Invig Precision, my favorite trait, is receiving a nice buff

Yes, i love that stupid trait, though i still think the way to make it on par with the other two is to make it give you a passive bonus to precision in addition to the on crit heal.

Still can’t complain about this buff it is stronk, the trait will probably be useful in dungeons where executioner is not too noticeable like cleaving weak mobs that die fast anyway or the first two subject alpha encounters where he escapes at ~40% hp.
In situations like those having the heals to keep up your scholar rune might be better than executioner, maybe, possibly.

For max damage it won’t be better than executioner even if you can maintain +90% of your health 100% of the fight. 20% more damage 50% of the time is equivalent to 10% more damage 100% of the time. So with executioner you have the equivalent of + 10% damage for the whole fight + 10% damage while you have more than 90% health from the scholar runes.

But that’s assuming that you never get downed in the fight.

I’ll just talk about a little part of what this can be in the future: rewards.
Let’s say we get hypotetical leagues:

Quaggan 1,2,3
Bear 1,2,3
Phoenix 1,2,3
Dragon 1 (only one because it would be the last one? I’m not getting into that :P)

Then, based on that these leagues are in order (quaggan is the “newbie” league; dragon the “pro” league) it should have different rewards at the end of the season. I don’t find “fair” that only top 150 players will get season rewards, because:

1. Solo Arena is not a thing anymore and I’m OK with that, but for people who like to play Solo or Duo will have a really rough time to reach top 150.

2. Experienced teams (and future new teams of course) will have an “advantage” at getting to these ranks (Coordination and Teamwork OP).

Yeah, sure it will encourage players to don’t play solo and form teams with other PvPers, but sometimes people don’t have the time to do that or simply they don’t want to play on a Team. So if you had these leagues (they should be based on MMR to make everyone start “at the right spot” on every season) you could make special rewards for it. For example you could say:

“Quaggans get 5g, 2 unidentified dyes and 5 champ boxes”

“Dragons get 100g, 5 unidentified dyes, one minillama (it has to be there!), … and one original – PvP exlusive – piece of armor”.

These are simple examples. The point I’m trying to make is that structuring PvP in Leagues like that, it would make everyone get rewards (even if they are few) but still rewarding top players with something unique, something that makes people recognise them like finishers, armor (or even weapon!) skins.

So that’s everything I wanted to tell. Leagues to make everyone get some rewards (because they play PvP) and make the top PvPers get unique rewards (because they play PvP at a “professional” level).

Keep these changes going Justin (and Anet Team), I like them very much, you (Anet Team) almost got that MM problems and good luck everyone with the experimental season, cheers ^^.

Be careful. A bunker res thief is some OP BS in 3v3. You might wanna ban soldier’s on thief. I could see a dream comp of Res Thief, DD ele and burster just wiping the floor with everyone.

Theorycrafting a ‘res thief’ build, all I can see are traits to stealth allies when you start to revive, and grant regen when you stealth allies.

Why would you build for such a marginal bonus to reviving when Shadow Refuge pretty much does all the things that a ‘res thief’ can?

You forgot 50% less damage while in stealth + mercy runes + regen. If the other team hasnt good condition damage probably they wouldn t be able to prevent the ressing.

If they don’t change it, if im not mistaken, someone could even get to the leader boards with 0% wins… Even if there s no one with 0 wins now, it s just wrong that it s a possibility in my opinion.

If someone never wins a match eventually their odds of winning will be always 0-39%, so as long as they can get more than 300 points they can keep climbing the leaderboards.

A group of decent to good players can troll the lb getting to the top with 0 wins if they want.

To explain it better if a group of 5 good players lose on purpose eventually they mmr will be so low that their odds of winning will be so low also. And they will always play against players that are new to pvp or that aren t in a full team. So they could keep getting +1 or + 2 if they get to 400 and then let the other team win.

I dont think that someone will try it, but even if no one does it, it feels bad to know that it s technically possible that someone get to the top with 0 wins.

Now that they made some of the NPE unlocks account bound, I hope they make the traits unlock account bound. This system is really bad for the people that almost only play w vs w and pvp.

I feel that if you want to make a toon just for w vs w you are screwed. Because you have to grind pve so you can play with you character in w vs w or you have to use an insanely amount of skill points.

