I actually just bought gems, hoping to give my gf the backpack, but I can’t… first time I’ve been actually deeply disappointed in the game.
We didn’t have trouble finding a good build or playing our class. You may review for example the video “rangers are OP” or the months of player and developer comments, as well as patch notes to see the gradual progression away from a bugged weak class. If you have played ranger since launch, your anger is beginning to subside. If you roll a ranger now, you probably think it’s fine if a bit quirky and could use improvement.
I used to main mesmer, but will be switching to ranger as they are ridiculous in spvp and 1v1.
Followed java tanky trap build, but used a warhorn instead and boy is it better. The utility from the warhorn is disgusting (the circle of fire is too small, and you already have a fire trap). Most of my games are in the 200-300 range, and have staying power that is insane.

Btw quickness stomping is OP :x
Hopefully they are looking into this, lots of players are actively posting and chatting about this and no info is creating a negative atmosphere.
If the server is wrong about who’s actually logged in playing, his numbers would look normal. They have to actually test and let us know either way, because the client they gave us is saying something is wrong and that’s all we know.
Just to be sure I ran a quick database query for the last few days and all the queue numbers look quite reasonable.
Sorry, but this is simply not true.
There were NO WHERE near 100 people in WWW when there was a queue. Not on TCBL, not on all maps together.
I understand that you check your numbers and say ‘’business as usual’‘, but it’s simply not correct. The numbers that you see, do NOT, in any way, correspond to the actual players in WWW.
.
Also, on a totally different subject: there have been several Anet posts about this, but none of you ever said the actual number of that queue. Is there a reason why it is a secret?
I’ve concluded as a ranger I’ll never burst someone down, therefor I want to outlast them. 0/0/30/10/30 with apothecary armor and weapons and new ascended tough/vit/cond. Shortbow and axe/torch. My feline is my damage and my condition damage boosts it. Take nature’s protection so your hard to burst. In short I’m very tough, mobile, have great heals, and can put constant pressure on.
There is much discussion in the WvW forum about a bug where people log off or exit the game from WvW, but still appear on the map. A dev answered a post that queues look normal, but has anyone addressed the bug where people still appear on the map and that the game reports them in WvW, hours after they have left the game?
Obviously this has enormous repercussions in WvW if the server isn’t correctly counting players. Many, including myself, feel this is what the server is doing and it’s creating imbalances and bizarre queues that are hours one minute and instant the next. Also, people feel they are sitting in queues, then entering a half empty map with nobody around.
They were not fun because first they were hacked to death, second if you were down the orb buff just buried you.
Spent a lot of time in wvw since launch and yes I agree. We have no data so we can’t really “know,” but it doesn’t feel right. I’ve experience the same 30-40 minutes waits, then drop, relog, or re queue and I’m instantly in and there isn’t many people around.
I suggest when you are dead you enter a ghost view, where you can see the landscape ghost-like but cannot see enemies or siege. This is to prevent corpse spying where people run in to defenses and dying, using the game mechanics to adjust treb fire etc.
Taking time and effort to get what you “want” is not grind to me, it’s goals you can choose to have or not. With very little effort you can be a viable max level toon with top gear. Compare that to WOW, where if you don’t play for a few months, you will very quickly be under-powered, unwanted, and researching what grind you “have” to do just to play.
Are you confused with Hero Engine and SWTOR? They had hype leading up to game about live changes.
Just formed a group with gw2lfg and tried to do TA explorable like many times before. Like malicious2310, I kept getting “Network Error.” Connection was fine, I dropped group and rejoined, same error. Relogged, same error. Completely exited game, retried, same error. Group gave up. No idea what’s going on.
Completely blown away, great game, great events. Bought it for my girlfriend, she absolutely loves it.
Rage…diminishing….switching to ranger forums.
No, I bought Black Lion keys, got nothing worthwhile. I can’t do that with real life money. No keys or chests for me ever again unless I get keys in game or have too much gold.
I’m not mad or frustrated, just confused. Maybe someone at Anet can tell us what happens when something like this is launched? I think the confusion is, how can you not know when your doing something like this?
I don’t really agree with all these ideas, other than the pet simply needs to work right and apply its damage. I mean c’mon, this class is not new to mmos the pet needs to work, anything less is not ok. I think Anet already knows that. The pet needs simplified and sped up. I care much much less about how it looks than how it works.
I should add I’ve mostly done wvw and that’s what I was was talking about. As someone who just started doing fractals, yeah, pet useless and a handicap.

Good parts, roughly what I have and wvw runs well. Don’t be shocked when you get into big battles though to see lag and 30fps, currently the server can’t handle some battles it seems.
Hi,
Got my girlfriend GW2 for her laptop. It runs barely, although she doesn’t meet minimum specs (for the game
Anyway, I’d like her to be able to use my desktop with my copy of GW2 installed occasionally, so I created a user account in Windows 7. When I launch GW2 it brings up a client with no pre-filled account or password. Seems ok, is this the way to go about this?
Thanks!
I agree stealth is a ridiculous mechanic currently, as basically even the most aware and skilled player has a default hp deficit versus a thief. There is no counter other than senseless and repeated aoe in random directions.
A few professions need a stealth counter with a cd though, not just rangers, or we will be pigeon-holed. Ranger should definitely be one of the professions, as it fits perfectly with the profession. Engineer maybe too, some sort of vibration detector or sensor. Whatever, but thieves are currently cheesy and ruin the fun of a fight.
Does it come through mail? I also bought the total makeover kit, it took my gems but I got nothing even after re-logging, which also bugged btw.
Good game play is a player looking around them as they attack and being aware of surroundings. Unfortunately, clicking on the map and looking around make you drop your target. Please allow disabling or remove that function.
