I would be really happy if Anet simply remove all the crappy and arcaic RNG involved in the legendary craft so we could trace a goal and reach it with our own efforts instead of getting it trough “luck”.
C’mon Anet, make a recipe for these precursors, a recipe that is worth, lets say, 50g in order to make it, and i guess people will be happy.
Guess what my dear pvp peon, i’m only doing this jumping puzzle because Anet requires me to get 500 badges so that stupid weaponsmith understands that i somehow “mastered” the WvW part of the game and then give me the kitten Gift of Battle, used to make the Gift Of Mastery on the mystic forge.
IF you had skipped the puzzle and ran with a zerg doing WvW you would get those badges A LOT faster.
If anything, I hope they remove the badges and just have blueprints in that chest.
Diminishing return system affects badge looting, wich means that after 5 or 6 badges, i will be getting like 1 at every 30 kills.
Am I the only one that hopes that everybody that q’s WvW to do jumping puzzles and farm nodes deserves to griefed in the mouth for eternity?
Go do PVE tasks in a PVE zone. If you’re getting griefed in WvW because you’re wasting space in the q for someone that wants to affect the scoreboard, then you probably deserved to get ballistad to death.
Go pick daisy’s in a PVE zone and let someone into WvW that is there to play WvW.

Idgaf about those blueprints, i have like 20 blueprints of each tipe of siege weapon on my bank and i dont plan on using these soon, i just wanna get these stupid badges and never set foot on that jumping puzzle again, they can either remove the blueprint loot from the chest or change the currency used to buy’em and i’ll be fine.
People here saying that “its fine” or “i have no problem with it” surely are the ones who either do it or never felt it in their own HP bars.
Stay out of designated PvP areas (sPvP, WvW) if you do not wish to PvP
Problem solved.
What if i tell you that i simply want to make the jumping puzzle and get outta there?

I agree with the OP, griefing in the jumping puzzle is ruining the game experience for many people.
Ask everyone to get out the dungeon, remake the party, and then only 1 person enters in the dungeon, the other ones must port in using the dungeon invite the system sends to their screens.
Looks like people didnt actually read what i wrote, so let me clarify it.
1) I did my first dungeon run with an entire group of full exotic 80’s = run was fine (even with some struggle on the lieutenant, but fine)
2) All the following runs (4 to this present day) were made with, errr, “common” people lets say, varying from level to level, gear to gear were all a disaster due to the lack of power to deal with specific events in the dungeon (i.e burrow zerging).
@Lucas: Where did i said that i was “maxed”? My gear was entirely bought on the AH.
Also, start a game by making a particular environment accessible only to a small part of its population score points toward the failure of said game, real examples are scattered everywhere trough the MMORPG history.
So, it has been 2 days since i started looking for groups in order to run AC explorable mode so i could farm some pwn tokens and get some cool looking gear.
My toon is not that bad, its a level 80 warrior with a exotic GS and a full set of lvl 80 rare armor. Nothing compared to all these warrior that bug-farmed CoF and got their full exotic crit damage gear in one day, but the damage is good.
First group i got in was composed by 2 warriors, a mesmer, and a ranger all of them being level 80 on full CoF gear, result: we steamrolled the dungeon, completing each path in less than 30 minutes, as a casual player, i got really excited with the ease it was to complete the dungeon and was really looking forward for the next day when i could do 3 more daily runs, how innocent i was…
My second, third, and fourth groups were all composed by non full CoF’ed people, with all level ranges and such, result: we lacked the power to complete the burrow events on both (iirc) howling king and colossus path, we tried everything, retraited into different specs, tried all possible group splits, nothing worked.
This resulted on a endless wipe chain (i can count 30 or more wipes) before we all gotkitten with that situation, started blaming the game and the stupid devs that designed that dungeon and (surely) never set a foot into that place before release so they could realize what a hell they’ve made for people that dont have end-game cough bug-farmed cough gear.
The final result of all this mess was:
1) A ton of money on repair bills.
2) About 2 hours lost wiping and wiping and wiping.
3) One less person motivated to do pugs.
Its sad, but from this day all my attempts of doing a explorable mode dungeon are going to be preceded by invites on my guild asking for something that until now, i didnt believed to be needed in this game: minimum gear quality requirement.
To finish this, i wonder if Anet really expect that a bunch of effective-level 35 people will group together and finish an explorable mode on AC (this might also applies to all the other dungeons and their respective exploration levels).
So are burrows easier to destroy? What makes it easier no on the Collosus(sp) path?
A party full of people with 80’s exotics.
Agreed, i just took a look at it, ignore what i’ve said, lol.
The abundance of butter is being balanced by the abundance of chocolate dropped. Now if theres butterchoclate too, we are screwed
Lol’ed hard.
Btw, this post on reddit has some great “info” already, the OP there is doing a nice job updating it periodically http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/zi066/legendary_weapon_great_sword_twilight_material/
I was on a pretty decent guild (6/8H before the nerfs) and their first pair of legendary daggers took 4 months, 2 months for each stage.
Your point being? Even if it had been out for 12 months and you decided today that you wanted to make a weapon you would still have to spend 50-60 days of playing 12+ hours a day to get one.
WoW Rogue’s legendary daggers on cataclysm used to take like 4 months of a straight forward “grind” on the last tier raid, so whats your point regarding the time it takes to get the most “high-end” item?
Sup dear crafters, since every day i see a bunch of Dusk/Dawn of rage being placed on the trading post, i was wondering wich are the recipes for these two Greatswords :O, i did some research on reddit but didnt found any acccurate info regarding this matter =(
I love hundred blades, while leveling you just have to do the right pull and you’ll be able to snowball a great number of enemies with it
Problem solved by reseting my winsock:
RESET WINSOCK****************************************
To perform a Winsock reset please try the steps below:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and then hit the R key. This should bring up the Run dialog box.
2. Type “cmd” without the quotes, and click “OK”. This should open a command prompt window.
3. Type “netsh winsock show catalog >C:\LSP.txt” without the quotes. This will save a file to the root of your C drive called LSP.txt.
4. Once complete, type “netsh winsock reset” without the quotes. When the command is completed successfully, a confirmation appears, followed by a new command prompt line.
5. Close the command prompt and restart your PC.
6. Once back into Windows, try running the game again.
This is ridiculous, no word from a red regarding this issue the whole day, and the support just sends me template answers without even reading my logs or my post.
I’ve been receiving this problem now for two days already, i’ve tried almost everything to solve it (funny thing is, i didnt changed anything on my computer, and i was playing just fine):
1) disabled avira, firewall, windows defender.
2) Forwarded all GW2 ports (including the unsafe 80 one) on both modem (D-Link DSL 500g IV) and router (Multilaser ML_ROT_054).
3) Connected directly on modem, no router involved.
4) Tried the /clientport 80 workaround, no results.
So, since i was playing just fine 2 days ago without ANY port forwarding at all, i’m pretty sure the problem lies on Anet end and some change on their systems peraphs broke my (and some other people that i’ve seen reporting this issue both on the forums and facebook) connection to their servers.
Btw, i’m attaching both GameAdvisor and -diag tests here to see if you guys could figure somethign out.
Sorry, but i’ll have to bump this, i’m having the exact same problem as the OP in this present moment. I dont even have to say that i’ve already:
1) Shut down my firewall, windows defender, and avira.
2) Forwarded GW2 ports on both the modem and the router.
3) Connected my computer directly on the modem.
4) Restarted the computer (thats what usually solved the problem, but today this is no longer happening)
Here are my “-log” and GameAdvisor tests.
