I’d say people run meta cause they aren’t bright enough to create their own or are too lazy to go through the testing to create a good build, or maybe they just don’t see synergy between different skills. I personally don’t run meta some times as it makes your opponent a hard time as they don’t know what is coming. For example, lux fortuna, runs a smoke screen on thief. He throws some teams off as they don’t know how to counter all of the blinds.

The screech in LOTR hurts peoples ears… that’s freaking awesome. Ideas anyone? I dont even play Necro and this excites me, hope it lives up to what the trailer shows!
Hello friends, my friend and I are starting a new team and are looking for 3 members.
To start I’d like to tell you a bit about ourselves. We are a hardworking and commited group, and strive to create a very tough environment for our competitor’s to play in. We have both had experience in the team and tournament environment in participating in the past ToL, and Aspect Gaming events as well. I play DPS Medi Guard (GS S/F), anything Ele, S/D thief, and shoutbow warrior, and my mate plays pretty much anything in the book, but is wanting to play Shatter Mes for the team. We both have Champion titles in our respected classes, and have 2,000+ games on our mains alone, and have been ranked on both the leaderboards, team (Lower 300s) and Solo (LOL)(Low 400s).
Now, our guidelines for joining are somewhat strict, but we would like to be competitive right away. We require good knowledge of your chosen class, we need you to know rotations pretty well, not perfect, but atleast know them. We would also like to see a champion title in your chosen class, but that isn’t really enforced. We need you to definatley have TS, NO EXCEPTIONS, with a clear microphone to speak into. We also will require you to have past team and tournament experience, whether it be the ToL, or just PugQuest weekly’s. Most of these will be heavily considered when choosing people for the team.

Magnetic Aura and stuff with mesmer is so funny. Get an ele friend to use it while you do your scepter auto attack. With the auto attack, on the 3 attack it will clone, but you can reflect it to create a clone of your enemy. Now to the fun part. Get your ele friend to pop magnetic aura and then quickly go into Tornado. It will clone the nado, and own everyone…tis hilarious. You can also do this with Warriors Rampage, and Necro’s Lich… Have fun
I doubt it will be sword as it brings nothing new to the table.
Seems like they were testing something using the dagger/dagger style as a kind of template. The sword abilities from what we saw are nearly identical to them. I can’t imagine them being that absolutely uncreative.
Plus, one of the data mined moves is called ‘Cone of Cold’ aka a frost mage spell in WoW….that’s not even a clever placeholder. We already have a “cone of cold” anyway, that being the 2 skill on ele’s dagger.

So I decided I wanted to do one solo queue for the night. Turned out that everyone in there were good people. Not like good at the game, but like good people. Everyone was having a good chat in map chat, no one was complaining, and everyone said gg at the end. That made me so happy…this needs to happen way more :/

No offense, but this is not a new system or original thought at all. This has been brought up, and even by me a year or so ago although Im not sure if it was on this forum or not. What they really need to do is make a way that people can get something out of getting rank 80. Yeah you get reward boxes, but lets be honest, those really dont cut it.
I feel like survivability is going to go up for this update, as long as you don’t go full glass cannon, which of course you can, but whatever… If you go into Crit Strikes and Trickery like usual you’ll have a whole line left. IMO the best option for the last line is going to have to be shadow arts. The healing while in stealth, and Condi removal is going to be way to useful in pvp situations for staying alive. Using this and mix and matching your armor in WvW will create one heck of a good build. Saying this, an offhand sword would be awesome, and maybe Im the only one, but a rifle really doesn’t seem very theify if you ask me. Every wep set has some kind of mechanic that would allow you to escape of mitigate damage and I fail to see how a rifle could accomplish that. Im not bashing the fact that having a rifle would be good a bad, Im all for it TBH, but I just fail to see how it fits the class
Well as we have seen with this game before… just because in a normal MMO a sword is a melee wep, doesnt necessarily mean that in gw2 is it going to be a melee one. Food for thought really.
Am I the only one that would love to see some kind of elite that allows us to move really quickly like the “One with Air” trait, with added stuff of course. Like the trait could be like

Focus all your energy into the art of Storm Magic. Become the wind, and obtain super speed, quickness, fury, and all Air attunement spells have a lesser CD.
Super Speed: 150% movement speed
Fury: 15 seconds
Air attunement CD’s reduced by 75%
This would be really cool, allowing the Elementalist in pvp to get from one point to another quite quickly, but it would also give the player the bursty side that it seems everyone wants. This could be balanced by making attacks blockable, and the player susceptible to condi’s, aka Chill, Knockdown, Fear, etc. The CD lowering could be only used if we stay in air attunement meaning if I start the elite, it puts me into air attunement, if I go into fire the effects ware off even if I go back into air.
This just sounds like something that we need, and allows us to get something thats better than a dang flame sword or minion…discuss!
I was on HoD and it was a ghost town… I transferred to Yak’s Bend in T2 about 2-3 weeks ago and I love it. You should look into T2…Im not sure why someone in their right mind would transfer to a ghost town for good wvw

