An easy way to do this is if you can set your pet to not attack, and have it actually listen and not ignore that command, then stow it and have it stay stowed because it is not supposed to attack.
I saw Electric Wyverns not too far from where the Fire Wyverns were in the last Beta that we did. I saw Tigers in the Beta, don’t remember which, that was in the area that you enter from the Silverwastes. They were up on a high plateau in the north part of that area if I remember correctly.
Do you mean the place where you go if you have the charged key? That’s not it, that area is much smaller and square. This looks like a bridge.
That scene shows the first time at 1:43 in the video
This is a screenshot from a video that is on youtube. Can anyone tell me where this is?
I think some of you either didn’t read the article that was linked or missed a very important part of it.
I quote, “Some Mastery points will come from content that existing players may have already completed, and these Mastery points will be automatically awarded to you with the release of Heart of Thorns, allowing you to get started on your Mastery journey right away.”
Only ever had about 5 key drops from world mobs and I have 13x 80’s.
Never done key farming, as in disposable alts.
I know there is a key in one of the missions to do with Claw Island, so I’m wondering if it’s effected that as well (level 60 mission iirc). As I’m going through the stories with all my characters (4 characters completed so far) in preparation for HoT and I know some are at the Claw Island stage.
It only applies to the level 10 PS mission. Pretty much there is a timer on how many times you can get rewarded on the first stage it doesn’t actually affect the later missions.
I posted earlier and specifically asked exactly what does “early” mean. So far there has been no official answer. Until I see an official answer I am not going to assume anything. I could see early also meaning the level 20, and who knows what else. With level cap being 80 early could mean different things to different people. The important thing is what does it mean to Anet?
What is there not to understand? You may not agree with it, but it’s easy to understand.
Players think the process to obtain Black Lion Skins is too expensive, and they don’t feel that other things you get from black lion chest make up for it.
Players who farmed keys because they were too expensive to buy, cannot do math. It’s about the worst time investment you can make.
I was told you were able to get about 3 keys per hour. One key costs 90 gems if you buy 5. This is 90*1.25cent = $1.125. Per hour $3.375.You are farming for the equivalent of $3,35 hourly wage. I don’t know how you get paid in your country, but here in Germany a cleaner for your household gets about 10 Euro per hour (assume $1=1Euro).
If you go farming keys for 12 hours, you get 3*12=36 keys.
But if you go working as cleaner for only 4 hours, you get $40, which also gets you about 36 keys. For the remaining 8 hours, you can go playing Guild Wars 2 and do whatever you like – you don’t have to waste your time and create and delete characters the whole day.If you now tell me you would never pay $40 for black lion keys with money you earned the hard way in 4 hours as cleaner, why would you tell me you waste 12 hours of your life time by clicking through a computer program to get the same amount of keys? 4 hours as cleaner more wasted than 12 hours as nothing? This alone should tell you that you should never started farming in the first place.
So by your logic everyone who used to key farm should just buy thier keys now because in your world it makes more sense? Do you by any chance work for Anet because I am guessing they are thinking the same thing.
Some of us use it to relax. Some of us do it because we don’t have an extra $50 laying around to spend on things like that. Some of us don’t like spending our hard earned money on something where you have a slim chance of getting something good and a big chance of getting something that is borderline useless.
Oh, and F.Y.I. I am very good at math. What I am not good at is spending money, that I need for other things, on a gamble.
I did Claw Island recently and my mentor still died and I had to go find Mira and rez her. I do wish she would find somewhere else to die because rezzing her while getting pounced on by all of those mobs is extremely difficult.
We need some clarification. It says the early personal story. Someone from Anet needs to tell us exactly what “early” means.
As for the drop rate being increased, I am not convinced. I did, among other things, a map completion and a set of 4 Fractuals and saw no keys at all, not a single one. None dropped in the map completion and no one in my Fractual group got one although there were several chests that dropped.
After seeing that I wonder just what they were increased from and to? Needless to say I will not be holding my breath waiting to see one drop. What I will be holding on to is the 30 keys that I have accumulated over the last few months and are currently sitting in my warehouse. I am waiting for those skin prices to skyrocket.
I still say that one per week is wrong, one per day would make more sense and be more fair to the player base as a whole.
I am sitting here wondering at the logic behind limiting how many Black Lion Chest Keys we can get per week. I could see a limit per day but per week? Seriously?
Let me give you an example. I have a character that started the level 60 Claw Island storyline last night. Today I made a new character and leveled her a bit. I got the level 10 rewards on her, including a key. Now, because of this new “fix” if I finish my first characters storyline and save Claw Island I will be denied one of her rewards, the key, because now I can only get one key per week.
