you have completed your dailies, like a reminder.
- The other star will toggle the event information. Should you be in the area of an ongoing event, you get a notification until you leave the area or complete the event.
- The “N” toggles the mini map.
- The “XP” toggles the experience bar at the bottom along with our scaled and current levels.

Whew!!! (Bare with me <3)
Now the addition to the utility bar is more of a Quality of Life feature but I thought it would be pointless to make another thread explaining my idea. Basically I’ve always wished we had more slots for weapons, gear, consumables or other miscellaneous items on the fly. I live in dungeons and do a lot of speed clears and I always have to have my inventory open and minimized at the corner so I can quickly grab something.
You Arah runners feel my pain lol plus I’ve seen this a lot in videos on YouTube.
The HP circle was modified to make the entire bar a bit more “streamlined” if you will. I view the HP circle as a visual hiccup when I run my gaze across
To fill these slots you open you inventory, right click the item and select “Assign to A” or “B” etc. These slots wouldn’t function like the utilities drop down boxes. Weapons assigned to the A and B slots could only be switched when you’re OOC. For example a guardian quickly switching to staff without opening the inventory for trash runs.
On the right we have slots for anything really! Mainly nom noms and other goodies (functions the exact same way). The slot on the far LEFT has no assignment – its function is to store the offhand weapon when switching! The slots could even be key bound!
There you have it! Would love criticism, opinions or thoughts. All that juicy stuff. Thank you for reading guys!
PS I tried to use html n textile codes to make the reading a wee bit easier but to no avail. Sorry.
PSS! I realized I forgot the icon for the chat yikes but it would also be toggled on or off. I know we have something similar but it would be nice to completely hide the chat for a bit!

In Lion’s Arch, visit the Laurel merchant and you can see you can buy 2 arrow cart blueprints for 1 laurel.
Now, if I buy 1 Heavy Crafting bag for 1 laurel and sell all the materials I got on trading post, then I can buy 100 blueprints from there.
Is this to give a view about the inflation some parts the game has suffered?
Greetings all,
In October, we had some discussions and updates regarding our Moderation & Moderation Enforcement policies. We had a good discussion on this thread and Martin gave an update on how we decided to process attacks on our staff. At the time, there were a few different threads asking questions about the Community Forums and Moderation. We promised to pull together your feedback and get back to the community with an update. With this in mind, we’d like to share the following updates and offer up some better guidelines and expectations.
Forum Structure Changes
We will be making updated forum structure changes. We’ll be opening a new Profession Balance sub-forum, but merging/archiving some of the less used sub-forums. We will be completely removing the WvW Match Up sub-forum. You can read more details about this change here, Upcoming Forum Changes to WvW Match-ups Sub-Forum. We believe that by streamlining the forums, it will make it easier for you to leave feedback and our Development Team to find said feedback. We will also be updating each sub-forum’s stickied threads, which should help players find help much easier.
Regarding Moderation
Many passionate players gave their feedback in the various posts; many more offered up their opinions via our forums@arena.net account. There are many players who lurk on the forums, or feel that the forums have become more toxic over time. We always strive for inclusive and welcoming spaces for our community. Many players wished to know more about how moderation works and better descriptions for when the Moderation Team is handling posts and threads.
We’ve been working together to update the messaging and change some of the processes. We started closing some threads when we’ve heavily moderated them, but left the good parts intact, instead of removing the whole thread. Of course, we still remove many which are full of violations regarding accusations of hacking, exploiting, griefing, and the like. These threads never go well, so we remove them entirely. Sometimes we make simple edits to posts. These happen when someone makes a good post, but maybe takes a pot shot at another player or a developer. We’re continuing to refine and rework our processes and responses, so we appreciate your patience while we implement the new changes.
Regarding infractions & punishments, please review the stickied post, “A Message About the Infraction System”. This is a good overview of how the Infraction System works. The Community Team has updated some features on the Guild Wars 2 Forums which give us a tiered system of forum privileges & access based on number of infraction points. We decided to offer this tiered approach so players lose various privileges versus receiving harsher suspensions and permanent bans.
The tiered approach covers implementing flood control (how often you can create threads/reply to posts), and disabling attachments, signatures, private messages. In some cases, we disable your ability to create threads entirely, but only allow you to reply at a very slow rate. As one stacks up infraction points, the tiered approach to forum privileges kicks in.
In the past, we haven’t always handed out infraction points, hoping that many players would change their posting habits. With the aforementioned issues with toxicity, we have started implementing points in the system, which will now lead up to permanent forum bans after the tiered system kicks in. We’ve also started doing monthly account reviews, for those of you with an excessive amount of infractions, regardless of your points. We have been notifying those folks to let them know their account is in danger, to give them an opportunity to review our Code of Conduct and get back on track.
We would like our players to consider their posting habits and encourage following the Code of Conduct. We are confident that this approach is more conducive to guiding a more positive experience for our community. With a more positive approach, we’re also going to be pushing out a new Community Team driven initiative. Yes, a wee tease to let you know we’re working on some upcoming changes to the forums and a new way for you to all have a chance to get your many questions answered. For now, you can review our new guide, How to Give Good Feedback
Are you kidding me? Around of 40% of precursors drop registereds are from WxW drop (Lv up chets, and player kill drops). Also, wxw is well know as one of the best ways to get t6 mats (All of’em, due to heavy loot bags). And for last, KARMA and SP are really strong in wxw.
What a wxw player is missing?
If you don’t login, you need to pay to doing Living World, Huh? Anet, None of the Living World stuff so far has been worth paying for, dumbest idea yet!
Anet, if you want money from me, you’ll need to do a hell of a lot better than this!
Dude you just have to log in once within a 2 weeks period. Even if you don’t even play the game that much anymore it is still a very accessible thing
Looking over the LS season 2 blurb I spotted this “Past episodes will be available for purchase for 200 gems”
Does this mean if we want to reply any LS content we need to pay for it in gems? Is it an unlock a chapter forever fee for every account or is it character bound? If we pay for a chapter can we team with people who haven’t?
Personally, not sure how I feel about this move. To me it seems to step over the ‘morality line’ and move GW2 to a payment model I don’t really like..
Hmm
If you log in during the release window of an episode (e.g. two weeks) you unlock the episode for your account. You can replay it as many times as you want for free. If you miss the release window and you want to play an episode that you didn’t unlock, you can purchase it.
It’s a lot like watching television in that you can watch (and record) an episode for free when it airs. If you miss it, you can buy the episode off iTunes later. Does that make sense?
Dint they have a similiar Story teller ??? It is not a new buy story model, they are just adding stufff that was on gw1(step by step).

