I think obvious ones are things that look like they could be a glider but aren’t (i.e. glitter wings).
Also, rare prestigious gliders should exist, achievement based, raid rewards. If they do I don’t know, apologies.
Finally, weapons (i.e. Archeage)
Too bad you don’t get mastery points for playing the part of the game you like
Okay, I am getting very tired of this debate that is, what I call and age-old bicker, in-game about whether MF works or doesn’t work.
If your trying to roll a 6, and have 1 die, you may eventually roll a 6.
If I give you two die, your chances of rolling a 6 will increase. You may never roll a six, but your better off than you were.
Magic find.
I dont have HOT, I played WvW for a couple hours and crashed at least 3 times.
It’s been brought up. It’ll be up to the devs to determine if there’s a need for it.

No point doing the obvious I guess…might as well make it slow and bureaucratic or wait for lots of complaints.
Please add a raid forum, so we can discuss them as they develop and after release.
Am I imagining things or was there at one time items that matched the theme of the Dreamcleaver logging axe? I finally sprung for one but I’m really sad I cant have a matching set. I’m not buying ones that don’t match, as the item is purely vanity and convenience.
If not please add items that match the theme.
I read a thread about the supposition that what if GW2 turns into subscription?
and literally everyone on the thread, not even one exception, answered they’d leave and don’t look back until it’s not subscription again, saying they’d play WOW or etc
so, i’ve recently been thinking i’m losing a bit of interest in this game, and just playing daily pvp. and I concluded the reason is very little reward. I mean, in case of pvp, maybe pvp leaderboards can be seen ingame. that would inspire me so much to play. since I don’t see any progress on my position ingame, when i win I think yay, and when i lose I feel ‘maybe next time’, and that’s all. maybe that’s exactly what Anet intended but we still can see the leaderboard on forum, and why not ingame?
back to my main point, I wonder if you guys are thinking GW2 is not fun enough to subscribe. or does monetary system have nothing to do with fun?
I want your opinions cuz if people are playing GW2 not because it’s fun, but because it’s soso, but free(after purchased at first), it sounds a bit sad
I think your feelings are totally normal about the best of games. You can’t do the same thing forever and find it entertaining (ok maybe there is 1 thing ). Anyway, play something else Archeage is free, SWTOR is free, Star Trek is free, there’s all kinds of things you can goof around in, just don’t waste money on them. You’ll come back, something new may be out, and you’ll have fun again. Even in games people subscribe to like WOW, many people play the new content, and unsubscribe until an expansion.
The map being square does not really affect my immersion or enjoyment of the game one way or another.
I respect it doesn’t change your experience, unfortunately it is a thorn in the side for many. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on other games (FFXIV, map was even worse)(Archeage, map was great and a reason I was excited for it and sub’d) seeking a different experience (not solely because of the map) that could have been spent on GW2. It’s a relevant discussion and does impact people’s overall experience. It’s almost immediately noticeable to anyone who has experienced something better, and when you play something else after.
Never played WoW, can you jump/climb literally everything you can see? Are there jumping puzzles and hidden nooks/rewards for playing like a goat on a mission to break the map?
I’ve always thought the terrain of gw2 is amazing, the free roaming and lack of invisible walls is a huge plus. I played TERA for about 10 minutes recently, walked into four invisible walls and uninstalled it.
I wouldn’t recommend playing wow anymore for other reasons, but you should install the free trial so you can see what we mean. The way the map functions is excellent. as another poster mentions Archeage is also a good example, also free if you want to see what we mean. As you point out exploration is important in GW2, imagine GW2 with the map mechanics of Archeage or WOW, would be amazing. It’s baffling why its not there in any form really.

This always bothered me about GW2. They made all the zones instanced and artificially connected them. Imagine if it was more natural and seamless without any zoning.
Yeah, i know GW1 had portals, but that’s hardly an excuse to make a world non-seamless.
