After about 10 years of GW1 and 2 being my only MMOs it caught me by surprise the first time I tried to log into another game and was told it was down for maintenance. Sure it’s not a big deal when it does happen (especially since I’m usually at work) but I have to admit I’ve often wondered why more games don’t use the same/similar tech to GW2 to allow them to keep the game running while they update.
It’s because ANet has a boss tech team and also because their server tech is a company secret.
While I do agree with you somewhat I must remind you that even GW1 had 10 classes. It should be easily achievable now especially with the staff/revenue in general and from the gemstore and from the revenue that can be created from the gemstore/gold prices e.t.c.
To be quite frank if it’s really not possible I’d say Anet is wasting some serious time and dosh somewhere, because we haven’t had any real balance patches or content other than the living story which in my opinion is underwhelming and frankly a waste of time considering it is not really the type of repeatable content that would benefit the game.
However say it’s really not possible to create a new class this expac, which I still say pffft. I would be seriously disappointed to see new elite specs but no new skills which are not elite specific, we would be left with the same stale meta-game and a new band-aid to cover it.
Currently the game isn’t as horrifically rage quit level unbalanced as some of the community are making it out to be, for a starters its an MMO for kittens sake, this isn’t CoD, you can’t balance an MMO like this, especially with such unique and intricate mechanics as GW2.
Not to mention that sPvP seems to be more un-balanced than it actually is by some of the community because it’s focused the intricacies and uniqueness around 3 nodes, which creates another unique mechanic which is mistaken by that community to be an un-balanced game.
Keep in mind though how much it takes just to MAINTAIN this game. ANet did a talk at GDC on their methods and just exactly what they do on a daily basis. And just to summarize it, it’s MASSIVE. Keep in mind too that ANet’s systems are designed first and foremost to be efficient without sacrificing quality or at least too much. Since they do not have a sub fee to fall back on, everything must be designed to work good and fast with minimum resource usage. How they do this is quite genius and they should probably get an award for it, but there you go. I can tell just their server tech alone is a guarded secret for a reason.
So when you factor all the work it takes just to keep this game stable and running, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised that when it comes to developing new content and deciding what they want to support, they need to be smart about it. And make no mistake. Each new piece of content is something new to fix. To maintain. To support. They can’t just toss a wheelbarrow full of money at anything that needs developing and fixing like ActiBlizzard can. No, when it comes to an MMO like GW2, feature creep is a real and dangerous thing.
Now, having said that, I don’t work for ANet of course. I don’t know what’s really going on behind the scenes. How much ANet makes financially in pure profits. (I do hope it is a lot. I don’t want to see this game die to WoW as well. Pls no.) And it could be that I’m overblowing ANet’s problems and load. But yeah. This is why I say no new classes yet.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
I think we get enough negative here. Let’s post everything that we love about this game. Bonus points if other MMOs don’t have it.
For me:
1. No sub fee.
2. Dodging.
3. Incredible GFX and aesthetic.
4. Interesting classes. (Hard to quantify. They all just seem pretty fleshed out in terms of their individual concepts.)
5. Trading Post.
6. Gold to gems.
7. Guild Halls
GW2 is the best MMO out there right now, forget its problems, visually and mechanically it is the most beautiful game out there and for that reason has the most potential. All of the points we make are easily achievable and would really throw the spanner in the works that I truly believe this game needs to be able to revive itself.
A new class though, I can’t say I agree with at this point in time. I think we need to focus on the classes we have now (which are a lot, let’s be honest) instead of just adding more. Also consider that for each new class we add, it’ll be more work for ANet when we finally d get around to adding more to the classes. Now instead of ten classes to create skills for for example, we now have one or three more on top of that. And not just skills. Animations… Armor… It all has to be recreated for any new classes we add.
But yeah. If there’s anyone that can compete with WoW, it’s GW2. This game is starting to near MMORPG perfection. It’s not really there yet, but it’s close. It’s so close. It just needs that extra oomph. Mostly though, it needs more gameplay variety in the classes, which can be achieved very easily by more skills in general.
I often see threads/posts asking for better balance. Rarely see any asking for balance to be thrown out the window.
Ben CroshawYou know how it is. Cows go moo, dogs go woof, and MMO players go the PvP is unbalanced.
^
Having said that though, no, I’m not asking for balance to be completely thrown out the window. Don’t be ridiculous. And even further, how many thousands of threads have we gotten of players wanting to see more skills in GW2? I’m not exactly beside myself here.
