The only frustrating thing about Lupicus is that he becomes harder the more inexperienced people are at killing him. You sound like you’ve done any other path than 3 (or maybe 2) There’s a long run for a reason you know. Whenever I do Arah with my guild no one ever dies at Lupicus ans getting downed at all is a rare sight. You don’t really need a specific class to take him down either
I do agree on the rewards/effort ratio thoug. Unless you want a gift of zhaitan/Arah skin you’re better off running some other dungeon such as AC or CoF, which really is a shame.
I could create a cross server party for path 4 if I could find someone already experienced with the path. It’s the only Arah path I haven’t done and I’ve already completed 2 and 3 today.
Aurora Glade. It’s an EU server btw
Arah is open on my server at the moment. :P
I’ve never seen any bugs on path 3 or 2. Path 1 is bugged to hell but it’s nothing that prevents you from completing the dungeon. I haven’t done path 4 but some people say that the spark AI during the Simin fight is bugged
I don’t like how people want everything to be centered about fractals. There simply shoulkdn’t be any bugs on Arah, not some system that makes fixing bugs obsolete.
Arah is not dying, it’s just not as popular as fractals during the periods when it isn’t bugged. You will only find PUGs for path 2 and 3 because the two others require some team communication (They are still done, you just don’t see anyone advertising them)
Also Lupicus isn’t hard. At least he shouldn’t be after you’ve fought him 2 or 3 times.
Boring bosses is not what makes people avoid a dungeon. You see a lot of people running HotW after all. :P
Currently running Arah path 1 for the first time
I’ve heard that the bug that prevents you from finishing can be avoided, but how?
What’s the jumping puzzle called?
2 chests doesn’t really mean it’s rewardig considering a chest usually only gives 3-4 blues :P
I can’t even get past some of the stones inside the cave, lol
What makes you think that?
They finished the catapults long ago but nothing’s happened
Why didn’t they make this Explorable the first one that new players get access to?
It’s dull as dishwater but that’s what new players need (b/c it also gives the most ideal “Survival” gear for other Dungeons instead of useless ‘Zerker’ gear like COF gives).
Too many players started off with AC & CM and then walked away from them with a horrible first impression. (and no Gear to show for it)
AC also gives survivability gear
The Zealot is no fun when he spams his sinking ability on one player
This thread suffers from serious L2P
Aside from the Evolved Destroyer and the HP of the MARK T-B-something boss I agree. CoE is probably the most fun dungeon in the game at the moment.
Have you seen what it says just below the level requirement on the medium chestplate? If not, it’s “This coat hides shoulder armor.”
1) You said it was your first time doing the dungeon. Thus you (probably) don’t know anything about the bosses and their mechanics but even then you expect them to just walk around and let you kill them?
2) Blink abilities can get you out of the crystals. If you don’t have any of those, coordinate with your team and get people to fight Alpha in melee range. It’s easier to break crystals/ressurect and he doesn’t use the fire AoE when you’re close to him
3) Alpha is all about learning him. Like I said in #1 if it’s your first time doing him you shouldn’t really know anything about hi.
4) Most dungeons only have 2-3 chests
5) See #2
6) That’s a matter of opinion. I like the armour
except that ANet stated many many times that dungeons ARE MEANT for dedicated dungeon group with a very specific class make up and all exotic gear (well the class make up and gear is optional)
Which is why they made them available from level 35
Eva I’d love to see that kind of a post on one of the endless ‘Arah gate bug’ topics.
I second that
Use the trade post then
So we’re punished for being a well-coordinated team of good players, is that what you’re trying to say?
Yup
It’s designed as an anti-farming measure, but actually you are essentially being punished for skipping half the dungeon and rushing to the final boss.
From the looks of the image in OP’s post they did HotW path 1 which really shouldn’t take any longer than 20-25 minutes, no matter if you skip the mobs or not.
After completing Story Mode of said dungeon you should be allowed to skip the events and head straight into explorable mode.
