Character slots have no limit(iirc someone on forums mentioned having 40+ character slots and I’m myself running 25) and every backmule can provide up to 160 slots of inventory space (yeah, bit expensive to buy those backbag slot upgrades).

Cheap alternative is 100 slots space by using fractal equipment boxes – or 80 slots by using 15 slot bags.

I’ve pretty much all my costumes on Wardrobe character. ^^

YOU CAN’T SALVAGE TROPHIES. Are you calling basic Armor/weapon drops Trophies?? If so, DON’T, it’s needlessly confusing… There’s only one “Trophy” class of junk in this game, and that’s the Talons/BrokenClaws/Carapaces/Hoofs that comes off most wildlife that we can’t actually do anything with.

Poor little ilr still confused after his/her 6 months break.

There’s whole set of various “salvage items” under “trophies” category. Such as, “Clump of Ore” or “Worn Rag” that are easy to salvage due the fact they stack up all the way to 250.

And to those who disagree with my findigs with CSK/BSK, you’re free to do as you please. I trust my own data. I didn’t do those 2m+ salvages without checking that profit was there…

IIRC if you overbid, bltc-tp takes your money first as amount that you bidded and then magically returns the extra money to your inventory.

Done it few times by accident.

For 3 first legendaries, I made new toon and burnt those 200 sp from new toon. Clovers I made from my “main’s” skill points and from the extra I managed to gather with those toons that had hit 80 beforehand. For my 4th legendary I am also using new toon but for 5th and 6th I’m forced to “grind” skill points. Why? Well, I’ve already 8×80ies and I’m not really fond of idea of leveling up my mules or spvp characters…

Doing 5 fast dungeons a day gives steady progress. Cof1, Se1, Se3, Ta FF, Ta Up (Ac1, Ac3) are fast dungeon paths that can be done under 15 minutes each resulting stable income of skillpoints.

You might also want to concider crafting, in case your toon doesn’t have maxed out crafts. It’s bit expensive do armors/weapons mut JC and cooking are cheap and fast 20 sp in case you haven’t leveled them up. You’ll get levels and skillpoints even when you’re 80.

Anyway; If you don’t have all classes maxed out, I suggest doing “new toon” for bloodstone shard. It’s faster to go trough 150-170 skill challenges after hitting lv 65 than grind those 124 skillpoints by leveling.

Done it some 90-120 times while I was leveling my set of 8×80 but only with guildies, and always told about it beforehand. I usually ask from ppl if they want to swap for alts for exp if I know they’re middle of leveling progess of new toon.

Common courtesy is wait to 15-25% of boss health and swap to alt that was waiting front of dungeon so your party doesn’t have to wait extra time. Never be party leader if you swap, “never” swap 4 characters in same fight. xD

I vendor the top tier salvageable loot for cloth and leather. The lower level stuff can sometimes be worth it to salvage, but not the top tier stuff anymore.

Also, don’t bother with anything other than a crude salvage kit if you aren’t trying to get ectos or sigils/runes from something.

Actually, negative on this. I made test salvage sample of few thousand t6 salvages few months ago. CrudeSK gives you less orichalcum than basicSK hence you’ll end up losing few copper in value per salvage. Sub-t6 salvage I’d still suggest crudeSK.

I usually tell ppl that they must be joking and blaming bad rng for their “reduced” ecto/salvage and that (with master) you’ll end up usually around 0.9 per salvage in long run and larger sample size.

This time, however, I say that there is some truth behind this. Price of ecto “skyrocketed” from 17-18s range to 22-23s while there still appears to be plenty of cheap rares in tp.

So, tested myself for curiosity; 45/100 salvages so half from what it used to be.
The interesting part; I didn’t score even once more than 1 per salvage. Before it was possible to get 1-3 ecto but this time I gained only 1 every now and then.
I used master salvage kit.

So, unless someone noticed something different, chance to get ecto is probably same but instead of 1,2 or 3 we get only 1. This explains why it dropped from 0.9 to 0.45 (in my case) because (1+2+3)/3->2 and ,9/2 -> ,45.

Hum. Two logical explanations come to my mind in few seconds..

1. It’s PVT. Molten Facility offered similar exotic stat combination for cheaper price, thus reducing demand which should lead to drop in price.
2. Someone found recipe and started offensive in pricewar.