I hope you mean things you’d like to see in the third expansion. Whatever is going into the second one was planned long ago. At this point, the only decisions ANet can make is whether to postpone features/content for LS4 (for gameplay or testing reasons) or for a future expansion (because they aren’t far enough long for Ex#2).
It’s good to hope/wish for things; I just don’t won’t anyone reading the thread to be disappointed that “ANet isn’t listening” — they are; it just takes a lot longer to make things happen than most of us think.
Expansion 2… Expansion 3… Whenever. This thread is just a loose kind of wishlist for what you’d like to see next. I perhaps shouldn’t have even put expansion in the thread title.
Being able to choose would be a balancing nightmare.
As opposed to the current system which is more locked down than WoW. If I have to choose between somewhat balanced or locked into certain options, guess which one I’m gonna choose.
And furthermore, people played and are STILL playing Guild Wars. Why, if it’s so terribly unbalanced? The answer is two-fold. 1. People have too much fun combining skills and 2. The endless combination of skills and stats actually balances itself.
I don’t know why devs are SO afraid of a developing metagame. You can see a great example of this in the Super Smash Bros. Melee or current Project M scene. If you look at their tier history, you’ll notice lots of jumps in the tier list even though the character stats have remained totally static for years. Characters that were once thought of as useless going up the list due to someone finding a great use for the character.
Developers these days seem to feel a need to balance every single little thing that stands out and some just never ever leave it alone. I actually love ANet to pieces, but this it’s-too-unbalanced argument against having more skills and more options is SUPER tiresome. People want to be creative and have fun but too many others are afraid of an issue that doesn’t actually exist!
And I’m NOT saying that balancing things isn’t needed. But there easily comes a point where you’re not balancing anymore but nitpicking.
TL;DR – Give it to us anyway. Stop hamstringing the potential thousands of tactical options we could have.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
Some of those things, maybe in expansion number 3 (unless they have already been planned). Pretty sure new Elite Specializations are on the docket. I doubt much can be added to expansion number 2, as it is not that far off from release.
Good luck.
Well… Perhaps the biggest problems I can see for these suggestions would be for Guild Alliances (may require a rewrite of the guild coding) and the Guild List. (Calls to the server for the entire list may cause huge load problems.)
Put here all the things you’d love to see in the new expansion, from small changes to large additions.
Here’s mine:
1. MOAR SKILLZ – Seriously. They’re never enough. Forgo any new classes and bring on more skills for each class. Another thing that might be just as good would be to allow people to now choose which skills to use with their weapon instead of having them be a locked set.
2. More Elite Specializations – We only have one of them now for each class. Gotta have more of them than that!
3. “Inspect Player” option – Would show current skills, build, and armor/weapons. May be disabled in PvP. Also, have the option in chat that allows you to produce a link that will allow people to inspect you. 10 sec cooldown for the chat link to make sure it can’t be spammed.
4. Guild Alliances – Why were these missing? Bring ‘em back!
5. Guild Capes – These were also fun. I know they were having clipping issues with them in the past, but perhaps now they’re good to go?
6. Guild Banner Finisher – Downed players get a flag pole waving the guild banner stabbed into them. This finisher will only be given to a guild’s staff members.
7. Guild List – Would list all the guilds in GW2 with options to search through them. Guilds can now choose whether it is an Open Guild (anyone can apply to be a member, an Invite-only Guild (must be invited by a member) or a Closed Guild. (no new members can join, period)
That’s all I can think of for now.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
Only heard this from someone very recently but… There’s a secret in Black Citadel that will let you get into normally totally inaccessible areas. He was also talking about being able to get into an Ascalonian tomb using this secret.
And in the first Guild Wars, there’s a place in Ascalon called the Grendich Courthouse. It’s on the —- end of Ascalon which means no one really goes there so it’s mostly empty. And if you look around just a little, you’ll be greeted by this impressive view:
http://i.imgur.com/qspQjNl.jpg
You know, I spent a lot of time in Ascalon, and I spent a lot of time complaining about it, but funnily enough, I kinda miss it now. There were some pretty epic looking locations there in general and it did such a good job of looking so… Abandoned and desolate.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
It sounds to me like you’re conflating two different things. Logging on into the game and activity with the guild. I don’t see how the number of guilds you can join will stop people from becoming inactive in the game.
In GW, inactivity was pretty much a grudgingly accepted thing. In GW2 however, the inactivity problem is made worse by the fact that even if the members DO log in, they have more than one guild that wants their attention.
