Only a WvW player knows that “someone keep a timer on the waypoint” is not a correct translation of “gd pnt tick hold ppl.”.
My first day in wvw I learned Only a wvw player would get the meaning of: “Everyone to SM LR now!!! Man the AC’s (ascalonian catacombs?) get your sups on my BAL ASAP! (what… !?) Zerg inc, mes hide pls. Wow culling, ok spawn, gd pnt tick hold ppl.” lol wut…
Only a WvW player can speak WvW

Only a wvw player would read this entire thread and not deny a single word.
I’ll have to raise the stakes on this one.
Only a veteran wvw player knows that there IS such a thing as too much siege.
Imagine your conquests in EB and end up hitting the siegecap when you want to take that last T3 enemy keep, all you can use is rams and one other piece of siege :p
Took us a while
21 pieces of siege in ogre’s tower alone was part of the problem, someone went into turtle mode i guess.

Only a WvW player would spend countless hours escorting yaks for literally 0 rewards just to make sure upgrades are being finished.
Only a WvW player would spend several hours after they should’ve gone to bed defending Bay with two open walls until finally losing it, and still saying good job to everyone who helped defend it once it’s lost; and then still not go to bed so they can help take it back.

All they care about is PvE, dungeons and dragons, nothing else really.
I care a lot about Dungeons & Dragons as well, but what does it have to do with GW2?
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
I’d like a ding dong ditching siege weapon. Say, a bag that you light on fire, put in front of the enemy gate and knock. They will open, and as they try to stomp out the fire, storm the keep!
Only a WvW player would think that having 40% map completion is completely normal
Only a WvW player would mail some of their loot bags after a big fight to the groups support guardian

Only a WvW player thinks Lions Arch is just ‘that weird place’ you end up making siege in the forge and for hanging out at server reset day.
Only a WvW player targets people with legendary weapons first because they’re an easy kill and spent too much time in pve.
Only a WvW player would use an open gate tower defense for their guilds ‘revenue raising’

I think rangers would rather get a “fetch” command where your pet picks up all the loot bags for you.
I am not oceanic myself but I was usually online while HIRE was active. Compared to other guilds I would describe HIRE’s recruitment effort as low to moderate at best.
Wow. Then I’d hate to see what really aggressive recruiting would look like. Because that last week they were on EB, I couldn’t go anywhere in any zone without getting a blind invite from them. And I was in PvE that whole week. As far as I could tell, it must have been guild policy to send a blind invite to anybody they saw who didn’t have a guild tag, every time they saw them. What does an aggressive recruiting push look like?
Not apropos of what I quoted above: I don’t know that I’m part of any kind of organized boycott of wuhvwuh this week, but I had so little fun and got so little XP that I’m not convinced it was a good use of my time. I can’t really motivate myself to go back just to feed loot bags and achievement points to the Kaineng swarm. If I were motivated by the urge to learn to be uber leet, this would be the good week to do so; you learn more about what you can and can’t do, and you learn more about organized fighting, fighting against hopeless odds than you do in a balanced fight, let alone unbalanced in your favor. But it’s not my idea of a good time. If you want me to be the Washington Generals and lose every game, I’m not getting paid enough.
HIRE was on the server for a month
Did HIRE recruit as much of your servers WvW playerbase as possible before transferring after a month?
Because they did exactly that to IoJ before they transferred to Ehmry Bay, and now I’m wondering if that was their plan for Ehmry Bay too.
I am not in favor of movement speed increasing mounts in the game. Adding these mounts decrease the size of the world(not literally) and that is something I do not want.
If you feel this way, you don’t have to use a mount. Mounts existing in a game in no way require you to ride them if you don’t want to decrease the size of the world. Your logic, however, doesn’t hold up when it’s applied to preventing others from using mounts they’d like to use.
Also, your point isn’t very well grounded it seems. If you’ve played WoW, I’d hope you’d know just how well flying mounts influenced exploration, and how beautiful Outlands and other zones were. Mounts not only help with exploration, but also with immersion.
But again, mainly the point is, your opinion about what mounts do to the game just isn’t fair to cite as a reason that mounts shouldn’t be in the game at all. Moving faster means completing things faster, and doing things efficiently and completing everything is what a huge group of this game’s players is all about. Moving faster also means exploring more of the world faster.
We have already had statements that horse mounts do not fit into the GW lore.
Source? There are a few NPCs talking about horses in the game.
But +1 for the Riding Broom, it’s really confusion.
Box-gloves, gw2-shirts/caps, some other stuff i cant remember… and now even a quaggan backpack, that is not even town clothes anymore.
I remenber aion. I tested a few other online-Games. Nothing can compare to the beauty and style of GW2 so far (at least in my opinion), but aion also wasn’t this ugly. But one of the most horrible things in aion was the equipment. You can devide it in three categories:
1. Boring, but nice:
The most beginner equipment was a bit boring and also mostly not my taste, but you could get a nice armor with a bit luck (i only played a bit and don’t know how to get armor) and the weapons were also not so bad looking. GW2 is of course far better.
2. Shiny in a disgusting way.
In towns, half of the high level players were running around in blinking armors. Female chars a bit like fairys, but more in a techno way than in a fairy way. The males often look like blinking playrobots of little childs. Both looked interesting on the one sinde but unbearable of the amount of players running around shiny like a christmas tree. Nothing compareable in GW2 yet, maybe legendaries, which you so far never see. But i really fear legendary armor…
3. (too) modern
The other half ran around in modern outfits with a sci-fi touch (extraordinary and a bit shiny with floating shoes) or like teenagers (t-shirts, school dresses). I really cant stand these outfits, they fit for sims or for a sci-fi game, but not to aion’s world (in my eyes) and even less to gw2. Still, it may starts with a cute quaggan backpack and ends with gothic-lolitas with angelwings (the girly faces and some of the hairstyles already fit to this picture) and i really fear such a future with players running around like this.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Necrid_Horseman Just a reminder to people that there HAVE been horses in the game, just… not living ones that I can recall.
