I totally agree. This would make getting the word out so much easier.
Great to see that it’s being looked acknowledged, but please do not remove this. It’s a cool, fun little thing to goof off with that doesn’t break anything. The worst you could day about it is that it can be a little loud with the Halloween sword skins, but I’ve seen worse from people spamming the Wintersday bells. Yeah, it could get a little confusing in PvP or WvW, but since you do no damage & other attack animations cancel the effect out, it’s pretty harmless.
I agree that there should be an option to toggle the visibility of the daily bar on screen. As Xiem said, it can be annoying for those playing at lower resolutions.
I haven’t gotten the combo one, but even if it weren’t buggy, so few know how to do combo fields properly that I can see how it would be a chore. Unless you can make your own that is. I don’t have enough experience with all the classes, however with my ele & thief I end up doing combo field kills by my self all the time.
Refinement is honestly no biggie for most, we have the requirement for gathering stuff already. Dodging was fine, I got that in 5 mins by kiting a ton of mobs in the human starting zone. As for the underwater combat thing, seriously? There are far worse things than that you could complain about. Like Galen Grey said, just go to a low level zone & melt faces. Simple!
Now if you can’t find anyone to revive, try looking around in the world across the different zones. That’s the intent to these changes & the ones to come after all. There’s a good chance you’ll come across a number of NPCs to revive. Absolute worst case scenario, go to Divinity’s Reach and get your fellow players to jump off the statue of Dwayna. I often do it for kicks & I’m sure people will be willing to help out.
Glitchiness aside, I love the new system we have for dailies. They actually take a bit more effort to complete & keep things interesting.
Yes! I too would love to see more instruments in the game & wouldn’t mind paying gems for such a novelty. Instruments like the choir bell and pipe organ give casuals something fun to goof around with, & the hardcore crowd something to master. I do have to agree with Catisa though in that there should be an option to disable it on your end.
Actually Tim, that jingling sound effect has been part of some armor pieces. The rare quality conjurer pants have this for instance. As for if it was newly added to some sets, I have no clue.
23 tries till I got an Endless Princess Doll tonic = 10g
Chasing people in LA with a faceless, soul eating doll = Priceless
Good question, I was about to start a topic asking the same thing.
Yeah, there’s no way I’m going to spend money on a gamble that’s designed to make you buy “just one more” to potentially get what you want. I was thrilled to see that they got it right with the weapon skins this time around by letting us buy them directly, but it bums me out to see them pulling a 180 and trying this stunt with the minis. I have no problem with buying account bound content. Just make it so that we can purchase it directly.
I would gladly buy more stuff in the gem shop, but there is a right and a wrong way to go about selling it. Purposely barring access to buying something directly in hopes that you’ll get some poor souls to gamble over and over to get what they want is definitely the wrong way.

First of all, the puzzle is gorgeous! Simply a beautiful sight to behold. It took me several tries to complete it, & personally I think the difficulty is just right. That said, I feel locking too many players out of content during a limited time holiday event just to cater to those wanting more of a challenge seems a bit wrong.
I will agree though that multiple difficulties going forward would be a great idea.
I really like how the special items (Gem store & in game) have been handled for Wintersday! Being able to buy stuff directly & having additional items available through normal gameplay is a huge step in the right direction in my opinion. As it stands now I would definitely get the skins in the gem store as opposed to only being able to gamble for a chance at one, which I wouldn’t do. Hats off to Anet for a wonderful winter wonderland!
Could you guys potentially just remove the culling system altogether, or at least add variable settings in the options panel? For me, this one feature really damages the immersion and feel of the world. It’s bad enough seeing a dozen plus people suddenly render at the TP when I’m standing on top of them, but in WvW it’s downright game breaking. Having the sort of draw distance like you guys had in beta would be a godsend. Example: http://youtu.be/kMh6K-8M_Gw
I understand that the whole system was probably added to help the game run better for some, but why should the rest of us have to suffer? Adding more options for draw distance & details / effects could alleviate the whole problem for many. I mean, the game is great. And it’s easy to tell a lot of love was put into it, but issues like this kind of bog down the overall experience.
I have to agree with those calling for it’s removal. The DR system is not player friendly and in my opinion seems a bit hypocritical to Anet’s design principles. If Anet defines a “grind” as “repetitive gameplay that is not fun”, I feel that being effectively forced to stop earning mats when you want to, then carry on later is an artificially extended “grind”. Why? Because it’s simply not fun being told what I can or cannot do with my time.
To me, it feels that the main point of Anet’s Manifesto & all their promises so far is that we as players should be able to play as we want to, and have fun doing it. I feel that DR is in stark contrast to this by forcing players to either stop what they’re doing & stop having fun working towards their goals, or to hit the TP & face prices that can too often cause you to have to grind gold to afford what you want, which will be impacted by DR too.
Some would say that all of this is to point players to the cash shop, but the key thing to remember here is that it would take a ludicrous amount of money to convert enough gold to afford many things in the game. Prices that would drive many potential buyers off. Take legendaries or crafted ascended gear for example. I’m sorry, but I’d rather put that money toward paying the bills or eating for the month. Not to mention the fact that many people don’t like the idea of paying real money for virtual currency, myself included.
To sum it up, all I want is for this game to thrive by sticking to it’s merits & avoiding pitfalls that could potentially cripple it’s long term viability, or instill a sense of distrust in the community toward the devs. The both of which have been the downfall of too many potentially great games in the long run. If I didn’t absolutely love it, then why would I take the time to address any concerns?
Yeah, the winged and feathered sets having lines on the abdomen for human females has me bummed too. I should also mention I noticed the same thing on the skin that the [Light Pirate Leggings of Divinity] have.
I wholeheartedly agree here. I have two characters in their 30’s & I’m already sitting on more chests than I know what to do with. All the rewards thus far I’ve gotten from them are nice to be honest, though they don’t really make me want to run out & buy gems. As a way to monetize the game & bring in revenue I feel the chests could offer a bit more. Not so much to make the game go into pay2win territory of course, but enough so that there would be some incentive for more of us. As the above posters mentioned, maybe adding in dyes or crafting mats? I would love it if the chests offered that for example.
Just finished the download. It’s been a bit intermittent, but hats off to the tech team for the quick fix!