OK, let me tell you guys a REAL problem with guilds. Activity.
Guild Wars was notorious for this behavior. You would invite a member to join and everything would be great. For like a day or two. And then they would become completely inactive, forcing you to kick them. It was a waste of time for everyone involved, and a waste of money as well for the guild staff. Now, with players able to join multiple guilds, it seems there’s now even LESS incentive for other new members to actually participate in the guilds. Although, to be fair, restricting it back down to just one guild would be a little harsh. If I had it my way, I’d restrict everyone at two. And bring back alliances. I don’t know why they were dropped.
Of course, if you buy Heart of Thorns, you’ll get a free boost of any one of your characters all the way up to 80. But funnily enough, I’ve been hoarding mine for a while. How about you all? Have you used it? If so, do you regret it for whatever reason?
If I remember correctly, GW1 had Piken Square where people liked to socialize and screw around. So which place in GW2 would you guys say is best for that?
There’s also the fact that ANet has a custom-made launch client tailored to their needs which they can, of course, do whatever they want with. This is highly preferred since they don’t have to wrestle with somebody else’s launch program and payment portal and they have more than enough resources to maintain it and customize it to be better for both the client and ANet. The only disadvantage to this is of course a small sacrifice of convenience to the client but honestly, it’s definitely a sacrifice I’m more than willing to make as a customer for a secure, fast, and easy launch program and payment portal.
Desire: Living World Season 2 (Currently 20% off at 1120 gems)
Server: NA
Can’t believe I missed this and I can’t believe I have to pay for it but there it is. Not expecting anyone to grant this since that’s a crapload of gems but you never know.
I have tried looking all over for this but I can’t remember the exact title. I remember a lot about it though.
OK, so it was an old youtube video about how this one guy began to really love Guild Wars 2 and he started giving a lot of reasons why he got back into it and why one should give it another chance.
I think it started with him just walking around Divinity’s Reach and then he went over to the Sylvari starting area or just next to it and just began walking around there as well. He also finds and equips diving goggles towards the end of it. But that’s about it.
It wasn’t made recently (was made at very least two years ago) and I think because of that, youtube has pulled it from basic searches on guild wars 2. Because I’ve tried many phrases and keywords but I can’t find it. Hopefully someone here though knows which video I’m talking about. Sorry if this is a really strange request but the guy seemed to have some really really good reasons and I wanted to refresh my memory as to exactly what he said.

You know, I was gonna answer everyone’s concerns and points but there’s so much salt, sarcasm, and “LOL OP is dum” responses in here that I lost all ability to care. Nevermind.
It does, in a way. Log on, and open your contact list in-game, then click the online status dropdown box next to your name and set yourself to Invisible.
Then go play the game as you normally would. Players will not be able to whisper or chat with you and you won’t see guild messages appear in guild chat. Don’t party up with anyone and ignore any other players you may encounter. There you go; single player GW2.
Seriously though, why redesign the game from the ground up when you can already play the vast majority of the game alone? If it’s strictly due to a lack of a solid internet connection in your area, then I apologize—I know that struggle all too well, as I’m sure many of us do. If so, then you have my sympathies, friend.
This is indeed one way of doing things but it unfortunately still doesn’t answer some problems that a full offline mode would. While I do have a decent enough internet connection to play online, other people do not as you have mentioned, so that is also a problem.
-
I apologize to everyone who replied like an actual adult.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
I also think it might require more resources than one might suspect.
Hm. How so? The entire GW2 world and system file is already downloaded on everyone’s computer, taking up a nice 30 GBs.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
Massive MULTIPLAYER Online Role Playing Game
And so is the first GW, but 95% of the PvE is instanced. And in any case, this doesn’t tell me why it would be a bad idea.
Basically, this mode would put a player in their own totally separate instance from other players. It would be just like GW1 where it’s totally instanced around one player. They would still be able to chat to anyone they want to, but they wouldn’t actually see anyone.
I imagine this would be really easy to implement too and easier on the servers since the load would be just on the client now. This would also allow one to actually play the game without being connected to the internet. Accounts would sync as soon as the player goes online so any achievements and items are not lost. If the offline files used to store offline progress are lost, the system will simply revert you back to the state you were last in when you logged out. Also, this would of course, prevent people zerging all the mobs and having to wait for them to respawn back. (Although in fairness, GW2 handes this sort of thing pretty well.) And finally, it’s just kind of nice to explore the world by yourself without distractions from others in a kind of solitary adventurous sort of way a la Elder Scrolls or Myst.
