just happened again where the map closes randomly on everyone on the map on teh mouth of mordremoth. I waited a month after it happened to me 5 times in a row, guess they don’t intend on fixing this map ever. ill just stick to ab and td till i get other players that can confirm it doesn’t happen.

Weird, I’ve done DS dozens of times without issue… Maybe you’re unlucky, or maybe you’re exaggerating to make a point.

Here is my guide to the strength trial:

You have to kill like what, five enemies one by one? Also the AoE damage effects give you about ten seconds to move.

Mate, if you’re struggling with this then you might as well give up. Fractals, raids, PvP… Nothing is going to work out for you.

What would I suggest? I heard Neopets is still going on… If you find that too difficult you could possibly try Hello Kitty Island Adventure….

Ele’s do some of the top DPS if not top, plus they have the option to heal in raids as well. In PvP it really depends on what you want to do. I suppose the same goes for PvE, and the main question is: Do you want to be melee or ranged? What style of play do you want? The aim of this game is to allow any profession to perform almost any role meaning it’s really up to your personal preference to what you want to play.

For open world events/casual content I enjoy my ranger the most due to its versatility, although rangers are pretty undesired as far as more “hardcore content” goes. With the addition of the Druid elite spec we have been given a place in raids as a healer though.

Also newtech… City of hope chapter 8… You’re talking there part where you need to avoid damage and kill 5 enemies? Well… Look at the ground… You have a 10 second warning on when that AoE damage effect is coming up. Also if you took 30 seconds to optimize your spec it may be easier to kill 5 enemies one by one. Man if you think this is challenging go play any other MMO. This is about as casual as it gets. It is just unbelievable that people are complaining. You’re literally going to ruin all new content by making it so-able on the first try. I’m sure you’re mouse clicking skills and keyboard turning. You probably have your heals, utilities and elites key bound to 6-0. Please realize you are the problem and not the game. Thanks.

Go check out GW1. You’re an hour into a mission and you pull an extra group of mobs on accident due to moronic NPC’s. GG you get to restart the whole mission!!!! Kids these days want content to be handed to them. PLEASE DO NOY RUIN GUILD WARS ANY MORE FOR ME! IT LITERALLY CAN NOT BE MORE CASUAL.

What will save this game in next expansion:

- New weapon types
- New races
- New continent (at least 12 maps)
- Events similar to SW (no HoT events)
- Better rewards (not just blue items)
- Mounts as cosmetics
- Capes (no more wings)
- at least 36 new armor skins (12 for each class)
- better wvw
- 2v2, 5v5 10v10 arena system
- pvp armors and rewards
- 6 new dungeons with 3 path each
- 2 new raids
- new and better crafting (fishing, treasure hunting, archeology or something…)
- rare monsters with rare drops
- new fractals
- new elite specs
- no gating and no “we will nerf this so you must play that attitude”
… and that my friends is worth 60$

A lot of these I agree with but a lot are also opinionated. While I agree that there needs to be more content, I don’t think we are ready for Cantha or Elona yet. We still have yet to see the ring of fire, crystal desert, I mean anything north of our current exploitable area! There’s so much more I personally want to see out of Tyria, but then again, I would love to see how the Kurzicks and Luxons have been holding up all this time with a map that is constantly changing based off of PvP. The only problem I see with adding in 12 new zones is that it is going to stretch the community resulting in the death of Tyria… But of course this is all speculation from an amateur such as myself.

Also we do not need mounts. Please no :P

Welcome to MMO’s you pointless complainers! On that note I was able to roll through all content without partying up. I still used the help of others, obviously but it was effortless. Anyways… MMO… Yeah. If you can’t do it go back to RPGs. All MMOs are casual with the intent that you will work with others. Literally anything in this game can be accomplished without talking/friends/guilds… Which actually makes this game MORE solo friendly than other MMOs…

I don’t understand, what’s one aspect of this game that is challenging. I hopped into HoT a few days ago after a year break and beat the story in a matter of two days. Cleared all exploration in the next two days. There is nothing in this game that isn’t casual… Unless all you complainers expect free kitten.

Thats due to the lack of content, the story is way to short.

The story was only a tid bit shorter than the original story. The difference was that level wasn’t a constraint. This doesn’t change the fact that it was extremely easy. I jumped back into this game from a year long break and literally destroyed the fresh content. I hear people complaining about dying to regular mobs. Or people complaining that they don’t like working with others. WHY are you playing a mmo???! Why are timed based events even a bad thing? Why is it so hard to either commit two hours to an event chain… OR… Now this is going to sound crazy… BUT OR… do something else??? Yeash. This thread is full of the most useless complaining I have ever seen. Get back to the game you rabbits.