So basically I have a character sitting with her storyline half finished and if I want to get all of the rewards that she is supposed to get I have to wait until next week to finish it. Guess what, maybe I don’t want to wait a week, maybe just maybe I would like to finish it now but now I can’t. Did I remember to say thank you for messing up my week?
I have just one question.
Who is the uninformed person that works at Anet that thought this was a good idea and fair thing to do? They have to be uninformed because I don’t see anyone that has this communities best interests at heart doing this.
Once per day I could see, once a week is unneccessary.
I am right there with you. I got 60 blooms. That was supposed to make up, I am guessing, for the fact that I got only the daily chests for the first and second days of the event. I sent in bug reports, I posted on here, and my reward was 60 blooms.
The 2 days that I actually got rewarded ingame I got at least 90 for one cycle of the events and I did at least 2 cycles every day. I got a minimum of 120 blooms per day.
I am still trying to figure out how they could think I would be happy with 60 blooms. I am now regretting talking my best friend into coming to play with me but at least he is playing the free version and didn’t buy anything yet.
My observation of the problem with this event. We have always been proud of our community, how friendly and helpful everyone is, but this event encouraged people to be selfish and rude.
To get the best possible reward meant doing the tag and run method. People would go to an event, tag a few mobs then run/wp to the next event and repeat. People were running right past others that were downed or dead and not stopping to rez. They would tag a few mobs then leave to go to the next event leaving that event to be finished by someone else.
The reward system was completely backwards. The less you participated in each event the better your reward at the end. The reward system needed to be completely revamped so that it rewarded players for actually participating in each event. The more you participate in each one the better your reward would be.
One way to do this would be have a chest spawn, like it does at boss fights. The longer you were at that event, the more damage that you did, the more blooms you get from that chest. Then at the end of that zones cycle of events give a bonus chest which is based on your participation overall. The ones who were there for the entire cycle, say from the minute it started until the last minute, get a better bonus than someone who showed up late.
I also have to say that the vendor prices need some adjustment, either that or we needed to be getting a lot more blooms.
I only have one question. Am I going to get compensated for the blooms that I didn’t get yesterday or will I only receive compensation for the ones that I didn’t receive before you “fixed” it?
I logged on yesterday and did Brisban Wildlands and got only the 5 in the bonus chest. I went on and did Kessex Hills and again only got 5. In total I did 3 zones and didn’t get rewarded for the stacks, I only got the bonus chest of 5 blooms. I did get the correct, or what I think was the correct, amount of blooms for Diessa Plateau.
It’s frustrating to be part of a large group, only to have 75% of that group (following a commander) suddenly take off, leaving the last 10 or so players in the red circled area to finish up the last 25-50%. This results in multiple deaths, and in last night’s case, at least 5 silver to teleport back to the nearest waypoint, run back down, to help the remaining players try to finish it up.
…
This happened last night, and because the majority of the group took off after getting in a handful of kills, the 1/2 hour timer ended, that individual event failed, wasting game money and time (really could’ve run off to do another 2-3 events in the time it took to try to clean up that last one.). Multiple wipes to full death for those that stuck it out to try to finish it up.
i have made the the same experience. it seems to be the way most people want to play to get most out of this event but it’s frustrating and a far cry from what i expect from playing a game.
Call me selfish but if 75% of your group ran off and left you then run right behind them. Why should you stay, and die numerous times, just to finish the event for them so that they get credit? Let it fail, go find another one to do. While you are at it I would find another group.
I just finished Kessex Hills. I made sure and checked and I had 9 stacks, we ran out of time on the last one or I would have had 10. I didn’t put the effort into it that some are, I wasn’t tagging and running. I got 5 blooms, that’s it, one chest of 5. That is the 3rd time today that I did an entire zone, was there for the entire time and had stacks of at least 9-10 and got only 5 blooms.
There were things that I wanted to buy with those blooms but I am not going to spend 24 hours a day for the next 3 days trying to get enough blooms. In my opinion this event is an epic failure.
I did the event in Brisban Wildlands twice today. Both times the only reward that I got was 5 blooms, the “bonus” chest. I didn’t get anything for all of the events that I did. To say that I am seriously not happy would be an understatement.
I have noticed something that just doesn’t make sense to me. I am hoping that with everything that is going on it simply got overlooked, that it wasn’t done on purpose. To be honest if I were a new player this would be one negative towards the game for me.
I made a new free account. Mostly to explore and see what the restrictions are to help me answer their questions. Partly to hang out with my friend who recently joined our community as a free player.
Now, let me first point out something. Free players do not have access to LA until level 35. The only way that they can get any where is by running or using a WP that they have open.
Now the issue. On the free account that I made I got dailys. My free character is a Norn. Her dailys for PvE (she can’t go to WvW) were……..
