Re: Loot Bags
The super annoying thing about the bags is if you miss them because they despawn after just a few minutes. I had two bags drop in the Astral Home sawmill camp while I was lying there dead. I hoped my team would win and rez me, so I could pick them up, but alas we lost. I respawned in the SW corner of the map and ran back to the camp, but the bags were gone.
I’d like the bags to either
1) stay around longer, (put a limit on how many bags you can have lying around at one time, but keep the bags around longer)
2) get teleported to you if you use a WP (coding is likely very hard for this one, so never mind),
3) drop them into our mail!!! (YES, please!!!)
I secretly wish we would just get the loot in our bags after the kill rather than having to mindlessly smash the F key.
Well, there goes my secret!
Their entire direction since Nov 15th has been alt unfriendly.
Oh dear me, no. It didn’t start Nov 15th, my friend, it started way before that.
Remember this quote?
http://www.arena.net/blog/live-and-let-dye-kristen-perry-on-the-gw2-dye-system
Storage was always a factor when it came to dye colors in Guild Wars. The new system would cripple most inventories if we required characters to lug all the dyes around. Fear not! The dye hues themselves will be unlockable through various means, both in-game and out. Once you unlock the color, it will be available across your entire account, not just the individual character.
Guess that selling dye kits in the Gem Store was more important than keeping their word. :P
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.
Man some of you are downright insane. It would almost be funny if it wasn’t so sad and pathetic.
Things change. If Q&A finds an exploit 10 minutes before the patch then they don’t deploy that part of the patch. If something that was supposed to be fixed is somehow broken in another way they pull that part of the patch. It really isn’t rocket science here, heck it isn’t even high school science.
How about you release patch notes with the stuff you are 100% sure about(balancing, already announced changes/additions) and release other stuff you are not sure about as a surprise content?
That’s exactly what we do—we can’t be 100% sure on ANYTHING until we actually release the update, so we pre-announce nothing.
It’s true then what I said earlier in the closed thread- they’ve become scared to promote stuff. Sigh.
Look ANET, just accept that in life humans are not always right , aren’t always perfect, and don’t always do the best job. Oh, and there’s that little thing called unforeseen issues. WE GET THAT- we go through it every day.
ANET, instead of attempting to never be wrong by never promising anything, have the stones to announce what you hope to accomplish, and update us on the progress after the fact. If it doesn’t go right….oh well you tried, and more importantly you honestly COMMUNICATED (say it with me now) with us. This would be a better business model than what you have now, trust me.

If that is true you lose all credebility.
You should be 100% sure before any release or dont release it at all.
We are not your Q&A, your Q&A should have tested everything already.
And dont tell me your Q&A is testing till 1 hour before release, else you couldnt even set a date.
And no i dont mind it if bugs are left since not everything will be found by just a department testing.
But before release you must be 100% sure to release it, or else you shouldnt release it.
So if you are 100% sure you can release the patch notes too and not be afraid if we start complaining before or after the release.
But do not lie to us. I dont like to be lied to. (Should be “We dont like being lied to”, but i cant speak for everyone)

that statement is completely unreasonable, your patch releases contain hundreds of bugs and errors which you still have to be fixed later on, so releasing the information does not affect in any different way as the bugs and errors you are already including, if you dont want to release the information right now, then atleast come up with better excuses.
really. this is quite sad. there are many reasons why patch notes are not released before the patch rolls out. what mark said is completely true. in addition, if any recipes are released, then the effect on the tp is absolutely massive.
so after the release the tp is not affected massively anyways? right, that is what you ment?

I like Jeffrey Vaughn more then the moderators, he didnt lock the topic after his remark :P
Suddenly; “Badmouthing moderators, thread closed”

Obviously the patch is 99% complete since it’s going up today sometime, so why can’t we get the patch notes BEFORE the patch??
Better yet, how about putting patches with full patch notes on a public test server 1-2 weeks before they go live.