Hey Hey brah, like I always say, “If you hate it, play it”. Thats how I became an ele and I love it. If everybody played this way we would all be eles and no one would be OP
Well I’d have to agree with this OP. I’ve played with the ele since a month or 2 after launch, and I don’t see that the class is the problem (Well I don’t see a problem at all). I may be a noob or something, but Ele doesnt kill everything it comes in contact with. Like I said it may be just me or something, but a good Necro and a good Engi, beat me more than half the time. Some peoples idea’s of a games balance as “everyone is just as good as one another” is NEVER EVER going to happen. MMO’s balance is never to say this class can beat every class and die to every class just as easy; that would be literally impossible to create. People are always going to be angry and call a class OP just because they themselves cant beat that certain class. It may be them (skill wise), or it may be that their class cant handle so many conditions, or so much burst at one time.
So on my ele, I personally feel that I can’t handle a huge condi burst… yes I have condi clear and such with cleansing fire and when I change to water attunement, but thats it. If you use all of the CD’s then you have no more condi clear. I can handle burst very well, because after the burst I can just heal up and I’m all good and such. Well by now you are probably wondering where Im going with this. My whole point is that every class has their weaknesses, and every PERSON has their weaknesses, mine being Conditions.
With D/D Ele, I would think as most people think; Celestial amulet is what makes it powerful. In my opinion is the healing power above all else. Water attunement and Evasive Arcana depend mostly on the Healing Power in your Water Trait Line and whats in the Celestial amulet. I’ve tried running D/D with a zerker amulet, and while it works pretty effectively, it’s no where near the power of what a Cele D/D does. This same concept of the celestial amulet is present in testing with other builds, but in a reverse way. With fresh air, your whole idea is to kill your enemy with a quick and fast burst, which isn’t obtainable (kind of) with a Cele amulet, only with a zerker amulet. That’s not to say people still dont use Evasive Arcana, and Water Attunement for healing; people always will.
Now in no way am I saying go and remove healing power completely from The Water trait line and cele amulet, but what I am saying is maybe lower it. This also applies to Engi’s as well. Most people complain about these two classes ability to stay alive, because of the Cele amulet, and that’s true. What I think, once again, is it’s the healing abilities these two classes have; Elementalist with their water attunement, and evasive arcana, and Engi’s with the Healing turret blasts. Try fighting a Engi and tell him/her to not blast their water fields at all and then come back and complain. Without utilizing the blasting ability Engi’s aren’t very sustainable and hard to beat.
Simply put, Cele isnt the problem, builds arent the problem, classes arent the problem. Healing Power is the OP part of these builds, in every aspect you look at, and Engi’s and Ele’s are being targeted because they are the only class capable of blasting said water fields themselves and or applying huge amounts of heals in a short amount of time.

With the new additions we will be seeing here in the near future, I would like to voice my opinion on a thing that should’ve (IMO) been added a long time ago; a reset button for your rank. Like me, some people like to see how long they can keep a perfect score in wins or just a really good W/L. I can’t have an amazing W/L because I have let friends when they are over, play on my account, and also when I was a noob I only queued team queue cause I didnt know what it really was, therefore I have a lot of loses. After a while the loses get out of control and you can’t really get those back in any way. I think the addition of a reset button for your ranking on the new leaderboards should be possible. To keep people from resetting all the time, maybe you could add a time frame after you reset that you couldnt reset again… maybe a week or so?

- Gadget – Air-Strike – allows you to mark a large area with a ground target which will begin a 10 second countdown. When the countdown is over an air strike is launched dealing massive damage over a large area.
This would be cool, but as an added twist, if the engineer is caught in it, he is downed, therefore it couldnt be used to keep someone off of a pointRanger
- Shout – Stampede – Calls five of your pets forth to assist in battle for 45 sec (randomly chosen from your kitten nal of acquired pets)*Traited with some of the Beastmastery skills, this would be OP with some of the skills you could activate with it. *
Thief
- Trick – Heist – Gives the Steal ability a zero cooldown for 20 seconds, and causes Initiative to regenerate 50 percent faster for the durationOP, dont need to explain….
Warrior
- Shout – On your Feet – Raises 5 downed allies in a 20 meter radius and grants Regeneration, Protection, and Retaliation to all who were affected.Banner
Guardian
- Spirit Weapon – Storm of Blades – Surrounds you in many spirit daggers that grants Aegis (every 10 sec) and Retaliation, Protection, and Regeneration for the duration. Activating the skill again causes several of the blades to shoot forth as a ranged attack that causes burning and does significant damage.Really cool idea