#1Wayfarer Foothills events, no problem here
#2Foraging in Kryta? ok and how is a level 15 supposed to get to Kryta for this?
#3Vista in Ascalon, fortunately there is on in Diessa Plateau that is easily accessed from Wayfarer Foothills.
for PvP
- Warrior or Ranger, she is a Thief so no luck there
- PvP Capture~capture a point
- PvP reward earner
Did I mention that I really don’t like PvP? But even if I did I have trouble believeing that a lvl 15 in looted gear would be any good in PvP.
Maybe it is just me but I honestly think it would be a little more fair to the new players, and more apt to get them to stay, if their Dailys were actually ones that they can do.
If they are Norn give them things in their races area, same for Human, Charr, Asura and Sylvari. Change them as they get higher but for the very low levels be reasonable please.
Every time a character reaches thier first Birthday they get a Queen Jenna Mini. When all is said and done I will have 9 Queen Jennas only one of which I can use. The only thing I can do with the others is delete them.
In other words I am deleting my character’s Birthday present. In my opinion that is a slap in the face. Give a Queen Jenna for the first character but why can’t we get a selection for the second thru……whatever?
As for the ones in the Black Lion chests my suggestion would be this. Put mini’s into collections. Have a Destiny’s Edge Collection, a Centaur collection, a Bandit collection, an Inquest collection, you get the picture. Then have the Black Lion chest give us a “Collection” box that we choose which mini of that collection we want.
Either that or make the minis tradeable or Mystic Forgeable.
It was support related but I haven’t received a “rate your experience” email yet.
I sent my request and promptly got an email back apologizing for any delay, saying they are receiving a large volume of tickets. It was only 2 hours 15 minutes later when I received an email telling me that not only had my issue been resolved but that GM MagicPotato had gone, what I consider, above and beyond for me.
That was the reason for this thread. To let him/her know just how much thier hard work on a weekend is appreciated.
I didn’t know where else to say this, and I am hoping you see it or someone tells you. Dude/lady, not sure which applies, but, you rock!! :-)
rytlocks first dialogue line in the beta doesnt play (during that cutscene where he comes out of the mists) and only because of subtitles i know he said anything (was quite kitten too)
I saw the same thing.
Also, my Revenant from last Beta was a Charr but the skill Vengeful Hammers would not work on her. I had to remake her (as Human) to get the skill to work. Also, before I made her, the F2 option was not showing.
Something else that we noticed, it may be intentional but I don’t know, my boyfriend and I were in a group but had trouble entering the “instance” together. We finally managed it but that was after I remade my Revenant, before that we couldn’t enter together.
It has been great seeing all of the veteran players who are at the starting areas greeting the new players. I do have one issue with it. I was asking in chat if any of the players were new and saying if so then welcome to the game. The problem is because of the chat restriction I apparently said it too many times and now I cannot talk in chat.
Because of this I cannot find out who is an actual new player and who is an alt that someone has made. I am standing here with food and bags and no clue who to give them to. I tried just sending them to whoever was there but I ended up sending them to alts of veteran players, some of which admitted they we not new but kept the items.
Any suggestions?
You didn’t say if you were making a female or male but here is my female Thief. For the record Asuran Thieves are extremely fun.
To be honest I wish they would make it so we could dye our hair accessory like we can our armor. When I first bought the game and made my first character I did not realize that I wouldn’t be able to change it. I ended up having to keep my armor a color that went with the hair accessory color and it severly limited my choices of armor dye.
Paragraphs are a good thing, just saying.
I just wish some of you would realize that some people are clickers and will remain clickers. That is their right just like it is your right to play the game the way that you are comfortable.
I too would like to see that option in game. No I am not a clicker, I usually use keybinds. What is also annoying is when my mouse gets bumped, and accidently lands on a skill, and the tooltip pops up as I am fighting. I have to reach over and move my mouse off of the skill to get that huge box to go away. Give us an option to hide it, please.
First a tip. When the mobs spawn on deck and your helpers are standing at the back of the airship there is an easy solution. Get a mobs attention and get him to follow you back to your helpers. They will then come out and help fight. When I soloed it last night, for about the 5th time, Rytlock actually stayed with me after I lured him out the first time. Ironically enough Eir’s wolf Garm stayed with me but Eir didn’t.
My main thought was one thing. They have this new and improved, bigger more advanced airship with this fancy new weapon that Zojja designed and the best she can do is shoot off his tail? What the kitten, hit that thing somewhere vital, like the body maybe, or heck right between the eyes would have made me happy.
Yea I know then people would call it even more anti-climatic but look at it this way, your job was to get the pact, and Destiny’s Edge close enough to take him out. You got them close enough and Zojja shoots him down, works for me lol
These are from the level 40 Vigil storyline. There are 6 videos total, the other cutscenes didn’t have any issues. I hope that these help. They are in order according to the timeline.
