Also found this on the atlas. Seems like this will be the next big boss we will encounter (the evolution of the marionette). Maybe this on one side, possible evil entity scarlet unleashes from the depths on the otherside (we dont know for sure at this time). We in the middle, hehe ;-) Dont think this one will be on high heels though, without chains it will be very unstable :-) And we better bring major stability or get knocked back and down all over the place.

Nicely done. Samething what i did just before the apocalypse. Cruising true old lions arch and afterwords only that diabolical drill right on top of good old la 1.0 :-) Still remember hanging around there in gw 1, but it seems that even the ruins are just dust now :-)
That’s some beautiful artwork, didnt know that one. Would be perfect (in higher res) for a wallpaper :-)
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
Would be perfect for taking screenshots. And a free view would be even more perfect for this. And ofcourse for the jumping puzzles if you play a big norn or charr.
Hopefully Never. What value does a higher level Cap bring? Nothing but hours of mindless grind. There is something called a power curve. The point that more level brings nothing more, your level goes up, but so does the enemy’s level. What does that result in, besides precious rl time waisted? Nothing. The challinge doesnt become bigger. I remember the days when in games you had no leveling, only gaining new traits etc. And they where much more challinging than the games whe have nowadays.

A
I like the natural surounding the coastal line and the Big Rocks, The Caves, the Jumpin puzzles (especially the pirate one ) and ofcourse good old Lions Arch 1.0.
But The core city (Lions Arch 2.0) made out of pirate ships may burn to the ground hehe :-) Hope a Beautiful City made of stone will Arise out of its ashes (not shiny stile like Divinities Reach but more of a Castle(Fort) in the style of Pre Searing Ascalon GW1.
Or it gets lost forever and we get a nice Tengu city eventually or a new City on a new location.
As a sidenote, probably coincidence (or an inside joke :-) ). When Browsing the Behind the name site i stumbled upon the name Kasmeer. It has some odd meaning.
The first part means ‘destroy’ and the second ‘peace’ or ‘GREAT’….. Got a little eotn flashback here.
CASIMIR
GENDER: Masculine
USAGE: English
PRONOUNCED: KAZ-i-meer [key]
Meaning & History
English form of the Polish name Kazimierz, derived from the Slavic element kazic “to destroy” combined with mer “great” or mir “peace”. Four kings of Poland have borne this name, including Casimir III the Great, who greatly strengthened the Polish state in the 14th century. It was also borne Saint Casimir, a 15th-century Polish prince and a patron saint of Poland and Lithuania. The name was imported into Western Europe via Germany, where it was borne by some royalty.

You people are terrible. Two pages and not one thought spared for the poor Skritt of Lion’s Arch and the fate that might await them. And they’ve only just recovered from the horrors of Wintersday.
Rats are people too
Save the Skritt of Lion’s Arch!
Think the litte creatures like the scritt and the quagans have the best survival possibilities. Remember the Dino extintion and who outlived them. Little creatures :-) Think the Norn will have a thougher time. They will not be able to hide haha :-)
anyone post this yet?
Gotta love those movie refferences, hehe :-)
My theory is (going a little bit further then only the destruction):
-LA will be completely destroyed (by Scarlet and Co).
-On the ashes a domain of evilness will emerge
-A new sown evil pale tree will grow in size and strenght under influence of magical energy (leylines anyone?)
-There will be an exodus of the survivors into the dominion of winds (which will be opened up by the tengu who finaly made up their minds who the good the bad and the ugly are.)
-Behind the scenes a certain jungle dragon orchested the whole thing (with the use of a certain stubborn narcistic sylvary who has developed a split personality under his increasing influence.
-Somewhere in between all this events the Ceara side of the well known Sylvary will see and hate what she (the Scarlet side) has done (because its not her own will) but it will be too late too far. It won’t end well for her.
-And finaly, whe will be getting a new city and a new race (Tengu).
-And ofcourse a whole bunch of newly emerged evilness to fight.
-Lateron the Whole Maguma Wastes will be added.

