Sigh, first the complaints about Thrahearne (and Kormir many years ago). And now its the other way, and complaints again. Just enjoy the content and give the developers some praise for a change. They did very well i must say.
My Guess if its an expansion. A bundled edition of Gw 2, Ls2 and the expac for new players for the price of a new game (boxed and digital). For the existing players, the expac for a decent amount of gems.
In my opinion a healthy quality A game developer needs payed expansions to survive and expand (marketing and hype to get the Vets back and atract new players) . A purely cash shop driven game has its limits.

Little bit oversensitive hey. Its just a game. I’m sure there will be a good and a bad faction (just like Blood, Iron and Ash legion charr against Flame). Would be nice if the option was given to be the one or other, but i dont see that work. So prepare to have some sort of super anti corruption magic (or medicine).
In my opinion, its a good thing theres some tension and conflict between the races. Gives a much more realistic story than they all hold hands Together and be hapilly ever after.
Furteron, its quite possible only the nightmare court (Spoiler: Did i see faolain in the End of the trailer impaling a human with some sort of weapon?) , maybe soundless and the other tree sylvaries will be affected.
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
Give it a scythe and dervish skills (good dps, boons and boonrips) and i’m all for it :-) And Dervish armor ofcourse. Overall a great idea.
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
A Gnome with human female curves and a cat with female curves. This wont end well :-)
Probably some type of Bamboo :-) Its quite strong actually.
Mursaat are in this video.
I am so certain that is a Mursaat.
It has more resemblance with a Seer
From the guildwars 1 wiki.
Ever heard of a term called power curve. Level 80 or 100 doesnt make any difference, its an illusion. You go up in level (mindless grind, can throw away all your precious equipement), but the the foes do exactly the same. It does not make you stronger in any way. Its not gameplay, its only grind all the way till you burn out.
Personally i miss them. Before Megaservers i used to visit the Rich Nodes Which had a (semi) fixed location.
Do you know what you get then? A furry Norn Body with a Cat head :-) Its a feline creature, not a human like. And it would have the run and jump physics of a human (or Norn). In my opinion, leave it as it is.

0.50 in the trailer, very big hint related to ascencion and the crystal desert (key words hall of ascension, mesa, doppelganger, augary rock ) they are exactly the same as this one:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hall_of_Ascension
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
The Sign on the wall at 0.50 is exactly the same as this one:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Elona_Reach_Tablet.jpg
Connections to augary rock, elona reach? Ascencian, the doppelganger? who knows
‘Grow its universe’ Asuras invented stargates now? ;-) That would be something: Guildwars 2 Planet of the gods, guildwars 2 Battle beyond the stars (love those sf references, 2 in one post hehe).
The dragon is not in the game (like many other things from the early trailer). There is an funny old WP video talking about it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX_Wp8SB_Co
the dragon comes up at 16 min 30 sec
dont generalize. I play ranger longbow (sometimes axe) next to sword horn (or greatsword) and never use knockback in critical group events. There are also melees with knockbacks who also use them (intentional or just impulsive inexperienced). Just as anoying, and i have experienced it many times. It seemes popular too blame rangers for everything. What would be a good idea is to give the leap back of the shortbow to the longbow instead of the knockback maybe too give the longbow the range it needs.

The new location doesn’t make sence. Its out of place and to scattered. Furtheron, the dynamic events (Linea and the hare) are still in the old place. I find the replacement of this and others (like the removal of the dredge heart in the begin area) making no sence. It was perfectly logically, now its not. The stripping of the beginning areas makes them a lot more boring and anti learning curve.
Have the same problem, it seems to have just vanished. I dont hope its another gate the nodes even further away. Think its a bug or something.
What about the tons of names of Guildwars 1 and 2 npcs (characters) that are derived from rl earthly names (now, history and mythology) . For examples Kate, Magnus, Logan, Eve (gw 1), Balthazar, Abbadon etc. These are not gw unique names. This could mean we cannot use many names at all in the end. Look at the Norn, Sylvary and human names, all rl history, mythology, modern derived names.

