Mount: Looks great, takes a little getting used to but moves very nice, except for one thing, it needs to be able to strafe. I had fun using it to climb a couple of the pyramids lol

Map: It is beautiful. I do wish that more of it had been open though.

There were some things that could have used a better explanation.

The Sous Chef for the Mastery Point, please, pretty please, just no. I tried it twice and wanted to stuff the Chef into the oven, gave up and left

I sometimes run with my heal on auto attack depending on where I am. It has actually saved my butt a few times.

It is very possible that this person does the same thing then gets called away from their computer, maybe they have kids or someone knocks at the door, who knows. Then, because of where they are standing, they die. If they were doing it to farm then they would probably stand some place where there aren’t so many mobs so they aren’t dying all of the time.

Are they hurting you in some way? Are they interfering with you being able to play the game? If you answered no then maybe you need to just go on about your business and not worry so much about what someone else is doing. They aren’t botting, they are simply doing what everyone else is, enjoying the game in their own way.

I really like this idea and it is proof of what an amazing community we have.

There is only one thing that I would like that because of my horrible luck I haven’t been able to get. I have opened so many Black Lion chests and still not seen it. I would appreciate it so much if someone could help me out. I am going to keep an eye on this thread and help anyone out that I can :-)

I am on Jade Quarry/NA and I would very much like a Permanent Hair Stylist Contract.

I always seem to want to change at least one characters hair every week so this would really be nice to have. Thank you in advance to whatever kind soul grants my wish.

Thank you for the offer. I finally found a very friendly helpful Mesmer last night who ported me. I did the smart thing and took my Mesmer who is now parked there so that I can port people if they need it. I don’t play her very much so I thought that would be a good use of her skills for awhile :-)

Does anyone have a Mesmer parked at the end of the JP that is the mushrooms at Rata Novus? I have tried over and over and because of lag spikes I just can’t get through there.
I am on NA and have a character parked at the beginning.

I have heard that there is a way to drop down from somewhere above and glide to it but I haven’t been able to find any information on it.

Either of these options would work for me. If you know the drop down one please post it here. If you are willing to port me please contact me in game.

I am not sure exactly what to call the last item on my list, or maybe I should say items. There are things that you purchase from the Master Craftsman and some things that you actually craft that are used for crafting and basically have no other use but they currently do not go into the materials storage.

I am going to use cooking as an example because that is the one that I am most familiar with. Some of these items would be
ball of dough
loaf of bread
bag of sugar
jug of water

When I was leveling my cooking I ended up using a lot of my inventory with these. They are used for crafting and have no other use, they are basically crafting mats, so can we please put them in the material storage. Even if only the things that we purchase from the Master Craftsman are added it would be a big help.

After thinking about this I have come up with this for housing.

Place, or use, a building in Lion’s Arch. There is a Real Estate person inside that you purchase your home from or visit if you wish to upgrade to a larger home. There are venders to buy items for your house. One vender for furniture. One vender for decorative things such as plants, paintings and wallpaper. At the back of the building is an Asura gate. You enter it to enter your house.

Lets say they give us a choice of 6 types of housing. Those 6 housing types could be, from smallest to largest, Studio, Cottage, House, Manor, Estate and Castle.

The Studio would be a small single room. The Cottage would be a medium size single room. The house would be a large single room. The Manor would be 2 rooms. The Estate would be 3 rooms. The Castle would be 4 rooms. The larger the home the more it would cost and the more decorations you can put in it. There would also be a monthly maintenance fee for “upkeep” on all except the studio which is free. If you miss your monthly payment when the next one comes due if it has not been paid then your items get put into storage.

We would have options, for the inside, that let us make the house our own. We could make the style match our race. We could place furniture. Storage cabinets, beds, chairs, tables, rugs, paintings for the walls, trophies from Dungeons, Fractuals or Boss fights. You would have an orb on a stand that when clicked on gives you the option to go to your friend’s and Guildmate’s homes.

I may add to this as I think of more things.

Did you find all of the Strongboxes? They each give a Mastery Point the first time that you open them. They do not, however, show on the map. Check Dulfy.com, she has guides to finding all of them.

One of the issues with player housing I have experianced in other games that have it , is what to do with the houses when the player leaves the game.
You can easily end up with the equivalent of deserted cities full of abandoned houses.
MMO companies are reluctant to take someones house for the same reasons that they dont delete your characters even if you havnt played for many years.

In Lord of the Rings online you get kicked out of your house if you don’t pay the rent. All your stuff put in escrow. In Ultima Online your house would decay in 30 days, if you don’t refresh it. After 30 days its drops and all your stuff it up for grabs by other players.

