Idk I figured this would be a pretty simple addition to the game, but perhaps adding an npc that could change your hairstyle if you want for a fee in the cities.
I just thought of this mainly because I’m sick of my toon’s beard lol.
How would you put charr on a mount? That would be strange….haha
SC2 players don’t whine because they ARE getting something for playing. SC2 is an e-sport because it is well balanced. You play for rating, just like in WoW arena. I don’t see any such system beneath 5v5 in GW2. I was hoping there would be 3v3 arena and hopefully 2v2…
This. Their needs to be more of an incentive to actually win the game like in starcraft 2 or LoL. If you win in starcraft 2 you move up the rankings and that’s why I play starcraft 2 online. Constantly trying to get to the next league. League of legends if you win you get more influence points which will get you more heroes faster. If you lose you barely get any influence points. Once you hit 30 then a ranking system is implemented to keep you playing. Just having random pick up games filled with random people makes the game anti-competitive. You get points by killing people and doing your own thing. Where if they began implementing glory points by wins (and maybe a matchmaking system similar to LoL/Sc2) I think that alone would make the sPvP better
I’m terrible at this game. I flat out stink, but whenever I play as a mesmer and spawn a bunch of clones of myself I wreck people. If I play any other class and any other build I’m pretty much preparing for a complete kitten kicking. I can say as somebody playing an OP profession, not complaining, that things need balanced.
I agree. Every other e-sport has a pre game queue up (LoL, Starcraft 2, dota 2). I think the pre-game team finding is almost essential if this game is to survive as an e-sport.
This will never happen my friend.
As for you spending just as much time in game as your guild mates and looking like crap compared to them because they have earned their gear in WvWvW/PvE.Put the shoe on the other foot.
You have earned your cool looking gear in sPvP so when they come in sPvP they look like crap compared to you.
You cant have it all ways, if you wanna look good outside of sPvP then you need to invest the time.
The shoe shouldn’t have to be put on the other foot… and you CAN have it both ways. I’ve already “invested the time”, I have more hours played than most the level 80’s in this game.
The people who earn gear in WvW or PvE SHOULD be allowed to wear it in the Mists… cosmetically. Gear you earn should be able to be worn ANYWHERE, there shouldn’t be two sets of gear for two different places.
It’s ridiculous and has never been done on another game. It’s taking the genre backwards a step.

This is the problem with america these days. I DESERVE EVERYTHING FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER. Seems to be translating over to mmos as well….strange…..
Go earn your pve gear like they did. Then they can earn sPVP gear whenever they come to play sPVP.
I’ve been seeing a lot of complaints about certain things being OP, just a lot of complaining and at first I agreed and kittened along with everyone else. But after playing my warrior for a solid 5 hours and learning his strengths and other professions the PVP is awesome. Give the game some time to learn. It’s not like any multiplayer you’ve ever played so you really can’t apply other mmo tactics to the multiplayer. Just give it some time learn the game and you’ll eventually start seeing the multiplayer is pretty good.
I do think a few things could be improved upon though. It’s not perfect but it’s really not as bad as a lot of people are making it out to be.
- levels should be awarded for wins and not for amount of glory so people will actualy try to win
This by itself would make the pvp so much better. Think of what league of legends and starcraft 2 both have. To get the max amount of whatever you’re looking for you have to win. Starcraft you have to win to rank up, league of legends if you win you get more IP points then if you lose. With no incentive to win the game it turns games into a mashed zergfest with people not caring if they win or lose, only if they get as many glory points as possible. Kind of like a game of call of duty. Just random idiots running around killing each other for no reason.
The problem right now is the mode at hand. Conquest. Its not even like other games and their CP maps. In TF2 for example, there is only one point you can be focusing on at any time. Here, there are multiple. One little detachment can change the game drastically. Conquest is basically meant for zerging since there are so many variables involved.
What we need are more narrow and straightforward modes, like the Control Point thing I mentioned. For example, in Nifhel, the Red team should not be able to take the Mine (Blue’s closest point) unless they have the Keep. This means that instead of having fighting spread out everywhere, its kept close together. There would be more team battles because of this.
All in all, conquest is just a very broken mode. What we need is stuff like
Defend the Dolyak: Guard a Dolyak merchant to his final destination. Opposing team will try and kill the Dolyak’s team. Dolyak cannot be killed, but will not move unless team mates are nearby. The more teammates that are near, the faster the Dolyak moves (Yeah, this isn’t anything new)
Control Point: I already talked about this!
Capture the Flag…gon: Work your way to enemy base. Steal their Gwen mini-pet. Complain that mesmers are OP as a Guardian flies back home with leap of faith.
I think he hit the nail on the head. This explains why I don’t like control point maps in fps games either.
Maybe even an attack and defend game mode?
From what I remember of GW1 pvp, you stand there with your enemy trading blows. No thanks.
That’s not the gw1 I remember… And I was playing it competitively up until the gw2 release.

Zerging means to have lots of people attack together. Conquest discourages zerging because there are multiple points to maintain. Your suggestions would only increase zergging by having singular locations where everyone would meet up at and fight for.
Sure you could zerg. But a team that’s working together using strategy would trump a zerging team every time. If you’ve ever played team fortress 2 you’d see that whenever you’re playing in an 8v8 or 10v10 you can zerg, but the team that uses all the classes in a strategic effective way will win 95% of the time.

PvP is a major cluster kitten, and I fear the future if it remains this way.

Agree. Idk if there’s much they can do about it though.
Get rid of it. It takes away almost all satisfaction of getting a kill in pvp and like said before It makes it pretty much impossible to win in a 1v2 situation.
Is there any news on what’s going on with the performance issues? I’d really like to play world versus world at some point soon.
You can use your PVE gear in WvW
I was just going to post a topic about this. It’s extremely bad in under water areas whenever you get surrounded by enemies after killing off half of them to start with.
I’m looking for a guild that is active and social just to make some friendships and enjoy the game a bit more.
Whats up everyone. I’m looking for some players to join me and some friends guild. We’re relatively small right (4 members) now, but we play quite frequently. We range from age 18-24.
We’re looking for players that are social and open to playing in groups. If you like to primarily solo or you’re the type that joins a guild and never has any input towards the guild don’t bother. We want active players, who can positively contribute to the guild. We’re primarily a group just looking to have fun learning the game together. Hoping to maybe get into some structured guild pvp or WvW once we get some more play time and members.
We’d prefer if you were from erradon terrace homeworld. If you’re interested send me a pm. Skype is pretty much mandatory because that’s where we talk.
CPU: Amd athlon II x3 425 @ 2.70 ghz OC’d to 3.15 ghz
GPU: Amd Radeon HIS 5770 running driver version 12.8
Memory: 3 gb ddr2 sdram 800 mhz
OS: Windows 7 64 bit SP1I’m averaging about 30 fps, it will drop down to about 20 fps in certain areas such as divinity’s reach or ares with a lot of open space or on screen characters. WvW isn’t going above 15 fps as soon as I get within the reach of a battle and turning my graphics settings down really isn’t effecting anything. My gpu isn’t going above a 40% load even whenever I’m getting 5 fps. Adjusting the graphics settings isn’t doing anything for me either. FPS remains the same.
