Some things to think about:
3) People who often consider themselves to be part of the “small skilled group” fighting the “mindless zergs” in games generally can’t handle getting killed very well so they like to blame other factors for their loss rather than accepting they picked a fight they couldn’t win. It was this way in EVE and this way in WAR and it is this way in GW2.
I couldn’t agree with this more, I wanted to do small mans at first but then I just realized it’s just a bunch of people who fit perfectly into this point. If small mans really wanted to play on an even playing field with no excuses they would play spvp tournaments, or rent a spvp aerver and host 8v8 / 5v5 team death-matches with other small mans.
“Our enemy might outnumber us” well now you outnumber your enemy, congratulations on proving yet again that wvw is more about coverage and numbers than skill and organization.
More then likely its not that your server is low pop but that your server dose not mostly wish to do wvw.
If his server was in the last tier then he does have a low pop server it’s not that people don’t wvw. Don’t believe me, guest JQ then guest a server like ET, you will see the difference in all areas especially in LA yet the servers are both listed as “very high.” They are both very high because anet wants you to pay the maximum in gems for a transfer.

Yeah I’m deciding between FC and ET, just trying to see if there are any guilds recruiting on either of the servers because I am transferring down by myself.
Which server should I transfer to? I would prefer to transfer to a server with some small man guilds that are recruiting. I will probably buy the gems to transfer tonight.

Just started some Bal pre events on JQ NA
I hope AR and BP team up against EB considering EB destroyers both of them each week. The game was designed with 3 server to correct an unbalance of servers such as T5 experiences every week. IF AR and BP teaming make the fight more even then T5 is in a better place than it was before.
Stop the QQ about double teaming, its a 3 realm game for a reason (to balance out if one server gets to powerful) plus I remember when BG first got to T1 a long time ago and I was on BG in a tower in EB, SBI was hitting the gate JQ was hitting the wall. When SBI got through the gate JQ ran away. So please stop complaining about double teaming everyone does it, if anything take it as a compliment.

I’m definitely interested in hopping down to T7 to join a roaming guild for some more roaming game play. Zerg vs zerg in T1 has just gotten so boring. Let me know if you guys decided to make T7 the destination for this.

I have a zerker set and a condition set for WvW, and although I like using my condition set for smaller encounters I have found my wvw exp and loot tanks when I’m doing condition damage as opposed to my zerker set.
I know that my character names are one of a kind for all NA servers but when I transfer to an EU server will this be the same? Or will I be forced to change the name of my characters?
Any Gandara or Aurora Glade NA WvW guilds? I’m thinking about transferring over from Jade Quarry.
Any non-rp, WvW, NA guilds on Piken?
Healing is FAR too strong? Have you ever played another mmo where there is another player. The thief killed me with 2 skills .25 seconds. Does 100 take .25 seconds? It does not. 100 blades is channeling and you can escape it.
You can also dodge any skill a thief can use on you that also does dmg. Also, if you use any skill that shields you or causes ANY of our hits to miss, those go into CD and are thus lost for the remaining of the CD. If you get facerolled in 2 sec you just suck no matter the class.
First off average human reaction time I think is around .25 seconds so you can’t dodge it (especially when the person doing it to you is unseen so the reaction time takes longer than average). Use a shield on a mesmer? And you say I suck at this game? Lastly I didn’t get facerolled in 2 seconds, I got facerolled in under half a second which is why I am complaining. Thief is my MAIN and I even think they need a nerf, as well as other classes, to make spvp better.
What I am saying is a total of TWO attack skills did 15,000 damage in UNDER .5 seconds. My health is 15,000 and in NO MMO should people get two shotted in under a second.

Had no might, I was running a zerker ammy in spvp, and since it was spvp he didn’t have 100+ crit damage. 5k steal crit 8k backstab crit with a 2k air hit (from his sigil). 2 skills cause me to die. Pre buffing doesn’t even matter no one should be able to use 2 damage dealing skills to kill anyone.
um you can however do it with the right shatter build, mesmer my friend is one of the most over powered pvp class.
He only has to press 2 buttons to kill someone? Please inform me what two buttons he presses to kill someone in under a second with no prior skills/buttons being pressed!
This is getting offtopic but the standard BS thief does :
- Basilisk Venom (button 0)
- Assassin’s signet (button 7)
- Precast C&D (button 5)
- Mug (button F1)
- Move into the back of the target if needed (from nothing to press to moving around with the keyboard)
- Backstab (button 1)So I count around 5 buttons to do the standard combo. That’s a lot more than the 2 buttons thing you mention. Let’s say he doesn’t need the signet and Basilisk Venom somehow kitten you must be really squishy then). That’s still 3 buttons at the strict minimum.
There were two skills he used to kill me, back stab and steal. CnD was not used, therefore 2 damaging skills was used, precasting something doesn’t espcially when it doesn’t do any damage you smart kitten
Was going to try to transfer to HoD from JQ but the servers population is high right now. Will try again in the morning. I need to get off T1, these mega zergs make wvw beyond boring.
I’m also in T1, JQ, and I am finding the mega zergs to be extremely boring to play with. I am 80% sure I’m transferring off T1 tonight because WvW has lost its appeal in this tier.
Sorry OP but it is definitely a L2 kitten ue. I have level 80 full exotics mesmer and necro and if the fight lasted as long as you said the necro should win the fight 100% of the time. Utility skills you should be using are corrupt boon and epidemic as at least 2 of the 3 utility skills. The mesmer is one of the top classes at the moment and I think the nerf to quickness but your situation is not an example of it being over powered