My guild is dead.
I’ve been watching https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor for a suitable guild but not much happening in EU. Mostly new/small guilds or a couple of big ‘elite’ ones.

I still log in from time to time for the chest and from time to time for Teq, but that’s it.

The money and time was mostly well spend for the past 3 years, but times have changed, it’s 2016, and AN seams too slow to adapt (it’s not interested in pleasing too many players, IMO; they have a decent thing going on, small investment and decent $ output).

I’m one of those ‘old’ casuals who would rather read a book than Waste (yes waste) half an hour to one hour in search of a suitable DS meta organized map. The new zones are not ‘fun’, the dungeons are dead, and I was looking to have 1-2 hours of Fun when I can.
Currently GW2 is not that.

To the ones who say it only takes them a couple of minutes to find a suitable DS / AB meta map: I don’t believe you.

To the ones asking about GW2 alternatives, mines are:
http://www.goodreads.com/
– a game called Destiny (raids & dungeons & Fun )

yours truly, a filthy casual.

You’re joking right? Google “GW2 HoT Timer.” I prejoin each meta about 10-15 minutes prior… Also Destiny? Really? You’re discredited get outta here. That game was truly awful.

I don’t really understand the hardcore hype. I got HoT around a week ago. Literally destroyed the campaign in all zerk gear without dying once, and got the hang of pretty much every meta and how everything works. SPvP is in its off-season, PvE has never been better, and WvW is still glorious on the tier 1 circuit.

You guys play this game wrong.

The skin, they make you stand out. It is a huge accomplishment and usually inspires awe in those who do not have one. I currently have kudzu which leaves unique footprints, and I am about 90% complete on the bifrost which fires unique projectiles, has a rainbow aura, and leaves footprints.

Even then, 15 minutes to explore the sections full of the worst ennemies in the expansion is the dumbest idea I’ve ever seen, this needs to be changed aswell.

I don’t understand your struggle, I got 99% completion on DS two days into buying HoT. The last vista requires the poison immunity which I am working on.

News flash, all MMO’s consist entirely of grinds. I’m not saying I disagree with gliding being a worldwide meta, but you really can’t expect to play this game without every goal you have in mind being some sort of grind.

Name anything MMO related, I dare you. It will be a grind.

Oh sorry? Should I mention how HFC has and will be the top-tier raid for well over a year until Legion drops…? Go rationalize paying over $200 dollars for that. Happy with the garrison missions? All that “WoD content?” They can obviously afford a larger Dev team but that game has dropped well below 5 million subscribers. You’re taking what I’m saying out of context though. What do you expect from a $60 game? Go compare WoD in its first five months to this. At least you’re not being overcharged…

and we’ll be stuck with this raid, once it’s fully released, until the next expansion pack, so what’s your point?
And I didn’t take anything out of context. If you want to state that GW2 provides more content than WoW, then prove it.
Money wise, sure you spend less, but no need for lying to make GW2 look better.

My point isn’t that GW2 provides more content than WoW, provided WoW has been around for 12 years. My point is you get a whole lot more out of this game for $60 than you do from WoW which will initially cost you $40 dollars for an expansion plus the $15 dollar a month subscription. This is what you are taking out of context. Sure you can pay for gold but this takes time which is still a resource tied to money. If your main argument is that there is only one raid present in GW2 then that is pretty weak… It’s been what… a few months since this game dropped their first raid? Do you have evidence somewhere that there are no plans for a new raid ever? You’re sure acting like it. The point I’m trying to make is it’s pathetic how people complain but give no examples of why. I don’t understand the expectations others have for this game. You can call GW2 “cheap,” but it is simply a non-subscription game meaning the dev team is limited. Literally though, go to any game forum and you’ll see morons arguing about biased opinions and kitten they don’t understand.

Suckers playing WoW are basically paying a subscription to check your garrison and enjoy the old content that was released last June. Enjoy looking forward to no new content until the end of summer. Lawl.

To be fair, the amount of hours played will have a pretty drastic effect on how enjoyable any game. I sort of assume the OP meant 1100 rather than 11000.

Out of curiousity KingClash, besides bugs, or lack of information from the player-base, what problems do you see with this game? Regarding HoT and such. With this and the upcoming free DLC’s, do you think you got your money’s worth?

This game delivers more content than WoW without the $15 a month

this made me laugh. When was the last time WoW delivered an expansion with a single (not finished) raid, that only has a single difficulty and no dungeons, not to mention only 4 maps?

