I opened the chest at the Urmaug’s Secret JP and went outside. The cliff edge is transparent. I was going to post a screenshot but guess I am not smart enough to figure out how >.<
I will say this much. Aion got a pretty big update yesterday and it was entirely, completely, free :-)
I admit it, I didn’t read through every single page of posts. I did read the op, or enough to get what his point it. He is saying, correct me if I am wrong, that the price they are asking is fine because the Veterans have experienced so much that the new players won’t ever get to experience.
Sorry but I think you, and probably some others, are entirely missing the point. Let me see if I can explain it in simple terms.
Say you buy a new car, you love it, you have it a few years. The seats start getting worn out so you decide to buy new ones. Now new seats, 2 of them, front and back, are going to cost a little but you don’t mind because you really want those new seats. You go to buy them but the store tells you that the only way to get them is to buy the total package, which means buying the entire car. It doesn’t matter that you already have the car, that you have had some amazing times in that car, to get the new seats you have to buy another car.
Doesn’t sound very fair does it? Making you buy something that you already have just so that you can get something that you really need and/or want.
I already bought the game so why should I have to pay for it again just to get the expansion?
I hope this explanation cleared it up for at least a few of you.
Just a note. NCsoft owns Anet. NCsoft just yesterday gave Aion a huge update and it was totally, completely, free. I have been playing since the game came out, even back when it had a monthly, every single update has been free.
Now don’t get me wrong, I might not mind paying for HoT if it wasn’t so kitten expensive.
I’ll be in the rafters or somewhere above it all laughing as they die, then. I saw this coming the moment I found out the Consortium were involved at all. I might lay down a few fire traps to help out, though. Fried Karka is said to be a delicacy in some parts.
I think a good place to be is up high where you go to get to the entrance to Troll’s End. You can see all around from up there and it should be safe.
Just a thought. Have a place in the Guild Hall to place a statue. You would choose from a small selection of statues to find one that best represents the person you are honoring. Place the statue and put that person/players name on it. Seems pretty simple to me.
It is in a private place, instanced place, that only the Guild Members can access. The only difficult part would be the selection of statues. It could be a selection of the different races and classes but it would also need to be the different sexes also. That would mean a selection of 5×9×2 or 90 which seems a bit excessive. Maybe make it the 2 sexes, 5 races and 3 armor types? That still makes it 30 but that’s a lot less than 90.
Or, and just thought of this while typing this. Be able to put a screenshot of their character on a wall in the Guild Hall, like a portrait, with their name at the bottom.
Anyways, these are just thoughts of giving a Guild a way to honor a member that is gone.
I will start off by saying no I did not read every single page of this thread. I read enough of the first page to get the main idea of what the discussion is about.
Now my 2 cents, for what it’s worth. I have seen people quit games over RNG. They try and try to get something, to accomplish something in game and they fail, repeatedly. This happens enough times and people get frustrated and give up.
Case in point. I am using another game for an example but RNG is RNG no matter the game. In this other game there was a set of armor that everyone wanted. But it was very hard to get. First piece was pretty easy then each piece after got harder and harder. To get the pants, the 4th piece, you had to craft something. Not only craft it but the craft had to proc. The mats needed were somewhat expensive and could be difficult to get.
Once you had all of these mats you would attempt the part. If you succeeded then great, on to the next piece, if not then off you go gathering more mats. I know of people who would try this multiple times over. Some people wouldn’t even try to get the set, as good as it was because it was such a headache. Some would try 30, 50 or more times and keep failing.
Then the devs decided to make a change. This craft required one mat that was the hardest to get. You needed 100 of a particular drop that only certain mobs dropped. The change they made was this. If your attempt at crafting the needed piece failed then you could trade 5 non-procs for 100 of that difficult to get mat. It made failing not so painful any more.
They have since simplified it even more but I honestly think they have made it to easy to get now. They probably did it because the max level has been raised and the set is now somewhat obsolete.
Also, just my opinion, but, I think the loot tables need a tweak, or two, j/s
First let me admit that I did not read all of the posts on this thread. That said let me give some suggestions
Make a party leader, they have the kick ability, no one else in party does. In the case of someone going afk in the middle of a run, even if it is the party leader, then all drop party then immediately reform the party.