I can’t kill a class with 2 skills on my mesmer, so yes I do think it is over powered. Don’t forget I play the thief too.
T1 was always a huge zerg fest, now instead of maybe having 2 different zergs on a map (pretty rare even then) everyone is in 1 zerg. Another reason why T1 zergs seem to be bigger than usual right now is because every BL is full (even before it was prime time). I’ve actually thought of getting out of T1 for a while now, zerg vs zerg is so boring.
With a zerker amulet my base health on my mesmer (what I was playing at the time) is around 15k. Do you think it is fair a thief can 8k BS 5k Steal and 2k lightning strike proc to me in under a second? Not to mention I’m stunned by this by basilisk vennom. Also it is not a l2 kitten ue, I easily get out of basilisk venom when not instantly killed but its kinda hard to get away when 2 skills that take under a second to cast kill you.
Thief just 8k BS 5k Stealed me in spvp gear (so no 100+ crit damage). I’m sorry thieves but you (and I because I am one) need to get nerfed. In a game with no healers no one should be able to insta gib you. No ability in this game from ANY class should be able to do over 4k damage PERIOD. If classes can hit over 4k in spvp I think anet should really think about putting healers in the game to mitigate insane burst damage (took 15k damage in 1 second from a thief).
Hey I was just wondering which rewards chest is best to buy with tournament tickets? Do they all give you the same amount of items with one chest just giving you a chance for better items?
It is pretty obvious that when SoR’s NA primetime wants to play for PPT their is nothing either of you can do to stop us. I look at it more like Pavlovs dogs experiment in regards to classical conditioning. JQ has been conditioned to not attack SoR during NA primetime due to SoR completely destroying JQ if they try since JQ has very weak NA lately. This results in an effective 2v1 against BG that we have been seeing lately since BG has better NA primetime than JQ. It is actually a very smart move on both SoR and JQ’s part.
But the result is in other timezones SoR gets double teamed hard by both servers because we have literally no one on. It kind of works out in the end
JQ usually focuses BG because they want to knock BG down to T2. After they received all of those transfers we think it would be funny for them to go down. If JQ wanted to they could probably fight SoR pretty easily on NA prime time and not suffer a point loss.
It was 1 target so there was no extra pierce damage.
I would suggest (depending on what tier you are in) fighting outside the JP. I find that lots of people in the JP are not their to fight and its easy to get into 2v1s which are not as fun to watch. If you are in T1 its harder to roam because of the huge zergs running around but I still like watching roamer videos than JP videos.
Also have you ever tried the staff? It’s great when things are more open. I understand the GS in the JP because its pretty easy to use 5 to knock people off whatever part of the puzzle they are on.
I think the marks are fine, it’s the number 1 skill that needs changing because it is so sloooooow.
I made my thief build especially for some average resistance to stay longer on battlefield. I have 1400 toughness (full exotic) which I think is quite high for this class and yet I have been destroyed by some some glass canon hitting me by Steal 8000, CnD 5500, BS 10200(1vs1 match). I never experienced this with my previous build with 900 t. If +500 t. makes no difference what is the point to have it? If I had my previous build i would be BS by 12000? steal 10000?
Other side is hitting someone in light armor (power 3000, critic. 90%) and doing him 3000 damage by BS. I found that I got Higher damage on warriors then on mesmers or necros. STRANGE INDEED!?Backstab damage is doubled if you are behind your target

