We’re a newly formed guild comprised of the WvW core from a PvX guild known as [HL] as well as a few others who moved servers to be a part of us starting up. Our main goal is not to blob to victory as our opponents may be so keen in doing, but to rather run ~20-25 man counter-blob groups with proper builds, communication, and teamwork. There is no glory in steamrolling smaller groups with 50 man blobs, but there is a hell of a lot of fun in taking down larger groups with a skilled group of combatants.

So i never post about anything in here, but tonights blatant 2v1 while TRYING to take bay was ridiculous. First of all, TC and JQ never even looked at each others towers. Secondly, it is comical to see TC knock down a wall or door just to slide to the other side so JQ can come in and set up trebs. It’s a joke. Then again I did walk away with 194 Heavy Loot Bags and numerous rares…. Good on ya!!

This is only my second post. Ask your friends who were in TCBL all night who helped JQ cap our garrison? This is seriously business as usual for everyone.

It’s normal procedure to go for garrisons. You were on your BL, yawnnnnn.

TC didnt even do so much as touch a JQ camp all night, nor did JQ touch a TC holding as well. Come on kids :P

We’ve spent the past 3 days flipping it like a pancake, but grats on the hold for the last 2hours. You will need more than donating +15ppt all night to your server with a map blob to beat TC though. Good fights the rest of SoR, I do envy your short que time to get so many of one guild on a map. But our JQ puggies performed admirably, holding a very large guild group in a paper bay all night. The only real threat to any JQ structures came from a kamikaze STUN member who almost broke into garri lords with a solo omega golem! haha.

Fun fights with STUN a couple times, SoR kinda kept interrupting a couple :p

Oh yes quite a stunning performance by JQ and JQ only tonight. TC was completely nonexistant on the map with their STUN + PINK + Pugs blob. They didnt help you inside of bay once at all, it was miraculous how they stayed far far away from the SoR side of the map. I also loved the part where the JQ blob was solo fighting us in bay for 2 hours. I saw about 50 TC but I think I was glitching out.. weird.. Hmmph! Well done then JQ on solo holding us in bay for 2 hours with swiss cheese walls/gates!

P.S. Every time youve taken bay its been after our guilds went to bed. Zzzzzzz…

To all the TC who feel it’s appropriate to kick SoR when we’re down:
A) Weren’t TC folk supposed to be nice? o_O
B) If we do crumble, who exactly do you think will take our place? SoS? Mags? I sure hope you don’t this turn attitude you’re showing onto yourselves if/when you get stuck with BG/JQ repeatedly in the future and play third wheel.
SoR falling apart is bad for more than our just our server. The more logical people on BG and JQ have also stated as much. If SoR were struggling due to guild migration, this might be remedied, but we’re suffering attrition. People are reducing their gameplay. No one is going to gobble up our power and rise to T1; things will get destabilized.

SoR is fine IMO. We’re getting 2v1’d hardcore but the good thing about that is that it is bringing us some of the best fights we’ve had in a while. I know at least my guild is profiting heavily off of the insane amount of bag donations that JQ specifically has donated on JQ BL the past 3 nights.

I dont think TW disbanded.

We obviously have lost some oceanic presence in [DIE], we’ve lost our Euro in [IRON] and earlier [KISS]. [TW] is slightly rebuilding. I dont think [FEAR] is running at 100% force right now either.

In terms of full force nightly runs there is still [Hel], [Choo], [HL], and [HIRE] now running some NA. [RET] and [FEAR] are running ~15 man groups nightly.

So yes we are a lot “weaker” in terms of coverage these days.

Just give up on it. They know it is broke, so they are creating a whole new system, that deals with an overflow map.

That should tell you that their tech for the queue is so broke, that it isn’t even worth spending the resources on fixing it.

I still think a rename to ‘Lottery’ would be nice. It’s not fair to be lied to day in and day out when im in queue for an hour vs others who pop in 5 minutes.

Short and sweet, can we get an actual legitimate explanation of how this ‘queue’ works, OR could we get the name changed to lottery instead.

I feel that it is false advertising to call this utter embarrassment of a system a ‘queue’, when it works closer to a lottery than any sort of logical queue system. Why would a system like this be designed in the way of a lottery, when the most logical way would be a queue? Either call it what it is, or design it like an actual queue.

Servers go on hot streaks, and servers go on cold streaks. It happens, why is everybody acting like this is some sort of GW2 Apocalypse?

Get out on the battlefield, fight hard and kick kitten . Thats all.

Yeah SOS BL was good times. Overall I lost count of how many kills I had. Especially enjoyed the battle at water camp against BG, garrison captures against SOS, and the hills takes against BG :p

We’re currently experiencing a large amount of disconnects. About 10-15% of us in Eternal Battlegrounds are disconnecting with a gw2.exe game crash.

It seems to be he same ~15 of us disconnecting at the same exact time. I have some guildmates who say theyre being disconnected even in Lions Arch/other areas of the game.

This suggestion is quite simple.