As long as everyone who is not afk reforms the party then they can continue on. Give it a 5 minute reset. Anyone not back in the party within 5 minutes gets kicked from the dungeon. In the case of it being the leader who afk’d then whoever reforms the party becomes the new leader.
In the case of 2 friends starting a party then 2-3 others joining then voting the leader and his friend out, this would stop that. Also make it so that if 2 friends start a party and 2-3 others join, not only can they not vote the first 2 out, if they leave and try to reform their 2-3 into a new party to continue it will not work as long as the original 2 are still in a party. I hope that makes sense.
I admit this is not a perfect solution but it would put a stop to people joining a party then voting out and kicking the one who started the party after part of the run is done. To be honest I don’t think that there is a perfect solution but I think this is the best that can be done.
I have 2 favorites, both involve a charr either talking to or about a Sylvari
First one, you have gone to recruit Galina and Snarl and in talking to her she calls Trahearne twiggy.
“We? There is no “we,” twiggy. I’m not interested in a waterlogged Ash deserter. Do whatever you please"
In the other Tegwen has just basically committed suicide to save everyone.
Afterwards when you are all talking about her sacrifice Ballista Geargrind says…..
“Count on that. She was a tough old stick, and she fought well”
I also always laugh when I greet a friendly skritt and they respond
“what what whaaaaaaaaaaatt”
When is this kitten ever going to end? So I like playing my ranger, does this mean I become the blacksheep of the group as soon as something goes haywire?
So I joined this level 49 Fractal group, First and second fractal went just fine, then the third was Legendary Imbued Shaman aka the Pug killer.
Being a ranger, I prefer the longbow on this boss for the strong ranged dps and stealth for those annoying grubs that spawn.
So what happens is that everybody in my group went down because we didn’t have enough dps to take down the army of grubs that spawn. I was the only one standing and tried to kill some of the grubs to rally my teammates, this didn’t work out and suddenly I was standing in Lion’s Arch again.
This all really started on the second fractal when apparently the electric orbs the Harpy shoot that knock you down, Is now a ranger skill and I got told not to use the electric orb skill? So at that point they started hating at me, gentle but still.
I guess this story also fits for other classes such as Necromancer and Engineer these days. Pathetic really. I just wish people would look at their own faults and failures from time to time and stop pointing fingers at the ’’inferior’’ classes.
My 2 cents for today.
I read the first page of this thread and I noticed something interesting. The OP said one thing in their original post that caught my eye and that by the looks of everyone’s comments you all missed.
This all really started on the second fractal when apparently the electric orbs the Harpy shoot that knock you down, Is now a ranger skill and I got told not to use the electric orb skill?
The rest of that group told him to stop using the electric orb skill? My main is a level 80 ranger, we don’t have that skill. So this group was telling him to stop using a skill that he doesn’t even have which tells me he was grouped with morons.
The other thing that I found interesting is how the rest of the group died but he didn’t and they blamed him? Sorry but if you died then there is a pretty good chance it is your own dang fault, stop putting the blame on someone else.
Last but not least………………….First and foremost this is a game and I will play it the way that I want, the way that I enjoy. I do not expect others to play any way other than how they want. What I see a lot of in this thread is people telling the OP that he has to play the way that others think he should but the others don’t have to play the way that he thinks they should? That’s just a little one sided don’t you think? So, in other words, he is supposed to play the way that everyone else thinks he should but he isn’t allowed to tell anyone else how to play…………………..someone is seriously full of………………….kitten :-)
Ok for what it is worth here is my opinion. Some people just don’t like large Guilds. They like their small Guild with family and friends. That being so, why should they be basically penilized for that by being denied a Guild Hall?
I agree, the size of the Guild should decide the size of the Guild Hall. I also agree that a one person Guild should not be able to get one. That falls into the realm of housing, which is something I hope we do get.
I play another game that is not only published by NCSoft, like this one, it is also developed by them. What that game is lacking is a Guild Hall, or as they call it a Legion. What they do have is housing. See where I am going here?
GW2 could use what they did for their housing as a template of sorts for our Guild Halls. Basically at level 20 you can get your studio for free. It is a single room that you can put 20 items in. I will touch more on the item part in a minute.
If you have money you can buy a larger home from auction. The more money you have to spend the bigger the home. There are houses, estates, mansions and even a palace here and there. Each has space for a certain number of items, depending on the size of the home, and they also have other benefits.
