Casinos tend to have some kind of loyalty card that a player will insert into the various slot and table games and accumulate reward points so yes a frequent player at a casino does invest in a casino for walking away means walking away from their loyalty reward points.

No, there’s a “bug” since the last patch where it only shows the lowest 20 sale prices. The 152 is the total number of items in that block of 20 prices while 872 is the total on sale. This means those 720 items have been priced higher than the price of the 20th price on that list.

Only problem I found with usb thumb drives is that they are formated with FAT32 file system which limits the maximum file size to 4GB so the dat file can’t be copied unless you split it first. File compression software usually have an option just to split a file into “standard media” sizes. I had to break it up into a mess of 700MB files (CD size) and reassemble it on the target computer (again using file compression software – I used 7zip).

Transmutation stones are relatively common, you can get them by map completions. I’ve never bought any and I have 75. True, 75 isn’t enough if you are upgrading your armor every few levels.

Does this help at all?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Crafting
1) Materials have minimum ratings. If your crafting rating isn’t high enough to use it, you don’t see it even if you have it.
2) As you increase your rating certain basic recipes will become available. Others you can learn by buying recipes. Always check any of the quest providers (guys with the heart) once you finished them, some sell recipes for Karma. So do crafting masters. Others you will need to find via the discovery process. Note it won’t tell you which ingredient you are missing. Some mats can only be bought from crafting masters such as water or tin.
3) Only Jewelers refine copper into ingots. However a number can make bronze if you buy tin.
4) It is an account wide bank for materials. You can send stuff there while in the field via the options button (gear) on your inventory screen. Select “Deposit all Collectables” and all crafting materials are sent there. Maximum is 250 per item.
5) No. When crafting anything on you or in the the collection tab will be usable via the production or discovery tab. You do not need to put materials into the bank. This is only true with materials, sub assembles need to be in inventory to work, like sword hilt or staff head, and not the bank.

All else fails, YouTube. When I’ve used it what I usually find out is that one “tricky” jump IS the only way to complete it and it’s just a matter of trying again (and again and again…).

New major patches, like the one we got Tuesday, will always have a number of minor patches to fix problems that didn’t show up until the player base gets their hands on it. This will happen every single time a major patch comes out in every MMO I’ve ever played.
I have no idea why people are surprised by this.
RIP City of Heroes
Yea, except for dungeons, there is little need to form teams. Usually it’s just who ever is in an area when an event is triggered or just passing though dynamically team up to take whatever down and then everyone goes off to do their own thing until the next event. I occasionally see groups of players from the same guild go off together but it’s very different than other MMOs I play.
And yes trying to get two words out of someone else in chat is challenging. Normally the map channel is just full of “witty” commentary than conversation.

BLCs have always been RNG based. So when they added the skins to them what did you all think it would be like? A skin every other time on average?
RIP City of Heroes
It wasn’t advertised as included. It was advertised as being added to the rather large existing drop table for chests.
Even if the odds are 10%. With 25 keys/chests there is still a 7.2% chance of not getting one. If the odds are only 5% the chance of not getting one goes up to 27.7% with 25 chests.

Take some initiative and go explore. Bring up your map, look for the adjacent zone that matches your level and go there. Or explore your home city and then head to Lion’s Arch and explore there. Or from there go to any other race’s home city and check out their low level zones.
Now I’m on Jade Quarry, a rather populous server and there are always other players flitting about.

Where did they say that these skins were going to be a common item found in the chests? Oh wait, they didn’t.
The community has been asking for skins to buy outright. But instead we get gambling chests.
Oh I agree, being a former CoH player, outfits were a big part of that game. A way to feel unique.
But my statement still stands. They announced in the patch notes that these weapon skins are now added to the rewards that you can get from a BLC but at no time they implied it’ll be as common as, say, heavy bag of coins or even an unidentified dye.
Now I wasn’t here the last time they had skins fall from chests so I don’t know if now it’s extremely uncommon as oppose to Halloween or Lost Shores.

Simple. It would make a single character wielding AoE attacks insanely powerful if they can hit everyone in the target region. Get a couple of such characters together and they can recreate the fight in 300 anywhere.
That’s why there’s a cap on number of affected by an AoE attack.

15 chests and no tickets. Seriously… that’s really low rate and I really hate myself for spending money on such a waste. This really discourages me from playing and especially PAYING. Next time, I will think about my money more wisely…
:-(
If there was a 10% chance, with only 15 chests you still wouldn’t find any 20.6% of the time.
If the chance was 1%, with only 15 chests you have an 86% chance of not getting one.
The rate appears by the anecdotal reports to be leaning toward the 1% chance rather than 10%.