Eviscerate is on a minimum 7 second cooldown. Put a cd on backstab. See, that’s not how it works.

For pvp with d +p
Revealed lasts 4 sec in pvp + the time it takes to enter stealth, with the combo is near 1 sec because of the cast times + 9 initiative cost(or utilities with high cd) + the time it takes to position to hit on the sides or the back + the risk of hitting from the front.

There was 7 DC in a math 4 form my team and 3 from the other. When I managed to reconnect some players were still dc and the match was almost over. Next match I also got DC tried over and over again to reconnect and when i finally did it the match was over.

When I got back one of my teammates was still DC I asked the other and the didnt know who has won, he got DC also, it wasnt a full team.

It would be really disappointing if those are all the changes, specially if you compare it to other professions.
I don t mind about the nerfs but I was expecting to get useful things also.

As forum members expressed in this thread, we feel that a player mapping multiple actions to one key — for example mapping an attack and a self-heal type skill to a single keystroke — would have an advantage over a person playing the game as designed, with one keystroke per action.

Our policy is that we cannot approve such uses, but I can say that from what I’m reading, what you have described does not appear to be a matter of concern because you are not “cutting corners” by trying to get a series of actions on a single key.

I hope that is helpful information.

Using macros (which by definition is assigning multiple key strokes to one key) is a violation of the GW2 TOS. You even confirm it here on this thread…

You can map 1 button to 1 action, you can also map 2 buttons pressed together to 1 action that s not against the TOS. What you can t do is 1 button to multiple actions.

2 to 1 ok because it s the same as if you bind in game an action to shift + another key so L2 + O for 1 action should be ok, not an advantage.

Yes, please tell me! Lol I have been wanting to play Gw2 with a controller for some time now, but I hesitate because I didn’t see a way to move the camera around and because there wouldn’t be enough buttons to use all the functions I needed. =/ I’m glad that you were able to come up with a good solution though, I am actually encouraged to give try again with the controller.

It s easy, you can map the right joystick to click + mouse movement, you can even adjust the speed of the mouse movement and the treshold to start detecting a movement from the joystick.

I have that configured for my ps3 controller although it would be nice if someone from Anet can confirm if it s ok to do it.

Honestly, I’m kind of looking forward to it. Birthday boosters etc and a new mini but the thing I would really really like is 1 lvl 80 scroll or some 20lv scrolls that can be used at any level. As an avid WvW player, I dont really like to level characters or involve myself in PvE too much. it certainly would save some time and effort.

I think I would prefer an all traits unlock scroll or better if they remove the unlock system for the old traits.

At least you can level up by playing normally W vs W, but you can’t unlock the traits playing W vs W.

I think that the solution is that if you have equipped sunrise and twilight and try to make eyernity with those weapons then eternity should be created account bound.

But if you don’t equip sunrise or twilight, then when making eternity it shoulb be account bound on use, not when you get it.

This way you avoid the exploit and people are still able to make eternity for selling it.

This is dumb. Since they’ll lock GM traits until level 80, why is it “based on your level”? O.o?lol.

It ’ s not dumb, it ’ s based on your level because of level scaling. So if your character is level 80 but you are in a lower level area you won t get 200 extra power.

Warrior fastests in PVE, Thief fastest in WvW. Theif can do both but will need help in Orr and frostgorge. Warrior can do both but you will have to run with the zerg or take your chances in WvW.

Got map complete on my thief and I have no idea where in Orr you think a thief may need ‘help’. Since there’s no heart quests, you can just run past stuff and anything difficult to kill can just be stealthed past.

Skill challenges.

Skill challenges are really easy with the thief. I did both, Orr and frostgore with my thief alone, and I didn’t find a place were someone would need help. I don’t know where you think a thief may need help, but the truth is they dont need it, they are perfectly fine completing the maps by themselves.

I think they should “remove” the instabilities from the levels and add them as gambits. The higher the level, the more gambits you can add.

Also there should be a minimum and maximum gambits you can add per tier. And may be have tiers for the gambits.

