Except its a knockback; and in any group you run with you will get kicked if you use a knockback on a mob that someone else is trying to melee.

I haven’t tested it but wouldn’t a well (or rather, badly) placed Air Blast knock mobs out of the range of Flame Jet anyway? So yea, so much for the added damage.

I propose that Rangers, Engineers, and Necromancers should ally together and fight against this discrimination! >.<

And then steal each others condition stacks? Hell no, the damage would suck and since ANet employees all secretly play warriors we’d be boned.

Never once needed that food for my warrior.

already sub-par classes

Hurrrrrrrr.

So what do you deem sub par, considering the thread was moaning about how this directly nerfed warrior.

Let me guess, Ranger ?

You were misreading me I think. I wasn’t getting at warriors being somehow nerfed by this, I was explaining why people would be/are angry at the changes. Their hamfisted approach affects warriors much less than, say, an Engineer who relies on many fast hits with Flamethrower to keep his health up. That is, a rather squishy class that is forced into melee range.

Engies are every bit as good at PvE and not nearly as squishy as people want to believe. Then again most people love to do all the damages and none of the tactical positioning.

Again havent had a need for food on my Engie either… Also theirs really no need to get in melee range with them considering grenade kit is amazing and out ranges rifles.

Grenades, huh? So, that one build everyone uses because its the least bad. Great design right there. No problems whatsoever.

Let’s give GW2 the same amount of years GW1 has been out, then compare content. That argument is moot. If you’ve run every path in every dungeon, beaten story mode, done every jumping puzzle, explored the whole game, mastered sPvP, done WvW, gotten your legendary and everything else, THEN and ONLY THEN have you completed all content in this game.

Amazing logic. If ANet made a dungeon that was literally impossible to beat we’d have content for all eternity!

Relying on food THIS powerful, and ANY of you expected it to NOT be fixed?

Fixed? Sure. It was too powerful, no arguing that. Fixes at the expense of already sub-par classes however with no feasible alternative…

Man, I can’t even imagine the overreaction if raids were announced, which are in every other single MMO out there. What the heck would your “small guild” do then?

People would point out, as they do now, that GW2 was never advertised or supposed to be “every other single MMO”. If I wanted raids, I could go back to that other major MMO which does that kind of content much better anyway.

The overreaction is frankly, hilarious.

Why did I have to do this? Because while there’s a choice of 9 options, 4 of them are so ludicrous (typically) that you just do the 5 that somewhat aren’t. Although I have no doubt the day will come where I don’t do the daily because I can’t find 5 that I will suffer doing.

My thoughts exactly when I saw that the pool is randomized. One day I’ll have to do Keg Brawl, WvW and some other stupid thing just to get my 5s and the Laurel. “Play your own way” indeed.

You’re forgetting the most important thing: In a year there will probably be 20 other, new currencies that give better stuff than Laurels do now.

I see so many negative topics around here, ofc it is good to note things that can be improved or added but it is also important to let you ppl know that your work on this game is very much appriciated! thats why i made this topic, thx for all the updates and thx for the most recent guild missions! it will make the game a lot more fun for guilds!

Because fixing issues that existed since launch is “hard work”, yea.

have you tried fixing issues in a game before? Surely you “must” know how easy it is…

If it takes 6 months to fix stuff like the flamethrower not hitting objects or various flat out broken traits then maybe Anet should re-think their approach to coding the game.

Warriors, others who end up taking hits for these guys! Hear me!
Don’t do it, let the mobs melt them! Pop those spy kits.

Efficient dungeon groups are made up of 4 warriors and 1 mesmer anyway so your argument is invalid. You can’t tank for anyone because there’s hardly anyone there to tank for.

The fact that they’re unused is exactly the reason they need to be improved. They need to be improved to the point where people feel its worthwhile to use them beyond novelty.

That’s what I was getting at. Fixing a trait that’s been broken since forever isn’t really an “improvement”, it’s a necessity. Turrets aren’t underused because of that one trait but because their overall design is bad. So, personally, I wouldn’t count the bugfix as a positive thing here.

Anet thx for all your hard work!

We’ve gotten pretty much nothing but buffs and a single, probably overdue, nerf. We even got a fairly big (for turret engineers) bugfix that they didn’t list. I’m not unhappy with this.

I just wish every listed change wasn’t something to do with Kits, except for Elixir U. Other skillsets need work, too.

Do people even use turrets? Because even with the fix, turrets seem… well, bad.

The current situation makes builds that would be powerful even without consumables a bit less powerful but it also destroys classes where pies make or break the build. Great.

Not a fan. My build relied on consumables with life leech and now it’s… well, maybe not entirely useless but certainly nerfed a lot.

E: Also I quit WoW because after a certain point there’s no reason to log in except for your dailies. So… Why exactly am I playing THIS game then?

You’re making quite a big leap of logic there.

We are talking about devs who can’t raise the bleed cap due to “bandwidth”. I wasn’t making a definite statement here, I just pointing out that some form of server-client shenanigan could be in place that makes items appear in huge stacks.

From constantly getting errors when placing items on the market too fast, for example. If you didn’t notice how incredibly slow and awful the entire thing is I don’t know what to tell you.

The TP being the way it is, maybe the few that trickle in are coming from your own server while the huge load that gets dumped out occasionally is the sum of all bags bought from different servers?

This makes no sense. The TP is global, period.

The TP, technically, is a mess and the items that get traded are still attached to characters on different servers. I wouldn’t be surprised if it can’t account for the steady stream of bought items from elsewhere on a specific account. So, instead of making a huge list of tiny stacks it wraps them up in larger bundles and only then sends them to the buyer.

You can argue about this all day but in the end, no class should require you pore over builds and stats for ages just to be on par with other the classes in the frigging game. Yes, Engineers can do a good job at whatever they specialize in but chances are some other class can do it equally well with less effort.

this is the play style i think anet intended for engineer and i’m glad, it’s unique and its fun, if you’re looking for simple or the less effort guardian would be a better fit, their skills are beautiful, traits just too perf but they are boring.. and people who play them lack the skill development engi/mesmer have, you rarely see a guardian and be like wow he’s really good ;D

What are you even babbling about. Hyperspecialization just so you can be almost as useful as a warrior or mesmer is not good design.

Engineers aren’t rare just because we suffer from lackluster balancing. Compared to most other classes they are also a very “involved” class that requires experimentation and thorough knowledge of what’s at your disposal, skill-wise.

Now compare them to GW warriors and weep.