Personally I think it’s a way to box up their western properties so if they don’t succeed as well as they would like they could put the whole thing up for sale.
RIP City of Heroes
Note that Maw may not be right since this latest patch changed up the the spawn rate of the event. I’m not sure if the dragon timers have been changed yet to the new rate.

Since NCSOFT is based in Korea and they have wholly owned subsidiaries abroad like ArenaNet or NC Japan I think that satisfies the definition of multinational corporation.
Actually i think NCsoft sold all shares and made a new company based here in the US to handle US/EU company related things. Not sure the whole story though, but they definitely still are everywhere.
They sold off NC Interactive to a new entity, NC West Holdings, that NCSOFT also own in totality. They folded local control of Carbine and ArenaNet under it as well. This formalizes a paper entity called NC West that they created back when they virtually dismantled NC Europe and NC Austin and moved them to Seattle a few years back. The idea is to have a unified strategy to market their games outside of Asia as well as develop games in the west that would also be popular in Asia.

Nobody every claimed that a BLC guaranteed anything good. Ever. When I first showed up here a couple months back there were threads, one that I participated in, that discussed how BLC, their keys actually, weren’t worth the price in actual money or gold. But much like a lottery ticket there is a chance, a small chance, that you could get something awesome from one. And that’s enough to drive some people to play. The trick is to find something awesome to many people and advertise it. And they succeeded, wildly so if the Gold→Gem spike is any indication, with these weapon skins.
Then again it’s like those 50 cent toys capsule toys by the candy and gum machine at the market. Sure you want the one thing that attracts your eye but it’s never a guarantee. You want that big rubber spider or pirate tattoo (temporary) or that cute unicorn key chain, but you don’t. So next week you go to the store you try again.
And yes, it’s a form of gambling. But one that society turns a blind eye to. In Japan there are entire stores with just “Gashapon”, capsule toy, dispensers. Then there are the blind box toys. Here is a box, it could contain any of these 5 little toys you see on the back of the box from some anime series or sport (I have little Toho Kaiju monsters sitting on my monitor), only 500 yen per box. Good luck not getting any duplicates.

You get a skill point every time you earn enough to level, even if you are level 80 the XP bar still fills and empties forever. You can also earn skill points at the various skill point challenges around the world, they are found at the cyan arrow thingy on the map. Believe me it doesn’t take too long to unlock all of the skills but on the way up choose wisely since you can’t respec them.
Traits on the other hand as others pointed out can be reassigned for a “small” fee.

Hi
I havent played mmo´s in ages and the last and only one I played was City of Heroes/Villains.
As such i have some questions I hope to get answered1. Difference in races? Are some better at some classes or not? Is the difference only story related or is there a reason to go with a specifiq race?
2. Classes. What to choose. I used to play and prefere Blasters in CoH and Corrupters in CoV. Anyone know what I mean and what would be the most like that here?
3. What effect does the choices in the charachter creation do. (background and temper)
4. Is there a real tutorial or is the first mission the tutorial?
Cheers
2) As a former CoH player myself I’m going to say Elementalist is closest to a Blaster.
3) Branching Personal Story. There are a series of missions (keeping with the CoH lingo) that lead you to different zones.
4) No tutorial really. There’s the video “online manual” and the official wiki.
I’m playing a Mesmer which also has a great many range attacks, depending on the weapon although swords are melee (but oddly not a greatsword which acts as a beam weapon).

Some people have a lot of gold and convert a bit everyday into gems. No need to spend big bucks. Also there was a sale over the weekend on keys.

Which Short-Bow, there’s like a dozen around that rating level.
And the Short-Bow Stave you made is a Soft Short-Bow Stave if it’s a 75 rating one. Is the inscription also made from a soft wood dowel, an XXXXX Soft Inscription?
RIP City of Heroes
It can, you just have to be reasonable with your expectations, that’s all.
It’s a kitten site better than an Intel HD 4000 graphics.

Define OK? And I’m assuming the integrated graphics.
1920×1080, 60fps, highest settings. No.
30fps@1600x900 and medium settings, possible. You may want to experiment as some individual settings on high don’t impact performance as much as others. DDR3-1833 memory is very helpful if you are looking at a box stuck with DDR3-1333.
Have it not be a slide show during a dragon event or the maw event. Yea, right. Good luck with that with a top end rig with an Intel i7 desktop CPU and a $300+ video card much less an A10-5800K.

I’m only surprised that buy orders don’t have listing fees.
I’m not. Buyers have the gold. You want them to buy stuff from other players to siphon some of that gold into the void. But you don’t want to remind them of that so you take the sales fee in transit to the seller. This way on the surface it’s no different to the buyer than buying from a vendor. Pay money get stuff.