For example for levels 31-40 you have to pick at least 1 gambit tier 1 and you can add a maximum of 3 tier 1 gambits, the more you add, the better the rewards. Then for levels 41-50 you can pick a maximum of 5 gambits but you have to pick at least 2 tier 2 gambits, the other 3 are optional and can be tier 1 or 2, rewards adjusted depending on the number of gambits ans the tier of the gambits.

This exact request has been made many times. IndigoSundown gave the solid technical reasons why this won’t happen. Brace yourself for the gut reflex response you’re going to get from everyone who hates getting ganked (I’m one of them, but I’m not worried ANet will ever force me into a testosterone flame fest gank world).

They can make it like DC Universe Online, you can change between the pvp and pve server any time. Instead of villains and heroes they can make it by orders or something like that.

Rebalancing instabilities should definitely help with the issue. If they are tracking which instability completion they should be able to tweak them relatively easily.

But problem with lethal combinations would still remain. Some instabilities are quite ok on some maps but get on rampage on other maps. I can’t see anyone regularly doing these levels.

And what about if ANET makes that some maps can´t appear with some instabilities. We will always have some randomness in fractals because the levels you get are random but if they reduce the maps that you can get for some instabilities, may be it will be easier to balance and you won´t get that lethal combinations.

That would also give them more freedom creating the instabilities. Bacause if some instability is impossible in one map but ok in the others they could remove that map from the rotations in that particular level. So they could create some instabilities that would be impossible to implement with the system that we have now.

That system will also make it easier to add more maps.

As with all “add more random” ideas, these would just make fractals more luck based then skill based. They won’t be able to balance it. For example if the content was really hard people would just roll Swamp until they get Bloomhunger instead of Mossman. Imagine this happening mid-run. You end up with the hardest encounter. Reroll?

You are right, good point, but the way it is now, people just keep running the same instability. For example for tier 41-50 almost everyone only runs level 49, something needs to be done to encourage playing the other levels. Many people level up playing the same level.

May be it would be a good idea that the higher the level, the harder the instability will get, and eventually getting multiple instabilities. They would have to rearrange the order of the actual instabilities, and adjust the rewards not only per tier but also per level to avoid that only the lower levels of each tier get played when the instabilities are rearrenged.

So that way you get higher skill, higher rewards and it won´t be luck based. The problem is that the difficulty of some of the instabilities may be subjective and probably it will be hard to balance the difficulty vs rewards.

In my opinion water fractal should be tier 1 and 2 (only because probably no one plays it now and it´s a wasted fractal right now, most of the people just reroll until they got swamp) , cliffside should be tier 3 only (it’s easy but much longer than the other tier 2 fractals and you can get cliffside + dredge) and I think Volcano should be tier 2 and 3 and Aetherblade tier 2 and 3

And I think it would be better for fractals if Agony is changed to what it used to be, before you could do higher levels with low AR, now you need to grind the AR…

I think the fractured patch was bad for many fractal players, I used to play levels higher than 50 and now I don’t even have a chance to play level 50 now, because I don´t have the AR required. You should be able to get all the necessary AR to progress in fractals through fractals.

The fractal level reset was pointless, fractals aren´t harder, many of the instabilities you don´t even notice that they are there. And the excuse that it was to have an equal start for the leaderboards, the truth is that players with the gold to get enough AR were the ones that had a huge advantage, but ironically you don´t get many gold in fractals so probably the people that only used to play fractals since the release of them, were the ones that didn´t have enough AR…

Anyway the fractal leaderboards weren’t released and I think it was a bad idea to put a leaderboard that showed who got there first. It would only make sense to have a leaderboard in fractals if there was no cap.

Proposal overview

Tiered Rewards

Getting to different tiers unlocks more items that you can purchase with the fotm vendors. This items should ONLY be accessible if your personal level is in the tier required or higher. You shouldn’t be able to get this items outside from fractals.

Goal of Proposal

People will feel more rewarded for their level, they will have a nice way to show their mastery on fractals and how high in the tiers they have got and not that they got lucky with the RNG.

Proposal Functionality

Getting to different tiers unlocks more items that you can purchase with the fotm vendors. This items should ONLY be accessible if your personal level is in the tier required or higher. You shouldn’t be able to get this items outside from fractalas.