Agreed. Was in Queensdale yesterday. Best described as the end of the walking dead s2. not to talk about the endless verbal abuse and childish behaviour. I see it as nothing more than exploiting the low level champs and the dynamic loot system.
Agreed, personaly love the shiverpeaks and it’s beatiful mountains, plains and forests covered with snow and ice. Reminds me of Scandinavia and Canada/Alaska. Fresh breath of air compared to the cartoony unrealistic Landscapes/graphics of certain other games in the genre.
Hmm they made a classic movie about this sort of thing, “Mutiny on the bounty”. Think of al the coups that would break out, turning guildwars into anarchy wars ;-)
My fresh new banana colored ranger sylvari. Away with those boring grey and dark green tones :-)

Happy New year from the Netherlands!
Speak for yourself, not for the many. I quite enjoyed the last LS chapter. And looking forward to what it will bring in 2014. The introduction of a certain dragon(s), just my bet… And interrested in how did Scarlet get so mentaly deranged. Dont be surprised if somebody else is pulling the strings.
Very nice Endscene cinematic. Love the artistic style coming to life. Also the instance was enjoyable to play.
Played Guildwars since prophecies was one year old (2006) and enjoy Guildwars 2 right now. Its a different game, but i like it in is own right. And i will see the guildwars 2 Wintersday for the first time.

do it that way and we’re done, it can be expanded by being able to add some personal touches but let’s focus on having a GH in the first place.
Agreed, the guildhall like back in the days would work fine.
My prediction for 2014 is an expansion called “the rise of Jormag” or the “Rise of the Jungledragon”.
Scarlet was the salad before the main 7 way course.

The queensdale champ zerg is an example of the downside of the dynamic lootscaling system. Its suposed to be one happy guildwars family helping eachother. Instead its misused by high level farmers who want maximum reward with no effort wathsoever. Hammering down low level champs who will buckle in 5 seconds under pressure of the great zerg ball of dead. Not a good start for the new adventurers exploring the beautiful lands of Kryta. When new players get their first champ in sight its propably down before they even reach it, or they get verbal abuse if they are fortunate to get there first.

It would be great to have guild halls again, like in gw1. A place for guildies to come together with all the needed facilities in one place. Really loved the various designs for the guildhall in the past with their own distinct setting.
An endless Horde of hyperactive immature players with land, sea and air mounts poluting the horizon, no thx. There are other games for that.

I had problems with my AMD videocard drivers after win 8.1 upgrade. It caused instability. After full reinstall of the drivers (not in the programs screen, but from af fresh install of the Original AMD catalist drivers setup file) everything is fully stable and performing like before. On a laptop BTW with AMD Radeon HD 7640G + 7610M Dual Graphics card.

I did have some problems with Win 8.1 upgrade with the videocard drivers wich didnt function correct afterwards. After a reinstall of the drivers everythings stable again.
Terrible Idea. We have waypoints and speedskills, that works perfectly. Movement mounts are only gimmick items. I can already see the graphic polution in front of me, an army of Big doliaks standing in front of me and griphons skydiving on my head. No thx :-) Not to think of the performance lag it can bring with a big dynamic.
Had a lot of lag when i was playing this evening (Western Europe) on the Gunnars Hold Server playing PVE.
I personaly like history, mythology and might and magic in games (although i like pure scyfy on tv ). Not very fond of the cyber and steam influences. Gives a feeling of the Syfy channel inhouse movies. Once tried to watch one but fell to sleep within 5 min :-)
Wouldn’t it be great to have more seafaring instead of flying ;-)
But as long as the most of the content is historical Sword and Scorcery influenced i’m not complaining.

In my opinion the LS is giving sort of an neverending event Feeling. It lacks strong lore and obviously replayability. Also its too heavily focused on getting endless achievements and fluffy loot instead of adventuring and exploring the beautiful lands of Tyria (It pulls the people away). I personaly like the permanent content of the game and hope that this is expanded in the future. If no expansions maybe something like bonus mission packs in the store (Like in gw1) to fuel the main game content in the future (instead of ingame items).
Cheers :-)