The auction house and gem store though would not be available at all, and obviously, PvP matches of any kind with other players are also right out. Bosses which require more than one person to defeat will have to be scaled back or stripped out altogether. Or they could leave them in just as they are and bring in mercs to play with.
Now, there are two potential problems with this. 1. This MAY allow an exploit but I really don’t see how, the exploit being that if one could reverse engineer the code enough, they could go offline, alter the game file to give themselves whatever they want and then just log back in to sync. But the thing is, if they can already reverse engineer the code, there’s nothing stopping them from doing it online too so it’s kind of a moot point.
2. This will probably lead to lesser amounts of online players in the PvE world. But my thinking here is this. Does it really matter that much? It seems like most people don’t ever interact in PvE anyway. It’s been my experience that in any given area, about 90% of them don’t want to talk and interact and/or simply aren’t paying attention. So we’re probably not gonna see that much of a difference. Or it actually may ENCOURAGE more interaction now as, if the players are given a choice to be offline and undisturbed, the players that you do see online obviously will want to interact.
Ultimately, I think the pros far outweigh the cons. What do you guys think?
(edited by Arnox.5128)
Look, at the end of the day, no one can deny that going from GW1, which had a long time and a lot of expansions to build its skill list, to GW2, which had only a fraction of the GW1 skills was a huge shock for a lot of veteran players. People simply want more options. All there is to it. As to how exactly we should do that with GW2, I have no idea though.
They would just need to show the wardrobe screen for a character that’s not you.
And then imagine if people found out a way to glitch it into allowing you to change someone else’s wardrobe options too. XD
OMG, that would be so hilarious for a while.
I hate pve i love pvp. I hate pvp i love pve.
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Arnox.5128
The problem is A net operates on the view that PVP is the center of the game.
PvP IS and has always BEEN the center of Guild Wars, mang. As to PvE being balanced around it, sure it kinda sucks but it’s definitely not the end of the world.
Protip: Get the boxed version off amazon for cheap. Just make sure it’s new though.
It’s more about giving feedback than being harsh. I totally agree with being patient as ANet has plenty on their plates.
I love the guild halls, but it just feels so empty and lackluster with no ability to host events, or guild missions within the guild hall itself. Everyone uses it for quick and easy access to repair, merchant, bank, and once per day farm at the nodes.
Sure if the guildmaster is a creative person, he/she could come up with their own events, but with very limited tools at their disposal.
I also like the fact that they gave us increased the number of decorations to add to our halls in the last patch and I hope they are working on new and better features, but I personally haven’t heard much. If they are working on new guild features then that is great! I really hope to hear about them soon.
Like I mentioned earlier, guild missions really need a revamp. We’re still running the same missions as three years ago. I would love it if they gave us some degree of modular control over them, but that may be very far off in the future.
Welp, these are pretty much how guild halls used to be in the first one. Except now they’re much better.
How is it heavily striped down pray tell? You can do everything that isn’t tied to HoT. Yes you start with fewer character slots, fewer default bag slots per character and the restrictions to discourage it’s use as RMT burner accounts. But you have access to everything in the original game in terms of professions, crafting, dungeons, fractals, zones, etc.
https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/95982157-Account-types-Free-Core-HoT
There’s no map chat. You can’t convert gold to gems. You can’t access a whole bunch of the actual main content until you reach a certain level at least. You can’t whisper others unless friends. You can’t post on the forums. You don’t have full access to the Trading Post. You don’t get any daily login bonuses. Etc.
I’d say that’s pretty darn limited. And honestly, besides the aforementioned gold sellers which apparently I just learned don’t even use these accounts, I see absolutely 0 problem with them. They allow more players to try before they buy thus increasing the player count. ANet gets more money and we have even more people to meet and battle and play with. The active player count is the lifeblood of MMOs.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
There’s a lot of salt about f2pers but they usually seem to be accused of doing things that they’re not actually able to do due to account restrictions. Says to me the problem’s not with f2p but something else…
I think perhaps a lot of the salt mainly comes from people who’ve already bought the core game and think that the F2Pers are getting a free meal that they had to pay for in the past, even if the free meal they’re getting is just bread and some soup. That and/or there’s some regular ol’ classism going on here. XP
Fair enough. Thanks everyone.
So with two factor authentication, how exactly are accounts getting stolen? Or are you guys saying there are still a lot of people that don’t have that yet?
Who is “we?” Are you planning to buy the company?