WoW kinda spoils a guy that way, does it not? :\
Even FF14 doesn’t feel nearly as ‘boxy’ since the transition points feel more natural than hiding some portal into a cubbyhole of a zone. Half the time, I can’t spot the map transitions, which should definitely be more clearly marked.
This is the thing that bothers me most about this game, people pointed it out (some even refused to play) because it was so obvious. I think the OP has a point, this is a very rookie effort at an open world. WOW has it done right, even though they did have to give in to the occasional portal/invisible wall. The world in WOW is much more natural looking and feels natural in its play, and it’s a 10 year old game.
I’d like to see some effort at this, even if it’s a transition scene as we port. Cant we take a cable car like a ski lift into a new area or something?
If you like gaming, don’t get a mac. Your going to be disappointed. I’ve been there, I feel your pain. The sooner you get out of that closed marketing system the better.
FFXIV was fun on the console, sometimes. If I was goofing around questing or crafting, fine. However, if I needed to really play or do something difficult, I had to get on the PC. There was just no substitute for the performance, ability to see all the details, and the controls.
I think it’s definitely time to mix it up, there is a danger this game becomes nothing but zerging and grinding. That’s not a good alternative to raiding.
I don’t see what the problem with the screenshot is to be honest, anyone who has a teleport skill can get caught in the stairs, as it glitches out ( we call that a bug ) weapon skills that throw you forward such as some of the GS skills can also cause this,
The easiest place in WvW to replicate this bug ( which has been reported several times ) is in Veloka Tower in EBG, i tried to use blink up the stairs and it put me into the stairs, there was no way out other than to WP out, this also happened when i used the Guard GS skill Leap of Faith, with the same results, both times this was reported ( probably 3-4 months ago now ) and the bug is still there.
Agreed, I was just trying to help and provide more documentation, and I got slapped.
Good thought but it was the inner wall it doesn’t change. There was a whole group of players, not one, the aoe was almost instant death, and our aoe hit several of them we could see the numbers. SM didn’t flip, they made about 7-8 unsuccessful attempts to take it, and couldn’t get in because of our arrow carts. Then “that” happened, and suddenly our arrow carts were all getting aoe’d.
I just read all the rules as recommended, I found this informative: “The forums also furnish a place to report game bugs directly to the developers and support team and, when needed, to follow up on account or support issues.”
I appreciate the feedback, however I wasn’t told I used the wrong forum, I was told I was disrespecting other players. I can’t even identify the players, how can I disrespect them? I just don’t appreciate being told I’m disrespectful, and a poor customer that needs to be sanctioned, because I took the time to report “something” (I won’t identify it) since that would be disrespectful. I would like to think they appreciate being told about issues with documentation in an appropriate manner?
Here is a screenshot of me playing WvW defending inside of SM. My previous comments about this picture in the bug forum got my post deleted and gave me a forum infraction. So be warned, do not say anything about this picture, do not describe what you see, simply view it.
I bring this up for discussion in the spirit of constructive feedback. How can one provide feedback about what is plainly in front of ones face, if said feedback is simply deleted and the reporter scolded? I hope Arenanet reconsiders is stance on listening to paying players in the future.
I understand the mini and carpet are not consumable. I’m arguing for a custom slot or 2, not exactly as the op suggested but better imo. I also enjoy the minimal ui, and I’m sure the developers are proud of it, it’s great. It needs 1 or 2 I can set up myself. I don’t want 3 more hotbars or any such thing. I think it’s important because they encourage us to have all these usable things in our bags, and they sell them for money. They are less enjoyable because [open bag, hunt for item, select, select from action bar] is much less enjoyable/spontaneous/user friendly than [click].
This thread is a little old but I really think it’s needed as well. I just want some slots, I don’t care if it’s 1 or 3, that I control. I want to put in my magic carpet, or mini, or blueprints. All these things they sell us I don’t use because the bag/select/select again from new action bar system is clunky.