Mithril is steady 35-36 atm. Drop was likely caused by (1) salvage monthly (2) new (temporary) dungeon with mining nodes (3) molten pickaxe to dig up all that free mithril while you’re goofing (4) add little speculators trying to make profit from flipping..

Like all dungeon recipies, it drops from boss and not chest. Bosswise, I’ve under impression that any of the bosses on specific path can drop recipie but I’ve only had luck with final bosses myself. (hotw1, coe1 – seen drops of cof1 and se1 on final boss as well)

For Ta speedrunning, you might want to condier making LFG posts after you’ve mastered it. TA is decent income goldwise and you might get lucky with onyx.

Most efficient way; Do full TA daily with few characters. You’ll get full tokens which’ll make you happy happy once/if you finaly get that recipie.

If there is profit to be made in easy way, masses will do it untill there ain’t profit. Then they’ll continue doing it bit longer.

Currently we’re still effected by “free” skillpoints that came from SAB that effected on dust/fine material prices.

There are profits to be made in promotion market even this day – you just have to know what to promote. (40-50s per skillpoint, on averange, based on my personal data)

Only problem with “legit” gameplay I recall from my f79 runs are with dredge fractal. Takes some effort to kill both champ and all those drege from carrier at same time, so taking one side out of equation is something I tend to do first – against “legit” gameplay. Dredges on bomb route are also depressing if you choose to fight…. In this particular seal fight, I’d have to breath deep and just do it. Takes slightly more time, but not at all undoable. Fight in hallway, focus on one side (by keeping them in combat and prevent them repairing seal) and move to the other side after you’re done. Have 2-3 players be dedicated seal hitter if team compostion would flavor some players being still (thieves, guardians) isntead of forcing everyone run. Usually nobody past 40 manages to “fail” by killing all chanters thou… Common tactic, not so much of a bug (such as standing on carrier wheel or permastunning archdiviner/mossman/ettin or pulling dredge champ off the room and ignoring his adds or 99% ress or ranger ress or orb ress or kiting asura or standing inside old tom’s model or wiping to get extra crystals for tom or…. Should the list go on?)

Other than that, it’s l2(team) kitten ue. If you don’t want to l2p, you can l2glicth to make it easier. Third alternative is to complain on forum. (I do that myself too, dang this stuff was breeze before food-nerf.)

Sounds like someone haven’t run dungeons enough for his JC. Or crafted for profits. Or crafted for forge. Or crafted shiny potions with artificier.

Ascended weapons and armors will come in few months, after they’ve released infused versions of neck/accessories. I’m keeping my thumbs up for obsidian armor.

3. Infused → Shiny (250 ecto)

500 “fractal levels” translates to 166-125 full runs so please, that’s something most of us had completed before january patch.

Just count your pristine fractal relics VidGhost to know how many dailies you’ve done and stop complaining. 121 dailies, 6 skins, thousand+ “levels”/250+ full runs (lost track in february..) Then again, having leveled multiple toons to 40+ personal reward level range I must yet be inferior to your knowledge.

Also, I was talking to OP. I don’t care really about you VidGhost. He has double of my luck (11 for 113 dailies)

Anyway, I’ll just do few dailies now and then to get myself full stack of pristines. Will stop “farming” skins after that.

I’d like to point out that people seem to forget that daily = daily. You can do full tier and receive only 1 chest from it as long as you do all progress runs of that tier during one day. So 10→20, while not often done with 1 chest, may usually be only 2 or 3 (daily)chests. I remember when January patch came and I did 5 times f28 in row for pugs to get my guardian from f16 to f21 since guardian seemes so much more fun than ranger for higher levels. ^^

I dislike rng to, but your luck ain’t that bad. Concidering I’ve myself gained only 1 skin per 20~ dqs…

You could exclude price of certain precursors that have gone up but this can be easily explained how undervalued they were before. Sure, profit for those who speculate but not really good meter of inflation.

Buying gems to get gold itself… It could be easy way to afford your new lv 80 toon full set of armor. For now, it seems, full set of heavy zerger+gs goes under 40g. Could you tell me how much price of this has gone up during last month? I don’t see much inflation there… At first sight it seems that prices have gone down… You spend ten or twenty bucks to buy gems and get yourself lazy way out gearing – sounds more reasonable to me than someone buying full legendary.