Maybe I am. o_o
None of the gold sellers are F2P accounts.
OK, but do you have a source for this?
It seems like it’s doing more harm than good, what with all the gold sellers and etc.
If we do get rid of them though, anyone who already had a free account should definitely be grandfathered in for obvious reasons. They should be the only ones allowed now to have a free account.
So what do you guys think? Are free accounts worth this?
EDIT: Another option is to limit them a lot more or at least in a different way as to completely deny making trash accounts such as removing all abilities to trade with any others except, of course, NPCs.
EDIT 2: Yet another option is to remove the level cap and area restrictions but to disallow free accounts from chatting completely. No WTS channel even. Maybe only whispering to friends will be enabled.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
I think you guys are being kinda harsh.
For one, they just put out Guild Halls pretty much, and ANet’s got a LOT of stuff to work on besides them. Not to say that they won’t get worked on but you guys have to have patience. Another thing is, the private arenas are probably only really meant for 1v1’s or perhaps 4 player FFA at max. Now, according to Blaeys, ANet’s working on it. So again, gotta be patient.
Thanks again everyone!
Although, it’s funny because I would have thought guild halls/structured GvG/private arenas would have been some of the top things people are loving about HoT.
Thanks everyone! I’m probably definitely gonna buy it. I can’t believe no one else has an opinion on this though but OK. lol
Although perhaps those two opinions sum up everyone else’s opinion pretty much and nobody wanted to sound redundant? shrugs I don’t know.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
What do you guys think of HoT as it currently is right now? I haven’t played it yet so I want to know your guys’ opinion.
ANet probably took them out of the picture so that humans would actually be able to, you know, have actual threats against them now. Things get a lot harder for you when you don’t have a god to bail you out every time.
There have been some arguments though that even with the fewer skills that GW2 has, things still are not balanced at all.
Also, @OP: Keep in mind, even if we did have all those, you only have 3 slots for utility and a fourth for one elite skill. Leaving the five weapon slots.
You know… You guys didn’t have to do the event at all. With some of these responses, you’d think ANet put a gun to their head and forced them to do it. The event may not be very good at all but I hardly think it’s as bad as what people make it out to be.
And in any case, I thought it was, at the very least, fun to watch the Mordrem just crumble so fast under the heat of 40+ players swarming them and wasting all in their path.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
The game was designed to reduce the number of skills, to cater to more potential players as well as making it easier for the developers to balance.
But I did address this more in my post.
“But the problem is, with less options comes… Well, less options. :P Less needed creativity in builds. Less fun stuff that can be done. Anyone remember the 55 monk in GW1? I don’t think we may ever have a build as quirky and cool like that in GW2.”
Honestly, this was one of the maim selling points for me. I was sick of the crazy amount of skills in GW1, and that 90% of them where useless. Hole bunches of them was barely situational, or worked only in incredibly specific combos etc.
And I hated the entire MtG style “combo build” concept they had in that game. The reduction of skills was a large step forward for my part.
Well, it honestly sounds like GW1 just wasn’t the game for you. I know a lot of people who liked it because of the crazy amount of skills and customization. And also, I have seen a whole bunch of builds in GW1 and while it’s true that there are some popular skills, every skill had a use that you could take advantage of somehow. It may never really be clear to you all at once at all but with the massive range of builds I saw of GW1, it’s pretty darn varied.
But I do agree very much with increasing the amount of skills weapons have available to them and being able to choose which weapon skills you want in the weapons bar. Again, I suggested this in the OP.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
In GW1, party town was unofficially designated as Piken Square, I remember. Does GW2 have a similar place for fun shenanigans and tomfoolery with other players?
I’ve been doing a bunch of stuff lately in GW2 but the more I think about this game compared to the first one, I think one of the biggest things I miss from the first was the massive amount of skills even just one class would have available to them in the first game. And I know, it got to be a real problem in terms of balancing for ANet. But honestly? I think the skills inevitably balanced themselves out in the end since the competitive scene was ALWAYS changing. New builds coming out EVERY DAY.
It seems like, in GW2, for better and worse, someone can just easily, say, pull a standard issue bunker build off the ‘net for their guard, and do reasonably well for themselves. Or a dagger/dagger ele build. Now there are definite advantages to this kind of system GW2 has now. For one, I’m sure it’s MUCH easier for ANet to keep track of and balance. The second thing is that it’s friendly to new players. Anyone can see these builds and start using them immediately with little to no hassle.
