I agree, especially seeing as so many people couldn’t participate or wwere booted while participating [myself included].
I agree with the original poster, this was a terrible idea in my eyes made only worse by the fact that so many people wanted to participate but couldn’t or got booted while participating [myself included].
Not signed, I want more one-time events out in the open world, not instanced at-your-leisure-just-for-your content (there are several other games for that).
If I may twist your meaning, I DO want them to design the events differently in the future. Should run from fridays for 9 days with like 3-4 phases during that, so the beginning and end fall on the weekends. Have the phases be long enough so people can schedule for it easier if they want to. Halloween was good in that regard aside from the video sequence you had a day or more for each step.
Weekends are different for everyone. Today’s event happened on a Monday morning for me. When I got to play in the afternoon I was surprised to find an event happening on a specific overflow. When I eventually got there after an hour, followed by another hour or so, we got booted by a new build. I missed out.

Booted from the Ancient Karka event due to new build. Never got the chance to do it.
Day 1, never got the events or NPCs to work.
Day 2, meh.
Day 3, never got to do the event because I was booted by a new patch while doing the event for first time.
Originally this update was a huge disappointment. Now my disappointment has turned to loathing. Kittens, so many kittens.
Fully support this. Ascended gear was the worst active mistake by Arenanet, although bigger mistakes have been made by omission.
There should be a way of transmuting multiple crystals into a sliver, and orbs into crystals. At the moment slivers are too rare [in my opinion] and a lot of people have lots of orbs and crystals laying around being useless.
Still happens. Had to Alt-F4 out of a match just now.
Fully support these suggestions. The ranger is currently broken and Anet is doing nothing about it. A Warrior is better than a Ranger in every single aspect, including and I might even go as far as to say especially in regards to ranged combat.
I’d just say a gift of cash would be easier, you can then buy the gems yourself. I don’t think it’s bad manners, because that’s the best way to get the gift he suggested.
I think he means other than the trading post. Or at least I would like to know where they come from. Random drop? Crafted?
Wasn’t aware of that. Changed the name, don’t consider it a petition, I would however like to see other people’s opinions and if they agree with me.
Maybe rephrase your thread, as it appears you want a penalty for destroying your opponents trebuchet, as opposed to more of a penalty for having yours destroyed.

Remove the focus on initiative from the thief? While we’re at it let’s remove Mesmer clones, Warrior Adrenaline, Ranger pets, etc.
The thing which frustrates me most about PvP is the auto-balance mechanic. Three out of five games in a row I was top or second scoring and was auto balanced to the other team and lost shortly afterwards.
Auto-balance should not be random, and given my experience, I wouldn’t be surprised if the formula was more likely to swap higher scoring players. I doubt that’s the case though, as that’s the complete opposite of what it should be.
It should swap the person coming last; the person who has contributed the least to their team, and who wouldn’t mind as much being swapped. If someone has joined one minute ago and been away from keyboard for half of that time, he should be the one to be swapped, not the person who is playing the game and helping his team seize victory.
I still think the volunteer system is a good idea, perhaps if you are balanced after volunteering you could get a glory bonus, similar to the top scoring bonuses you get at the end of the match. But if no one volunteers, the bottom scoring player should be the one to be balanced. Auto-balance is based purely on team numbers, not score discrepancy.
Please show your support here so that the auto-balance mechanic can be examined, as currently it is the worst part of many people’s Structured player vs player experience.