Gaile I just did the level 40 Vigil storyline and got a video of all of the cutscenes. I deleted the ones with no audio issues but I have 7 left that have the issue. I will upload them to youtube in the morning so I can post links here. They are all about a minute in length.
I did as suggested and changed my sound quality to fastest. I did the lvl40 Vigil storyline today. I got a video of all of the cutscenes and I have kept the ones that had this audio glitch. I have 7 of them, most are about a minute in length. I will be uploading them to youtube tomorrow morning and will then link them here. Maybe it will help explain what is going on. I have noticed that it is always the NPCs that have no sound and never my character.
This dye is account bound but unidentified. Does it give a dye that we do not have or is there a chance of getting one that we already have and cannot trade because it is account bound? I have to be honest, if there is a chance of getting something that I already have then I will not be spending any gems on this.
The only problem that I ever had with him is sometimes he talks too much. Sometimes I find myself saying would you just shut up already, can we move on.
The bridge only appeared broken. It was a graphics glitch. It appeared destroyed but it was actually still there, there was nothing wrong with it. In other words you made your "big boring circle’, for nothing :-)
I realized that I had mushroom footage on one of the videos that I took. After watching it, and doing some cutting, I have a pretty good example of what has people concerned.
In the video I am on a Revenant, which has 25,151 health, and she comes pretty close to dying more than once. If someone were on a character with less health, such as my Tempest who only had 13,920, they would most certainly have been dead.
There was one that I tried using 3 times. The first 2 times my character just curled up into a ball and started spinning, and didn’t go anywhere. I had to relog to stop the spinning. The third time it worked, although I don’t think I did anything differently. I also noticed that there was one that whenever I used it I took huge damage when I landed. I didn’t die but I think that may have been because I was either on a Revenant or a Guardian so I may have had better defense?
I don’t know if it was a glitch but I used it in the Silverwastes during the part where you are defending.
Let me see if I can explain this in a way that is easy to understand.
- You open your Hero panel and open the Mastery tab.
- Choose the Mastery that you want to level.
- Run around killing things, doing events, getting xp. As your experience bar fills (like it would if you were trying to level your character) it fills your Mastery bar up.
- Once said bar is full you choose to use a Mastery point to train that Mastery.
- Once that is done you choose the next one that you wish to train.
I had trouble figuring out how to do this so I have no doubt that others were also confused.
Thank you for explaining it. Still wondering how I managed to miss the browse button. Just going to chalk it up to my kitten moment of the day lol
I think something like this would work for Guild Halls. Members could put up pictures of members they have lost, officers, members they want to recognize for some reason, or maybe just pictures of their favorite place.
Excuse the WP in the middle, there was no way to get the wall without it. This is in Hoelbrak in the Great Lodge.

I was looking at dragon images and came across one that looked familiar so I went to the website to check. I think this is an images from GW2 but they aren’t giving credit. When I scrolled through the dragon images it was the 4th one.

I have been doing storylines on 2 different characters and I have noticed audio issues. It is usually with Trahearne but also happens occasionally with other NPCs.
During the cutscenes one line of dialog will be fine, then the next one there is no sound, then the sound returns with the next line. It seems to happen randomly.
I noticed it with the level 60 and 70 storylines, both characters are sylvari.
All it would entail is one more line, or 2 if you have 2 crafts, on your character selection screen. It can’t be that hard can it? It has our race, profession, server and where we logged out at so why not what craft we are.
Vayne thank you for the answer. I was going to wait until tne next Beta but wanted to make sure I would get the stuff back.
I agree with this. It would make things much easier instead of trying to remember who has what craft when you decide to make something.
I have decided that I don’t like the look of my Revenant. If I delete her and remake her would I get the 3 weapon/armor chests again?
I looked through the threads and didn’t see an answer so forgive me if it was answered already.

I was in Brisban Wildlands, I had stopped for a moment to look at my inventory, the only thing around me was rabbits and deer, all white/non-aggressive mobs, then all of the sudden I was dead, it seemed like one hit and I was done.
Also I was having really bad lag all evening, at one point I logged out to character select and when I logged back in I was halfway across the map, no where near where I was when I logged out.
I got a total of 41 before I realized that I will never be able to finish so I basically just wasted a few hours of game time that I could have been doing something else. I have tried to do the JP in Sharkmaw Caverns and it hates me so I have no hope of ever getting the 6 that are in there. 6? Really? You couldn’t possibly think of a better place to put 6 of them? I am beyond frustrated with this.
Ok it can be hit but it is extremely difficult, took me about 15 minutes to finally get it.