For example, if you own a mansion you have no soul sickness when you die, not something that we have here but just an example. Another benefit for owning a certain home is a crafting boost. There are also mining, logging and harvesting nodes in the housing area.
Now, the items part. You can place storage cabinets that are extra warehouse space. You can put beds, chairs, table, rugs, and other home furnishings in. Yes you can lay on the bed and sit on the chair. You can put trophies from kills on the wall. My main there has 2 dragon heads on her wall. Kill a boss and you have a chance at getting a trophy. You buy plants and put them in your home that give different things depending on what kind of plant it is. It might be a dye for your armor or it could be some other item that you can use to upgrade armor and weapons or even buy pvp armor and weapons.
The way that this is all laid out is simple. The studios are in what looks like an apartment building. You click on a gate to enter and are teleported into your studio. The others are laid out in villages. In the center of these villages is an area where there are NPCs. Warehouse, general store some specialty shops, mailboxes can all be found in these Village Squares.
When they added the housing to the game they also added another craft and called it construction. You can build items for inside the homes. The beds, tables, chairs, even the storage cabinets can all be crafted. There are also some that are sold by NPCs but the best stuff, nicest looking, is crafted.
So, I think that GW2 could use something along these lines to design our new Guild Halls. Villages for the larger guilds that have more people, influence and money and the “apartment” building for the small guilds where they can have a room, or 2. Please don’t punish the ones who like their small “family” guilds.
There is an escort event in Snowden Drifts that bugs quite frequently. The title of the event is “Escort the Quaggan Emissary to the Kodan camp”. The Quaggan you are escorting, Bleepdoop, has a problem where he tends to get stuck inside a rock.
The rock is sort of an arch that he is supposed to swim through, or past, but he swims up inside the top of it and then just stays there and won’t come out. I tried talking to him but he stayed put.
If he gets attacked by something he will come out but as soon as it dies he goes right back up into the rock again. It makes it impossible to finish this event.
According to the wiki this door cannot be opened but not only does it look open there is very clearly a chest in there. I could not enter though, it seem almost as if the door was invisible? My question is this, considering that there is a chest in there then I am guessing we are supposed to be able to open it but how? I had 2 dwarven keys so that’s not the answer, unless it was truly bugged.
This is the door in Dredgehaunt Cliffs with the POI Tomb of Morlog
Sorry but no way is Nexon worse than NCSoft. They pay little to no attention to what their players want and they haven’t even got a website that works the way that it is supposed to. Every time they get a CM (community manager) that tries to interact with the players and listens to what they say said CM ends up getting fired. No way would I want them taking over here.
I had to watch both Forgal and Tybalt die. It was a sad, sad couple of days in Tyria :’(
EA is taking over
….whatever it is.. it cant be THAT evil…
And now you’ve just jinxed it.
It could be worse, NCSoft could be taking over :/
There is a jump in Troll’s End that is extremely difficult for the average size character and impossible for the larger ones such as Charr and Norn. Every time to try to jump you hit your head on the ceiling causing you to fall so you have to go back and repeat the section that you just did.
After trying this JP multiple times, and repeatedly failing because of this jump, I then realized that I had an easy solution sitting in my warehouse. I simply went and got a Plushi Griffon tonic out of my warehouse and when it came time for that jump I transformed. I actually finished the rest of the JP in that form and was laughing the entire time.
All it takes is using something to transform into something small. So simple that I wonder how many never thought of it lol

1115140 I’ve replied to you – I’ll watch for your update.
-snip-
I have replied via email, actually I replied twice because I wasn’t sure the first one went through correctly. Waiting on a response.
I checked the forums and wiki and didn’t see this posted anywhere yet and I thought others might be curious like I was. I did a makeover on my Asura and while I was at it I screenshot the new colors. They aren’t the best screenshots but they will give people an idea of what they are. In order…
Copper, Chili Red, Flame, Night Shade, Chocolate, Truffle, White Smoke and Celestial

My suggestion:
1. Party-based events (fractals and dungeons) should not be offered as a daily event.
2. Time consuming events (4-event in a specified area) and party-based events should never be offered on the same day as they exclude experienced players. Having two highly challenging options, plus one moderate challenging option plus one easy option is a better mix.
3. The reward for crossing into new territory should be far more tempting. Otherwise, all this new system accomplishes is discourage players.
I completely agree with all of your points and your suggestions.

