Okay so let me get this straight. All of this rage coming from BG about us getting a guild in a timeslot we have uncovered.

Recently Received Guilds:

BG: WM, RISE, Meow, ND, Merc
Sor: IRON, AFS
JQ: ?

So BG gets 3-4 LARGE guilds and a couple complimentary. We receive a large Euro guild and a kitten little SEA guild.

Don’t underestimate MERC & WM, they worked hard to pull off a 2 week dominance in PPT by engaging both SOR and JQ in EU time. It’s real hard work and they have the tenacity to pull it off anytime they want. To the rest of us, BG ticking at 500ppt+ on GMT+8 6am was no illusion.

BG with the strongest Oceanic vs SOR & JQ, pushed the best PPT among 3 servers just last night between late NA and mid Oceanic

BG gave the illusion of EU via SEA / Oceanic last week, now SoR with EU, going to be a long kitten winter.

I don’t underestimate us I know exactly what we are capable of, I also know how burnt out I am and how much strain our guild is under covering these time zones. Also we had to do a CTA (call to arms) which was an unnatural occurace, we had 90/95% WvW attendance last night, which is good but also once again unsustainable.

The way I saw it the whole night you were in the strong position. We had 300 then 400 ppt even spiking 445 but this was due to JQ and EB not SoR. All of our holdings bar Bay on SoR BL and Garri/EB were paper, we did not gain any ground during this timezone only flipped it and ticked, this is not because we didn’t try to upgrade things this is because we spent all night jumping from one map to the next dealing with threat after threat at one point we jumped into hills on BG BL to save it, then didn’t even have time to repair the door before jumping in to save SM then back to SoR BL to save bay all in the space of 20 minutes.

I went to sleep at 3am last night after helping holding SoR BL down with a static 10 people outmanned for hours.

MERC even being awake during EU is an illusion of coverage, Ralikh and myself are our main late SEA commanders, Ralikh logs on later so that he can play EU doesn’t change the fact it is still 3-6am GMT+8 when he logs off, this is not sustainable by the time EU timezone rocks around MERC has been in WvW already for over 10 hours. Edit (I say main as this is our timezone, but often have GMT +10 East Coast Aus commanders up late as well…)

We flip towers/keeps, but as soon as we log out there is no real competition for IRON and SoR’s EU coverage. We really do care for our server, but we cannot keep pulling these shifts and the addition of IRON to T1 makes even overtime futile.

You are underestimating the power of having T3 keeps with 1700 supply going into Oceanic.

Thank you for the compliments though, I guess we’ll have to wait and see how the next 2 weeks go.

tl;dr: Props to the SoR oceanics that actually have skill, and remember most of what you see on a forum is probably wrong – be skeptical, if not cynical about most of what people say on a public forum.

As a guy who normally stays up and commands sometimes during Oceanic. I find some of the things very hard to believe. Our mainly force is normally the HIRE and co forces and a smallish force keeping things tidy in SoR BL. OCX doesn’t raid every night, nor do they field close to what HIRE does, AFS normally comes out a bit later. When we were at ~100 PPT last night, there was really only HIRE trying to cover four maps. Oceanic is probably our weakest point.

Genuinely proud of SoR. It doesn’t really matter if we win or not this week. If we do, it would be a massive achievement. Keep it up SoR.

I think it’s unwise to criticize JQ, they are number 1 for a reason. You probably met militia forces lead by new commanders. And as some of the Quarrians say, don’t provoke the beast lest he comes down on you.

SOR has faced many competent JQ zergs, they are worthy opponents. As you new transfers RISE, MEOW, WM, etc are.

Thought T1 was suppose to be this awesome zerg v zerg competition but as I command for RISE I can’t help but notice the disorganization from JQ and some SoR zergs. JQ’s logic – put arrow carts in the middle of fights because our skill isn’t enough, scatter everywhere to make us look like a bigger zerg, run away. I’m noticing SoR getting better with their organization so brownie points for you guys, but man was I disappointed at the competition when we xferred to BG.

I believe the guilds that won’t even try is because they know better and expect to be wiped.
Regarding Foo, it is obvious they didn’t even expected the outcome or they might have not accepted, as soon the ball was already rolling it would have been hard for them to honorably back away from these fights even if they wanted.

I work really early hours (4am est) so on the weekends I get to see FoO in action often and I can say, without reservation, they are more than a zerg. Yes, they have huge numbers. Yes, as any large guild of that size, skill level varies. Same as in any large western guild.