and

It won’t be implemented for S1, at least not at first, since S1 was not built with the Journal in mind.
They are changing the reward structure for S2 as well it seems, and making them permanent.
Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Or you can you know, login one time during the two weeks that event is available and have it unlocked for free.
It is unlock forever, for the account.

If you purchase the Mistforged version, you will also unlock the Hero’s version.
I would personally like to see an entire series of living world content devoted to, arguably the best race in the Guild Wars universe, the Skritt. I’m thinking maybe there could be some kind of Skritt rescue society, who respond to various issues in Tyria that no other organisation really considers, such as mysterious disappearances and kidnap. So my totally not plagiarised idea:
So it turns out that an orphan girl has been kidnapped by a woman who is really obsessed with like… orichalcum? The woman has discovered that there are rich orichalcum veins in a particularly dangerous part of Orr, but it is only accessible by a small hole, which only a child could fit through. In the meantime, the girl is locked away in the evil woman’s fortress.
So anyway, the rescue society finds out and opts to send two Skritt members (let’s call them… err Bernard and Bianca) to investigate and bring her back. These Skritt secretly have a crush on each other. So we happen to come across the pair, who are being attacked by something? We save them and become involved in the adventure.
Eventually it turns out, that the woman is actually an evil Orr dragon in disguise, and wanted the orichalcum ore to like… power up a super giant dragon robot. Incidentally, the girl has made friends with the super giant dragon robot and she’s all like
“You are not a projectile device, you are who you choose to be”
The dragon robot then becomes good, and attacks the evil Orr dragon. However, the Orr dragon, enraged, attacks the orphan girl. In a brave and loyal act, the dragon robot sacrifices itself to save the girl.
We then step in and fight the dragon. The Skritt deliver the finishing blow and they have a passionate moment together. However, Bernard gets corrupted by the dragon’s soul, and there is cutscene of him giving a very evil grin. However, the characters don’t know this, which sets the stage for follow up stories. Kasmeer and Marjory decide to adopt the girl.
Or something.
Considering a Dev stated Living Story Season Two will consist of permanent content, what is your source of information stating Season Two will be only temporary content?
Easy solution. Go play GW1 if you miss it that much.
That’s what I do when I miss DaoC.
Mmo players with a screw loose vs mmo players with two screws loose. All very important stuff.
-Zenleto-
He won’t die. He’s a major character in the personal story, and anet won’t destroy the “continuity” by having him die.
Also known as a teaser.
I just hope we get my favorite enemy back. White Mantle leading us to the return of the Mursaat!
Oh no, not Trahearne again -_-’
Son of Elonia.
What did you guys exactly expect for your shards? Precursor? Free exotics? A bag of 10 T6 mats?
I dunno…
FESTIVAL TOKENS?
Even if it was ten shards for one festival token it still would have been worth more than those lousy masterwork loot bags.