Level 21-30 unlocks boots and leggins (unique skins and if possible ascended)
Level 31-40 unlocks pouldrons and gloves (unique skins and if possible ascended)
Level 41-50 unlocks chest and helmet (unique skins and if possible ascended)
Level 51-60 weapons (unique skins different from the actual fractal weapons and if possible ascended)

Everytime you introduce a new tier you can add a new skin for that tier and /or other kind of items, may be a dye with particle effects, exclusive minis, exclusive tonics and others. Also you can add titles for each tier.

This will make people to keep interested in leveling up when you release higher levels and they will also feel rewarded for their level.

When glory gets removed, the vendors will also disappear and we will keep our chests until we open them, that’ s fine, but when we get the time to open the chests we will get many repeated skins and since there will be no glory nor vendor we won´t be able to salvage those skins unless we already have salvage kits stored.

So are you going to enable salvage kits from pve to salvage pvp skins in the patch, or are you going to put an NPC that sells pvp salvage kits for some copper?? Have you aready considered this?, because it seems that if we don’t open the chests before the patch we will have to destroy everything repeated from the chests.

Skyhammer is my favourite map, and I do not want it to be removed. It´s the only map that really feels different from the others at least for me. Most of the time in solo queue you can plan with your team who is doing what while waiting for the game to start, that’ s the point of the /t chat. And if no one is taking the skyhammer during the game, why don’t you go yourself?

They are giving us new finishers according to where you are in the ladder though. I think this is an excelent excuse of getting rid of the not-so-finished finishers (everything from bear and up looks half kitten d imo) and implementing some really stunning visuals for the high end finishers.

I think the shark finisher looks pretty cool and you get it after bear, and the phoenix finisher is not bad.

But I think the ranks earned by exploiting should be removed also the people that got their rank with the skyhammer exploit shouldn’t be getting the special titles although that is just my personal opinion.

I think it would be nice if a medium armor version of those outfits are added to the game. Executioner’s would fit thieves and pirate can fit many classes. I know there is already a pirate armor, but it’s a different skin. What do you think?

I’m pretty sure leaps are meant to be effected by multiple factors. Your camera angle changes the leap distance, swiftness makes the leap longer and cripple and chill make the leap shorter. I’m not positive, but i believe its part of the game’s design.

I agree that leaps should be affected by swiftness and cripple and things that change speed, since they are supposed to affect movement. Actually the wiki says : “leaping increases the movement speed of the player to close the distance and is affected by swiftness, crippled, chilled, immobilized or any other effects that modify movement speed”

But I’m not sure that the camera angle changing the leap distance is part of the game design, I think that the camera angle should be just the point of view from where you’re looking the game and shouldn’t affect how skills work, but ANET is the only one that can clarify if it is intended or not. So may be you are right and it’s intended, we can´t know for sure if it’ s intended or not.

It’s also used to aim your leap. In this case thieves are just aiming their leap into the ground.

I know it’s used for aiming but it´s not the camera by itself that reduces the leap actually the camera is just the point of view as I have said. You attack in the direction that you are facing, but you use the camera to adjust the position that you are facing.

So when you aim normally the camera is not affecting the skills, but when you are facing down it works as you said I think, you are leaping into the ground so you get the leap reduced because of the collisions, and I’m not sure that it’s intended to work like that, at least not in flat terrains.

But I’m not sure that the camera angle changing the leap distance is part of the game design, I think that the camera angle should be just the point of view from where you’re looking the game and shouldn’t affect how skills work, but ANET is the only one that can clarify if it is intended or not. So may be you are right and it’s intended, we can´t know for sure if it’ s intended or not.

It’s not a bug.. what the hell are you on about? It’s a matter of controlling your Heartseekers, pretty much the same way you’d use any leap to improve your mobility (warriors doing their crazy leaps to sprint all over the place, eles using ride the lightning on no targets…)

The bug is that the camera angle affects the distance of the leap, and that´s a bug, the skills clearly states their range in their description, heart seeker range is 450 as you can read in the description of the skill. So if you get a range reduction because the camera
is facing down it’s a bug. Skilled or not it´s still a bug. In your example, warriors running away with leaps, I’m not sure but I think they are not altering the leap range with the camera.