GW2 it is time we expand the concept of Town Clothing and Armor Fashion!!
I am hoping we get at least one dress…
maybe a new skin for heavy armor for levels 1-50
I don’t want skimpy clothing I am looking for tasteful town clothing and stylish armor at all levels.
Any previews or links to any of the new armor?? or clothing?
Allow us to UNcall a target, period! (Make CTRL-T a TOGGLE on/off).
The only time I have called a target in this game is by accident. The only way I can think to get rid of it is to call a NEW target (generally a white-text bystander animal) and kill that animal with a good swift flick of my finger.
Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm the rest of his life.

This drives me mad as well, but I don’t think your suggestion will ever happen. They want the default screen to be the Gem Store. They want you seeing it every time you press O.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
They will not be usable in WvW after the next patch.
LMAO and their goes the toys.
Only a WvW player knows the correct falling damage heights.
Why should a skill do 5 times the damage to up to 5 targets then a single target skill.
did you even wonder why a bomb makes more damage than a gun shot? because drumrolls …. it’s a bomb! ( = meant to deal massive AoE damage).
So, just for basic logic, AoE are truly meant to be devastating; anything less than that, and we have a faulty mechanic.
I think he means that mobs don’t have specific loot tables for them, like a mob in AC exp has the same chances of dropping the same loot from a mob in any other lvl 30 areas. Or any risen in orr has the same chance of dropping the same items as any karka. Every mob has the same chance of dropping almost every item as most share the same loot tables.
In most games including GW1 you could have an item that only a group of mobs would drop, no other mob shared that loot table basically like ascended rings at the moment that they only drop from mobs in FoTM. Everyone else is right thpugh, the game does have loot tables, just not a lot of specific ones, although they do exsist already in the game
Specific loot tables are in place all over the game. Humanoid enemies drop type-specific salvage and loot bags, non-humanoid enemies drop type-specific salvage and fine crafting mats.
Risen and Karka do have different loot tables. The simplest demonstration of this is the fact that Karka do not drop Moldy Bags and Risen do not drop Karka Shells.
What I think the OP is asking for is a dramatic change in the loot tables, with specific regard to gear. Even this is already highly dependent upon loot tables – Tamini weapons drop from Tamini; Glyphic weapons drop from Inquest. This is true across all levels.
The OP specifically mentions Exotics/precursors. Those aren’t likely to be changed due to their significance to the economy.
There is a very basic loot table atm which is based on lvl only so u wont get potent blood of a lvl 1. my point was to have a better loot table per mob with a smaller lvl band so u would end up with a proper loot table and not random junk, point me to an item u can get only off one lvl 80 mob that no other lvl 80 can drop, champ karka droped a blue helm for me other day if they had a better loot table just asigned to champs it would been more of a chance to get somthing not just a random item ANY lvl 80 can drop
All you’re doing is proving your ignorance about the topic. The loot tables in the game are vastly more advanced than being based only on level. Loot bags are the simplest example I can give you here. Dredge will drop Miner Bags, Risen will drop Moldy Bags. That’s a function of loot tables.
Another example – you said that you killed a karka. Kill enough of them, and you’ll notice something dropping from karka and only karka: Karka Shells. If there weren’t loot tables in place, you’d see Karka Shells drop from any level 80 mob. You don’t. Q.E.D.
Insisting repeatedly that there aren’t loot tables doesn’t somehow make it true. Do some research, you’ll quickly see evidence of tables.
loot tables dont exsit in this game when any mob can drop any weapon seen a sreenshot dusk droped of a random lvl 80 mob thats not loot tables thats random.
Exotic armor named after famous characters from Guild Wars can be found as high level loot. thats from wiki on named loot, from that wording it can drop anywere u just need luck. it dont drop from a champ or event it has a chance to ofc but it could also drop of a normal mob on the way to said champ/event.
