I cant reroll, ranger is too much fun for me and I dont have many problems with it. Everytime I start a new character I get to lvl 5 or so and I delete and go back to ranger. Im in love. Hehe.

Um, my polar bear doesnt die hardly at all in dungeons. He is like having a mini tank by my side. Sorry yours does. My pet has tanked and lived through many boss battles, sometimes even to the point that my team mates agreed that if he wasnt “tanking”, the battle would have been harder.

What I think is quite unfair is that this event, whether you liked it or not, was absolutely free, provided great rewards (if you got them), and was bundled with a ton of OTHER new FREE content.

NOBODY playing the game lost out on anything. You know what I think? I think Arenanet should have never rewarded anyone with anything because none of you guys appreciate their efforts. And every time they try to make things right, you piddle all over them (and yourself in the process).

I’m just saying that everyone is being a weeeeeeee bit melodramatic and overly sensitive.

They’re adding new ways to get precursors, precursors were not even close to a guaranteed get from the chests, none of the items are anything better than what you could craft on your own (relatively cheaply), and none of the game’s content even makes you feel like you need a full set of exotics to survive to begin with. Especially if you play with any other people.

I’m sure they know how you guys feel. How could you not by looking at the topics alone? Calm down, send a ticket, if they deny you appeal their decision with proof if you really really think you MUST have a karka chest, or drop the game and go play something that you don’t care so much about.

Because in the end, if you didn’t LOVE the game, why are you so mad?

I agree. It is getting a little out of hand in my personal opinion. But like they say, you give people an inch and they will walk aaaaalll over you. Its like giving into the spoiled child, one day you will have to put your foot down.

Zimlobo is correct. You really need to just experience it and decide for yourself. I have been 80 for a while now, play every day and still find so much to do.

Yes and no, its clearly stated that at some point you will need ascend gear else the fractal dungeon gets too hard because you lack the necessary infusion. Most of the time it probably is no problem, since you ll drop the gear once you reach the level. But in the future parties maybe start asking for ascend gear just to have a smoother run. Gear they can see, you skill they don’t know.

Oh well if its just to be able to do Fractals, then it wont matter if you dont care to see that correct? And if you do, you will spend the time doing what is needed.

I havent been playing because of health reasons, but now I am gravy and will play until I die.

People were told that getting max level gear would always be fairly easy, and would be possible to acquire using a variety of actions (karma, gold, dungeon running, and crafting). More dedicated players (read: players who play more) efforts would never give them a statistical gear based advantage over less dedicated players (read: players who play less).

Now that the new tier has been introduced, people are afraid that what they were told is not what is going to happen. The new tier, and its special infusion items, may very well allow more dedicated players to have a statistical gear based advantage over less dedicated players.

Some may say “so what?” If they spend more time and effort, should they not be allowed a gear based advantage? Well, the answer does not really matter here. People were told that the stat gain would not happen, and now people are afraid that it might happen in spite of what they were told.

Now, the new tier has not been fully introduced, and the stat gain on the new items does not provide a significant advantage in any area of the game. However, once the full tier is introduced, it is very likely that a player clad in it will have a very large statistical advantage over someone who is not. This begs the question: once the full tier is fully introduced, will players who play less be able to obtain it fairly easily, and in a variety of ways? If not, then players who play more will likely end up with a huge statistical gear based advantage.

As it stands, the only way to obtain the items in the new tier is to grind a dungeon. The amount of time one has to grind is, by many accounts, prohibitive to players who are less dedicated. In the current climate, less dedicated players will have trouble getting a regular group together to grind the dungeon (no dungeon queue tool contributes to this).

Now ANET has said that eventually the new tier will eventually be available in a variety of ways. They have not commented on just how difficult it will be to obtain compared to the current exotic tier. Will the ascended tier become a barrier that separates the hardcore from the casual? Or will it be like exotics were: easy to obtain the stats, hard to get the good looks.

Time will tell, but until it does, I’m not going to invest any more time in GW2. Before the new patch, playing GW2 with its “easy to acquire” max power gear made me realize that I’m tired of being at a statistical disadvantage against people who have way more time to grind than me (see SWTOR PVP). GW2 looked like it might break the mold, but now it may end up falling in line. If it’s the former, I’ll be back; otherwise, I’m out.

(And before you say that the new tier will not give anyone an advantage over me in anything other than the non-competitive aspects of the game, I will point you to WvWvW; a game type that I planned on playing for my endgame)

No you aren’t the only one, it still needs some improving, but atleast now there is something challenging with progression and actually worth doing money-wise in PvE. Way better than before! It’s really a lot of fun above lvl 10 because most people know how to play and are generally friendly and interested in working together.

Yep, not the only one, count me in the 3 percent of people on the forum without tears on their faces.