Agreed. WvW is almost to the point of what you hope it would be. Was squealing and jumping in my seat seeing the huge battles. Not only that, in the middle of a huge battle I could actually focus on someone and kill them. So much more control.
Server is still struggling it appears, but giant improvement.
Just have titles appear (under names) on whoever you have selected at the time. That way you can only ever see one title on the screen no matter how many players are around.
In fact this would even help with identifying your target in a crowd a little more.
This is the title solution, I can’t appreciate the titles of 40 people charging anyway.
Yeah shorter names are in order now that we can see them thank goodness. Alternative to color could be abbreviated server, like everyone uses anyway. SOR [tag]
Things are way better in wvw, and server lag is not a new issue. Server always died in major battles, i.e. 3-way SM cluster #$%&
I was working on map completion in Black Citadel when i entered the stockade to get the point of interest it wouldnt let me leave i had to teleport and cost me silver. It has done it in every instance except Ash legion headquarters.
I had the same bug, every instance was a trap and required a waypoint. Really frustrating and bizarre.
I go bunker build 0/0/30/10/30 I mentioned before but I decided after tons of experimenting our damage will not equal other classes so you might as well last. I play survivor, and as such I’m basically utility and some dps.
Not so sure upgrade is working, fortify on SM was ordered 6 hours ago before server crash.
The experience is really bad, lag is huge, dragons barely function, skills barely function if at all, it’s a ridiculous and meaningless encounter. Not being angry man, just want anet to know it’s not just laggy.
Came back up, and we lost all in progress upgrades like fortify on sm, waypoints at keeps, and sentries and hyleks and ogres reset.
Update: appears our upgrades are going but the progress bar is gone

“Game client is unable to access the log in server…”
Do you belong to a big guild? I think you should have to pay a tax too when you want to enjoy some new content.
Or how about this… since I won’t get to enjoy the new content AND the new rewards for at the very least 2 weeks (if I am willing to cough up gold and time to grind for it)… you should pay my tax for me when YOU get to experience it for the first time and get your guild only rewards.
Hey… it’s only 78 gold and your guild is big… shouldn’t be too much trouble for all you guys to raise that much for me during the next two weeks while im off stuck in a dungeon all day grinding gold to pay my new content taxes.
I’m going to start working on this, how to play the game without playing the game…? Sort of zen-like.
I’m gonna move my Guild Wars 2 icon to a less convenient spot on my start menu if Anet doesn’t resolve this, whatever this thing is we haven’t seen yet.
Sorry but if your guild is 5 man, thats a group not a guild, there does have to be some restriction. we cant have every small guild dropping events endlessly.
Oh I’m sorry, I thought our guild was a real guild since we have a bank and an emblem and everything. Thanks for clarifying that a real guild is made up of 5+x people!
Your absolutely a guild, but I think players want, and mmo’s have always provided, content that simply requires more than 5 people.
Gw2 is not the same as every other mmo, at least it wasn’t when it came out but more and more they are turning it in to the same old game that has been out for years.
My rl friends guild was excited for this there have only been 4 of us left playing for a while now. We are still able to do everything in game on our own but doing the same things day in and day out gets old ( especially with terrible rewards) so we thought we might finally have some reason to log back in but it really doesn’t look like it.
It’s not like every other mmo, but it still follow the principles of the genre, that is large numbers of players completing objectives. A corvette is not like every other car, but has wheels and gets you place to place.

Art of War is WvW oriented. I thought the goal was to bring focus to PvE. Would it not make more sense to use something that was PvE oriented not WvW to be able to do these Guild Missions? This makes no sense what so ever.
WvW is a pve/pvp romp without much regard for balance, it’s not pvp. I can not beat other players and take a tower, I have to contend with npcs and objects. The pvp in the game is clearly walled off with a separate zone with separate gear, maps, ways to score points, and if I recall skill function at times.