What you are describing as a bug is about the only “skilled” part about D/P. The perma stealth you GAIN from it is the bug. Because at the start of the game there was said there wouldn’t be perma stealthing yet there is.. and it’s being “fixed” in such a bad way it affects other thieves who aren’t abusing stealth (anti stealth trap in almost all situations means you’re dead, the new ranger reveal trick… )

The perma stealth it’s not a bug, may be a bad game design but not a bug, a bug is something not working because of errors in the game. A smoke field + leap finisher = stealth, so if you use the combo many times you keep getting the effect, it´s working as intended, it’s just that ANET didnt think while making the game that people would use the leap though the smoke field many times in a row to stack stealth. Saying it´s a bug is like saying that might staking with a fire combo field and a blast finisher is a bug and we know it is not bug.

If you want to get the three heart seekers you have to point your camera straight down on the ground and try aim to make a box with your leaps at the very edge of the black powder ring. If you are still struggling with it tomorrow I’ll make a small video guide.

You don´t need the camera glitch (reduced hs distance) for 3 heart seekers, you only need the camera trick if you want 4 hs.

You can have perma stealth completely legit, as I have said you can use 3 hs through the black powder without using the camera glitch. And there are many ways to do that, the easiest one is to lay down the bp, then hs then 180° turn and hs twice, you even have enough time to change your direction for the 3° hs to end in the direction that you want.

It’s not a glitch? And I highly recommend using the camera technique because it allows to actually stay in position vs the 180 degree technique.

But as i have said, if you don´t use the camera reduced leap, you are not glitching you are just using the combo multiple times as you can do it with every other combo. Although may be someday they will change infusion of shadow to prevent perma stealth.

I didn´t say the 180° is better, I agree with you that the camera technique is better, I said there are many ways to do it and just pointed out the easiest one (it doesn´t require any practice, any one can do that) but to get 4 hs in the black powder you need to point your camera straight down on the ground as you said because that reduces the distance of the hs leap.

I wouldn´t like the return part removed, you lose a lot of utility that way, like fast traveling to help in another cap point or escaping.

I think it would be better if they make the stun break activate while casting (so the stunbreak part is instant cast as it was before) but the teleport part activates only after finishing the cast. If you dodge or cancel the casting or if you get interrupted(after the stun break activates), the skill gets on CD but with a reduced CD , like 8 to 12 seconds less.

Lol, more than 13 k views and more than 600 replies. I hope Anet makes more ways to get ascended weapons, crafting is the most boring thing in the game, at least for me. I wish when they release ascended armor it won´t be like weapons. It would be nice if they release some “hard” content and make the armors available through that content and not another grind.

As you can see in the bolded words I was giving my opinion. I have never said that I don´t like ascended, I just don´t like the way weapons were released.

You said the people that are happy are playing the game, the thing I like most in the game are fractals and pvp, most of my time in the game has been in fractals, I was happy with ascended rings and fractal capacitors when they were released because I could acquire them doing the things that I liked of the game but even then I knew it wasn´t fair fot the people that didn´t like fractals. There should be many ways to get them.

So I´m actually playing the game, playing the things that I like and I have all ascended trinkets. I got them doing things that I liked but for the ascended weapons I have to rely on luck with the drops, because I really find crafting so boring and I think leveling crafting to 500 it’s just a grind.

forcing people into only one way to get a new gear tier is not a good way to make crafting worth it. Introducing lots of awesome new weapon and armor skins that only crafters could make is a good way to do it. A new gear tier should be accessible by various means.

I love fractals but I hate crafting =(, I guess no more AR for me unless I get a lucky drop although I don´t farm, I only have like 2 gold right now, so it´s very unlickely I get an ascended drop. Anyway, I don´t think they will unlock 50+ even levels with this update.

But if they unlock them and somehow make 50+ Maw survivable only with 50+ AR and not res tricks or other means to survive I’m going to get rally upset.

I take it you didn’t read the part where its slightly possible to get them as drops. Just because you don’t want to craft them doesn’t mean they will be handed to you, you have to work for them in some way be it crafting or killing things.

They don´t have to hand them to us, but they can make other ways to get them. Now it’s just crafting or luck…

In my opinion there should be many ways to get them, but they should make an exclusive awesome skin for crafting to make it worth crafting it instead of using other means.