Considering an thief can get over 3200 power -120 critical damage (full glas cannon)
we add food buff / 25 bloodlust staks / 25 might stacks – thief can reach 4200-4500 power / 120 crit damage
add 5% (dagger training)+ 5%(flanking strikes) +10% (exposed weakness) +10%(first strikes) + 20%(executioner) from traits = 50% damage modifier , mathematicly is posible to hit with same skill for 5k damage or 20 k damage .
Direct damage formula is – Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
SITUATION 1
DAMAGE DONE = 952 (weapon dmaage) * 4300 (power ) * 2.4 (backstab skill coeficent) * 150% (traits ) * 2.7 (Critical ) / 2400 armor = result an 16579 backstab
SITUATION 2
DAMAGE DONE = 952 (weapon dmaage) 3200 ( no bloodlust/might stacks) 1.2 (facestab skill coeficient)* 115% (traits- no flanking strikes / target got no condition/ you don’t have over 6 initiative /target got over 50% hp) * 2.7 (critical ) =5517 face backstab (Critical ) -2000 non critical
ofc you can get more power – i belive you can reach 4700 full ascended /ruby orbs
Also i did not took in consideration sigil of force 5% damage or any defensive buffs /protection -signet of judgement / -% damage under ….. etc .
And vulnerability /frenzy (take extra 50% damage)
Those could increase even more the damage diference from same player to same target
I’ve seen a warrior Kill Shot someone for 33,000 damage, the worst part is that he did it from a safe distance .

I thought the mesmer was the hardest class for me to level (have 80 thief and necro aswell) It was annoying because I felt like I had to try 100% to complete story quests and try 100% when killing a lot of mobs. I feel like now that I am 80 and geared it is a lot better than it was while leveling. Try mesmer in spvp and see if you like it. If you like it then level it to 80, if not go with the ele. 1-80 for me was a real pain though, I even crafted 40 levels.
I was just wondering what the best runes were for a WvW shatter mesmer. I’ve seen a couple of people running with superior air and I’m not 100% sure why. Any suggestions?
Oh dear Anvil….you were a nobody until you got your ICON, and then you were a puppet commander for quite some time. You were given your position and it was not earned. Please oh please don’t confuse opinion with fact….it will only hurt your leftover alliance in the long run. Maybe what’s left should do a proper vote on who should lead and see if your given position still remains.
@ ktith sPvP as in structured pvp, tournaments fall into the category of structured pvp. just stop being so salty about AR and admit you were wrong. Or is your ego to big?
Play necro, as there aren’t enough of them in wvw right now and if you can figure it out, is actually a fun class to play in wvw (clue: wells, second clue, flesh golem) with a lot of survivability. Just don’t expect to get many badges in group fights, for some reason my necro gets less than any other class except my support guardian. Make sure you get into a group in wvw and stick together, this will increase your drops a lot!
This but run a condi necro, you will be able to easily 2v1 people
And actualy, you are both zerging our BL, acting like brave heroes in your big groups but still running from 1v1s.
I should have fraps this when AR then BP took Cliffside 15 min ago. It was depressing.But at least, you fight back when you have your 30 friends with you. It’s better than nothing I guess…
You talk about 1v1s, go to the mists and 1v1 everyone you think you are better than. I was 1v3 people on my necro today, None of those people offered me a 1v1, so I hope you keep getting stomped by zergs. It is WvW live with it

And to correct your mistake, sPVP is available to all servers at once. Your answer should have been that it “seems” that Anvil Rock has the “most” sPVPers out of all the servers. But, that would even be incorrect, because I have been matched with some of Anvil Rock’s finest on many of my toons by chance and honestly I don’t see the stigma associated with your comment (I’ve killed many and been near top or top in pts most matches). Now my next conquest will be tPVP when I get dedicated people to form a team within our guild. Don’t believe me….ask Keyba about my days in sPVP.
Plus, we’re not talking about sPVP here anyways….this was about WvW anyways.
What I meant is best sPvP community, oh wait that is what I said. It does not ‘seem’ as though AR has the best community it is a fact that can be proven by going to the mists of all of the other servers.
The only type of sPvP you have played is hotjoin which is really easy to score high in, and most players you are playing are usually bad or trying out a new class. Also points scored does not equal skill. Just means you are around the action and have tagged a lot of people. Go to the AR mists and tell people you score high in hotjoin matches and therefore you are good, you will be made fun.
Do not start working on a power build. Necro is it’s best with a condition build something like 0/30/20/20/0 Get gear that has +Toughness +Condition damage and +Precision. Once you get your exotic weapons throw a superior earth sigil on their and you will be able to keep 12-14 bleeds on a target.
We wouldn’t come back to AR anyways, even if it had something to offer….which is doesn’t.

Look at the balance of the bottom 3 tiers. Now look at the balance of the rest of WvW. If you looked it up the balance of the other tiers you will realize there is none. Even T1 usually isn’t balanced. (except for this week and its only a battle between 2 servers)