Why not add a kill / death tracker to the overall scoreboard (pressing? I feel like it’d be a fun new statistic added to WvW to allow us to really see who’s dominating the fights and kicking the most kitten . Sure there would be “spies” that consistently die to enemies/things in WvW but their deaths would be insignificant and pointless as this would not carry any sort of reward or give the servers with the higher K/D any advantage. The K/D could even be broken down for each borderland to see exactly how well each server is fairing on each borderland.

Thoughts?

If you’re not prepared to wait in queue then that’s your problem. Stop complaining and learn to understand that once the pve carebears are gone, your queues will reduce. If you can’t handle that then no one can help you. Remember, everyone on your server has just as much a right to play wvw than you do.

How is it my problem exactly? I chose this server way back when we were Tier 3 moving into Tier 2 and we barely queued maps. This is my home server and I do not wish to move.

The fact is, the moment Devon posted the above post in September, you guys should have circled the wagons and actually try to deflect any incoming players and guilds. That didn’t happen. The opposite did really. The “arms race” kicked into high gear with all the NA t1 servers instead.

It wasn’t hard to predict there would be this mass pve influx and resultant queues. It just took a bit of foresight.

The “avalanche effect” would have a more solid footing as an argument if those above posted recruitment threads hadn’t been constantly bumped, making it appear SoR still needed players. Both threads were bumped even after the leagues started up. Check the dates on them. Heck, one was even bumped today

Those threats are really looking for late NA/Oceanic players. We HAVE actually deflected away guilds who approached us first who were NA guilds. It’s not like we tried recruiting more :P

I’d just like to make a note of one thing that I think people aren’t considering when they transfer to stacked worlds. You will not, repeat will not, be able to receive the reward based on overall world place in the league, unless you achieve the meta achievement for the season. If you aren’t able to get into WvW much, you won’t get the rewards. So it is absolutely taking a risk to transfer to a world that has a large WvW population.

I’m just saying you need to have a conversation with your server and all get on the same page.

Oh they absolutely did advise people to consider the incoming pve crowd, but seems few did.

Yes but why have the old school players and guilds of the server be penalized? If anything ANet made it more enticing for people to transfer to so called ‘stacked’ servers. The more stacked the server, the better odds of getting the rewards. By adding rewards for winning, people will move to servers who are overly stacked to have the best possible chance of winning. It has created an avalanche effect. To be fair, during NA prime time where myself and my guild plays, we’ve only really acquired 1 guild since leagues were announced, and that is RISE. They do not run big numbers every night, and even when they do have big numbers they usually only have ~30 people maximum.

Dont turn this into an anti-SoR thread :P

We never have had queues during times we have them now. It’s not transfers, as we really havent gotten a large dose of them. It’s the PvE achievements being added to WvW & the more intense competition that have lit a fire under everybodys butts and gotten them into WvW.

The problem is that ANet did not prepare for the influx of people queuing up for WvW.

This is not a ‘fix it or I quit thread’, but a legitimate question.

Why should I attempt playing WvW right now?

I play this game for WvW, it is the only thing I truly enjoy on GW2. My guild also has many people who share my enjoyment of WvW and we are quite a large guild. Transferring to another server is simply not an option for us due to our size and our affinity for the server we are on (and have been on since Day 1).

I am also the main commander of my guild, and ‘rallying the troops’ and leading them generally falls into my hands. I spent legitimately 3-4 hours in queue last night (which is understandable I guess since it’s reset), but hell it is now Saturday and I have spent nearly 2 hours trying to get my guild into a borderland. These long queues are NOT ALLOWING GUILD PLAY. It completely defeats the purpose of a group/team oriented game if you cannot get your group together even though theyre online.

Here are some issues I see:
1) I am not making it in while those who queue up after me ARE making it in.
2) The queue is NOT a queue, this is VERY misleading. It acts more like a lottery than it does a queue system. Fix your terminology or fix this BS ‘queue’ system.
3) With the WvW populations of each server skyrocketing as they have been due to the implementation of PvE (achievements) into the WvW Leagues, it is only fair to know your queue position and if you even have a chance to make it in each night
4) Have some sort of notification to let me know my “queue” has popped. Do I really have to sit here and watch my screen for HOURS just to see if a little box has popped up on my screen giving me the ‘good news’ of a queue pop? Hell, send me a freaking text message, phone call, Facebook wall post, I dont care. Let me do something else so I dont go insane watching my screen.
5) Need I mention the INSANE skill lag/server lag that occurs? That horse has been beaten enough already.

This system is broken, but thats not news to anybody who WvWs on Tier 1 servers. It’s not fair to the players who truly play for WvW with it being the highlight of their time spent on GW2. Right now GW2 for me is a $60 DMV line simulator

EDIT: I take that back, even the DMV gives you an order/number.

The problem with thinking like this is if you win you will be at BG’s mercy on week 7 since they will be in a position to determine who wins the league. Mock BG all you want, but there’s a very strong chance it could cost you.

The problem with this is JQ could say anything they want about BG and BG will still hate SoR more