I would love to see real housing in GW2 but like another poster said. This staff can’t even get out the legendaries that were promised with the expansion eight months ago, and just released the third wing to the raid. Most expansions are on there second or third raid after eight months.

But you know, who knows. What most MMO companies consider a priority in an expansion. Like lots zones, dungeons to play, full complete raids, fulfilling on promises made, following up the expansion content after release. ANET decides lets fix a 3 year old world boss. The direction of this company is completely schizophrenic. If they spent the next year on a quest chain to get tin foil hats I wouldn’t be the slightest surprised.

In Aion if you own a house you pay a monthly “maintenance” fee. If the fee is not paid they put your belongings in storage and sell your house to someone else. The house sales are run each week with closing being at noon on Sunday. The houses are in little communities that are actual parts of the game, not instances. The free studios are instanced with no monthly fee.

Player housing. I played another game that had it. There were 2 options, you could either have a free studio which was instanced or you could buy a house in one of the many communities. The bigger the house the more that it cost plus there was a monthly maintenance fee.

The reason to like housing. Taking from my experience in that game.

We could make or buy cabinets to store things in. Look at it as extra warehouse space.

You could buy hearthblooms or guestblooms. Only you could water the hearthblooms but anyone visiting your home could water your guestbloom. They would give different items such as dyes, armor pieces for skins and other things that were specific to that game.

You could decorate it with trophies of the dungeons that you have run or the bosses that you have killed. I had 2 different dragon heads on my wall.

You could put paintings of different places from in game on your walls. You could add furniture, beds, chairs, tables, rugs and even walls.

You could have your friends over and throw parties :-)

I have killed numerous Quartermasters and Veteran Guards solo and according to the wiki they both drop it so getting credit for killing mobs is not the issue.

I had stopped playing WvW when the maps switched and only recently went back to it and still no spoon. I also tried it on my other account and didn’t get one there either although I haven’t run WvW very much with that account.

This is beyond annoying.

I am trying to complete the Achievement Koutalophile but I can’t seem to get this last spoon. I did WvW for at least 6 months, going for hours every day. I have killed everything that I could think of, taken Camps, Towers, Keeps and the Garrison multiple times.

I have run solo, with a few people and with the zerg. Either the drop rate on this item is horrendously low or I am doing something wrong. I believe that the problem is the drop rate and I wish Anet would either fix that or remove that spoon from the collection.

Any suggestions are welcome but please refrain from rubbing my face in how easy it was for you to get it. That is not helping.

I will take a moment and explain the level 80 boost.

You choose a character to use it on. It places that character in The Silverwastes with armor, weapons and trinkets. Whatever equipment you were wearing is put into a “bag” in your inventory. You are in a trial of level 80. You have to stay in The Silverwastes but you can run around and explore while killing mobs and doing events.

If you decide that you do not like that character/profession/race then you simply leave the trial and it puts your character back in their racial capitol with the gear that they had on before. If you decide that you like it then you make it permanent.

Once you make it permanent you get other things such as one shared inventory slot, among other things.

I suggested that they make it Dragon’s Bane instead of Dragon’s Watch. IMO that makes more sense.

I was there for awhile. After I completed the dive I stood in the water for awhile with my Mentor tag up. I was fun helping out and giving encouragement to the ones who were diving.

I think you may have made the same mistake that I did. If you look there is a green circle around the area where the scout is standing. Stand inside that circle and use the warbler. You should be able to speak to the scout after that.

Make sure your status isn’t set to invisible, that disables Guild Chat, at least it does for me.

If you want the first word of the name to be Dragon’s then a better second word would be Bane.

Dragon’s Bane ……….. I mean after all, isn’t that what we are? How hard would it be to change that one word to make the name make sense?

Every day I kill Bandits and get the Encoded Order. I take it to the NPC in Divinity’s Reach. I take the the bounty that he gives me and kill the target that is named.

I finally got credit for my second one but considering I have been killing them for 6 days I am not happy about this. I am wondering how many I have to kill to finally get credit and get the achievement.

According to Dulfy:
Bounty Hunter – 5 AP (Repeatable)
It will take 3 days to complete this achievement as you can only get 1 Encoded Orders per day (hence 1 contract per day). You cannot progress this achievement the first day since you used the Encoded Orders to unlock the achievement.

I have done this every day since we got it, a total of 5 days, and according to my achievement panel I have only killed one target. Is this achievement possibly bugged?

I had the same problem. Sometimes I could see them and sometimes, when there is a lot of activity right there, I couldn’t. I found another way to tell when the blue is coming up.

If you look at the feet of the boss there is a circle with an arrow that is pointing the direction that he is facing. Watch that circle. It always rotates, which is easy to see because of the arrow, right before he pops the blue. When the arrow moves, circle rotates, dodge away and you should be good.