But the problem is, with less options comes… Well, less options. :P Less needed creativity in builds. Less fun stuff that can be done. Anyone remember the 55 monk in GW1? I don’t think we may ever have a build as quirky and cool like that in GW2.
Now, I should say, I’m not a pro PvP player at all. By any stretch. These are just my observations. And my observations are… That we should have more skills for each weapon and a choice of which weapon skills we want to use for the weapon in hand. That alone, I feel, would greatly liven things up even more. But that’s just me.

dancing emote voices, especially asuran.
Thisssss. Most all emotes should be silent! With the exception of, like, laughing or other emotes with an expressly needed audio component.
The insipid and repetitive dialogue on many npcs. I would listen to the new warhorn all day long rather than hear that researcher at the reactor entrance telling me one more time how the reactor exploded and the something something did something something.
Also this. I really do appreciate all the little conversations you can overhear. But when you’re in the same areas over and over again, they start to get old. Not to mention that Scout camped outside the Black Citadel. “Hey. Come talk to me. Hey. Come talk to me. Hey. Come talk to me. Hey. Come talk to-” I already talked to you!!! Leave me alone!
My character making bad puns everytime I do something.
And this. No need for this at all. Or better yet, just turn the taunts/puns into an emote and leave it at that.
And you know, it’s not like the voicework is badly done at all. In fact it’s all quite good and really shines in all the cutscenes. But no matter how good the voicework is done, if it’s not played at the right moments, it will come off as grating no matter what.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
and for me its a pain to have stalker everywhere
You like it.
You can have your #3, it’s called combat mode.
And you see your ping in options.
It’s true, Immersive Combat Mode is there but it seems silly that I have to rely on third-party tools instead of it being an actual in-game feature though.
1. just ask/whisper the person friendly. you will be surprised how easy and friendly you get the skins shown! no need for that in my opinion
Oh, I don’t doubt that they would be kind enough to do that, but it’s a pain for me to have to ask and it’s an even bigger pain for them to ping everything. Furthermore, they may be away then or busy.
BTW, be nice.
- I hope this will not be implemented, mostly due to the abuse which this can/will cause (reading stats and kicking in dungeon paths/ lfg setup’s and so on…)
Suggestions to this point have been made over and over again and dismised by the community, Asking for just the exterior skin names will get you the name and it will enhance social speak in the game. If you really need to know what people are wearing fior group content use PING as add-on in LFG,- You can ping the individual traits now whichis a good step up from before, but most people still default to build editors to do so. I agree on this one, would like a build ping or link / build save/ build load
- I have no problems with the camera at all, but I have gotten used to all quirks.
- Ping is Shift+click on mini map and you can mark the normal map, shift will also place location names in chat box, shift and move will allow fro drawing on the mini map. seen by opthers and most often ignored. network Ping is located under F11 it will show you actual return times from A-Net (as stated by A-Net)
- Turn of your sounds: Problem solved. Don’t care about it tbh.0
1. Just make it to where you can’t check the persons gear during PvP/dungeons/all applicable modes. And in any case, if they’re really kitteny enough to kick you because you have bad gear, well they’re probably the wrong group to be playing with anyway.
3. Well I have too, but it’s bad for my right mouse button to keep holding it down constantly I’m sure. And also, it’s getting a bit annoying for my finger.
4. I was talking about response times from the server. Nevertheless, that is helpful too.
5. I’d really rather not. I’m just asking for a personal option to turn it off. Doesn’t mean you have to turn it off too.
(edited by Arnox.5128)
This list is some things that, I feel, would really benefit GW2 but should also be very easy to put in.
1. A way to, in PvE, be able to see what a player is using for a weapon and wearing as armor plus show what the miniature or outfit they’re using is.
2. In the original GW, there was a really easy way to share builds quickly in chat. But now, not anymore. Would be awesome to see again.
3. An option in the menu to switch the camera to a locked behind view mode. Basically, when enabled, the right button held down would then be how the camera operates and the cursor would then be locked to the middle of the screen and hidden. Holding down the right mouse button puts the camera back how it was. Or perhaps make this a key to toggle this on and off.
4. A small ping indicator somewhere.
5. An option in the menu to disable character voices during any dancing emotes. It seems a very small and particular thing but I find I really am not fond at all of the little cheesy whees and hums and stuff your character does during a dance. :P
I may add more later but that’s I can think of for now.
You get a new set of utilities (plus healing/elite) and one weapons-worth of weapon-skills if you take an elite spec, but that’s it.
Well, better than nothing I suppose…
