Guild Wars 2 is NOT misunderstood
Just ask people in game. Not in map chat but the people who don’t need to blast their egos in the most public way. Not the unsatisfied people on the forum. The people wearing dungeon armor jumping through puzzles. Taking part in events just to explore even though they have a star by their name.
Ask those people. For the rest well they end up here or in another game and there’s nothing wrong with that.
The second they get up they start moving in their predictable pattern, do not reply to chat and do not use defensive abilities or movement. It is very easy to spot them when in game.
@Banewrath
Those are probably accounts they have access to through their database of stolen passwords.
The thing about the bot problem is one it doesn’t halt progress and two it’s not a simple problem to solve. Obviously just banning these accounts isn’t stopping them.
Okay, so for those not aware the bot problem isn’t just because of gold farming but because in this game there is a mechanic that makes it easy and profitable for bots to exist.
This mechanic is one of the most positive in the game. It builds a strong sense of community and brings people close together. Being able to resurrect allies.
This means that bots can be set up and left to farm. If they get killed? Well players will resurrect them unknowingly.
The solution? Bot flags. If you’ve just resurrected someone who is obviously a bot you should be able to flag them.
How does this work?
-From the help menu there is an option to flag a player.
-Once a player has been flagged 3 times this creates a physical flag on their character indicating that they are a known bot.
-This flag prevents them from being resurrected.
How do you prevent this from being used to grief players?
-You can’t flag the same individual more than once every 10 minutes.
-You can’t flag more than 5 people every 10 minutes.
-Flags can also be removed by simple human input. Answering a question or captcha.
Engineer is the most similar game-play wise.
A reminder to be nice to everyone! Never know when you could be talking to a developer!
I didn’t notice when I hit 80 at first. I’m an explorer. I love learning about the lore and seeing the landscapes hang built and deeply thought out. At the time I was channeling my power to use the mist to channel my ancestor and see back 250 years ago. Comparing the old landscape to the new one.
To me being 80 means freedom. Do what you want and go anywhere you want to go. Now you can finally try out every possible direction your character could specialize in, really invest in the gear you will carry with you, help out your friends and guild mates and be a super hero. Travel and help anyone you can. Not to mention the other game modes. Or if you are the type of person that enjoys the level advancement more than anything else roll an alt!
Hello Anet,
I am currently leading a…..My biggest concern right now is the Guild Bank.
Fellow guild leader here and I cannot agree with you more. This is such a frustrating problem that I have no good way to solve at the moment. Glad to here others are on the same wavelength.
As for my own suggestions:
Description Page
How we are to explain what the guild is about and it’s history? The daily message is pathetically small and there is a complete lack of description. I am currently working on a website but I shouldn’t be expected to have to fund my own website just to get my guild members an idea of what we are about and our lore.
Emblem Aura
No one wants to wear lame looking armor or mediocre looking weapons. It’s unrealistic to expect to brand every single piece of art you’ve made so far without thinking about it before hand. How about Emblem Auras?
These glowing emblems could be a subtle particle effect that hovered in various locations depending on which each player chooses such as in front of the chest, by weapons, on the shield (aegis) or even on the back. Obviously a more pricey upgrade.
Finisher Banners
I don’t even think this should of had to be researched on it’s own. I expected when we got our emblem that our finisher flag in PvP would display our banner. This is a must.
This could be tricky to do from a point high up. There is a bit of a dive animation if you do it very close to the water.
I haven’t much paid attention to level. I enjoy traveling and exploring the world while stumbling upon events. There is a lot of stuff I missed the first time around. Level 80 in Guild Wars 2 takes a bit longer but I feels very similar. It opens up a whole new, yet familiar, world and lets you experiment a lot more with your skill deck. We’ve only fought 1 of the 3 dragons on Tyria and haven’t sene what dragon(s) are in Cantha aka the Empire of the Dragon and haven’t taken back Elona from Palawa Joko.
When prophecies first came out there were lots of level 20s that felt lost after beating the main storyline. Then we discovered the depth of the Temple of Ages, the Hall of Heroes and the rest and before long expansions came out and the game got deeper and more complex.
Oh and one more thing…
Rata Sum=Mursaat
So relax. I feel that prescription games (yes prescription) have trained us to thing that if a game isn’t providing us with infinite hours of mindless grinding that we aren’t getting out money’s worth since we are on the clock. Guild Wars isn’t like that. You don’t complain when you beat any other 60 dollar game and there is nothing to do at the end and that’s not even the case here. Even without being a prescription game they have went out of their way to provide long lasting entertainment.
I swear this was in early on when the trading post was still iffy. Does anyone else have any memory of that?
Regular PvE? Dungeons? PvP? WvW?
So you basically want to be able to outgear and hardcounter certain classes in order to feel “pro”? Please go away.
One could argue that WvW works much like this in small skirmishes.
What he’s suggesting doesn’t appeal to me but I don’t see that as a reason not to implement it. I simply won’t use that gameplay mode.
I lost 20 fps in LA and generally anywhere with a high density of players such as WvW where as before I had zero performance loss around players which was quite impressive.
Check another off for the Crossfire map bug.
Edit: Also happens after dialogue scenes.