As said million times before, give us back the generic dailies:
- replace the “4 events in queensdale” by “4 events”.
- for pvp: check the most played character and add to the selection (=> the 2 random classes + the most played one). Or even better, add a generic task so that at least we can do them with our prefered class if it is not selected.
- for WvW: ensure we can do all of them in EOTM. I’m on a bad server so WvW is not an option for me.
Imarion
*I would say make the 4 events region wide instead of zone. Instead of 4 events in Queensdale make it 4 events in Kryta.
*For pvp instead of 2 classes per day make it 3 and add that generic task so the classes not named have something to do
*I agree with your point here
I said it before and I will say it again. All of the people who are disagreeing with the ones who are not happy about the new dailys are basically saying the same thing. They keep telling people to just go do something that they have no interest or desire to do. All of you who are saying this are completely missing the point.
This is a game, we play it to have fun. To be honest, signing on and then spending my game time running around trying to complete these new dailys keeps me from doing what I want to, and need to, do with my characters. Some people have only a limited amount of time to play and I, for one, am at the point where I have to choose. Do I get my dailys done or do I work on my characters, I don’t have time for both any more.
Sorry but that is not a choice I like having to make
And please do not tell me just go pvp or just go WvW all you are doing is once again telling me to do something that I have no desire to do.
Date of ticket was January 4th,
#1115140
I got the email saying that the request was received and was being reviewed but I haven’t heard anything since. Thank you for looking into this for me.
I put a petition in to support on January 4th and the only response that I have gotten was the automated one saying that my petition had been received. Can anyone give me an idea on how long it should take before I get a real response? Thanks in advance for answering.
For what it is worth here are my suggestions. Make the pve, pvp and WvW each have 5 options instead of 4. It gives people slightly more flexibility.
For pve make it 4 events in a particular region instead of zone, that will hopefully stop the zergs. Also would it be nice if we didn’t get any more double fractuals in one day, although if it is raised to 5 choices that wouldn’t be as much of an issue. The logging, mining and gathering could remain as is, as could the view a vista, those I have no issue with.
For pvp, there are usually, correct me if I am wrong, 2 that say something about winning as a Mesmer or winning as a Thief? Just add one more profession to the list per day, problem solved and it again makes things slightly more flexible.
Sorry, I can’t really comment on wvw as I have never actually taken part or explored that part of the game yet (oh the shame how dare I)
What I can comment on is the prevailing attitude that seems to be very common here. Too many people have the attitude that everyone is supposed to play the game the way that they think it should be played. Bottom line is, this is a game. It is something that we do for enjoyment and anything that detracts from that enjoyment, if it continues, could very well drive us away.
You like the dailys because you enjoy pvp or wvw or the fractuals, gratz, for you everything works out great. But there are people who do not like the fractuals, or pvp, or wvw, or whatever, and that is their choice to make.
What it all comes down to is everyone has the right to enjoy the game playing it the way that they want to play it, not the way that others think that they should. The current dailys are preventing that for some people. Has anyone ever heard of compromise? That is what we need here, a little compromise. For those that like the dailys, fine. For those that don’t what harm is there in tweaking them just a little to bring back the fun for those who have lost if?
I keep trying to complete it but it won’t update and give me the next step. I have killed the destroyers 4 times and nothing. No cutscene and if I talk to Ftokchak or Tybalt Leftpaw it doesn’t help. Everyone was alive when the last destroyer died so I know that is not the problem. I am seriously getting tired of repeating this hoping that it finally updates just to be disappointed, again.
I have tried to do this quest twice on 2 different characters and I even switched to a different computer. The same thing happened every time.
Zone: Bloodtide Coast
it is in Whisperwill Bogs
quest is Help Cesseilia defend and research the oasis
The bug that I am having is this. I go and get the three ingredients for the potion. I take them to Cesseilia so she can brew it. Once she brews it and tells me to use it I cannot move. No matter what I tried my character stands in one place and will not move. The only thing that fixes it is to log out to the character selection screen and then back in game but then as soon as I do the next potion the same thing happens again.
When I did it this time there was someone else there that said they were having the same problem.
I am somewhat new to the game and a little confused so sorry in advance for the noobish question.
I understand traits for the most part but I checked the wiki, and maybe I missed it but, how to you “learn” so you can equip the master and grandmaster traits?