He gains might stacks if you use the subversion rifle on him from the previous room and with one full beam he gains 25 stacks. Go try it out!
Are they actual might stacks, or stacks of a boss-specific buff?
If the former, might be interesting to use in combination with a Wells Necro (See where I’m going with this?)
They’re actual might stacks. Duration is 20 seconds btw
Yeah, same thing recently happened to me at the final Alpha in CoE :l
…On the other hand… Maybe uhh, they’re just going to steal LOL’s death penalty mechanic for it? IE: you can’t corpse roll the final encounters b/c you stay dead a lot longer?? I dunno, I guess well find out!
What
Everyone should just melee him and have condition removers if they’re doing path 1 or 2
Ice circles can be dodge rolled after 1½ second or so and you won’t have to be concerned about escaping into a different player’s circles.
The cone shaped spikes can be dodged with some practice (Alpha looks at the player he’s going to target for a while before actually using them. With some timing you can evade the attack as soon as he starts the animation)
It’s also much easier to break crystals/ressurect when everyone stacks on him in melee range for obvious reasons.
I am looking for an EU-based guild that mainly focuses on running EXP dungeons.
I have a functioning microphone if being able to use communication software such as TS and skype is a requirement.
I’m not interested in guilds that
-Require me to represent at all times
-Require me to donate my money to some guy so he can get his commander title/legendary/other
-Require me to register on some external website dedicated to the guild
-Use any other language than English
-are US based since dungeon instances aren’t cross continent at the moment
-Require me to sign up on an external website dedicated to the guild
If there’s something you want to know leave a comment on this thread.

Sign me up if you want to. I’ve only done path 3 but I am more than willing to learn the others.
I play on an EU server and live in the time zone GMT +1.
During the weekdays I’ll be available from around 3PM to ~10PM GMT
During the weekends I am more or less online all day lol
Then they’d have to make a version of every stat combination as well
>GW2 was supposed to be about not having to wait to have fun.
And then they didn’t even add a cross-server LFG tool
AC exotic armour is also cheaper then the other dungeon armour sets.
While they’re at it, why don’t they also remove 25-30% of all the bosses HP? :P Most of the bosses have way too much HP with almost none (if any) special mechanics which makes HotW (Especially path 2) a tad too boring.
Trash mobs usually have way too much HP and give no reward at all. They aren’t even a part of the dungeon’s progression/story whatever you want to call it.
Much like Subject Alpha, Lupicus is all about learning him. It’s all about timing your dodges.
I’d like to have an info source on that.
But as much as I’d like a centaur-themed dungeon I think the probability of another bandit dungeon (
) is high. Since day 1 there’s been an asura gate in Fort Vandal (Western desert in Brisban Wildlands)
The fort itself is not accessible (yet) but if you look on the walls surrounding it you’ll see that it’s guarded by multiple level 80 champion bandits.
Perhaps you could make a thread on the forums
Yesterday someone made a thread where everyone interested in doing CoE ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Starting-a-CoE-exp-farm-group/first#post584645 ) could write and add each other and it seemed to be a success
Add me.
Always nice to have friends from other servers in case a dungeon gets contested
Curious about this as well
How do I get down to the platform without jumping and dying?
Almost always up for it, have a level 80 warrior and mesmer that needs the full armour sets
(edited by Bukkebruse.2810)
I like this idea actually. I’d be particularly interested in AC and CoE runs. (And possibly Arah once I’ve learned the ropes)
Today in a CoE pug I heard someone mentioning choosing to save the inquest (about mid-ways through the dungeon, just before the 2nd Subject Alpha encounter) makes Alpha spawn with less maximum HP thus making it faster to defeat him.
Is this true?
Just did path 1 with some friends
After killing the second boss the dungeon bugged and the patrols spawned instantly as soon as they had left their points
We all got wiped before we could get through to the golems and the endless zerg prevented us from even leaving the spawn waypoint. :l