Against.
1) performance issues.
2) graphic polution (we already have enough of that with all the particle effects). Dont want to stare at 100 doliak behinds and have griffons blazing all around when i do a Boss dynamics.
3) it promotes imature behavior (just like the no to openworld pvp in pve), remind you that guildwars has a decent mature community.
4) We have waypoints, dont want to have to go 3 hours with a mount to all the places before i can do the content i want to (something to do with a thing called life).
5) I am glad that there is one mmo who does it different then all the so called Wow clones.
Would so love to go back to elona. Thea visit with our old dear friend P Joko.
That would be the ‘point of no return’ for me. No level grind please. It adds nothing and has nothing to do with skill or progression. It only promotes unhealthy Obsessive compulsive behaviour.
A simplified, downtoned version for the ps4 where three quarters of the profit goes to Sony, no thank you. Requiring me to buy a ps4, no thx. You know how that will end, the pc version will become a simplified port from the ps4 version.
Let me guess, and next you want the Svanir censored out of the story because of Jora they dispise women. Little oversensitive in my opinion. If it is within the good context of the story/lore, whats the problem? Do the villains have to go fluffy now? Without any character? Scarlet Opressed and deccimated whole civilisations, the Mad King is a good guy in comparison. And she did it for sports, she made fun of it all the time, right?
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
We dont want to overuse those brain muscles do we? Too Confusing :-)
+1
Immersive intelligent gameplay seems to be a dying art nowadays.
Also excited. Looking forward to it. First Halloween, then the continuation of the Living Story.
Its a little bit strange that theres no Preview whatsoever. Even if its a rehash of the the last (or elements of the first included hopefully, ala Mad King Mini dungeon). I Always used previews to prepare for the content, hype myself up :-) And it would be a perfect way to bring new players in, Events are Always appreciated and a welcome change from the usual more serious content.