GW2 spidy doesnt help at all, as it’s not realistic. No one actually buys those items. But you can still try
Well you do still need to make sure demand outstrips supply. Also you can’t simply build 10 of one thing and put them all up at the same time. Make one of a few different profitable items and sell them.
Also don’t expect it to be a literal gold mine. You aren’t going to make piles of gold every night. But a couple of gold per week is possible.
RIP City of Heroes
Of course this assumes all dyes are weighted equally. That there is exactly the same chance of getting one worth 1g as one worth only 1s.
As far as we know each fine has a weight of 10, every master 5 and every rare 1.
RIP City of Heroes
I use GW2Spidy to determine what I can craft that is profitable. Especially if I should craft everything or buy subassemblies from the TP so I can maximize my profit.
I imagine someone really into it would take it a step farther and get bids in for raw materials as an even lower price.

Why do people still believe MMO developers are still trying to make a “WoW killer”?
WoW is simply too big, too ingrained to possibly “kill” with another MMO. WoW makes a lot of money, every year, and with that kind of war chest they can pay retailers so their game is always on the store shelf. They can pay for TV spots. They can advertise just like any other company with a product that brings in close to a billion dollars a year.
It’ll be like a new car company trying to compete with GM or Ford.
Any new MMO can’t challenge that. All any MMO can do in regards with WoW is to fight for those churning out of WoW until it’s next expansion and a subscription free model is the only way to go while B2P is the only way to pay off the development cost.

Going on Sale
0250z Mar 23 – 2g2s59c per 100 Gems

Sale over
0250z Mar 24 – 2g26s91c

The 5% listing fee has been discussed multiple times here.
Now I may be fortunate, I’ve never had anything take longer than a week to sell. The 5% fee has multiple purposes besides a gold sink including encouraging sellers to price their goods at a price that will entice buyers as oppose a price to bilk buyers of as much coin as possible.
As I said it’s been talked about multiple times and I wouldn’t be surprised if this thread gets merged into the one we had last week.

Even phenon 2 × 4 and x6 are much better than fx and vishera, anyway i dont thing gw2 is optimised to amd users as i know. )wrong… while windows maybe not optimized for AMD processors the newest Vishera core is def faster then any of the older Phenom/Phenom 2 series chips.
none of the current AMD processors would have any trouble running gw2 maxed out since its nearly all GPU bound, and matters nothing of what processor your using so much as what GPU and the amount of memory you have/using (as in is it an ideal amount for what you need it to do).

http://hothardware.com/Reviews/AMD-FX-8350-Vishera-8Core-CPU-Review/?page=1
and keeping in mind synthetic benchmarks and what a application tells you your getting with regards to FPS ( frames per second ) real world playing and smoothness do not translate to the same things.
the CPU plays a very very minor roll in gaming within reason most synthetics checking CPU performance setup the test in a way to put more pressure on the CPU, in reality playing normally this will never occur and you would not be able to physically tell gaming if you were using a Intel i3/5/7 or an AMD APU/FX while playing any game provided they were using similar graphics/memory amounts-speed and chipsets.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/guild-wars-2-performance-benchmark,3268-7.html
Problem is a lot of people, including AMD marketing it appears, overlook the fact the Bulldozer/Piledriver architecture was designed to pit one FX module (two cores) to one Intel SB/IB core when they are loaded with two threads. FX’s major problem is if an FX module is only running one thread, it is much weaker than an Intel SB/IB core running one thread.
Also AMD for some reason always has a bad time with graphics compared to the last few generations of Intel. I’m wondering if the inclusion of the PCIex16 graphics interface on Intel’s CPUs simply eliminates a bottleneck that is still present in AMD since the graphics card interfaces to the AMD Northbridge and the Northbridge is then connected to the AMD CPU.
Of course if you crank up the settings in some games until the GPU is the bottleneck, then it really doesn’t matter whose CPU you use. Metro for instance will have mediocre performance regardless unless it’s a multiple GPU rig.

have you even… read this thread?
Yes, even you said …
just think… you could be travelling tyria on a savage land dragon! would that be kick kitten
and …
… this is the case not because of travel efficiency, but the sheer awesomeness of riding mammoths, flying carpets, mechanical chickens, or even just horses. To me, Mounts really add to the development of the player and characters relationship(as corny and weird as that sounds) so I think that they would make this game so much more cooler.
The only useful purpose for a mount is the speed travel. Beyond that it’s simply for show. So you are looking for a significant change to the game (unless we all auto dismount as soon as we attack or are attacked) just to be showy.
As I said, sexy sports car of the fantasy MMO genre.