Not only is the bug back it is worse. Before I was only getting the mail on one character. I could take any of my others to LA and nothing but take her and here comes the mail.

This time all of my characters are getting it, every single time I go to LA.

Please, I beg you, please take her stationary away………………………….permanently…………………..Thank you :-)

Everyone keeps saying wait 30 seconds but it was quite a bit longer than that before it would let me send another mail. You would also think that if a player has 11 level 80s on their account then it is pretty safe to assume that they are not a gold seller.

I agree that Guild mates should be able to send unlimited mail.

I am not saying remove the restrictions completely but I do think the current system needs to be re-evaluated and some changes made.

I stood at the crafting station working for about an hour. During that hour I ran to the TP once to grab something. During this time I was not talking. Not in map chat, not in local chat, not even in Guild chat.

Once I got done crafting I attempted to mail some items. I sent 2 mail, 2! not 5 not 10, 2! When I tried to send the third mail it wouldn’t let me because of excessive messaging. Seriously? Since when is 3 mail excessive messaging!?!?

Something that I discovered from watching a video. Use the first skill you get to go through the barrier. When you get the second skill, the jump high in the air one, use it to work your way up the hill. Stay away from the Exalted dude and the vines do not spawn. Once you make the first jump up to get away from the wolves without the vines you have time to look around and find each of your next spots.

I found a really great video on youtube that showed me the run. I suggest you watch one because if not you will be totally confused as to where to go.

Go to the wiki and check the rewards for Bitter Harvest. Among other things you choose a box of Viper’s gear, Minstrel’s gear or Trailblazer’s gear.

The Mistward armor set does not show up in the wardrobe either does that mean that they don’t exist in game either?

Correct me if I am wrong but you are referring to the pearl weapons? They are in game, as a reward. keep playing you will find them :-)

I was trying to get the achievement Leave It to Me. To do this I did as Dulfy suggested. I took someone else with me. I remained outside of the room while he went in and killed the wolves.

Everything went fine until everything was dead and I entered the room. As soon as I entered we were both transformed into rabbits and we stay rabbits. Imagine my little rabbit self hopping along carrying Glint’s egg. Actually you couldn’t even see me because the backpack holding the egg was bigger than I was.

The rabbit transform stayed even after we finished, got our rewards and left the instance. We had to log out to get rid of it.

Yes, I can go throw snowballs at other players. Yes I can build snowmen out of magic snow. I can open presents and follow a dolyak carrying presents as many times as my heart desires.

The problem is that everything that we can do this year we could do last year. We have the same annoying JP, the same game ringing the bells, everything is the same.

The biggest disappointment of all. Because I did the “get the ornaments back for the orphans” event last year there is nothing new for me to do this year. I find it really sad that Anet couldn’t come up with something new for those of us that already have the tree. After all, think about it, we are long time loyal players but this is what we get for Wintersday?

Apparently the skill has an issue with Destroyers. This just happened when I was killing the Destroyer Queen.

I used the skill Jade Wind on a Veteran Destroyer Troll yesterday and got really odd graphics. I did it again on the next Veteran Destroyer Troll and the result was the same. It didn’t effect the fight at all it just looked really strange. Screenshot attached.

I had the same problem. He wouldn’t talk to me until I stood in the green circle and used the warbler. I think the trick is you have to be in the circle.

That’s fine and I understand the reason for them not being able to use a Guild bank, well up to a point anyways. My point is if they can’t access a Guild bank then why let them make a Guild.

I finally talked my friend into playing and neither of us noticed that he couldn’t access a Guild bank. He created a Guild to make it easier to pass things between his 2 characters without jamming up his warehouse. Now, after I have spent laurels to help him upgrade his architecture we both realize it was all for nothing.

Why not put a level restriction on it, like LA and WvW. Let them access it once they hit a certain level?

I just noticed that one of the restrictions for a f2p account is they do not have Guild Bank access. My questions is this. What if they create the Guild? Before anyone asks let me say that yes, a free account can create a Guild and they can also upgrade architecture.

Sorry if this was already answered some where.

I say no to giant pets. It covers up your enemies and makes it impossible to see what is in front of you.

I am actually glad that Anet took over. I have dealt with Ncsoft in the past and to say that I was less than pleased with them would be an understatement. Basically, everything that Anet does right Ncsoft does wrong.

They have a history of not listening to thier community and they have now gotten to the point where thier #1 concern is getting people to spend as much money as possible in the cash shop. It has actually gotten to the point that they have events every week and every one is aimed at luring people to the cash shop to spend money.

Every other aspect of the game is almost completely ignored.