Seriously, with no mention of possible future expansions, if we have to confront each and every dragon through the Living World, how long do you think it will take for us to kill all of the Elder Dragons?
We’re already past the second year mark and we’re not that close to killing Mordy. I mean, 4 Living World content patches gave us the tiny zone of Dry Top…. Will it take 3 years per dragon? Cause if that’s the case that will string this games life out to oh, 15 years at that pace. Heck, WoW is on it’s 10th year now and they’re losing a lot of subscribers. Do you think this game will still be alive by the time we get to slay each dragon?
The question is, will we kill all dragons? I can see a plot twist happen where we actually realize that their cycles are crucial for tyria.
I hope This is the case. Whats is the fun of killing all the dragons in one blow. Its not pokemon. Its will make the story childish. Its better if we get some other interesting characters (not primordal forces without voice). I’m thinking about Palawa Joko, A new Lich lord, return of the gods (to balance the dragons out) etc with stories developing over time.
If only Palawa Joko alias the scourge of Vabi makes a surprise visit at Halloween then im convinced. A flying carpet sounds like a random gem store item which has nothing to do with the lore (like many gem items)
Typical. The same people who where talking the ranger down for two years as a underpowered class are know complaining that they get their kitten kicked. The ranger needed the buffs it got to balance it with other classes.
This is something introduced since the megaserver system. I think it would be a good idea to have some multy language chat channels, so everybody can decide for him self if they want other languages or only the english language on their chat. I usaly dont mind some other languages here and there, but quite frequently i’m in a megaserver zone where there are many spanish, French and german speakers (from the other language servers), and i dont now what they are talking about (except the german, thats easy to follow for a Dutch player). And still many (new) players dont know nothing about the system and dont understand. Recently had a spanish speaking player who didnt understand the english language and was under the assumption that i was on his spanish server, tried to help him with his questions, but it was near impossible. Personaly i think it would be the best if we had the zones back like in guildwars 1, with personal control over it, not a big fan of intelligent computer systems deciding whats best for you.
If its Gladiator armor or Elonan style armor in the future, maybe. As long as it doesnt turn into a dragqueen striptease modern kind of thing. This is not the Sims.
It’s how it is intended. Since the new leveling experience its all about leveling. Everything is gated behind levels. It looks like the horizontal progression and immersive gameplay is thrown overboard. Skills, traits, basic mechanics and personal story are al gated now. In my opinion a unhealthy situation. It has a very forced flavor over it. Not to speak of the dumbed down beginner areas, they are boring to dead.
I miss the Gargoyles. Remember my first experience in gw prophecies ascalon region, killing alot of these fellows. Like this fellow (Spasmo Thunderbolt):
Theres farmers of two types. The one that dont get in the way (dungeon farmers) and the ones that do (the so called open world exploiters, remember the champ train nightmare? and now Drytop and other areas are infested with the same people).
But i think you already knew the answer to your question very well.
Look at how full of life the other cities are now. They used to be ghost cities before the destruction. Everyone was only just standing there in Lions Arch like zombies. The destruction has created a different mindset and in my opinion a good one.
If a new city is created i sure hope it isnt made of pirate ships. It already was a scrap heap challenge before Scarlet :-)
The jumping puzzles are fun though.
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
First we need a scrap legion from the char to break down all that metal in the water and on land. Then a huge sink for building materials must be set in place. Afterthat we put a working force of Quaggans to the task.
Although i must say i like the new player experience and other feature packs things after fixing and balancing i must say i’m also not amused of the unexplainable dumbdown of the beginnerareas. And ofcourse the removing of a ton of juvenile tamable pets for the ranger. It can give a new player the impression that the rest of the game also is this simple. The guide and the tips and things like the dodge tutorial are useful (they should have done this with the down state). The dumbed down beginning areas are contra learning like they are now. Its quite spoonfed. (hmm the spoons have a hidden message?)
I dont know if it whas mentioned before. There seems to be missing a ton of Juvinile Pets from the 1-15 maps. I’’m rolling out a new ranger. But cant find many pets who where there before. Still stuck at 2 pets now :-) Noticed it in Norn and Charr areas. Confirmed missing By myself: Brown Bear, Hyena, Black Bear, Red moa. Heard people that a lot more are missing on the chat. Did they migrate somewhere else :-) ?
Every poll is biased. Look at the indepence of Scotland from England (or is it UK?) Polls for example. Every poll says what the poll maker (or the people behind it) wants it to be.
As a sidenote: I was sceptical at first of the patch. But now i have been leveling a new toon this weekend again (weekend fresh :-) i must say i like it.
Pros: the leveling bonus, the guide (good thing for the newbies), the tips, some of the tutorial stuf like the dodge (they should do the same with downstate).
Neutral: the packs of personal story (with the bags of loot insted of kill loot and some items) , i personaly dont mind this or the old system.
Against: Core mechanics locked to long. If they tweak with that and make the after first level 80 characters acount bound for the core mechanics its good.
Must say there are many new rangers in the starter area :-)
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
I did.
I like the level up rewards etc, The packs of personal story is not a bother for me personally. The Guide and the tips and tutorial things like the dodge one are a good thing for new players.
The level gating of basic gameplay mechanics are terrible. And the simplyfication of the begin area is over the top (example: no more bear cub feeding at bear shrine, no more give the cows some water at the first Queens dale heart).
And where have multiple of the charmable animals gone? (example: Brown bear, Bear shrine).
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
I think the point of the poll was to quell the mass hysteria that has been fueled by a few people when in reality the problem is not as “game-breaking”. Sure some people don’t like somethings but its not the end of the world like some very vocal posters have led to believe.
Dont go whiteknighting and dismiss other peoples constructive critisism. Speak for yourself.
I see what you did there with the choice “the leveling would be ok with some adjustments”. You interpred it to your own case, and thats misleading. You stear it with exactly that option.
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
Its al about the trend in gaming nowadays to oversimplify everything. First time i played i remember not knowing what it was, but just ignored it. First learnt the basics and then the rest (tp, crafting, traits etc). A natural learning proces.
Where have all the tamable pets in the level 1-15 areas gone (for example the brown bear) ? There are many Gone after the Feature Patch. As far as i know, theres no mentioning of it. To overwelming for new players? Or are we getting the shiverpeak areas from gw 1 back and did the bears migrate back to their Original habitat :-)
(edited by Bolbo Baggins.8594)
This is the love the ranger needed.
Agreed, frost spirit is a worthless team buff now.
There seem to be a lot of pets that have just vanished in the starting areas since the new player experience. No mention of it anyware though.
Juvenile Grizzly bears missing at the bear shrine in the Norn beginners area.
It would be a very good idea if they did that. I’m sort of a altoholic and cant get myself to play furter until a rollback. The Forced, restrictive gated leveling experience right now is not healthy (its mentaly exhausting in my opinion)and i wouldnt recomend the game right now to someone.
