Yes, it seems like about .2-.3 seconds which most people wouldn’t notice probably, but it’s been mentioned a few times by myself and other guild members. We figured it was just a stealth nerf :P

Do what we do when someone tries that nonsense in map chat, block ‘em and/or return the favor if you’re feeling fiesty. If you want to organize your guild, then kitten those clowns. They don’t roll your guild for you and frankly you don’t answer to them.

I saw a commander the other day tell someone to turn off their tag on AR; they got barked at for it so much they left the map 5 minutes later. Guess it’s all about who’s present.

Enjoyed IoJ and SBI this morning roaming with my thief buddy from vT, Thorp. Hope you guys enjoyed the fights at camps and in open-field too.

We’ve enjoyed the fights this week, though we haven’t seen many roaming, organized groups on IoJ or SBI (5-10 mans). This isn’t a troll post, do you guys have any? We’d love to watch for the tag while we’re out and about.

Basic overview:

- 5 man group, hit by all basic aoes because of AOE cap.
- (Even small) Zerg, 5 people out of zerg hit by aoes because of AOE cap.

Paraphrased: “Zerging should not be the only viable method of winning”.

Seems like the developing parties are purposely missing the basic tactics 101 from their desire to have “more tactical gameplay” in WvW. So, to make it as simply said as possible: Remove the AOE cap, remove the problem.

“Throw down more siege, powerbuild hur hur” should not be the proper response to this issue. The WvW Future post was a gigantic slap in the face for some of us.

Making a general statement to talk about something in general is actually a great way to make a point if it is accurate.

Stop trying to forum-fight me based on conjecture, just accept that some AR people whom you are referring to as “unfortunate Anvil Rockers”:

1. Don’t give a kitten about points.
2. Look for skirmish and skilled fights and aren’t interested in unskilled winning through 11212211122111111 keys.
3. Because of 1 & 2, look down on said “alliance” as it is a way for the poorly-skilled to try and band up to (poorly) fight a largely more-skilled opponent.
4. Wish the “alliance” would not exist and instead wish that the larger guilds heavily involved in WvW would learn their classes better and mechanics associated with them (or if they already know, teach their guildmates).

Right here is where you lost it. Generalizing about how people play is generally a bad way to make your point.

For the record about us “unfortunate Anvil Rockers”: neither I, nor [vT], give a kitten about your typical unskilled and mindless karma train and go well out of our way to avoid it. Instead, we prefer smaller, skilled fights. You know, the ones where you don’t hit 1111111111111211111111 and call it “winning”. I’d rather be the former sort of “Anvil Rocker” any day over the latter, where score doesn’t matter and skilled skirmish fights are king.

The “alliance” is still kitten. It’s a kitten idea and no doubt going to be kitten in execution, too, after the bang-up job of the last “brilliant plan” that was being touted in map chat.

Frankly, I hope it breaks down so I don’t have to see Dawn of Destruction and whoever else spamming in Eternal Battlegrounds about how no one should attack any Borlis Pass players, because alliance(!!!11``).

Here’s a better idea for the brainiacs out there: learn your classes and fight better; the rest will take care of itself.

I still have difficulty with Mesmers from time to time; you can tell a good one usually who kills you and it often has very little to do with Confusion, because the bad ones often try to go full confusion and get murdered. Nothing wrong with that, every class should have viable strengths, and you as another class should spend some time learning how to counteract that with your class’ abilities (or lack thereof in the case of not attacking).

Confusion’s fine in WvW, with this one caveat: it should not apply on any dodge rolls so that needs to change.

The answer to “fixing” the lowest armor/vitality class is to nerf it because people learned how to play evasively through cantrips? This game doesn’t have global CC cooldowns, so giving people CC breakers and having them utilize them is a given. If other classes don’t have several VIABLE ones, then maybe you should instead look at that. IE: Warriors.

Coolest thing I’d ever encountered in WvW happened last night. I was solo-taking South camp and the timer was juuuust about up and a small horde from eBay showed up. Instead of mowing me down with auto-attack, they all stood there and one person came out to fight me. When I beat him, they let me run off unaccosted. It was so surreal, I was like “did that really just happen? I wish I’d fraps’d it!”

I normally don’t post on the forums, but I had to come here and add: This change is lame. The only good thing about the change is the basically 1 rare per chest increase, but it doesn’t actually work out to “better” if you did a dragon or three during your time online in a gaming session.

PS. I gotta find out who that Mesmer was that roflstomped me in like 10 seconds. I was stupid inebriated, but still, I have never been murdered like that before. Totally respect whoever that guy/girl was.

Generally speaking, in EQ, Shadowknights were a cross between a Necromancer and a Warrior. It could cast, life tap, but wore plate armor and used a weapon or weapon/shield. In Warhammer, DoK were basically melee/healers (a bit overpowered at first, to say the least).

I’m a big fan of stabbing stuff, having more than 2 hitpoints, but I also like casting spells in the process, even if they’re weaker than “pure” classes.

I’m looking forward to playing the game, it looks sweet and I’ve been reading for what seems like hours. I have not played a PVP game since Warhammer Online (loved it, until… yeah…), and before that, the game I played was Everquest (yeah…).

My question mainly revolves around this: I love hybrid-melees. In Everquest I loved my Shadowknight. In Warhammer I played a Disciple of Khaine. I’m trying to find out if there’s actually any “hybrid” type classes in Guild Wars 2 before I character create, or if there’s ways to do it. Don’t be afraid to link me stuff, since I’ll actually read it ’cause I like to L2P.