- Arcane – Supernova – A powerful pulsating blast of arcane energy that deals very high damage and triggers a blast finisher every 5 seconds for 25 secondsSame idea as Engi

- Manipulation – Twist of Fate – Allows you to first set a ground targeted “destination portal”, then target up to 5 enemies with a ground targeted “Trigger Portal”, instantly teleporting the targeted group to your “destination portal” and causing Blindness, Chill, Confusion X 3, and Cripple.Could potentially be game breaking really, adjust it to maybe 1 and it’ll be fine
Necromancer
- Spectral – Nightmare – Causes Chill, Confusion, blind, cripple, poison, and Torment to any enemy that gets within 20 meters of the Necromancer for 30 seconds. Remaining within the radius stacks conditions. At the end of the skill’s duration, a Nightmarish blast fears all enemies within range for 8 seconds and triggers a blast finisher.

I don’t think they should be reset every 2 weeks. We need to have a WoW type leaderboards where you make a team and you get rating for that team (team queue) and those teams will get special titles, or armor. For solo queue they just give rating for yourself and base it off of played games, your rank, and the people you play with. It should be set into seasons like wow and be reset maybe every 1-2 maybe 3 months.
For he ranger elite it wasn’t suppose to be 100% bonus is was suppose to be 200% more damage so 300% total.

I like being vocal on TS, feedback and criticism, but no drama. I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I’m looking to play with competitive teams. I can play d/d, d/f, and staff at a fairly high level. 1. Downed mode, like someone above me said, is all strategy really and can create really really intresting gameplay. If you down someone off a point, you can leave them taking a person out of the fight for 30 seconds to a minute, which can turn a match in higher tiers of play.
2. What pvp game doesn’t have stuns or cc’s? Stability? Dodge? Invuln? Tele? Stun-Break? Try playing a game like WoW and playing against a 2v2 comp with a Mage and a Warlock and then come back and complain to me about stun locking -_-.
3. Mesmers, after they run out of invis’s they are soooo easy to kill, really even if they have invis’s still up. Thieves with their teleporting are really not difficult to kill either. Force the fight around where their port is if you can and the issue with them going invisible… Once you play enough you can kind of guess where they are going to go based on where you last saw them, and just stun lock them to the ground till their invis runs out.
4. The skill component in pvp is overcoming your enemy and learning quickly how they roll their rotations so that you can beat them every time you see them. When you get beat by that engi 3 or 4 times in a row you usually see a pattern with how they do their rotations and you should eventually be able to outwit your opponent fairly easily. Also, rotations in tpvp is a BIG part of skill in pvp. If you don’t know how to 1+ someone at the right time, or place, you arent going to be successful at all.
Really just sounds like you just keep getting beat by Mesmers, and thieves and you are just mad really. Learn to play better, by obviously, well…. playing more

Nerfing blasting fire fields is never going to happens in my opinion. It’s not a prime mechanic of the game, meaning that you don’t really have to do it, it’s just a mechanic that helps you win a fight easier, but some lower end players may not know or may not care to blast fire fields. This being said anet would do something about the celestial amulet or strength runes before they nerfed blasting anyways.
Elementalist… You can heal on every weapon set really easily and when you get evasive arcana it’s even easier. Also, don’t play a class just because it’s good, play a class that you think is fun or you are going to hate this game
Yeah, I agree on most of this… I main an ele and I even think they need a nerf. The fact that I can stop playing a game for 3 months and come back and still own everything I come in contact with, may be the exception is Engi, is somewhat evident at how crazy ele’s really are. Given the last time ele’s where seriously nerfed they pretty much where the laughing stock of pvp, which imo are the thieves of spvp now.
The problem with Anet nerf, is just that… they nerf the &*$% out of the class that only needs miniscule changes. You remove 1 blast, maybe 2 and you have fixed the ele more or less imo. Changing the celestial amulet is just going to change it back to what it was, and no one used the celestial amulet in any serious build as far as I know back when the stats were worse.
Now with the Engi, maybe it’s just cause I’m a ele, but Engi’s are extremely powerful. The fact that you can just throw any build together and play pretty much play pretty effectively is just amazing. Fix turrets, or put a CD on kit swaps and you’ll have yourself a balanced class.
With the terrormancer I think you summed it up pretty well… just fix the amount of fears and it’ll be fine. The fact that Necro’s can just run in and fear you to death is just stupid… The fear mechanic doesn’t even allow the person the Necro is attacking to do anything, I mean you can pop stability and clear conditions, but you can’t really clear all of the fear + all the other condi’s they are putting on you effectively to where you can survive a good amount of time. Even if you can survive, they’ll out live you most of the time anyway.
Anyway, that’s my two cents really if you don’t like my opinions, I don’t care