Dun dun dun. Price of luxury goods will go up as long as there is demand for them at those prices. If they stop going up, that’s because price has hit sweetspot. As long as gold is easy to come by for “heavy farmers” with their 5-10g hourly income prices will likely keep adjusting upwards (So, by your math, 200-400g for certain rare dyes if you take one week worth of work and put that to farming) and as long as there is “easy” supply price will adjust downwards (such as sPvP for dyes, collecting nodes for dyes, crafting for dyes) that will have its own impact on other stuff.

You’re right that price of legendaries is silly high. But again, time you spent making one is silly high as well. Why reward of such work should be worth any less? Doesn’t have to mean inflation.

In fact, you might want to look things like this.
1 Gems→Gold goes up
2 This means more gems are needed by playerbase meaning gold<>gems buffer starts buffering more and more gold.
3 More and more gold leaves economy (cannot cause inflation)
4 Someone buys gems and releases gold from buffer
5 That someone consumes gold, thus destroying it forever. Either NPC purchase (100% destruction) or TP purchase (15% fee) or multiple TP purchases (multiple times of 15% fee).
6 TP will never cause inflation. It’ll destroy gold instead
7 Your heavy COF farmer grinder keeps farming and farming and farming cof and makes gold that will eventually increase amount of gold in system, thus after certain steps will cause “inflation”.

Either they add sinks to burn this gold, or reduce gold generated by system. First one is good and all, second one will make people cry that their sole way (cof or any other) to generate wealth has been nerfed and Anet doesn’t care of its customers at all and tries only to make it hard to get gold so people would instead buy gems to get gold and and and and…

Time to get my tinfoil hat. Sorry for rambling, but your argument and math would have been better if you had bothered to make basket of your goods and “prove” inflation. You got 5 legendaries already for the achievement? They’re ok way to spend gold, thou after 5 there ain’t other reason to gather them all but the gotta catch them all. You could also, if not done yet, fix yourself emperor title and minipet collector. While you’re into it, don’t forget making few lv 2 commanders to goof around and get yourself few dozen character slots – just in case you need them.

And for gods sake, get yourself proper bags so you can order them. :rolleyes: I can understand 1x rare, 1x uncommon and 1x invisible – but using f-bags like that to prevent inventory compact’ing – waste.

You could also just spam on forums for lulz. People tend to reply on stuff like this.

I’d like to point out that, by my experience, level of mist essence can also be capped by your personal level. So if you’re playing f38 with personal level of 1->9 range you’ll get only vials. (Noticed this when I leveled up my 2x in 3x and 4x dailies.)

Yes, real life investmentmarket doesn’t find this silly. You know why? Because they can do large scale business due large amount of investors leading large capital. From example sum that Synda Rainess offering, 100g, we’re talking about really small scale investment. Good TP player could use 50×100g and make difference with that 5000g, but that requires more investors, and a lot of trust. Mere 100g, alone, should be something “good” TP player earns in day or two, or at max from weekly rotation. Good one shouldn’t “need” mere 100g. As aeneq said, they can finance that themselves and keep profit themselves. In eve, with way more complex market, such ivestment groups do exist. We’ve more simplistic market, however, and are playing with different ruleset. Real life investment industry has thousands, well, millions of clients and those clients to bring a lot of money to the table. More than one week salary, you know.

To read between lines and adding my own to what ImagoX said; Someone interested in your money is most likely a scammer or a fool. Makes bigger fool to belive such, too good to be true (for example; 100→850g) offers. 1900% value increasement to your money, basically 20x folding it, and giving you 90% from profit sounds far fetched for me. You want someone qualified to take care of your money? Pay them accordingly and offer something they don’t have on their own. If they’re good at TP game then they have several thousand gold (and most of it in inventory, since, you know, money sitting in bank doesn’t grow). To them 100g ain’t much. You can farm that in a week, or 250g+ if you really put your mind to it and have nothing better to do. =/ I don’t find such farming fun myself. 1k g invesment might make someone interested, but that’d be quite heavy risk. If you however have such kind soul willing to help you out of the goodness in his/her heart, and specific person doesn’t belong to the fool category, lucky you.

Untill that, watch out. TP is hostile pvp environment. Sharks and clowns everywhere – and I’m just one of the clowns!

If someone is good at this TP game, (s)he most likely has enough capital by now to keep doing it. You sure (s)he wants to give you cut? Unless you’re offering significant investment, I don’t see anyone (honest) needing your gold to keep rolling their business.