They have only used Guild Bounties, one of 5 Guild Missions, as an example. That requires rank 5 AoW.
There are 4 other guild missions:
- Guild Trek
- Guild Challenge
- Guild Rush
- Guild Puzzle
They could all be in different tracks. They could all be tied to the AoW track. We don’t know.
However, ALL that we know is that 1 guild mission is tied to AoW rank 5.
It’s not a example, Guild Bounties is the first guild mission that we will have access, it’s on the Colin says it on this article aswell what Anthony replied in this topic
Thanks for the article link, that makes it a bit confusing, but again we really don’t know much, for instance what “5 zones.” Stating it is immediately available though is probably off base. I still don’t have an issue with the system at this point, but perhaps confusing public statements.
I’m reading through these “concerns” guys and I don’t know, I just can’t agree. After a decade of MMO’s I’m a little burned out on these kinds of complaints. If you don’t like goalposts, why are you gaming? I feel as though many wish their game was like a dvd, where you can boot up, pick your scene, and start playing with nothing to strive for or achieve.
I feel Anet handed you an unprecedented toolbox to achieve your goals in game, with the ability to join multiple guilds, shared xp, shared loot, guesting, gems, and more. And really, if your running a guild and have had an unlock staring you in the face for 6 months and you ignored it because you didn’t think you would ever want it, I guess you made a bad call?
As for the concern they are making you do something you don’t want to do, games are loaded with those. I did not particularly want to run through the rabbits to get my xp, but I did because I set myself the goal of max level, and I knew I would have to do things I would not always want to do. On reflection, running though the bunnies was a fun kind of pain in the a@#. Do some wvw, get your but kicked, explore a little and have some fun kitten
After almost two decades of MMOing (for whatever thats worth), your post is a little off base.
I love goalposts, but as opposed to making us hit a grand slam, how about they let us get a single first?
There are smaller guilds, and I’m certain they realize they would probably never be able to do all the Guild Missions, but when your entry point is an upgrade 5, well, don’t get perplexed when folks raise an eyebrow.
I guess making the entry point at say an upgrade 2 with smaller missions that helped you level, would be too much development time? Or perhaps theres a buck to made in an upgrade slot a lot of guilds haven’t worked on, especially when you announce the requirement a week before you release it.
Greetings to a fellow 3 decade gamer. How do we know it’s an entry point, perhaps this one mission is a elite final mission? What if the targets are in wvw, then it makes perfect sense. And what of the alternative, what if every guild mission was immediately available, and everyone plowed through them in a weekend, what would be the result of that? I’ll see it, find out how it works, play it, try to meet their goals, and then decide if it was a bad idea with actual information. This is not a game purchase decision, I already have it.
*logs off, boots up pong

This is a critical point, most people aren’t even sure what they are complaining about.

Had the same problem, patch loaded, everything internet related working fine, can’t get in. I saw this thread, restarted my computer, and I’m in. Never had to restart after a game patch, but there it is…?
Trait says “Apply camouflage when you are dazed….”
However, my pet is receiving this benefit instead of me rather frequently. My pet vanishes, mob seems to deaggro. Not helpful in pvp obviously I don’t care if my pet vanishes when stunned.
Definitely needs a separate instance and queue. Totally great idea, doesn’t belong in scored maps
I am traited 30 into BM and need my pet damage, but frequently and randomly, my pet will not attack objects that are hostile and I need to attack. Even more frustrating my damage is condition damage, which of course won’t do anything on objects.
Another ranger and I were attacking this champion who was in the water. When we stood on land we could attack it, and out feline pets swam in and attacked as well. If we went into the water, our “water” pets refused to attack at all. Back to land and felines ran in. I’m guessing the champion was bugged to register as on land but could be attacked either way? Overall, it was odd and buggy appearing at the very least.
Is there anything funnier than “I want to give you money but I can’t” as a consumer experience lol