I’m sorry but you’re just plain wrong on this. If the game didn’t use loot tables, you wouldn’t see things like specific loot bags (i.e., Miner’s Bag) dropping from specific enemy types (i.e., Dredge). Mist Essences would have a chance to drop on any mob in the open world, which they very obviously do not. Loot within FotM would not be dependent upon Fractal Level, which it is.
Your analysis of Dusk is flawed in that you’re examining a sample size of one. Dusk has a vanishingly small chance of being dropped by any level 80 mob – that simply means that it’s present in most/all of the level 80 loot tables.
What you’re suggesting is not the implementation of loot tables. They already exist, whether you like it or not. It sounds like you want the tables to become more specialized, though. Using your example of Dusk, in other words, instead of being a vanishingly small percentage in all of the tables it’s currently in, it would instead be a somewhat higher percentage in a handful of tables – for example, only Risen.
Again, this is not likely to happen. Things that are currently spread across all loot tables – such as Exotic precursors – are implemented thusly for a reason. You’re not supposed to be able to grind for them.
Only a WvW player knows that “get Frogs” means go capture the Hylek point by QL.
(Frogs up! Dredge up! Go flip Ogres! Get Quaggs!)
Actually, a few weeks ago, “get Frogs” meant “Attack Arborstone” and for the past two weeks it meant “Attack Vizunah Square”. Try “Hylek Up”.
However only a WvW player knows that “dredge up” does not mean either of these:
1. to bring to notice, esp with considerable effort and from an obscure, remote, or unlikely source ~ to dredge up the past
2. (Engineering / Civil Engineering) to raise with or as if with a dredge ~ they dredged up the corpse from the lake
Only a WvW player knows what its like to have no money due to overpriced repairs and objective upgrades, and the fact theres no reward for excorting dolyaks and spending 5 times the rewards on a trebuchet or golem just to try and take a tower/keep.
Only a WvW player can never get there monthly due to having to do fractals.
Only a WvW player sticks to the same boring character because Commander Icon and Siege are souldbound…
Only a WvW player gets sick of the same boring copy-and-pasted maps for 5 months, because Anet refuse to improve anything than PvE or Dungeons
Only a WvW player gets a suprised and happy when a Rare drops because they drop like anything anywhere else…
Only a WvW player has badge of honnor gear because PvE’ers will have their 1-2 gold gear instead.
Only a WvW player has no Instant Repair Canisters left
Elementalist Mesmer Ranger
Sea of Sorrows
I was once told by a PvE player that “PvP/WvW players are generally disrespectful, don’t play well with others, and are hostile with no sense of community.” Only a WvW player knows that there is no stronger community than WvW where you play alongside the same people day after day, that there are no kinder people than the ones that will come across an entire map just to respond to one person’s shout-out, and that we don’t just have to work with 5 people at a time for 30 minutes at a time – but dozens if not hundreds throughout the day.
Only a WvW player knows why not killing the lowbie mining for his dailies is both an act of mercy and a show of power.
Only a WvW player thinks that jump puzzles are only for gathering siege just before reset, and the achievement points they got the first time they finished them were “some kinda weird bug or something…”

Well, I can’t speak for others of course but for me the supply of dyes has plummeted again. I’ve found precisely three in the last week or so. If others have perceived a drop in supply that would help explain a rising price.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Only a WvW player would go into PvP with a build that’s not necessarily good at killing people, and still be happy with it.
Only a WvW player got all of his exotics with karma points.
Only a WvW player looked at Legendaries and the new armor type and said, “Welp, I’m never getting any of those.”
Only a WvW player has to say “the new armor type” because he can’t remember what they’re called because he never sees anything higher than Exotic, and those were from the karma vendor.
Only a WvW player has exotic accessories that all came from a badge vendor.
Only a WvW player hopes the devs read this thread because it highlights some fundamental weaknesses in the WvW experience.

Bandwagoners ruined my once fun server. Wish they would all leave.
Be careful what you wish for…
I used to say the same thing. Now I realize that pve’ers don’t leave servers, only WvW guilds. Not that I’m not happy they left, lots of disruption gone now; it’s just that now we don’t have that zerg to occupy the larger of the enemy forces.