I have now tried all of the different specializations. I do have favorites, and there is one that I don’t really care for, but that is all just my opinion so I am not going to go into detail about them.

Most people are forgetting one very important thing. We are basically being handed a level 80 geared character and dropped into an endgame area, and turned loose. We haven’t learned how to play that profession the normal way, by leveling it, so we are at a disadvantage.

I will say that I did enjoy this latest Beta up until a certain point. I spent my 2 mastery points on Gliding and Mushrooms and everything was going really well. Then I learned my third Mastery and that’s when things went downhill.

I did not have a third Mastery point to spend, for some reason we were unable to get more than 2. Because of this I could not “buy” that third Mastery. Because of that this extremely annoying window kept popping up on my screen telling me that my third Mastery was complete and I needed to finish it by spending a Mastery point on it.

I tried to ignore it, I really did, but after spending at least 10 minutes having to click it to get rid of it I finally got so annoyed that I logged out and didn’t go back. Needless to say my Beta experience ended a lot sooner than it should have.

Had I been able to buy that third Mastery I would have had the ability to use updrafts. Before I realized that I wouldn’t be able to I was actually looking forward to experimenting with an updraft that I had found. That was just one more disappointment.

I am still wondering why we were only allowed 2 Mastery points to spend. What could have possibly been the logic behind this?

I know this is probably a bug but it is really funny so please leave it. It happens when you are doing the first storyline.

You head to go rescue the captives. You head down a hill through a tunnel sort of area. The NPCs randomly fall down the hill and face plant. It is random which one falls and where.

In this video 2 of them fall and the Asura actually dies from the falling damage. There were no mobs, we were not being attacked, they simply tripped and fell. I am thinking that it is unintentional, a bug, because it is so random. If you listen at the :11 mark you can actually hear the sound that someone makes when they fall, sort of an umphf sound?

Also when you are coming back after rescuing the captives you run down another hill and they sometimes fall down it also.

What part of Beta is everyone missing? That is why you have Betas, so that you can find and fix bugs. We had a Beta, we found bugs, and now they know that they need fixed.

How would you feel if they didn’t have Betas and that had been the live release instead? Then we would have the live release, of the expansion, bugs included.

Take a chill pill and cut Anet some slack. They are doing thier job they just need everyone to ease up and let them do it. And keep sending them feedback so that they have the info that they need.

The Mastery Points actually weren’t all locked out of bugged. I can’t speak for the others because I honestly didn’t try them, didn’t need them so didn’t bother.

There was one that I went to and got with no problem after I saw people in map chat saying that they were bugged.

It was the one in the lower NE part of the available map. You do need bouncing mushroom completed to get to it.

When you get the cutscene when Rytlock comes back the Audio is messed up. Most of it is too low volume to be able to really hear it. Rytlock’s voice is the only thing that can be clearly heard but the audio and video are not in sync with each other.

Somewhere there is a thread where a particular decoration was asked for. Are we going to have something, some way, in the Guild Hall to remember lost Guild mates?

Along those same lines, or possibly the same decoration. Will we have a way to recognize certain Guild members or Officers?

Will we be able to put mining/foraging/lumbering nodes in our Guild Hall?

Also, how will we talk in the guild chat channels? What will the commands be, and will there be keybinds we can set to quickly change what channel we’re talking in?

This was actually answered. I will give you an example to explain it. Say you are a member of 5 Guilds. They will be listed and each will have a number G1, G2, G3 and so on.

So, you want to say something in your #3 Guild. The command for map chat is /m, the command for chatting in your #3 Guild is /G3. When someone talks to you it will show you which Guild they are representing the same way, for instance G3 if they are in that one.

I checked the schedule for Twitch today and made note of the time. It said that it would start at 12 noon Pacific time. That is 4 pm my time. I come to the computer at 3:55 my time and look and the twitch is ending?

I rearranged my schedule for today just so that I would be able to watch and then missed it anyways. Sorry but I am not at all happy about this. Can someone please make sure that the correct time is posted for tomorrow and Friday. I really don’t want a repeat of today.

When HoT is released how many Hero Points will we need to buy all of the new skills/traits?

I googled for an answer and didn’t find one so sorry if this was already answered. I just want to make sure that all of my level 80s have enough.

I did find on the Wiki where it says each Core Specialization costs 60 Hero Points but the new Specializations, Druid, Scrapper, Tempest etc., are referred to as Elite. Here is the page that is on……..

I believe I may have missed at least one Beta. They said that the one coming up with be in the same area as the third one. My question is which area was that?

Was it the one that you enter when you first zone in from the Silverwastes or was it the one that we had in the next Beta after that?

I looked and that cookie recipe is not on there. Hopefully it will be added.