And hey, even if you do have enough gold, let’s say 2000-5000, to make significant difference, what kind of intrest were you hoping? 1%(20-50) might be bit little on weekly basis for you and 5% (100-250) might be too high for one doing the dirty work for you. No sense in working double as hard if personal profit isn’t at least double as high. And were you to have 5k gold, why would you need more? I found out that having gold is good mainly for having gold after certain treshold. There is fun in it for some of use, true, but not all. (Unlike eve where you can use isk for soooo much.)

Anyway, don’t be offended. I personally just find your propostion silly. ^^ Someone who just wants your gold, however, will find it extremely interesting.

2. They’re not fixing it (yet) because it isn’t “real problem”. Really low priority.

3. Limit isn’t there to ensure you don’t lose money. You want NPC price, you sell to NPC. You want to slack and sell to TP right now while saving space and time, go ahead.

4. Limit is there so nobody can buy under vendor price and then sell them to vendor for profit. Simple as that.

Sure. Such results were posted on this topic, earlier, as well. Not identical rate, due rng, but close enough for my liking. It’s just that while mystic is convenient and easy, it’s also expensive and bad investment in long term due current gems<>gold ration.

On a related question, have people been throwing x4 of the Exotic mini pet from the Orrian Jewelry Boxes into the Forge? If you’re already burning karma on the boxes, I’d think that there might be a bit of money potential with the mini pets.

You cannot dump them to forge – stands for all exo minipes. (Same thing with exo runes/sigils since you cannot gamble with them, only use in fixed recipies such as legendaries.)

Except, you know, rares tend to have major runes and not superiors. Which means your major sigil of strength sells for 6s. Hardly reasonable to pay 1g for it.

I’d say that were items mentioned soldier prefix, that’d explain. Soldier items tend to sell for a lot more than common prefix items. I blame wvwvw for that.

Were they to have rare look, that’d explain as well. Were they “rare” drop (fractal only, for example), that’d explain as well. Were someone trying to play market with cool skin? That’d explain it too. And let’s not forget additional consumption of GS/dagger rares due to mystic toilet.

Most reasonable reason is sum of reasons.

From my personal experience, and using crafting boosters to level up few alts, you’ll see the difference best in cooking. Where you’d need discovery+26 to hit 25 levels, you might be able to do it with discovery+23 when using booster. Sometimes you’ll do discovery+22, sometimes discovery+24. Discovery+ <20 crafts haven’t happened to me iirc.

When doing armor/weapon crafts, you might be able to save one, rarely two fine crafts per 25 levels, but I don’t recall having much luck when trying to save rare craft (no sense to crafter masterwork, do rare instead and sell it for profit). In fact, there really isn’t sense trying to save rare craft.

Not a gamechanger, but guess it’s ok. More hassle than it’s worth for me, tbh. I might have small inaccuracy with my numbers due the fact I haven’t used any crafting booster anymore in 2 months due their limited usefulness. Using saladon beforehand to buy pile of materials, and then saving one or two randoms here and there, didn’t really feel like worth it.

Farming zone 2 is more efficient, and that doesn’t have a cutscene.

Guess digging in z2 ok, don’t know about more efficient thou.

Takes 15 minutes, will all loading screens, to run 3 maps and dig 300+ on the way. That’s bit over 7,2 in 900 seconds, or 0,48/minute and you don’t even need slingshot for that timing. Then again, one could just logout after frog king instead of visiting merchant, and instead visit merchant when you start , to drop out some seconds.

Naturally this works only for us with plenty of slots and not really to those who have to create and delete toons in order to “speedfarm”.

So promote speedrun and give freebies for skipping everything?

Just saying; if you do 5 diggings in 1-2 and 1 digging in 1-3, you’ll end up with 250+ (capped without wallet) baubles even if you try to skip all regular ones and that’s without any major straying from speedway. Doing full run with those diggings goes under way under 15 minutes (Rata sum → SAB → Rata sum) and allows you even fail once or twice in Frog King yet still hit inside that timer. Were you to use slingshot and burn those freebie baubles, it’d be even faster. That’s 1 extra bauble bouble for “free”.

I don’t say that Time Attack is bad feature, in fact it’s awesome. Just don’t grant extra baubles from it (promote speedrunning even more). Instead, give more baubles if team achieves higher score (kill everything).

I was talking with my guildie day back about sword-chucks. Wish they make those for town-clothes (I see no reason to make townclothe-version of them!) since they’d be obiviously too unfair for normal skin (for normal combat, you know, because they’re so awesome, that mobs would instadie from mere slice).