Oh sorry? Should I mention how HFC has and will be the top-tier raid for well over a year until Legion drops…? Go rationalize paying over $200 dollars for that. Happy with the garrison missions? I really don’t care to argue though, I’m just wondering what everyone expects. All I can say is I wish they implemented in a few more dungeons. Besides that I am an extremely happy customer. I think the new mastery system implements a fresh and rewarding system that differs from the typical leveling grind. I enjoy it a lot, and realize it’s a grind, but it’s not enough for me to totally condemn this game.

What do you guys expect from a non-subscription game? This game delivers more content than WoW without the $15 a month. You pay 20 dollars more for an expansion and according to Rebound he put 2-3 hours a day for over a month with more time on the weekends. I’m going to guess you’re low balling it and you put in about 150-200 hours until you were satisfied with where you were at. Is that not worth 60 dollars? I’m confused… What’s this magical game you guys are comparing this to? You see this randomized hate on every video game thread. Emphasis on randomized. The average person probably has around 700-1200 hours played. Is this not worth 120 bucks? Is that a joke? How many mmos survive this long? Let’s look at elder scrolls or kotor. Ish. Go even further and compare this to any other game. I think besides the non-mmo elder scrolls, the most I’ve put into a video game is around 100 hours until the fresh content runs dry.

How about, instead of blindly insulting what you don’t understand, you turn this into a constructive post on what you’d like to see. I mean it appears the OP put 11k hours into this game. I’m going to have to assume he’s talking GW1 as well because that is an absurd amount of time over something like 1200 days. OF COURSE IF YOU PLAY TEN
HOURS A DAY YOULL FIND YOURSELF BECOMING BORED? Duh??

“I wonder what we paid for”

Well bud, you probably paid for about 200 hours of fresh content. Be grateful they are continuing the fresh content. The gem store drives this game by those who are willing to whip out their wallets. Why don’t you join a game development team and work for free? No? Okay…

Looking for [non-rep] 10 man raiding guild

Avarice.2791

Hello,

I am looking for a guild that does not require representing outside of raid time. I am looking for a group that is either looking to, or currently progressing through FS at a dedicated time either once, or twice a week. I am currently dedicated to a PvP exclusive guild which is why I’m looking for non-rep.

I’m looking to play my ranger which is decked out in full ascended zerker gear/weapons/trinkets. I can also play Druid which I am rocking full exotic cleric gear. I have a lot of experience with raiding in other MMO’s and I know I can bring a lot to your team. I can use any voice application and I have a mic as well!

Thank you,

It always amazes me how many angry people run around posting meaningless shouts without any ability to read and even more, understand, any written content. While I am sure they all have greatets builds, eyes and fingers ever seen through the history, its the brain that has obvious trouble processing information. Who knows, could be because all the energy is spent on shouting angrily at everything and everyone, or for example, that it is just missing.

So let’s be clear here. We’re not “posting meaningless shouts” or “shouting angrily.” We are simply disagreeing with the fact that the OP is claiming HoT is too difficult. I literally face rolled through the main story line without dying once. I clearly disagree with this and I am stating my opinion.

Now buddy, it seems like you are the one shouting meaningless gibberish. I mean really… you recommended I go through all the content in white gear, lol. How about instead of wasting your energy shouting angrily on these forums, you spend some time researching this game and practicing. You’re so delirious I can hardly translate what you are trying to say. Thanks.

I am a daily player returning from a year long period of inactivity. I am casual, but I have a lot of experience with fractals, dungeons, pvp, WvW, guild missions, world bosses, etc. My main (ranger) has full ascended gear and I’ve played enough to obtain Kudzu without purchasing gems. I also have a commander tag if need be!

On a personal note I am 23, currently studying Computer Science, and I have a long background with GW1 (Been playing since prophecies was released)

I am looking for a guild that mainly centers around WvW but also ventures in other aspects of the game. I am willing to apply if anyone can point out any major guilds! I’ve been out of the loop for awhile. I am willing to contribute when needed and I’m always the first to volunteer to help others! Most of all I am looking for a guild where everyone is required to rep and maintain an active status!

Fogleg, are you serious? Unoptimize content to the most progressive gear? You must be new to mmos. Here I have a healthy alternative. Play the game. Get the correct gear. Optimize your character through research and experience. Easily proceed through the underwhelming content. As you can see, I’m not the one complaining here. I’m simply saying I disagree, content should not be nerfed because it took you a few tries. If you want it, work towards it. Isn’t it great??! Enjoy… Buddy.

I literally do not think it is possible to dumb down guild wars anymore than it is in its present state.

I swear, this new gaming generation always expects results after the first try. Put some thought into it. Try different builds. Figure out where you, the minority, is going wrong rather than calling for nerfs, effectively ruining the enjoyment a challenge brings.