However, when it comes to discipline and organization, sheer points producing potential, I think they kick NA’s butt. When’s the last time you saw a group from NA do sentry duty at a camp? Sure maybe a person will watch a door, maybe player will patrol a yaks route. FoO will set up a 5 man in every camp with a response team ready to be there in 30 seconds. Heck they even have a sentry or two on each yak. Basically, a solo hunter like me can’t do jack but gank the occasional solo on their way to doing something productive and responsible. Basically, they’re an army and we’re just roaming barbarians. Any NA guild could learn a thing or two. Sure, in a wild fight we beat em.. But I think taking a keep from them would be miserable.
What they do, standing bored at an objective, takes pride. They ENJOY it, because it’s winning. And I do believe that pride would also require them to keep coming back, even if they lose, until they do beat us.
I guess we’ll find out Sunday, eh?

Right now these tactics are one of the major reasons JQ is winning. Sure we make full use of our stronger timezones and appear to have some better numbers at times as well but we defend and upgrade our stuff better than the other two servers and so hold onto to points for longer. Each timezone tries to hand off something for the previous timezone to work with.

Heh. Your statement above still comes down to numbers advantage. More eyes and ears as scouts on the road thus covering more land area. Extra bodies to run supplies, upgrades etc.

Did you miss last weeks reset night? Up until 4am all 3 servers were neck and neck as every NA player packed the queues for each. Was a less then 2k difference when I went to bed. Woke up the following morning around 11am central to see the lead balloon to 12k JQ advantage, lol. How do you think this happened? From your Asian crew defending and upgrading? haha.

Anyhoo, we had similar advantage when we were on T2 and the games grew stale fast pounding on doors with little resistance so much prefer having the greater number of opponents to go against so keep those bandwagon transfers coming JQ!

You went to sleep early, but many wvw players who enjoy the game do not sleep on their normal hours on a Friday/Saturday. I personally played until almost 4am (of course not 11 straight hours).

One of the points Kreen makes that probably isn’t happening on SOR is that, on JQ, the players from the different time zones try to help each other out by doing the little things like escorting yaks to upgrade to pass on next time zone, managing the hours to try to log in during the server’s weaker coverage hours, etc.

At least from what I have seen on the forum, SOR does their normal thing during their normal hours and then points the finger at their weaker time zone players and blames them for the reason why they’re losing. I’ve read some SOR players calling their other time zones “disorganized” or trying to kick their other time zone players out of their server just to give them a better chance of winning instead of actually trying to help them out.

I can assure you our NA do try their best to help our weaker timezones. I dont know where you got that from.

SBI & SoS had huge problems from within which was the cause for their implosion. It’s very noticeable that the same problem has moved to SoR now.

I for one am lucky to be on Blackgate, a server that doesn’t have any sort of negative internal issues & where the entire community treats each other as though we are all family. Much respect for my fellow beastgater’s

SoR is literally the most unified server I have ever experienced, everyone is warm and friendly and willing to work together on a level I am simply not used to.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for you and your guild; I just hope that you all will be able to fix the current problems that SoR is facing…

Azure, I have a lot of respect for your guild and the decision you all made in moving to SoR, you were sorely needed in your time zone. I particularly enjoyed Stealthzor’s company while he scouted our server. Just because you moved to a server with a large number of forum warriors, however, doesn’t mean you have to be one yourself.

Good fights in EB last night. The match is what it is and I’m going to keep playing the game that I enjoy no matter what turns the meta or coverage may seem to take.

I’d like to see some sort of “statement” from some of the SoS guilds, before I believe that quote above. As the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail goes “I’m not dead!”.

It will be. 3 other major guilds are threatening to leave.

It comes down to one thing folks. At the end of the day, this is not a second job, it is a game. Why do we play games? The main reason is fun. If any guilds were to move from any sever at any point in time, it’s not going to just be about scores and all that. It’s going to be about creating fun and what’s best for their guild.

Sure, some guilds join servers because they want nothing more than to win, for others it’s about finding a home in which they have supporting guilds around them who they can cooperate with and have fun in the field.

Just curious, why do you think it will be more fun in BG compared to SoS?

Oh well. Its a real pity to see major guilds leave SoS. This is a HUGE blow to SoS. We, AFS, will remain in SoS to fight for SoS’s pride.

I am at a loss. Ever since i was hacked, i gave up and moved on to my alternate character when my account was hacked. Now, when i leveled that character 25 times and earned a reasonable amount of gold, this account restoration comes. Just asking, why can’t ArenaNet just rollback one specific character?
